Geographics Biomes Reviews
-
The bright illustrations and various text features give students an opportunity to understand the Biomes of our world. I would highly recommend this book as students are able to discover text features while learning about our world.

Starting with a definition of what a biome is, readers are then presented with a map showing the more important ones around the world. Yosemite, Antarctica, the Amazon Rain Forest, The Serengeti, The Sahara Desert, The Nile river and the Great Barrier Reef are examples. The map is color coded so readers will understand how climate and temperature affect each biome. In the section on forests, Taiga and temperate forests are described with animals and trees found in each. After that, each of the biomes is highlighted in a two page spread with location(s) animal and plant adaptations, layers (in the rainforests) and examples of biodiversity are shown. A glossary and a self test covering information in the book complete the text.
Overall, this is a decent introductory book for school and public libraries to consider for their collections.
