Completely loved it.

Brilliant Development of Plots
Reading these books has made me feel like a resident of Marlowe House. One of the things that I enjoy the most is the flow of gossip in the village. It provides information AND really brings the characters to life. no pun intended. It mystifies me how an author can invent such a complex scheme and make it happen with a host of characters. I'm officially addicted to this series -
This poor town, it was so quiet before Danielle showed up.
Love how this turned out!! -
Man Danielle has the worst luck in this series lol
-
More like 2,5
On to the next one! -
I like the ghost and many of the side characters but Danielle is very inconsistent. Sometimes she seems like an interesting character and others she falls in the TSTL category. I won't continue this series.

So hooked on these books
Bobbi Holmes has become another of my favorite authors! If you like mystery, murder, and spooks, you will love these books! I know I do! On to number 5 -
I don't know why I'm still going

This was quick and fast paced story that builds of the last one. While Lily is recuperating at home, the fallout from her time held at the Gusarov home continues. Stoddard Gusarov is murdered before he can face legal justice and with his dying breath names Danielle as his murderer. A dying declaration Witnessed by his wife and Officer Brian, Danielle is arrested as soon as she arrives home from an outing to purchase a piano from a home owner who never showed. Unfortunately for the real killers, someone saw Danielle during the crucial time, providing her with a solid alibi.
With a vengeful ghost haunting her, murder attempts, suspicious cops breathing down her neck, conspiracies abound, dueling wills, mysterious trusts, Danielle tries to sort through the clues before she becomes the next victim. -
4.5 Stars... Once again Danielle finds herself dead center in a murder mystery... Someone is framing her for murder, an angry ghost wants revenge, and a hit man has been sent to end her very existence; life is certainly complicated for Danielle Boatman... The plot thickens and twists and turns as the players all take center stage and motives are revealed; a real "who done it" evolves and keeps the reader guessing until the very end... Another entertaining and engaging story in this captivating series that keeps me wanting more.:)

Loved it!!! Continuing story of Isabelle and her family (from The Ghost Who Wasn't). Danielle and her friends (and not so much friends) get involved with another murder. Strong characters, humor and twists throughout the book.

This was a super cute book! I liked this story alot! I never see the ending coming!

2.75 stars (Audible). Very complicated (+ long) plot for a cozy mystery.

These books are cute. Fun light read.

Keeps you guessing 😉
This was very well thought out and written. It kept me guessing the entire time and had me suspicious of everyone. I really enjoyed the development and the braided stories of families. It definitely makes me want to continue the series.
On to the next book 📖 ☺️ -
I’m amazed at this author’s ability to keep track of little storylines and keep characters true to themselves. I haven’t found one single contradicting note or thought. I have to take a little break from the series to do some reading for book club but then I’ll be back for the next one!

The Ghost Who Wanted Revenge by Bobbi Holmes
Rating: 5 stars
Trigger Warning: murder
There’s been another murder and once again Danielle is thrust back into the spotlight. Stoddard Gusarov has named Danielle as the one who shot him before he died in his wife’s arms and in the presence of a police officer. Someone is trying to frame Danielle for the murder, but why? And before the murderers are even captured another murder happens in town and the victim . . . Stoddard’s wife. Meanwhile, Stoddard’s ghost is set on haunting Danielle and out for revenge over his murder.
This book is hands down the best one in the series so far. This is the first book in the series where I didn’t figure out who the murderer was until the end. This one kept me guessing, and that is the best feature of this book. Also the police chief, MacDonald, is starting to become a more major character at this point and he knows Dani can see ghosts and believes her! Honestly, if Dani and Walt can’t be a couple Dani and MacDonald would be a couple I would root for. Also, Joe has slightly redeemed himself in this book for being Dani’s alibi (even if he was a creeper about it). He didn’t redeem himself enough for me to like him though.
I really don’t have issues with this book. I mean the narrator for the audiobook is still annoying with the female characters’ voices, but it’s a safe bet to say it’s probably the same narrator for all the books (or at least most). My biggest issue with the books being predictable kinda went away with this one since I didn’t figure out who the murderers were until the end. They’re still kinda predictable with Danielle being at the center of everything but what else can you expect when she’s the main character and they’re murder mysteries. Besides, the police department would never solve any murders without her.
If you are debating about reading this series, this book alone should make you start. It was fantastic. Murder mystery lovers, this is right up your alley. -
So far, every book has been better than the previous, which is unusual. Most of us look forward to a sequel, but don't expect it to be better than the first. This series seems to be the exception for me.
In the previous year, Danielle Boatman has lost her husband, but found he was cheating on her. The pain of this betrayal has her selling the company they started and looking for a new start. It doesn't help that she can see ghosts who haven't moved on. However, she finds her new start in an unexpected inheritance from a Great Aunt by marriage, The Marlowe House. But Marlowe house comes with secrets and the town, a wide variety of characters. The main character is Walt Marlow, a Ghost, excuse me, a spirit (Walt does not like the term ghost) who died in his own attic at the age of 25. He has decided he doesn't want to "move on" to the next part of his journey. There's a touch of romance in the air, but where can a Spirit and a live woman's relationship go?
Danielle has her best friend back, but someone is out to kill Gusarov, the man who kidnapped Lily. When the killer succeeds, Gusarov lives long enough to name Danielle as his killer. The police are looking closely as Lily sues Gusarov's estate for being kidnapped and held against her will, and not getting her the treatment she needed, and for tattooing her in an attempt to use her as a replacement for the heiress. Can Danielle prove her innocence and solve the murder? -
I'm really liking this series. I like that the police chief knows Danielle's ability so that she doesn't have to keep making up stories about why she knows things or how things happen. I'm glad that Brian finally got a taste of his own medicine -- and he didn't like it at all. I like the complex (nearly convoluted) plots that keep you guessing. It's kind of boring when you guess who the murderer is in the first 25% of the book and then it's frustrating because the protagonist can't see what's right in front of them. In this book, you keep thinking, "It's this person. But wait! It can't be them because of this. So it must be that other person, but then the first person says something, and you're back again, then a third person with suspicious actions comes into the picture, so ... what are they up to?"
A couple of things I didn't like were (1) the fact that Lily had to have antibiotic injection treatments AT HOME twice a day. Is that even a thing? Shouldn't she be in the hospital on a drip? That whole thing seemed contrived. (2) That this isn't a stand-alone story. The murders are connected to a previous murder in the last book. I like it when the characters continue to grow and develop through a series, but when one plot continues into the next book (after everything's been wrapped up with a nice bow on top), it starts to feel like a soap opera. I want a new story, not a continuation of the last one. So I took off a point for that. -
I am so into this series! I love every part of it. I love the characters, I love the resident ghost in Marlow House, I love the innovative mysteries, and I love how the story line continues from one book to another, even though each book is a separate story.
Danielle Boatman, series protagonist, and the proprietor of Marlow House B&B, is well known to the local police force. In previous books she was briefly suspected of crime (of course she didn't do it!) but with his dying breath Stoddard Gusarov, local wealthy business magnate, names Danielle as his murderer. Danielle has issues with Stoddard galore but she didn't kill him. Worse yet, she is constantly haunted by a very angry ghost- Stoddard! He truly believes that she killed him. There are so many twists and turns, as there always is, and Danielle is in danger a few times. Her ghost-friend Walt Marlow comes to her rescue. Policeman Joe Morelli, who started out as a romantic interest in the first book but lost favor when he believed Danielle to have committed a crime in the second book, slowly regains footage in this book, and the police chief learns about Danielle's gift of talking to the spirits.
Best of all, there are many more books in this series for me to buy and read! -
The Ghost Who Wanted Revenge (Haunting Danielle Book 4) Bobbi Holmes, Anna J. McIntyre, Elizabeth Mackey (41 chapters) Oct 18-19, 2020
This story again starts on a gruesome note as a character form the previous book is killed....by Danielle. Wait, wha?
Yes, the victim swears, with his wife and a cop—the one that doesn’t much care for Danielle—as his witnesses.
From there, this story gets a bit wonky, because after the victim passes, he starts haunting Danielle’s B&B at all hours, but he won’t stop and listen to what Danielle has to say to him.
After Danielle has an ironclad alibi, she starts putting clues together to figure out who really is responsible for the murder. And it’s all leading back to the wife.
When the victim become angry and as a ghost scratches Danielle, she starts worrying that this is a new development she never saw coming.
A decent read. This was the last story in the 4-book set. I will definitely need to keep a look out for discounts on the continuing series (there are a whopping 26 in the series so far!) I really enjoyed the stories and the characters and I hope to continue to read this series before several more years pass.
Four stars. -
This was quite a thrilling book, and I am so pleased to say that the author was nowhere near as repetitive as she had been in the previous books in the series. Although it took me a bit longer to finish, when I did get the time to read, I didn’t want to put it down. There were so many plot twists here that each time I thought I had the who-done-it figured out, something changed and I was left guessing again. My only issue was that I felt the editing could have been better. There were several punctuation errors, although I actually wonder if the eBook version is any different from the print version in this aspect. It doesn’t really matter much, I’m looking forward to finding out about the Halloween ghost, so on to the next installment!

After kidnapping and almost killing her best friend, Stoddard Gusarov uses his dying breath to accuse Danielle of killing him. As if the local constabulary believing her guilty isn't enough, Stoddard's angry ghost has decided to hover outside Marlow House. Even dead he's determined Danielle is guilty.
Luckily, Danielle was seen elsewhere during the murder - by none other than Joe Morelli. Joe still thinks she's crazy and needs a keeper but at least the captain believes Danielle really sees ghosts. There's hope for them all yet.
Books one and four are my faves so far. I may keep at these. Nice cozy paranormals. -
Another fun read and nice mystery from the Haunting Danielle series. This book continues on from Book #3. The Ghost Who Wanted Revenge is Stoddard Gusarov. He wants revenge because right before he is murdered he is made to believe that it was Danielle. Has she been perfectly framed, or did she actually do it? If not, who did? Who would benefit? I sort of suspected, but had no idea who the accomplice might have been and why. This book not only picks up where the last one ended, but it also provides a teaser to the next in the series (which I have already started reading). Fun series; great characters. Nice continuity so far.

Good Story
This one takes up right after the last book. Something bad happens to the man who kidnapped Lily in the last book. And he is raging mad at Dani. This book's mystery was more complex, with lots of people involved. It was a masterful set-up. And I am becoming invested in many of the characters, not just Dani and Walt. I love Dani's best friend Lily. And I am really liking the chief of police. I am looking forward to starting the next book in the series. -
Good story
Danielle is in trouble again. She is accused of murder. We learn more about the police in that town. More danger appears. Author really seems to have a thing about fishtail braids which are frankly not that pretty.
This story had quite an intricate plot with a lot of different players. The ghost what is evolving a fiendish manner. The clever plot and unique characters make this book a stand out. -
Expect Surprises
The 4th book in this series might just be the best one yet. I changed my mind so many times while I was reading this book about who the culprit was , why he/she chose to do terrible things, and how that person pulled it off. My ONLY complaint is that Walt is not a part of the story enough. Cannot wait to read more in the series! Hey, Authors, WE WANT MORE WALT!!
