  Very good 4th book in the Robson brothers Harry "H" Hawkins series. Harry is now retired from the MET and working as a P.I. when one of his London buddies wins a trip for 4 to Las Vegas and all the guys head to Sin City. On their first night out Harry has his drink spiked and wakes up in an out of the way motel with a dead hooker in the bathtub. Before he knows it he is whisked away to a corrupt American prison where he is brutalized daily with all of it being filmed. It becomes clear that someone has set all of this up and Harry is in a dire situation that he must escape from before he is slaughtered. The authors keep us guessing as to the "who" and the "why" behind it all. Having "H" in a American prison was a nice change to this hard hitting, straight forward series......a solid 4 stars.

  London Large, Blood on the Streets #1 - A well written, action filled, suspense novel set in present day London. The multiple battles of old school vs. new police, Russian and Albanian mafias, and the elites of government. The pace is fast and the reader is intrigued by what is on the pages. I couldn't put the book down. I contacted the authors to review their books after reading Tipping Point, the intro of the old school raising of several of the major characters. Tipping Point should be read first, if possible. 5*
  
  London Large, Bound by Blood #2 - A well written, action filled, suspense novel set, in present day London, that picks up from Blood on the Streets a few months later with the same characters plus. The prime focus is still the continuing battle against the Albanian mafia. I couldn't put this book down any more than I did the first book. I contacted the authors to review their books after reading Tipping Point, the intro the old school raising of several of the major characters. Tipping Point should be read first, if possible. 5*
  
  London Large, Bloody Liberties #3- Blood and thunder, to borrow a British phrase. A well written, action packed, suspense filled novel that grabs the reader by the throat and doesn't let go until the end. Then you think about what you've read. I couldn't put the book down; I was immersed in the horror that is so possible today. Good old fashion soldiering, new technology and human perseverance; the combination making a great read. The twisting plot was well thought out and believable; the dialog realistic; and the technology spot on. If you haven't read the prequel and the first two books, you need to do so. Liberties can be read without them, but they enhance the story and you understand the viewpoints of the characters better. 5*
  
  London Large, American Lockdown #4 - Absolutely the best of this good series. Fast paced; action packed; suspense filled; evil and deadly. It's even harder to put this book down, the others were difficult to stop reading, but this one makes the others look like child's play. Every character is well developed and we have the gang from previous books. The plot is a roller coaster ride of horror, hate, revenge, anger and love. Full of emotions: simmering to full blown; you name it, it's covered. How much can H take? I wonder what the next book will be since it will be difficult to top this one, but I'm sure the Robson Brothers can handle it. This is a 10 star book! 5*

  Sharp and Short: A collection of shorts about Harry 'H' Hawkins, which should be read, in the sequential order of time, before and during the London Large series, especially Tipping Point. Tipping Point will explain a lot about the type of man he is and how he became Harry of the London Large series. Also, there's some information in this book that is mentioned in the first book and causes confusion for the reader that hadn't read TP. The other books have background about how H develops his feelings, good and bad, of the people, good and bad, in his life and work. Also, his mates are featured. Good background stories. 5*
  Home Front - November, 2003. Age 45. Harry's reaction to a string of violated, murdered young girls and health scare and his marriage.
  Counter Punch - October, 1984; February, 1985. While still in the army, H handles an extended family problem against a crime lord, with an American GI by H's side.
  On Tour - 1978. Nineteen year-old H, Shy Nervous John and Ronnie as part of the Anglers Athletic under-21s on tour in Amsterdam and Hamburg. Their first time out of England.
  That's Life - November, 1995. Little Ronnie is born and H lives his code about his friends, his "own".
  Unsafe Space - November 2017. As a private investigator, a case leads him to a university where the students are brainwashed by their professor into destruction and hatred.
  Tipping Point - January, 1974. Prequel - Must read Tipping Point first before LL Blood on the Streets. The introduction of the old school raising of several of the major characters of the London Large series. This intro clarify any confusion the reader may experience in LL, Blood on the Streets.

  I have thoroughly enjoyed the books in this series so far, and this one continues the story of 'H' (Harry Hawkins) who has left the police force and is now a private investigator.
  H gets set up with a 'prize' of a trip to the USA, where he gets framed for the murder of a prostitute and then gets 'lost' in the American prison service, where his life is in danger. This is all being masterminded by an old foe of H's. Amisha (his colleague from his police days) is called in to help. Meanwhile back in London, H's wife and son are also in danger.
  So, the story is clever and has lots of twists and turns, the characters are strong, believable and very well written, having developed throughout the series, and there is plenty of very exciting action, which made the book very difficult to put down, if only to see just how much more punishment H has to take!
  Those of a sensitive disposition should note that there is some pretty extreme violence in the book, and also a lot of bad language.
  I received an ARC of the book, but this honest review is voluntarily written.

  Superb writing from Garry and Roy Robson and an action packed story. There were a lot of moving a parts to this one and I really liked the originality that the Robson's brought.
  
  This novel was very vivid in the descriptions, the writing really jumped off the pages and into my head. Suspense and Mystery laced throughout.
  
  I felt like I got a solid understanding of the characters in the story. There was definitely a lot of action going on that will have readers flipping pages furiously.

  I loved the way that G&R Robson wove their tale.
  Characterization was huge in this novel. The characters were all very well developed and had their own motivations and faults. It made them seem more real to me as the reader.
  
  I also really liked the flow of this novel. It felt very smooth.
  
  This novel will keep you in suspense and trying to figure out each and every twist and turn as you read. You wont be able to put it down.

  The writing in this series is getting tighter with many twists and turns. I think it's just a matter of time before it's picked up for the big screen or tv although there may have to be some watering down of the language and violence.

  American Lockdown is the fourth in the London Large series featuring the one and only Harry Hawkins,in this latest offering we see H on unfamiliar territory as he leaves his beloved East End for a jolly to Las Vegas but as you would expect things go terribly wrong as someone from H’s past is out for revenge.The Robson boys aren’t holding back with this book,and neither is H as he has to fight to survive.Overall a brilliant read,a bit more violent than the previous books and I would imagine there will be one or two readers who will comment on the bad language but it’s not excessive and is used in context and is no worse than you would hear on a day to day basis.
  I would like to thank Gary and Roy for the advance copy and look forward to H’s next outing.

  This book is easily the best in series so far. I don't know if it is just because it was based in America, but something about this book made it easier to read and stay interested in. The truth of the issues presented in this book are painful. The American penal system is really messed up, but the authors also throw in a quip about the UK not having ID cards. This book renewed my vigor for this series.

  Another great Story from Gary and Roy. I really enjoyed this one, in fact I would give it ten stars if I could, as I could not put it down. Can't wait for the next one.
