The 3rd and final installment of the series is coming out in Aug.

I initially questioned whether or not I would continue this series because I wasn’t a huge fan of the message Bought was sending. But I decided to give Ravaged a go and see if Brown managed to explain or redeem that message, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Ravaged picks up where Bought left off. Ben and Kimani are still figuring out the dynamic of their relationship; Kimani’s still trying - quite poorly - to be covert about her undercover story; Ben’s still trying to figure out what Kimani’s hiding; Jake is becoming even more of a monster; the other women are still stupidly naïve in regards to their own well-being; and Ben and Kimani finally take a trip to Pound Town.

I preferred Ravaged over the first book mostly because I felt like there was less force being used on Kimani and the importance of consent was more abundant in the plot. There were still some scenes of humiliation, but Kimani’s strength and Ben’s seemingly non-malicious intentions worked in the story’s favor.

Brown’s ability to weave meaningful discussions about social injustice remains as natural as ever and it adds greatly to the characters’ personalities. Ben and Kimani have a lot of common ground, but their disagreements really add to their chemistry and sexual tension, too.

The story does have a cliffhanger, but it’s low-key enough to not make me angry that I need to wait another month for the next book.

The story begins where book 1 ends, Ben continues to explore the world of BDSM with Kimani as his sub. The way he treated Kimani you would have thought he was falling in love with her. He's so attentive and protective of her. Ben is so naughty here and Kimani likes it!

EM Brown really knows how to stimulate your senses with this book. I'm excited to know what will happen next. It's a cliffy ending, but overall I enjoyed it!

    Hot Read 5+*

OMG 😲! If this book does not get your sexual appetite up, I can't imagine what it would take to get it up. Fascinating and intriguing, I absolutely could not put this very well written story down. I don't care for cliffhangers but "Ravaged" is too much of a treat to pass over.

Ben & His Pet in San Francisco

    This is a BDSM book.
Kimani, an aspiring journalist, goes undercover as a participant at an underground auction. The auction sells women to the highest bidder for one week of kinky sex. Her best friend and roommate had done the auction, but instead of a week of pleasure, she returned brutally beaten and abused. Kimani wants to find out who destroyed her best friend and write an exposé of the auction.

Ben purchased Kimani for one week of sexual play from a business associate. He’s a Dom with beliefs in Taoism and incorporates the philosophy into his sexual interludes. Kimani aka Pet, has experience with BDSM, but not to the extent she indicated on the auction paperwork. Master Ben quickly realizes this, but the challenge to get her to submit willingly is the ultimate prize. He also knows his inquisitive pet is hiding something after catching several lies.

Overall, this is an excellent written story. There are a few editing errors, but not enough to distract the flow. Sexy time and steam is hot enough to burn your kindle. My least favorite part is the timeline. There is a lot of background, telling of Kimani’s intentions, the other characters and two and a half days that Ben & his Pet are together. Yes, I understand this book is part of a series, but I hoped to get more than a travel day, their day at the cabin and a partial day in San Francisco. The penthouse playroom scene is intense, burning hot and communicates the relationship well.

This is NOT a standalone book, but the ending is done really well. It gives the reader something to look forward to. As an avid reader, I found it refreshing and look forward to reading the remainder of this series. Yes, highly recommend!

I received this book to review through bookfunnel ARC

Ben had bought Kimani from Jake she saved her life. Kimani worked a journalist and was undercover on a story about the Scarlet Auction.

Kimani is held at a cabin upstate with other women. Ben takes her to buy some clothes to wear on the way home. When they get back to the cabin Jake was once again being a fasshole but Ben stuck up for her and told Jake to back off. Kimani went along with Ben’s plan but she didn’t like it one bit she needed to get to the cell phone to call Sam. Kimani doesn’t know that Ben had her checked out. The main reason she was there besides getting dirt on the the Scarlet Auction. Kimani wanted to know who had beat Melissa. Ben her Master was different he was not really demanding but she had to follow some rules. Ben had to leave to go to San Francisco for a meeting and he took Kimani with him. Ben also found her pen and noticed it wasn’t a real pen. Kimani asks Ben to check on Claire she wanted to know if she was safe. Kimani was staying with him in his penthouse and he shows her his playroom. Ben likes the way Kimani has the fire in her and was not afraid to try new things. This is a another cliffhanger that will go into the next installment. This is a hot book graphic sex.

The sex is no longer vanilla. This is the second part of the series and things have really heated up between Kimani and Ben. She is beginning to trust him and he's showing her what BDSM is. Of course, he doesn't realize this is her first introduction because she indicated she was experienced on the auction questionnaire. He seems like a good Dom and intuitive so I'm surprised he hasn't yet begun to doubt her experience. I think he's more lenient with her than a real Dom would be with an experienced sub. I enjoyed the developing story and can see they're forming a bond even though neither thinks it's anything more than sex.

Kimani is making some progress with her story but I wonder where things will lead with her information about Ben and his family. Hopefully that doesn't blow up in their faces.

I'm enjoying the series and was happy to see some real bedroom action. I didn't see the twist coming and can't wait to read the next part. I want Kimani and Ben to develop a real relationship and I want Jake to get a taste of his own medicine.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I am still not "Ravaged" by Em Brown's His For A Week series. Em has the erotic elements on par and to a capitalized T, but the story line and development, I just didn't see the path. At the end of this book I really thought Ben would have at least uncovered or drugged out her 'why-ness'/secrets but I am still scratching my head on where this story line is going.

The secondary characters in this book are just too much for my liking also. I want to punch Jake who pisses me off to no end. I assume he is the villain as to the message at the end.

Kimani and Ben are truly perfect together in their own ways with both great hearts. At least this author did a great job pairing the hero & heroine together. However, I am seeing that this series is not not for me. It does have potential just needs some help in the plotting.

Definitely better than the free teaser of Book 1. There was actually more of a book to read. Hot erotic sex scenes. Great chemistry between Kimani and Benjamin besides the sex scenes as they enjoy each other's company and conversation and you can feel the growing connection. What is not realistic is how Kimani got herself into this situation especially on her answers to the questionnaire that she is into everything at level of 5 being the highest of enjoyment. She had a 3.8 from Stanford and other great experiences and qualities and doing this to land a journalism job. She is undercover, but already crossed the line in so many ways. Benjamin already know she is lying to him, but he is playing along as he likes his playtoy, but he is way to free with his negotiation deals. Another cliff hanger, now with Jake (the snake) calling in his loan as the rules of the auction contract state he cannot sell his purchase, in this case, Kimani to a third party, Benjamin. What will happen to Kimani when she goes back to the racist, misogynist jerk.

    Kimani and Ben’s story continues

Ravaged is the second installment in Ben and Kimani’s erotic story. Ben is still trying to find out what Kimani is hiding. He remains more of nurturing Dom while Jake is definitely the villain. Slowly Kimani is melting to the idea of being Ben’s pet, a whole new world of sexual torture, pain and pleasure have opened her eyes. As she continues her investigation into the Scarlet Auction, she falters a bit on the decision to delve further into the auction or capitalize on bringing down Ben.

Ben has his own ideas about Kimani, and as they are trying out the dynamics of their relationship the sex gets hotter and feelings start growing. The story is a bit drawn out and I had a hard time focusing. I was just wishing more depth to the characters. There is a doozy of a cliffhanger towards the end. I hope we have a conclusion to this series soon. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I received the first book, "Bought", as a promotion to read this author and was not very happy with the cliffhanger and the fact that it was a continuation based book. However, once hooked on the story I found myself buying this one, "Ravaged".

Although the story has gotten better between our two main characters, Ben and Kamani, this book makes the story a bit longer than necessary and again leaves us with a cliffhanger so that you will have to buy at least one more book come August.

I will be truthful, that although I like this book somewhat and gave it 4 stars, if its going to go on and on into other books....its not worth it to me. I want to go on and buy the next one, "Devastated", but fear that there will be a 4th and 5th and so on to this story-line. If that's the case, I will probably not continue just to know that these two will ultimately end up together anyway.

    Better than the first book

Okay, contrary to my initial review of the first book, I did buy this book and read it. I was bored and needed a mindless read. This book was better than the first. There was more plot to grab onto, and enough character development for me to actually wonder what would happen to the characters. I still think Kimani is being ridiculous. She's the least discreet undercover journalist I can imagine. But I like how she really doesn't resist Ben. She's definitely getting into her role as his pet. The other male characters redeemed themselves (a little bit) in this book, but Derek remains a complete tyrant with no redeeming qualities. There's a cliffhanger at the end of course, and I'm sure I'll buy the third book in August.

  • Debbi

I'm a fan of Em Brown and love her historical erotic romances. Can't get enough. That being said I thought I'd try one of her contemporary erotica's. Ravaged is the first in a serial and leaves you on a cliff hanger. I'm not a fan of them and wish I knew beforehand.
I thought Ravaged was good, but not exceptional which is what I expect from Ms. Brown. It did represent diverse characters. Em Brown is a clean writer but I wasn't blown over with the plot. I think I'll wait for another historical series from her. Again the writing is good and the pace moves. \I would have liked a bit more of an emotional connection between the hero and heroine.

Okay read, but not her best IMHO.

This is book 2 and I got it while it was free on Amazon. I had read book 1 and was intrigued enough to want to know what happened next that I continued with book 2. This storyline felt drawn out for no reason, with some plot holes and inconsistencies in the story. I enjoyed reading the continuation of the story, but I feel like some things were brought up, but made the male lead, Ben look dumb because he ignored some big issues, like Kimani being a journalist. It was a huge red flag but felt like the author ignored it in order to continue a slow burn for the storyline.

  • Michaela Zankl

Kimani has a hard time keeping her true reason for being at the cabin from the other women and especially Ben. He is the only one that is capable of bringing her desires out. Their feelings for each other are undeniable. Secrets are uncovered and Kimani has to make a decision. Forget about her story or expose herself and bring an abuser to justice.
"Ravaged" is book 2 in this series and like book 1 a total page turner. EM Brown is a new author to me and I was instantly hooked. This is a book I most definitely recommend.

  • Bobbi

His for a Week, Ravaged book two by E. M. Brown. Well her I am reviewing the second book in this series. Decided to give it a second chance. After the first book I didn’t think I would read the second. I don’t like cliffhangers and this series definitely has them. Looks like this series is is going to be written all during the one week period. I’m enjoying the characters who are the most important to me in a book. The storyline is working. Four stars because of the cliffhanger.

  • Marc Rieck

A wonderful book by Em Brown

After buying her one week contract from an abuser, Ben tries to keep it about sex. Epic fail.

Kimani needs to get the story of the Scarlet Auction to get a newspaper job, but is troubled by feelings for Ben, and her reaction to the BDSM dynamic they share.

Great depiction of a Dom grooming a new to the lifestyle submissive. Hot sex. Believable characters. Buy, enjoy.

    Can’t put it down....

I’ve found the first 2 books absolutely captivating, as I’ve said before I’m a really slow reader and read this book in a day.. Once you start you just can’t seem to put it down you just want more.. Not so keen on one of the characters, but there meant be a bad guy in most book so totally get that...

Happy reading really enjoyed the first 2 books can’t wait for the 3 that I’m going to start straight away...

  • La Vida Rose

definitely better than the first one but still...eh I need more! This story should just be one book, these novellas are getting shorter and shorter. Anyway, I'm still hanging in there with the story anyway mostly cuz I like Ben. Kimani can sort of kick rocks. I am not sure why, but something about that character annoys me lol Next installment comes out in August 2018.

  • Wendy Livingstone

This is the 2nd book in this series, and continues straight on from the cliffy in “Bought”. As Kimani becomes more sexually involved with Ben, will he see through her charade as a sex slave? This story is better as there are more plot and character development. As this ends in yet another cliffy, I am looking forward to reading the next book.

I liked this book. Kimani and Ben's relationship is getting stronger and
they are learning more about each other. I'm really enjoying that this series seems to cover every week of the week, so we don't miss anything. Can't wait for the next book.

  • Karin Gesell

Things are definitely getting more intense between Ben & Kimani. He’s not going as easy anymore and she’s both committed to her story, and a bit taken with Ben. Things are definitely picking up! I cannot wait to see what happens next!!!

  • Sandy N

This is book 2 in Ben and Kimani story. It is absolutely hardcore. If you are shocked easily with sex this book is not for you. The story continue from where it left off in book 1. The dialogue and intensity of some of the scenes are top notch. There is an actual story and continuation of events here. It's not just about the sex. Let's go onto book 3 now.
