The Body Keeps the Score / Trauma and Recovery / Hidden Healing Powers Reviews

As a Dip HE student I would say this is a MUST read for any therapist. I thoroughly enjoyed this theory model. I saw lots of validity in it. It’s a book that I put off reading as I thought it would be too “ in depth” but it isn’t. It’s actually totally relatable for non-therapist too. I think may could benefit for this book on a personal front if they have been exposed to trauma . It offers so insights and rays of light.

I honestly think every person in America should read this book! If trauma doesn’t affect you personally, it affects someone you know. This book opened my eyes to how my trauma has negatively impacted my life, and given me tools on how to better accept and live with the traumatic events I have lived through. I spent a lot of my life in survival mode and I’m ready to step out of that mode and start really experiencing life.

One of the most important books I have ever read. I bought it before I finished my library rental version. If you or anyone you love struggles with mental illness, adhd, addiction, trauma, read this book.

Audiobook. Very comprehensive presentation of the effects of trauma and the options available for treatment, incorporating published research. Sean Pratt, the audiobook reader, was excellent.
