The Maverick's Christmas to Remember (Montana Mavericks: The Lonelyhearts Ranch Book 2653) Reviews

Caroline is a wedding planner and while meeting with her clients, she loses balance on the letter and hits her head against the shelf. Before she fell, she saw a handsome cowboy Craig. When she wakes up in the hospital she thinks that Craig is her fiancee. Craig decides to play along for a few days until Caroline gets her memory back. They spend a lot of time together and at one moment she remembers everything, but decides to hide it from Craig, because she has feelings for him. When the whole truth comes out, they have to decide how to go on from there.

It’s the fifth book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. Caroline and Craig were both very realistic and likeable characters, who completed each other. I also like Craig’s grandparents, their bantering was hilarious. I think my favorite moment from the book was, when the truth came out and Craig stormed out, but a moment later they talked about everything outside while the snow was falling, it was such a beautiful and moving moment. All in all, I really enjoyed the book and want to get to other books in the series as well.

Good book. Caroline is a perky, positive-attitude wedding planner. She has a knack for working with difficult clients. She has been living in Rust Creek Falls for a couple of years and loves the small town life. The only thing that has been a downer has been the lack of romance. After encountering the local psychic, who told her she'd be engaged by her twenty-fourth birthday, she has been hopeful of finding her true love. She was thinking about this prophecy when her next clients arrived, bringing some friends with them. Precariously perched on a chair as she tried to reach something, the last face she saw as she fell was that of Craig Clifton.

Craig was visiting from Thunder Canyon and hanging out with his friends. He was there when Caroline fell and caught her before she hit the floor. Unfortunately, she banged her head on the shelf on the way down. When she came to, she thought Craig was her fiancé. When the doctor at the hospital suggested going along with it until Caroline's memory returned, Craig reluctantly agreed.

I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Caroline and Craig. There was no doubt about the connection between them from the very start. That connection freaked Craig out a bit, especially when Caroline seemed to know things about him that there was no way she should know. I liked his protectiveness toward this woman he didn't know, and his willingness to go along. He is a good man, and I thoroughly enjoyed the way he took care of her. He didn't expect to develop feelings for her, especially since he has resisted falling in love since the tragic death of his first love.

I loved how Caroline was absolutely convinced of her engagement to Craig. She was a little disturbed that she could remember so much of her life but drew a blank regarding the details of their relationship. She simply chalked it up to her injury and rolled on with her life as she believed it to be. She was shocked when her memory came back and she realized she didn't know the man she was kissing. She also knew she was already falling for Craig and was afraid that if she told him she would lose her chance to make him fall in love with her.

Though I wasn't thrilled with her deception, I was glad to see that she felt some guilt over it. Craig also felt some guilt over not telling Caroline the truth, but he told himself he was following the doctor's orders. There were some really sweet scenes of the two of them together. I especially enjoyed the trip to Thunder Canyon for Thanksgiving and seeing Caroline with Craig's family. The parts with his grandparents were fantastic, and I loved seeing how well Caroline fit in with his family. It was great to see how much Craig grew to like being with her, and that he started to think about a future with her. There's a pretty big obstacle to that dream though, as the truth about their engagement stands between them. When and how that truth comes out is a very emotional scene. I understood Craig's feelings of hurt and betrayal, and Caroline had a few choice things to say, too. I loved how they were finally able to be honest with each other, and that their love was able to overcome the rocky start. The epilogue was terrific, and I loved Craig's big moment at the school play.

"The Maverick's Christmas to Remember (Montana Mavericks" The Lonelyhearts Ranch Book 2653)" by Christy Jeffries is a good, easy, romantic read. Caroline Ruth new that someday she wanted to be married and have children. When the towns 'psychic' reveals to Caroline a description of what her groom would look like she never thought she would see him walking through the door. Craig Clifton was in town for his friends wedding. He never thought that when he rescued Caroline when she fell and hit her head that she would believe he was her fiance.

She's all mixed up! With a fun little jaunt into an unusual situation, Christy Jeffries takes us to Rust Creek Falls, Montana for the next in the Montana Mavericks series. The book has a touch of humor to it since they're in a bit of a forced situation, and the characters are interesting and keep our attention throughout the story line. Enjoyed it!

Wedding planner Caroline Ruth is convinced she's engaged to the hunky cowboy standing next to her! Of course the fall off of a ladder and knock on the head could explain her confusion.

Thunder Canyon cowboy Craig Clifton has never seen this woman before, but she's friendly with some of his friends and she seems so convinced, so how can he be a mean ogre and blow her mind at this sensitive time? He reluctantly finds himself staying by her side and letting her believe they are engaged until her bruised mind safely realizes the truth ... only problem is, he actually starts to enjoy his time with her along the way!

I loved it! It was funny, romantic, cute, heartwarming, sexy...

Craig and Caroline were definitely destined to be together. Because of the confabulation situation they get the opportunity to know each other and find love. Even if they didn't know each other in the beginning, they still could feel a connection, though Craig took more time in acknowledging it. Caroline was pretty confident since the start even if she didn't "remember" him.

My feelings for you were never a lie. So, now, tell me your excuse."
    "My excuse?"
"Why didn't you tell me the truth from the beginning?"
Caroline's character might be seen as innocent, her beliefs a little romanticized but they made her what she was and I liked her. Not always I like this kind of character because they are portrayed as dumb. Not Caroline. She might believe in fate or premonitions or intuition but she's no fool, she just want to live her life to the fullest, she has always dreamed to marry and have a family. And she wants Craig, so she will have to keep the secret of her memory coming back and make him fall in love with her.
Oh, God. He'd fallen in love with her."
Craig's past-he lost his first love in a accident-keeps him from loving again but he couldn't resist Caroline's personality. He didn't know but it was what he was missing from life. Even his family knowing the truth could see before him he already cared about her.

I loved Craig's family, his grandparents especially, gosh those two were hilarious. Caroline's parents weren't far behind, especially her feminist mother.

I won a copy of this book from the author, I was not required to give a favorable review. The is the 2nd book of this series that I have read, since Vivienne got married in the last book she has decided to move her business to Rust Creek Falls and now has it set up in the Rail Station on the family ranch, she has hired Caroline Ruth as her Jr. Event Planner for the business and she is taking care of the business with Vivienne & Cole are on the honeymoon. When decided to move there it was based on something that was told to her when she was visiting while in college, she would be engaged by her 24th Birthday which also landed on Christmas. Craig came in with his brother Ben to help their other brother and his girlfriend plan their wedding for Thunder Creek. But Caroline turned when Craig walked in while up on a chair and hit her head as she started falling, and Craig helped her, but the fun part is when she wakes up in the hospital she tells them Craig is her boyfriend. Now he is staying to help her until she gets her memory back, but what happens next has is love and appreciation.

Another in the Montana Mavericks: The Lonelyhearts Ranch series, in which wedding planner Caroline Ruth hits her head and wakes up thinking that Craig Clifton is her fiance, even though he's never met her before.

Through a series of barely believable recommendations by her friends and the doctor who treats her, Craig goes along with the ruse, hoping the entire time that what she keeps declaring isn't true even as he's falling for her.

Then Caroline realizes she's wrong, but right. He may not YET be her fiance, but he meets all those criteria she was told to look for. But how's Craig going to react when she finally tells him she knows who he is not, but wants him to be?
