Life isn't strictly black and white, and those shades of gray in the middle can trip you up, throw you a curve ball and change your whole outlook.
Brandon...my Achilles heel all through school, from kindergarten through my senior year. He pulled my hair, tripped me in the halls, gave me a horrible nickname that makes me cringe even now, and generally made my life hell.
When I stumble upon an antique shop I've never seen before, I'm presented with the opportunity of a lifetime...PAYBACK. I'm given the chance to make him worship me, to make him do anything I ask, to make him debase himself in front of everyone who cheered him on back in the day. But...can I do it? Can I take my revenge and make his life as hellish as he made mine? Or will I discover that things aren't always what they seem from the outside looking in?
Hi, I’m Zoe and this is my story.
This novella was previously released as a short story with the same title. It’s been cleaned up, polished, improved, expanded and released under a different pen name. 17+ due to mature language and situations.

    Falling For Her Bully...
With This RING I Get Even...
At least that was the plan, but y'all know that saying about the best laid plans RIGHT...
Well, when she wakes up after getting beaned by a Softball, she ends up learning just how far plans can be altered from their original course...
I was granted an ARC of
    CL Rowell's "
No Fat Chicks" via Booksprout; I'm gladly recommending it based upon its own merits. I enjoyed this book as this short story is on par, & I'll look forward to more opportunities to read
CL Rowell's work in the future. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given.
    Until next time... Happy Reading!

I'm still laughing my behind off because of that ending LOL
This is a short, sweet, adorable story about love, second chances, and family.
CL Rowell packed this beautifully. It's fast-paced with characters that were relatable and lovely, even though their time on these pages was short.
Brandon and Zoey represent a group of people that have to live with the pressure of being the daughters or sons of rich parents. The expectations of those parents can get overwhelming and frustrate a child's life forever. I know some ex-classmates that had parents on the upper-middle class that had this same exact problem. They lived a life that they did not want and end up resented or resentful, or worse, they want their children to accomplish the dreams they themselves didn't.
What retract from my rating of this book was how the "fat chick" became the "hot babe". You have to read the book to find out what I'm talking about *wink*
I would recommend this book to those that need or like a short sweet romance, where a touch of magic seems to be the reason of the good in life until you realize not everything is like you thought it was.

Very short story that I enjoyed a lot.
Zoe has been picked on her whole life by Brandon and has been bullied and ridiculed basically in front of her whole school. She comes across an antique shop and purchases a ring that can help her get Brandon to fall for her and get her revenge. After an incident that lands her in a coma for six months, Brandon turns out to be the nicest guy ever and seems that he's trying to make it up to her. However, is the ring responsible for Brandon's change in behavior or has he always been interested in her?

I really enjoyed this quick read. With a plot that is so very relatable, Zoe and Brandon's story has a blend of cute, sweet and funny, that makes this book so very likable. Add in a few surprising twists and some powerful realistic emotions and this book grabs and keeps your interest. If I have one complaint it is that I wish this had been a full length book. I would have loved to see this story more fleshed out and more character development; so we could get deeply into the hearts and minds of these characters. This is my honest, voluntary review.

A short, sweet, fast paced romance about love, second chances, family with lovely relatable characters. Zoe has been teased and humilated for ever from Branden. When she comes across a ring with powers, she thinks she will have her revenge. It's a story that grabbed my attention from the start and it has everything from being funny, sweet, likeable and included twists and intense emotions. A lovely short romance.

I really enjoyed this novella. Usually I'm skeptical about believing that you can get a real story when it's so short but this one was convincing. Jumping ahead six months helped but the story was believable and made root for them. A bully and victim story is tricky enough to address but loved how it was tackled.

This young adult romance was sweet in regards to how two high school students find love after a lifetime relationship full of want, adoration, repulsion and embarrassing mistreatment. We all think we are the only one who’s awkward, challenging home lives, and a reputation to maintain; but here these brave young people find their way together and I enjoyed a great deal.. cenjoy.

  • Brandy

Zoe gets picked on for her weight and what hurts her more is that the one boy she has a crush on picked on her to Brandon. Zoe comes across a store she never noticed before. Eaddies Antiques and Oddities is not your normal store. It only becomes visible to those that need something it can provide. Loved this storyline it is amazing and kept me wanting more. I Highly Recommend over 18 DUE TO CONTENT.

Zoe was always bullied for being overweight until fate stepped in. She found herself in a magic shop where an old woman offered her a ring that would make anyone fall in love with her. Brandon was the bane of her existence so she fell for it. Little did she know that he actually did love her and her accident was the shove that he needed to prove himself and get on his own. It is a sweet love story.

Love Brandon and Zoe! This is a great story about how the little boy teasing you in grade school could really be doing it because he likes you and doesn't have the courage to say it. And then years later wants to step up and truly let his heart lead him. BRAVO!!

This is a funny, well written short story with great characterization. The ending was a bit rushed and a lot of information was left out. So many twists and turns in this story a couple that goes through a lot before they get their HEA.
    Recommendable read.

  • Jennifer Richey

So many twists and turns wow Zoe and Brandon’s story what they went through the ups and downs so many crazyness. Can’t wait to read more!

  • Judy Phillips

Very good short read about second chances and romance between two characters that have known each other for a while. I enjoyed this one very much. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.

  • Jessica Wannamaker

Zoe loves antiques and finding vintage jewelry, especially when stumbling on one with a special magic attached to a ring. It helps those that hate you have a change of heart so you can inact your revenge or so it says...

Brandon is a rich boy that’s always picked on Zoe- so has his sister. But maybe the ring works when he defends Zoe at softball for the first time ever. Unfortunately that led to a face off with his sister and a hospital stay for Zoe.

After her injuries heal it brings Brandon and her closer- but is it real, can it be trusted or is it her new figure and guilt promoting this or the ring?

This was an okay read- it was cute but a little slow for me, not enough character development or events to really show the romance, plus I couldn’t feel their chemistry either. Decently written just anticlimactic. Also ending was abrupt. Did they get their careers, how did her family react? His family?

I also found certain points I couldn’t relate to, or felt weren’t believable like dream sex... leading to their first time together. At some points the book felt old fashioned and other times complete opposite throwing the context of the story.

I rate it 2 stars because of how it was written, well edited, just boring for me. Idea of the ring intrigued me and I liked the cover, title though bugged me- because it doesn’t represent the story.

Read better suited for a young adult audience. Simply not my cup of tea- would read from this author again though to see if the stories get better.
