At least, that’s what the dating profile my so-called friends set up for me claims. I’m also into BDSM, Furries and ‘I’ll try anything twice.’
I have no idea the profile exists until the replies start rolling in. They range from funny, to downright creepy and everything in between. Just as I’m shutting down my email account for good, a new message pops up.
He’s funny and he's the only one to suspect the profile is a joke, so I think what the hell? I reply.
When he suggests that we meet, I say yes. When I walk into that bar, he's sitting at a table, facing the other way. He turns his head just enough for me to be able to make out his face…
Fuck.
It’s Cameron Hunter, one of the rudest, most arrogant assholes I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting.
He's also the son of one of the state's most influential judges.
The same judge who's about to become my step-father...

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}
PAYBACK’S A BITCH, the sixth installment of the ”Awkward Love” series by Missy Johnson, is filled with many laugh-out-loud and steamy moments. This is a sweet and oftentimes silly “stepbrother” romance, and I really enjoyed it. Darcy was the crazy best-friend of the Heroine from ”DON’T GO THERE”. I thought she was just a ditzy and immature twenty-year-old, but in her story, I actually felt a little sorry for her.
Darcy’s birthday is on April 1st and her two besties make it a ritual to play some really extremely horrible practical jokes on her. Honestly, with friends like that, she really doesn’t need enemies. They place a kinky and disturbing ad up on some fetish dating website under Darcy’s name and she starts to receive some bizarre text messages and calls. One sicko actually shows up at her parent's house and confronts her. Luckily, her soon to be step-brother, Cameron, comes to her rescue. Darcy and Cameron have a hate/hate relationship and enjoy slinging verbal insults at each other, but deep down there's a simmering attraction burning between them.
Cameron decides to teach Darcy a lesson and reaches out to her regarding her personal add under an alias, and they soon begin an online romance. As time passes, they’re both starting to develop real feelings, but Darcy has no idea that her online love interest is actually Cameron. Cameron knows he has to come clean, but will Darcy be understanding when she finds out that Cameron has been lying to her or will she end up hating him forever?
This one turned out to be my favorite of this series. I thought the plot was entertaining and the characters were likable. I found myself laughing out loud almost throughout the entire book. I even learned about a really disturbing and nasty sexual fetish that actually made me a little nauseous!!
Here are my overall ratings:
Hero: 4.5
Heroine: 4
Plot: 4
Angst: 3.5

Darcy has the unfortunate luck of sharing her birthday with April Fool’s Day. This means that every year her best friends come up with the most outrageous pranks and challenges for her to endure. This year is no exception.
Darcy awakens the morning after her birthday to a huge pile of missed calls, texts and emails from a fake profile that her friends set up for her on ‘Anything Goes.’ If it’s not bad enough that she is another year older and feeling the effects of a hangover - she now has a weirdos sending her dick pics.
Meanwhile, in her family life, her mother is about to get married and that means she will now have a step-brother, the douchey Cameron. At least she doesn’t have to see him very often. After she finally gets her ‘friends’ to take her fake profile down there is one guy that ignites her curiosity so she responds to him. Thus begins a text friendship between Darcy & James.
Darcy enjoys being able to anonymously talk to a guy who is not blatantly flirting and trying to get in her pants with lewd messages. A friendship builds between them until James decides they need to meet in person. That’s when things take a turn for the worst. James is not ‘James’ and Darcy is horrified to discover that the man she felt a connection with is douche canoe step brother Cameron.
Darcy is determined to set things right and she has a whole crock pot of revenge she is planning on dishing out to everyone involved in this ‘joke.’ Payback ‘s a bitch! -

Darcy is a 23 yr. old woman who just finished her psychology degree and is about to start a new job. Her mom recently met and fell in love with one of the most respected judges in California, and he’s about to become her stepdad. Her new family will also include two new stepbrothers. One is younger and annoying, but the other is closer to her age and an arrogant, rude, sexy jerk. Cameron Hunter seems to get joy out of irritating her. Then again so do her best friends Katie & Sasha. Every year since her birthday falls on April Fool’s Day, they take it as an opportunity to embarrass her. It’s become their tradition to prank her. This year for her birthday they place an inappropriate classified personal ad for her. Just as she’s about to shut down the fake profile a new message comes in from a guy that makes her laugh. He realizes it’s a joke, and they begin messaging. They really click and have real chemistry.
She feels a spark, and really likes this guy. She thinks maybe it could lead somewhere so when he suggests they meet in person she agrees. When she arrives she’s stunned to learn her mystery guy is none other than her hot stepbrother just having some fun at her expense. She decides to teach him a lesson and give him a taste of his own medicine. He’s going to be sorry he messed with her because payback’s a bitch, but as her plan evolves it becomes unclear who’s actually being played as real feelings develop.
This was a hilarious stepbrother romance. It was so damn funny, but also has love, emotion, and real connections. I really enjoyed this book and love this series! I can’t wait for the next one!

Darcy and Cameron are enemies. Sort of. Really, they have negative impressions of one another from a distance.
After Darcy's friends post an ad online saying she'll do anything twice, she heard from all types of...unique...suitors.
Cameron decides what needs to be done is to start a text flirtation with Darcy, as "James" who found her through the ad.
Understandably, she's not pleased when she finds out. So she decides to exact revenge.
Pranks and the like are fine in books, unless they are cruel. These were. Situations like this book need to be resolved early enough in the book for there to be time to repair the relationship. There wasn't in this.
I didn't feel a connection between the characters. I felt the dislike, but not the attraction.
Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy this title and I'm not able to recommend it. -

While Payback's A Bitch is the sixth book in the Awkward Love Series it can be read alone, each book in the series has it's own theme/trope and this one is step-siblings. We met Darcy in Don't go There and I had a feeling she would be getting her own book because with a secondary character like her there was no way she couldn't. Darcy is spunky and funny and quick with a quip, she had me laughing out loud more than once in both books.
Darcy has the unfortunate birthday of April Fools Day, which means (for her anyway) that her friends play jokes on her. Every year they have done something awful but this year, YIKES! Darcy's friends run an ad on a dating website for her and the calls and dick pics come flowing in one right after the other. I mean really who does things like this??? Well apparently Darcy did in Don't go There so that is where her friend Katie got the idea....LOL
Cameron Hunter, total jerk according to Darcy but there is something going on that she isn't aware of that has him all out of sorts. I will admit I liked Cameron right away but his brother Mack, *shaking my head* this kid needs to grow up fast and get a book of his own because he is a riot and I would love to see what kind of trouble he gets into before finding his own HFN/HEA.
Cam figures out that Darcy has been set up by her friends with a fake dating profile and he jumps on the bandwagon as a way to make her realize how dangerous it could have been if she met a crazy person but what he didn't figure on was actually starting to develop feelings for her. This goes back and forth as they both find out that the other is playing a *joke* on them and who can out *best* who. But in the end someone always gets hurt don't they.
This has been a fun series of standalone reads. You can read them in any order you like but here is a handy list so you will know what trope each book has in store for you.
It's Complicated - Dad's Best Friend
I Can Explain - Sexy Boss
Too Much Information - Hot Doctor
Comfort Zone - Student / Professor
Don't Go There - Enemies to Lovers
Payback's A Bitch - Stepbrother

OMG! I laughed a lot on this book. I don't know where the author got this pranks ideas but they sure were a lot of fun. I enjoyed both hero and heroine. I think PAYBACK'S A BITCH is my favorite from this awkward love series.
It was fun, a fast reading and enjoyable. I wish for more books like that. It made me smile a lot.

I loved this book! The right amount of charm and humor.
It was the first book I read by Missy Johnson and I am off to read all the other books in the series now! -
Review by Lisa Kane
Darcy has friends who live to torment her with pranks. Her birthday is April Fools Day and that's the one day they strive to pay her back for all the things she does to them all year long.
Darcy starts to get filthy texts on her phone. Texts promising naughty, disgusting acts and texts asking what naughty, disgusting acts she will do. Turns out her friends pulled the ultimate sex ad prank on her.
Darcy's mom is about to marry Jim, a successful judge. He has two kids-Cameron, a gorgeous business man and a twelve year-old Mack. Turns out angry sex following their divorce proceedings proved fruitful..hence..Mack.
Cameron finds out about the ad, and goes a little crazy. Darcy doesn't realize how beautiful she is and is always getting into trouble. It's up to him, her soon to be step brother, to help her out. But he comes up with a prank of his own. This adds a unknown layer to their relationship.
Payback's a Bitch is hilarious and full of witty banter. I have loved this whole Awkward Love series! -
This was such a fun read. Johnson delivers an engaging, laugh out loud, romantic comedy.
I thoroughly enjoyed the witty and, at times, ridiculous back and forth between Cameron and Darcy. They totally cracked me up. As I was reading, I just wanted to shake them both and tell them to just stop with the games and go for it! Their chemistry is palpable and when they finally caved to it, it was steamy! The build and anticipation was perfect.
This was an easy and fantastic read. No crazy drama, just the hilarious games they play with each other. I’m really glad that I’ve discovered Johnson. I like her writing and the stories that she creates. I’m eager to read what I’ve missed and look forward to what she gives us next. -
Haven’t laughed this hard for a while😄

Payback's A Bitch is the newest addition to the Awkward love series. It can be read as stand-alone, but those who have read the previous book (Don't go there) might notice that Darcy also appears there and in this one, we have some cameos. The story was much better in Darcy's book though and I remembered why I liked the series so much. It was fun and I was starting to worry that Cameron would really start cross-dressing for the rest of his life. He didn't seem like that kind of guy from the beginning, but he was very into it. I got why both of them and especially Cameron were insecure about their relationship and I have to say that this story had the most normal developing in the series. What I found weird is that in this book everyone was accepting that these two to-be-stepsiblings were in a relationship while in other books it's a huge taboo and it keeps the main characters apart. The book was good and it was a lovely companion for a summer evening, so I would recommend it.

Darcy and Cam are laugh out loud funny. It starts out with Darcy's friends playing a usual gag on her with April Fools being her birthday she never gets off easy. This time they went a bit crazy by advertising her on a dating web site and let's just say they gave her a lot of freaky tendencies. Darcy and Cam soon to be related through marriage their parents are getting hitched. Cam has always found Darcy interesting and yes she is extremely sexy without trying. He finds out that she is on the dating site and things get a little crazy from there let the hijinks commence !!!!
Funny, sexy and romantic .

Payback's A Bitch by Missy Johnson is book 6 in the Awkward Love Series. This is the story of Cameron and Darcy. This can be a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Darcy was born on April Fools day so she is used to jokes and pranks. But when this year one of the pranks played on her ends up breaking the bearer between her future hot stepbrother and her it turns into something else.
This was such a good easy read! Really enjoyed so much that I have to back track now so I can catch the other stories!~ Loved it. -
This was a really fun book I found myself smiling and giggling alot.
Unfortunately for Darcy her birthday is on April fools day a fact her friends use as an excuse to play practical jokes on her every year. This year's prank is the best seriously I totally cracked up reading it. Her mum is soon to be married and she's going to have a hot stepbrother.
I loved Darcy and her friends they are a great group supportive and fun. The competitive nature of both Darcy and Cameron mean there are some hilarious pranks. When the fun stops will they be able to build on their chemistry ?
If your looking for a fun sexy read you'll love this.

“I’m so sorry to interrupt, but I’ve been trying to work up the courage to come over here and speak with you all night,” I murmur, flashing him a hesitant smile.
I twirl a lock of my long, dark hair around my finger and glance back over at him, doing my best to look embarrassed.
“I’m glad you did.” He hums, giving me an encouraging smile. “So, what can I do for you, sugar?”
“I wanted to ask you something.” I let out a nervous laugh, then I take a deep breath. “God, this is embarrassing, but I was hoping … I wanted to ask you if you’d mind if I, uh, do something for you?”
“Yeah, sure.” He grins.
“It’s probably going to get me booted out of here,” I say with a high-pitched giggle. “But I have this fantasy where I like to be watched, so I was wondering …”
“You want me to watch you?” he murmurs. “Here?”
“I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable,” I add hastily.
“Not at all, darlin’.” He cocks his head to the side and leers at me. “Knock yourself out,” he adds, as he leans back against the bar.
I turn around and assume the position facing away from him. I roll my eyes at Katie and Sasha, who are nearly on the floor, they’re laughing so hard.
I can’t believe I’m doing this … again.
I twist around, swinging my hips to the beat of the song, playing in my head as I dance Gangnam Style, step for fucking step. The expression on this poor guy's face as I whip my imaginary pony is fucking hilarious.
Someone puts the song on their phone, on speaker, which gives me the musical backup I need to really get my groove on. I’ve got quite the little audience going as people clap and whistle, watching me sway my hips. I wink back at Sash and Kat, who are still in hysterics.
You trick a guy into believing you’re about to get off in front of him, in a crowded bar, but then instead, you start dancing Gangnam Style, one time, and suddenly it’s your thing.
“Shit,” I mutter. “That will be Katie. We’re having lunch today.”
“Language,” Mom says in a stern voice.
“Really?” I laugh. “Says the woman who swears like a friggin’ sailor when she’s had half a glass of wine.” I chuckle. “Not to mention the farting. Speaking of, has Jim heard you fart the alphabet yet?”
“I haven’t done that in ten years,” Mom protests, her face turning crimson.
“I know, but it was my thirteenth birthday party you did it at,” I remind her. “I’ll never forget the horrified look on Sash’s mother’s face. And then you made it worse by trying to blame the dog.”
“What? She almost brought it.” She narrows her eyes at me when she talked. “Until you pointed out we no longer had a dog.”
“Hey, all I said was that if Monty made that stench, it was impressive, since he’d been buried in our yard for the last six months.”
“No. I’m annoyed because I had that under control. I’d have kicked the shit out of him if he tried anything,” she explains. “But instead, you swooped in like a fucking hero and now he’s probably hiding around the corner, waiting for you to leave.”
“I think you’d struggle to kick the shit out of a penguin.” I chuckle. She blinks at me and I frown. “Not that I condone violence against—hey,” I gasp.
Out of nowhere, she’s swept my feet from beneath me, tackled me to the ground bending one arm behind my back so hard that I’m doing my best not to squeal like a girl.
“Seven years martial arts,” she whispers in my ear. I wince when she bites down on the lobe. “Now do you wanna tell me how much I need rescuing?” she taunts.
I dig out my phone because I need to see that ad again, this time without some crazy idiot breathing down my neck. I grin because it’s just as amusing the second time around.
I’m the girl who likes the cock in the back hole. In fact, I’ll take it anywhere you want to put it. I’m into BDSM, voyeurism, and I’ll try anything twice.
There’s also nothing sexier than a guy channeling his inner animal and taking me up the ass while dressed as one. You choose which one—I’m easy ;)
Call, text, or email me and remember… the dirtier the better.
Pics are also welcome because I’m a very visual person.
Fuck me. I shake my head, the smile not leaving my face. Imagine her face when she saw that—assuming she isn’t the one who posted it. Or when that first reply came in. God, what I would have paid to have seen that.
“I’m just saying I’ve had bad experiences with online dating,” she says with a shrug. “Anyway, I have to go.” She grabs her jacket and shrugs it on. “Just meet him.”
“Fine.” I sigh. I wasn’t planning on letting this drag out anyway.
Sasha nods. “Good. And if he is who he says he is, then just remember, technically I set up that profile, so he thinks he’s talking to me.”
“Ha, bullshit.” I stand up and yell after her. She waves at me, without looking back. “I don’t care if he masturbates to pictures of his dead grandma in his basement, this one’s all mine,” I holler.
Yeah. That got me some odd looks.
I glower at Mack, who’s paddling on his board a few feet away, heckling me.
“Shut up,” I say, smothering a laugh. “I think I’m doing pretty well, considering I haven’t done this in years,” I add.
“Yeah? Whose fault is that?” Mack taunts. “And no, you’re not doing well. Even by beginner standards, you’re doing shit.” He shakes his head at me. “You call this surfing? You should be ashamed. Lewis could stand on a board better than you are right now.”
“Hey, I’ve been busy at work,” I protest with a laugh. “Something you wouldn’t understand because you’re twelve. And don’t swear at me, you little shithead.”
“Oh, so it’s okay for you to swear but not me?” he says with a chuckle. “That smells like bullshit.”
“I hope it’s okay that I invited a friend?” I ask.
“Only if it’s the hot one.”
Mack?
I groan as he saunters over from the fridge with a can of soda. He sits at the table and grins at me. If I’d known he was going to be here, I would have warned Sash. She’s going to kill me.
“Aren’t you too young to gamble?” I ask.
He winks at me. “I won’t tell if you won’t.” Then he pauses. “Actually, that goes for many things that society may frown upon me doing with you. Or to you.” He pauses again. “Or your hot friend.” He grins at me and raises his eyebrows. “Or both of you...”
Cameron chuckles. “Keep your pants on Don Juan, or you’ll have to leave the table.”
“Don who?” Mack mutters, shaking his head.
They’re all hot, but Cameron is just…” She sighs. “No words.”
“I think the same thing every day.” I laugh. “But not in the same way you are.”
“You really don’t like him, do you?” she asks. She shakes her head, like she can’t comprehend the idea of anyone not liking him.
“It’s not that I don’t like him, it’s more like he likes himself a little too much,” I try to explain. “He’s such a tool. He’s arrogant. Cocky…I could go on for hours, pointing out all the things about him that irritate me,” I add.
“Don’t let me stop you.”
I gasp as Cameron strolls into the kitchen.
I study Darcy for a second. She’s staring off into nothingness, a strange expression on her face. I frown as I stare at her face. She bites her lip and closes her eyes. She looks like she’s having a stroke. I’m just about to ask her if she’s okay, when something cold and wet hits the side of my face.
What the fuck?
Mack’s wide eyes lock on mine. Darcy struggles not to laugh as I slowly reach up and wipe the side of my face. I bring my fingers down in front of me to examine the substance.
“Sour cream?” I ask. I stare at Mack like he’s crazy. “You threw sour cream at my face?”
“Yep,” Mack says confidently. “You looked like you needed something refreshing.”
He leans forward and scoops up a handful of salsa, hurling it across the table, right at my face.
“There.” Mack grins at me. “Now, all you need are some corn chips, and you’re set.” -
I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.
Having never read a book by Missy Johnson, I had no idea what to expect but was excited to meet a new author's work. I couldn't wait to get started because I absolutely adore step brother romances. It is something about the slightly forbidden and often love/hate aspect of their relationship that makes me all giddy inside. After being introduced to Missy's characters and getting to know Darcy and Cameron a little bit, I can say that I liked the story line but I did not connect well with the characters and found their pranks towards one another to be over the top, cruel, and outright ridiculous! The character that ended up being my favorite was Darcy's soon to be step brother Mack, who was mischievous and fancied himself to be a young Casanova. He always inspired laughter and had wisdom far beyond his 12 years of age.
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I am lover of all different genres of romance and do not have high expectations of the books I read. I just wish for a few hours of entertainment with a couple of fictional friends and of course I always crave a happy ever after. I just didn't care for Payback's A Bitch from the characters to all of their actions. Maybe it was because I did not start the Awkward Love series at the beginning, but I am always willing to give an author a second chance. Who knows, maybe Missy Johnson will make me fall in love with her writing with her next book and leave me singing her praises. -
✯✯4 Furry Stars!!!✯✯
Missy Johnson legit has me crying with every single book she writes. I’m either crying bc it’s one of those ugly cry stories OR bc I’m laughing so hard I can’t help it. This Awkward Love series is hysterical.
We meet Darcy in the previous story Don’t Go There and she had me giggling whenever she popped up. So, I was glad to see she was getting a book. You don’t need to read the previous books but if you’re looking for great light funny reads then I’d suggest you read them.
Darcy just moved back in with her mom, soon to be stepdad & younger stepbrother Mac. Her stepdad got her an internship so for now it’ll work.
Darcy’s birthday just happens to be on April fools day and every year her two best friends pull out the pranks. Just when Darcy thought she’d had the ground rules set for them they top themselves.
Darcy wakes up to find out that her friends set up a personal ad for her on one of those websites for BDSM, furries and everything goes types of fetishes. And, her profile was an everything goes type. Omg I’d legit kill my friends I’m just saying lmao.
The texts, calls and emails Darcy received were interesting. But, there was one email that caught her eye. Darcy starts talking to James bc he’s the only one who figured out her profile must’ve been a fake. They start talking and have a connection. Darcy even tells him about her obnoxious, arrogant, douche soon to be stepbrother Cameron. When James wants to meet she agrees. But, when she walks in Darcy’s pissed. James is there but James isn’t James.... James is actually Cameron... Her soon to be stepbrother and major pain in her butt.
Cameron has just moved back home bc of work. His dads getting ready to get remarried. Cameron is dealing with his own feelings and issues with his dad and him remarrying.
When Cam learns about Darcy’s ad he knows it’s gotta be a fake. But, he decides what the heck and messages her. Cam didn’t expect to have a connection to Darcy that he has.
These two are a lot alike. They’re both headstrong, love competition and insist on being the winner.
When Cam comes clean to Darcy that he’s talking to her and not James, it doesn’t end there. Cam and Darcy are both out to one up the other and OMG the things they did to each other and themselves just to beat the other was priceless. If I could get a guy that looks like Cam to dress the way Darcy did no joke I wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face.
This is a must read!! Once I opened it there was no putting it down just like the previous ones in this series. I’m looking forward to more book in this series. -
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
I'm the girl who likes "the backdoor". At least, that's what the dating profile my so-called friends set up for me claims. I'm also into BDSM, Furries and I'll try anything twice. I have no idea the profile exists until the replies start rolling in . They range from funny, to downright creepy and everything in between. Just as I'm shutting down my email account for good, a new message pops up. He's funny and he's the only one to suspect the profile is a joke, so I think what the heck? I reply. When he suggests that we meet, I say yes. When I walk into that bar, he's sitting at a table, facing the other way. he turns his head just enough for me to be able to make out his face. Crap. It's Cameron Hunter, on of the rudest, most arrogant butt heads I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. He's also the son of one of the states most influential judges. The same judge who is about to become my stepfather.
If you have read a book in this Awkward Love Series then you know that they have humor in them. However this book is filled with the main female characters friends playing practical jokes on her all the time. I would have had a fit if my friends had ever done the things they do to me. Especially the fake dating profile that make her seem like a girl who will try anything. It really pulls the weirdo's out of the woodwork. It also puts Darcy in some really awkward situations. However none could be worse than finding out her future stepbrother Cam is the only one who realized that profile had to be fake and in doing so caught Darcy's attention and led to them agreeing to meet up. Darcy is not a fan of Cam and thinks that he is arrogant, selfish and just generally not someone that she is very thrilled to be around. However neither one of them likes to lose and take the word competition to a whole new level. This book will have you laughing out loud and swooning all in the same chapter. If you like funny romantic books then you are sure to enjoy Payback's A Bitch. -
Missy is fast becoming one of my favorite authors to read. Her books are funny and romantic all at the same time and of course those are some of my favorite books to read. But it has to be done just right, sometimes the comedy part of some books I’ve read have fallen flat not Missy’s tho. In this book it all starts out as a joke but goes downhill fast. Because Darcy and Cam just keep going back and forth with each other. Neither of them like to lose and both very competitive. And it doesn’t help matters in the least that Darcy doesn’t really have high standards of Cam in the first place. She thinks he’s arrogant and selfish and a bit of a butthead. But as they get to know each other when she thinks he’s someone else some of those feelings change except is it the “real” him or just all part of the game.
This book kept me rolling on what they were going to come up with next to try and top each other. And then all the dates had me swooning. I really loved this book and have loved this series and can’t wait for the next book!! I highly highly recommend this book. -
Get ready to laugh until tears are streaming down your face and your sides are hurting! Missy Johnson brought all the giggles, laughs, snorts, gasps with Darcy and Cameron! I knew after meeting Darcy that her book would be the funniest one yet, and I was right! What starts as a few pranks turns into an all out war with confusing emotions on both sides and two people aren't sure sure what is a game and what is real.
Darcy is the funniest chick yet! She isn't scared of much, and she definitely has a huge sense of humor. She has such a fun personality that you can't help but wish you were her best friend! I wasn't sure about Cameron at first, he did come across too cocky and too full of himself. But that changes quickly and you realize he's truly a great guy who is funny and sweet. A great combination that meshes perfectly well with Darcy!
I just love all of Missy Johnson's books, she brings a smile to my face that lasts for days! -
Can you imagine you birthday being on April Fool’s day? Well, I’m sure some people can, lol. In Payback’s a Bitch, the sixth in the hilarious ‘Awkward Love’ series by Missy Johnson that’s exactly what Darcy is living with and having to deal with her two best friends who love nothing more than to prank her on her special day. She’s always got them back, until this year.
This is way worse than normal and Darcy has to sort through some creepers after they set her up with a BDSM dating profile. But one guy in particular lights her fancy and she decides to meet him. Then she gets an even bigger shock when she sees who he is.
Her soon to be step brother.
Cameron only wants to show Darcy just how dangerous these kind of dating sites are He didn’t mean to get interested in her, never mind fall for her. But, can they have a real relationship when their parents have only just tied the knot?
I loved this book, and as usual Missy left me with a huge smile on my face. -
I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.
This is a funny and HOT story about payback being a bitch and it starts as Darcy's friends play a practical joke on her with the dating profile from hell.
Cameron is her step brother to be and he finds out about her profile and messages her and that's how the two start getting to know the other. Cam is pretty decent and while they text each other and flirt. He eventually comes clean and I loved how he dealt with the fireworks. Meanwhile both get revenge on each other in all the best ways.
This was a very fun step sibling romance with lots of fun revenge antics thrown into the mix. It is well written and a fun light reading romance. -
I enjoyed the overall premise of this book but there were quite a few awkward moments. I have no problem with stepsiblings falling in love since they aren’t related at all as long as they didn’t grow up together. And that’s not the case with Cameron and Darcy since they met as adults. But I do have an issue with a 12 year old talking crassly about sex and cursing up a storm, which happened quite a bit. I felt the games went a little too far until I didn’t know what was real and what was fake anymore. I did enjoy the characters of Cameron and Darcy though which is what kept me coming back to read the whole book.

What a blast! This story was so much fun. A bit corny, lots of laugh out loud moments and even some serious parts thrown in the mix. Having met Darcy in Book 5, I suspected going in this story was going to be off the charts and sure enough, the author delivered. Even though we did meet Darcy in an earlier story, this one does stand perfectly fine on its own.
The chemistry and tension between Darcy and Cameron were off the charts. Loved the text play between the two. However, the secondary characters were really the icing on the cake and rounded out the entire story, Mack especially. This story had some of the best (and funniest) secondary characters ever. I really hope we get to read more about them in the future. -
I went into this book not sure what to think lol. I won't lie I probably laughed 85% of this book. Darcy is a true prankster and when her friends prank her its to the extreme. Cameron and her are something else but in a funny way it just works. The dynamic between them is unique and fun to go along with. These two prank each other and they are hilarious but they end up hurting each other also. In the end it all works out!!!

I loved this one. Had become a favorite of Missy's. She had me on the floor rolling with laughter during some of this book. The different things these two do to each other to get back at each other. You will love this one. There is so much humor in this one. I loved Darcy and her will power to get payback. But I absolutely loved the end.Highly recommend this one.

I can't stop smiling!
This book was a quick, easy read packed with loads if laughs, sexual tension and love. My only objection is that there's not more for me to read. I love it when a book can both make me crack up and get me all hot and bothered at the same time. Two enthusiastic thumbs up! -
Unlikely but good
Two tricksters keep trying to one up each other in this unlikely love story. I enjoyed the banter between the characters. The editing is improved over the previous books in this series which is a great plus. Will most likely read the next book when it's available. -
3.5 Hilarious Stars!!
This is my first read from Missy Anderson. The humor and dialogue in the book is great. The back and forth antics of the characters is a bit much and over the top. I would’ve liked less silliness and more depth to their relationship. Overall, a fun light read.
