I don't want to write this review! Up until this point I have enjoyed all the books that Amanda Milo has brought out, which meant that I was insanely excited to get my mitts on the next book in the Stolen by an Alien series. Sadly, and it kills me to say, but the anticipation was more enjoyable than the actual book.
I think the main problem I had with this book was that it didn't seem to have a plot. It read more like a series of scenes that Milo wrote and then tried to cobble together in a vague timeline. It never felt like a put together and cohesive story it was too disjointed.
It also prevented me connecting with the Gracie or Dohrein and enjoying the romance. Because it didn't feel like a romance. It was strange, there was no build up of their relationship, no seeing them connecting on an emotional level. They just started to have sex and that was apparently that. It was weird.
There was a bonus short story at the end of the book which I found I enjoyed far more. It felt like it had a more continuous story line and a flirtation between the two characters. And honestly, that is what the two stars for this book are for.
Unfortunately Craved by an Alien just managed to baffle me, the story and the romance were just...missing. However, this is the first book of Milo's that I haven't liked so I will definitely be reading the next one, hopefully this is just a blip.

If this book were human, it would be a superficial blonde.
I didn't really remember book one and two and I never read book three so I was this close to dnf-ing but for reasons only known to God, I didn't.
It was nice enough. Kinda like a really extended version of an epilogue of books I don't remember but apparently loved. *shrugs* -
Gracie and Dohrein!
We only think we know Gracie and what she has been through before this book. She is definitely a strong woman with an enjoyable sarcastic wit and manner. Dohrein's backstory really does show how and why he ended up where and with who and why. Dohrein is quite complex.
We meet several new characters in this story and learn much much more about Rakhii. Also, did anyone else wonder about those glimpses of the future in the other books? We get a little bit more of how they get there.
At the end of Gracie & Dohrein's story, we get Hotahn's story (semi-affectionately known as Akita to Gracie). Wow, who wouldn't want to know more about Hotahn and his human-stealing self? Jennifer/Doc and the kids show up and steal the show! Well, mostly Cricket but Levi is pretty cool too.
There are so many characters that I want to know more about now. This book was a great story that both fulfilled my need to know Dohrein's story and teased me with MORE PEOPLE means MORE STORIES! -
I Loved This Book!!
I was shocked to see it in my email, I immediately dropped everything and began to read it immediately.
When the book became available to buy i bought it immediately, no questions asked.
When it comes to Amanda’s book, they are an automatic 1-Click Buy.
Her books are AWESOMELY AMAZING & QUITE ADDICTIVE.
I’ve reread this series so much, that if they were in paperback I’d have to replace them XD
I Patiently waited for the next book in the series and was excited to see it was Gracie & Dohrein’s time to shine and I was not let down at all, this book answered so many questions that left you wondering in previous books (that was to be expected), but it didn’t take away from the couple and LOVED the smexy scenes and humor so much!!
Cannot wait for the next book!! :D -
Awwww, yessss. Gracie and Dohrein. Gracie comes across as a little hard and ... I don't know how to put this. She wasn't unlikable, necessarily, but she wasn't the most beloved among the women who were stolen/rescued. But the lady had MAD loyalty for those she sided with. She stands up for Callie when Callie can't stand up for herself even as she pokes and prods at the abused woman to find herself again.
She's like a textbook example of tough love.
She's also a little insane with her utter fearlessness in the face of the broody aliens they've come to live with. But that might just be because she's bored.
In some ways, Dohrein doesn't seem like he'd be perfect for her, but he is. He adores Gracie and accepts all her quirks and the need she has to needle him. He loves that she accepts him for who and what he is. He's also sometimes detached and analytical to the extreme. Well, he's detached and analytical until Gracie sidles up to him and thoroughly distracts him.
MAN, I like these two together.
(And I really really REALLY like that Dohrein is trying to help the Rakhii by understanding what triggers the bonding instinct and how some of them are able to manage it as well as they do. The Rakhii seem to have gotten the short end of the stick with the Gryfala and it's about time they had someone thinking about them as more than just muscle.)
Yep, I'm still loving this series. HARD.

Awesome read! switching POV between Dohrein and Gracie was enjoyable. Gracie lived up to her Bitchy nickname but she totally owned it and it became more understandable with her using it to deal with her original sale situation. Loved her interactions with Dohrein :) and the essential nutrients for human women raid was hysterical. so many LOL's lots of time interacting with the previous (and upcoming) books couples. and a nice little bonus story at the end.

Good book.
I loved Gracie and dohrain. They were hilarious together. I liked how the trauma Gracie went through was not glossed over but was addressed in the book. The only thing I didn't like was this book almost felt like it was filling holes and didn't flow very well. Other then that it was great. -
This book focuses on Dohrein the Hob and Gracie, the wise cracking, sarcastically smack talking treasure and their journey back to earth to collect Vital supplies and people. Armed with a gang of hobs and a reiki or two and posing as a film cast... what could possibly go wrong? 😂😂😂😂
If you have not read the previous books in this fantastic series firstly... WHY???
And secondly GO AND READ THEM!! you don’t technically need to read the previous books but you will be missing out on so so much WONDERFUL STORY TIMES and back story on feature charachters and snippets of Dohrein and Gracie, that are just too priceless to miss!
Having insight into Gracie and Dohrein from the previous books was a fantastic tease to this book, it was wonderful to read about their relationship and understanding of each other. Adele as learning more about Gracie past and her experiences from her point of view. The brave face she puts on is a strong one and I adored seeing the more vulnerable side of her.
Alongside this book is a smaller book that is equally as brilliant and well constructed.
I adore this Author, the world and charachters she writes are wonderfully constructed, and filled with so many layers of personality it is seriously not possible to have a favourite.... but your always guaranteed to have a brilliant reading experience and left wanting for more.

Enjoyable but disappointing
I’m a bit disappointed because I love Gracie, Dohrein is my favorite hero in the series so far, and I think this book didn’t do them enough justice.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cute story and you get to know them better, but other than their relationship there’s not much to this book, there were some interesting plot lines that should’ve been explored but weren’t.
It got a bit monotonous at times, and in the end there was some unfinished business that I would’ve liked to be resolved.
I’m giving it 4 stars because G&D but it should be 3 to be honest. -
3:00 Am... my husband wakes up because the bed is shaking, nope, is not an Earthquake, is me, I can't hold the laughter, this book is great!! Fun, exciting, great sex, great heroine great hero, great world building, just amazing!!
Word of recommendation, please read the first two books so you can appreciate the whole story, if you don’t feel like Ms. Milo has been kind enough to add a recap about “what happened before” still, go for book one and two. You can thank me later -
There was very little moving forward in the story. I personally don’t care about hearing everyone’s backstory I want the storyline to move forward and for new things to happen. I hate having to relive past events from a different persons perspective. Around 50ish% it kinda picked up but by that point I was bored with it.
This happened in the last book also. As much as I enjoy this world I’m not sure I can read another book in this series if this is going to happen with every couple. -
First off this is not a standalone. If you haven't read the other 3 books you will be a bit confused.
I loved Gracie. She was smart and not TSTL with a LOT of sarcasm thrown in. I had lots of LOL moments. I started reading this on my lunch break at work so I got a lot of looks. Dohrein was wonderful. Sexy sexy alien. There are a lot of backstories told and it was very revealing. I am definitely going to re-read this one.

DNF. First book ever I didn't finish!
This is kind of an off the wall, crazy book full of slang and ! Marks. Not anything I am interested in reading.
I love Sci-fi romances. Not this repetitive, inane, and snarky book, though. -

I really liked seeing the soft side of these two but the story had no flow imho. I kept getting confused with the jumping around. At times I didn’t know what I was reading until halfway through the chapter, though what I read was entertaining. -

Amanda's said it already, but I gotta reiterate for the people at the back - this book doesn't really stand alone. There's a lot of funny stuff in this, which might carry you through "just what is going ON?" but...suspension of disbelief is a fragile thing and let's not poke it too hard, right?
Besides, it's not like reading the previous books will be any hardship at all.
There's politics and Backstory going on and it's slightly harder to get just where the characters are coming from because Craved by an Alien reads a bit like a big extended epilogue after the explosions are done. Which was also warned for, but just so you know - the narrative arc isn't the usual one.
That said, Craved by an Alien was hysterically funny, I found myself cackle-snorting constantly, and it's filled with gorgeously strange beings who are wondrously flawed. In previous books it was easy to hate the Gryfala as awful users and to write off main-planet hobs as "those silly beings who should all revolt), but in this book we get to see another facet of the story and it's stunning. I love how the culture is a Real Thing and the real genius here is that while I'm wanting to scream at these aliens for Getting It All Wrong, I also get why they're dealing with these issues. Or not dealing with them, as it were.
It took me a moment, but I realized that Dohrein might be a genius who has figured out the issue, but everyone else isn't really to blame. Ish, they are. I think with how smart they all are, they should've figured things out way sooner, but it's 2018 and we've put people on the moon and some (many, actually) of our doctors still believe that black people don't feel pain the way white people do. (no, really, look it up) So I guess I can't throw stones at how aliens treat walking cuisinart aliens.
Yeah, sorry, that went dark. Anyway. I loved Craved by an Alien, really need to go back and reread the other books now, and I can't wait for the next installation in this series!

I honestly enjoyed far more the bonus story involving the Rakhii Hotahn and Jen, perhaps it's my weakness for the Rakhii (can't get enough of them) or that they were an older couple, which is unusual in general in romance, but I was pleasantly surprised by this gift from the author.
In Craved by an Alien, Gracie and Dohrein's story, the best part was their trip to Earth and all the fucked up situations the alien crew creates and their puzzled reactions to human culture, that part was hilarious. The rest was a little too uneventful and Gracie's snarky character was too much for me after a while, I guess it's her coping mechanism but I needed her to change her register after a while.
However it was nice to see her and Dohrein, nerdy, sweet, Dohrein to have found their home with each other, two characters who seemed to be outsiders and didn't fit in.
I hope this series continues for a long time, the world building offers possibilities for a lot of stories to be told. -
There wasn't so much story overlap with this one. I liked that we had more with the field trip to earth with everyone. I especially liked the short story at the end, liked seeing how the 3 people ended up wtih the Rakhii protector and were happy for it.
I really liked seeing how life was going for everyone now that they were building their new community. I will say that a little Gracie went a long way, but she totally killed it talking to her new Alien in-laws. I don't think any of them knew what hit them during the talks and after. But the big conclusion was seeing how the group could pretty much ask for anything and get it. -

Unlike 1&3 (I couldn't read 2, too many nightmare triggers for me) 4 starts not in the auction ring, or even really in captivity, but rather after her rescue.
Gracie is not full of grace. She's piss and vinegar and not afraid to vocalize her displeasure. Or her really twisted humor. After what she's endured she's not going to be a victim ever again. She's free, she's going to grab life by the horns. Or, rather, wings, as she gets her sights on a hob, Rein, instead of a rhakii. (I may be spelling that wrong, please forgive me.) Her fellow rescued humans have all gone through healing phases. Gracie decided to skip that, block out the nasty, and just get back to good life. But their trip to Earth for supplies leads to a lot of craziness: kids, moms, feral cats, grabby human women, a fake movie set up, grocery store visits gone so very wrong and a whole lot of hob glitter.
This was an interesting addition to the series. I know from other reviews that some people just didn't like Gracie. She is rather abrasive. But it's her version of 'blank face'. Trigger warnings, she was raped during her time in the Underwater Dome. But she survived. She even helped her own rescue. And she's not going to let bad memories and nightmares keep her from living and loving. I completely understand her reaction. Therapy isn't for everyone and some people, myself included, refuse to follow what many consider a victim mentality. She has flashbacks. She has triggers. But she snarks her way through it all. She pushes herself to be more. She doesn't want to just survive. She's going to thrive. She sets her sights on Rein and goes from a little "back in the saddle lust therapy" to falling for the handsome hob. He, like the other hobs, is seeking a female to belong to. But unlike other hobs, has a possessive streak. He doesn't want to share. He likes strong women, as Gryfala are very dominant. So Gracie is exactly what he's looking for. Their story is sweet and strong, and like a good whiskey, packs a punch. The hilarity going on in the background is so much fun, too. Mobbed hobs, rampant rhakii, some new human cast members, and a whole lot of unleashed alien craziness on an unsuspecting Earth. The saddest part for me was learning about Gracie's marine biology knowledge and interest. To go from loving all that to it being her new source of nightmare material is heartbreaking. But I did get a kick out her 'mothering' the hobs and trying to herd rhakii. The people watching was a kick, too. While I can completely sympathize with what Callie suffered and her (from what I read in reviews because, nope, I just can't read the book) struggles, I preferred Gracie's approach to rehabilitation and recovery. I hope other readers will give her a chance, too. Gracie grows on you. -
Gracie and Dohrein's story the 4th book in the series. I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about this one and have decide to rate it 3.5 stars. I think what's starting to bother me about this series is the fact that we know everyone's basic stories and who they end up with, all we get which is new is the finer details about how they get together/mated. Theirs no thrill or suspense that keeps you glued to the story and turning the pages non- stop to find out what happens. That's what this series has been missing for me as were told alot of the plot as from the first book. We already knew alot about these two characters unlike say tara's book which I enjoyed way more. This story starts a bit abruptly with the scene about how they got together. What really annoyed me was that it starts with alot of sexual banter and foreplay, gets you hooked into the moment but then fades to black and were catapulted a year later into their relationship all I could say was WTF!!! I was really looking forward to their story as I just love Gracie's personality shes spunky and funny as hell, I just adore her. Their story continues from the trip back to earth to gather supplies and after a very intense scene in a store changing room nothing much really happens between them. I mean I found more interesting them observing the other couples and reading about them than about Gracie and Dohrein. Other than learing what happened to Gracie before she hooked up with her hob, having her plan the human village and design clothes nothing much happens which was a disappointing. I had such high hope's for this one and I can't help but feel dissapointed. On a more positive note oh boy how much I enjoyed the bonus chapters of Hotahn and Jen. I think I might have enjoyed this more than Gracie's and Dohrein's story just cause of the fact that its brand new. We don't have the story retold from someone elses perspective were learning everything as it happens. Hotahn was just amazing, all the Rakhii are. Big, strong and assertive with his beautiful blue eyes he was just so dang sexy it wasn't even funny. I'm surprised she didn't call out goose sooner lol. I do have some queries about Jen though; like how old is she? It mentions she has grey hair with silver strands. Then she complains about her lack of wetness pre-sex so is she going through menopause? Is she fithty? I really wished the author hadn't wrote her so mature just for the simple fact I'd have loved it if she'd been able to have Hotahn's baby. At least the one sex scene provided was a little better described than the ones between Gracie and Dohrein but I still get the feeling the author is playing it very safe all of a sudden with the intimate scenes with the lack of descriptions and making them so short.

*ARC Review*
Let me start by saying that Gracie wasn’t my favorite character in previous books, but boy did she prove me wrong! She is such a sass bucket; you can’t help but lover her! While it may not seem like it, she’s a protector and if she’s feels her friends aren’t being treated right, you better believe she’s gonna rectify that situation. She has her own demons, but she kicks their ass and doesn’t let them hold her back. That’s role model material right there! Of course, Dohrein was amazballs; he and Gracie were seriously perfect for eachother.
I think the only thing that I would have liked to have seen in this book was more conflict. Weird thing to say, I know. I hate conflict when it’s happening, but without it, the story kind of feels flat. Like I said before, Gracie does have her demons, but she flicks them away and is over it like that, so there isn’t much happening. Gracie and Dohrein also already start out together and nothing super substantial happens in the plot. This installment kind of felt like a novella/Filler book, but it was still teveking awesome! I can’t wait for the next one!
Side note:
Can I just say that I NEED the rest of Hotahn’s story ASAP! I mean what a sweetheart, am I right? I’m gonna channel my inner nerdy Dohrein and say that I would love to see more of the Rakhii behavior with their pups in future books. I love how protective they are <3 HAPPY READING MINIONS <3 -
Not sure what happened here
I'm not really sure what happened here. Normally I love her books, but this felt so disjointed. I'm missing huge chunks of the story including the parts when they fell in love. It's like a bunch novellas were just thrown together without actual content in between them. Very disappointing. And I normally don't write reviews but this seems like it needed one. Not sure if anyone else is having the same problems, but like I said really disappointed. Should definitely not have bought this. :( -
Of all the books I'm this series, this one is my least favorite. There was no build up romance. Dohrein and Gracie were already together before the beginning. We have zero conflict, though a bit of drama, and a lot of information that doesn't really further the story.
Sorry, but it does not do it for me. Getting the bonus story with Hotahn and Jen is a plus, though I'm trying to figure out if she is in her 40s or 60s. There's no clear age spoken, but we know she's basically past her prime. I get it. She's old, not dead. -
I took some heavy time between previous books in the series and this one.I can tell,it was a good choice.I had half forgotten all their stories and also authors writing style,so it was like a fresh breath of air. I recall I had some mixed feelings for Gracie in previous books,but I absolutely loved and adored her here.She is still very sarcastic,foul mouthed,smartest heroine but we get to see her inner world as well. Her relationship with Dohrein is to wish for.
Highly recommend to all extraterrestrial love story lovers. -
No Words
I have no words to describe how I feel about this story. The most descriptive words seem basic to me when it comes to how I feel about my Rahkii and my Hobs. I devoured the first three books of this serious with a single minded intensity that could rival any train and purchased this fourth one within hours of it releasing. This series in permanently on my Book Recommend List and I am forever grateful to a friend for recommending it to me!
