I was pleasantly surprised with this little book. Some daily devotional books give just a tiny thought to dwell on. Not this book. It digs deep and unashamedly confronts worldly ideas and shallow Christianity for what they are.
It is formatted to where you read a portion of Scripture from your own Bible (which I like, because then I can use the translation I prefer) and then the devotional expounds on what you read, completed with a prayer and several thoughts/questions to dwell on.
It is a sturdy hardcover, with a convenient bookmark, and glossy pages. Just the feel of the book is a delight.
For a "quick daily devotional" this packs a powerful punch. I highly recommend it.

Do you have difficulty getting into the Word on a daily basis? Trouble starting and maintaining a routine of reading the Bible? This book might help kickstart the desire and Proverbs is a great way to start. One of my favorite things to do is read through the book of Proverbs. Full of everyday wisdom, Proverbs holds enough chapters for one a day for an entire month, well...at least those with 31 days. Consider the stresses of work, life and now school starting up; August is one of those months where a little extra guidance and wisdom is welcome. I’ve even gotten into the routine of reading this (or having my kids read a chapter) each night. It gives us the opportunity to reflect on the wisdom read while falling asleep. That’s better than having the weight of the day’s stresses on my mind.
This hardbound book is small in size but big in quality. A green and white cover adorned with gold letter makes it clean and simple. Table of contents at the beginning allows the reader the option of searching out a specific topic vs reading through from front to back. And each section has the title, covers a verse (or a few of them) and includes some additional insight for the reader along with a prayer and finishing with questions for continued reflection. Verses are from the NIV version. There are enough black spots in each section that also allows the reader to jot down thoughts, making this usable as a journal. And even though the book may not lay flat like a Bible, it does have a built-in ribbon bookmark. 191 pages, this isn't a thick book. In fact, it is small enough to fit in a purse or school backpack. Honestly, I think it would be a nice gift for anyone going off to college as well as those staying at home. It would also make a nice addition for those that host AirBnBs or have company over. It’ll look great on the coffee or side table along with some home décor. I received a complimentary copy from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for my honest opinion. -
10 Minutes In The Word: Proverbs is an insightful gift book from Zondervan that sheds light on the proverbs of old! This easy-to-read book takes the mystery out of how to interpret the proverbs and helps us to practically apply the wisdom of Solomon (the wisest man who ever lived) and contributors Agur and King Lemuel to our lives.
The book is divided into 46 brief chapters. What amazes me about this book is how much useful information about Proverbs the authors manage to convey in such a short amount of time and space!
The book can best be envisioned as being written in a devotional format, where you are given a daily portion of Proverbs to read – insight into the Proverbs – a brief prayer – application questions to help you ponder and apply what you’re learning to your life – an a related quote from Scripture itself.
If you’re looking for an affordable gift to give to a graduate, a new Christian, someone you are mentoring, or a friend, 10 Minutes In The Word: Proverbs certainly fits the bill, but trust me, you’ll want to pick up a copy for yourself as well!

10 Minutes in the Word: Proverbs was published by Zondervan in May of this year. This little book is just under 200 pages. There are forty-six entries, and each entry is four pages long.
The first page of every entry has a quote from Proverbs, the second and third page tell you what chapter and verses to read from your own Bible, followed by a easy-to-read interpretation to help you make sense of the proverb (while quoting other Bible verses). The last page has a prayer, and things to reflect on/questions to ask yourself.
I love the book of Proverbs. It is filled with so much wisdom. Every time I read it I am incredibly convicted, so I had some pretty high expectations... And they were met!
This is such a wonderful little book to add to your quiet time, bring to group/family studies, or to give as a gift. I'm truly amazed by how much information the authors (who aren't listed anywhere?) packed in. I enjoyed it so much I accidentally read it in a few days, instead of throughout a week or two.
As for the quality... The pages are sewn together, and the paper is nice and thick with crisp black font. There's even a little ribbon bookmark.

Great book
This book let you have your time with God. Just 10 minutes and you are getting your time with the Lord and it make you go deeper. I only hope this author is working on more books of the Bible l look forward to that. -
As usual a 40 day devotional took me over a year to read. Nonetheless this book really honed in on a single verse each day and followed by a prayer and thinking point. Very thorough and some days were quite thought provoking. And indeed it took less than 10 minutes each day.

Excellent read
A daily reminder that we need to apply wisdom from God in everyday walk in life I will make the reading of reading proverbs a daily habit along with this book -
This was a very meaningful and excellent addition to our God and I time this year. Now that we've finished this book, we're going to be starting John in a couple days.

This little book is a great way to read through the book of Proverbs! Each section tells you which Proverbs to read, sometimes only one and sometimes more, and then there is a short lesson about what you just read, a prayer, and a few questions to get you thinking. This is a great book to add to your daily Bible reading.
