3.5 Letting Go and Becoming Real Stars
    * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free and LIVE!!!
Sometimes we have excellent reasons to hold ourselves back...Back from being fully open with others. But then there are times... too many...where we are our own worst enemy...Where we hold ourselves back from understanding who we are..and how to live our lives freely.

Kinda heavy stuff in a review for a sexy fake fiancé romance, huh.

But here's the deal...like most reads, there is always an underlying insight to what has been the major issue for the main characters...and in this book, R.R. Banks has given us somethings to take on board. Both, Roxie and Luca have things which have held them back from being fully free to be who they authentically are and through this adventure, we get to experience along side them their awakening.

The basic idea has been a standard for readers... woman needs to have a cover for a wedding she really doesn't want to go to alone. Enter pretend "boyfriend" to ward off the looks and embarrassment the woman "knows" she will get from the people and loved ones at the event.

The complication this time is Roxie, a woman who left her hometown hurt and heartbroken, is the maid of honor for her best friend. She has loved her bestie since they were wee tots and both had planned the type of weddings they were going to have to the last detail as children. Now it is happening and of course, Roxie is thrilled for her friend...

The only hiccup choking her is that the Heartbreaking Cheater Boyfriend...
Yeah, you know it...Her Bestie's Brother!

So here Roxie is... Successful in NYC as a fundraiser/event planner for a non profit. She has an assistant who loves her and is willing to have her own brother, Greg, to do the pretend thing and go to the wedding with Roxie. Roxie trusts her assistant so it shouldn't be a big deal and her brother sounds nice.

Luca is sitting with his friend at the bar they hang out. It isn't some fancy place or pretentious place... just a good hang out for friends. There is a dart board and again, Luca has beaten Greg Again.
These guys are pals and have an easy going friendship. During their time drinking, playing darts and shooting the sh!t, Greg shares he is being roped into doing his sister a solid by taking her boss to this wedding thing...a week destination at some resort place. Luca asks what's the problem, she not nice or what...Greg says no, seems ok and even shows a candid shot of the woman...A pic where it looks like the woman had no idea it was taken ...

Luca sees something in that pic...a woman who is engaged, who is passionate about whatever she was doing at the time...She looks like an adventure...

An adventure is something Luca lives for these days. He comes from a family which is so established that when anyone learns of their name...immediately the mountain of wealth they have is all a person can see...at least that is how Luca feels. He has learned a lesson or two over the years so his friends, like Greg and others, have no idea of his personal wealth or really what he does for a living.
Luca donates time and vast funds to many charities but does it privately and anonymously. He travels the world and can do really whatever he wants with his time.

Luca decides to play a joke on Greg and challenges him to approaching a woman at the bar, asking her to play darts with him and if the woman wins... he will have to go to this wedding thing. If Greg wins at darts, then Luca will go instead. Luca thinks he will not be going because of a number of reasons...But fate decided nope..

Luca is going...and he is not upset about it one little bit. Remember, this Roxie looked like an adventure and Luca loves adventures.

Roxie receives a text asking her about the wedding out of the blue and by the third one... it is revealed it is Luca not Greg who is texting her. The reason given was Greg was unavailable...She sees a pic of Luca, adds in that there is no more time to try to find another person... and decides ok she will go with it.

We are with these two all the way. From their first meeting, the flight and then the introduction and reunion of Roxie's family and townies to the surprise boyfriend. Luca is stunned by some of the reactions by these family and "so called friends" making him all the more protective of Roxie.

Now these two have terrific chemistry together...and once they stop fighting it Woweee!!! I mean Luca and Roxie together...Just be aware of where you are reading this, because it is smokin' hot!

Of, course there is much more then the pretend boyfriend thing, wedding and other complications. There are some circumstances I felt weren't explained or cleared up which took away from the tale. The reasons Roxie reacted to things late in the story felt "off" for me but overall it was an enjoyable and fun read.

These two needed each other to see who they were in their own skin...to be their authentic selves and own it. Together they finally did and it was their own HEA.

I was new to R.R. Banks...I will not be again and will look to experience more.

Totally safe book!! No OW drama, No cheating, no Manwhore H but a little to childish drama...

The H was so perfect... Sweet, so so sweet!

A misunderstanding got the h not answering the phone for 5 mouths but the H didn't give up (eye roll)!

For me the story was a little boring, h lacked confidence with friends and family!
    H was borderline doormat!!

Accidental fiancé was a great 5 star read. There were so many moments where I couldn’t stop laughing, when a book makes me feel that way I know I’m going to love it even more. Loved Roxie and Luca story. I hope you enjoy reading “Accidental Fiancé” as much as I did.

    Happy Reading

I feel bad that I didn't quite get this. I felt a little bored from 5% in. Slightly repetitive, but a cute story overall. Overly sweet and some childish behaviour from adults. I guess it wasn't for me, though I did enjoy most of the writing style.

An explosion of feels and heat R.R. Banks takes his readers on a journey of unconditional love at first sight and lengths one will go to make things right.

Keeping up with the disastrous wedding theme- this want to wrap yourself up in it story revolves around Roxie and her need for a convincing date to her best friends destination wedding.
Her need to prove to everyone there including the ex that she has moved on outweighs the rational thought process.
So when she is set up by her friend, thinking she is going with said friends brother but ends up with another man Luca.. things become an adventure of epic, heart-stopping proportions!

Right out of the gate I was taken in by the sheer awe factor of the hero, while the rest of the characters were all driven to the surface with their uniqueness and boldness making this an easy read to lose myself in. Twists and some very sexy turns. The two shared a connection that was fun, fast and furious- but maddening to follow as they stumbled through a crazy wedding of lies and secrets and some not so lovely guests!
    Sigh, I loved it!
Heartbreak, to heart mend, had me from the very first page to the very last tale!
    #OneClick material!

Another fantastic book by R.R. Banks that kept me totally in awe of the well written plot that flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were so well developed that I was unable to put this book down until I read the very last page!

    Loved it!

    4.5 Stars
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! This is the story of Luca and Roxie. This was such a sweet, loving and sexy story. Luca was an amazing H! He was lost to Roxie the moment he met her. He was such a great fake boyfriend and gave his all to Roxie and the fake wedding week. When things heated up between the two things got hot! I liked Roxie through most of the book but I found her to be a little stubborn at times especially the end. But overall I found this to be an excellent book!

  • Whit

Although I enjoyed the chemistry between Roxie and Luca, there were way too many unnecessary sex scenes. A great story that has something to say does not need all of that filler.
Roxie let gossip and her love for Brad, a man that didn't deserve it, run her away from her childhood home. Her four sisters were just as shallow and narrow-minded as the rest of the town.
Roxie certainly didn't have to prove anything to those people. And of course when Luca's "secret" is revealed, Roxie is just done!

I'm going to be completely honest. I passed this book by at least 5 times. Because, any book that has a title that resembles a fake relationship is just a big automatic, NO THANK YOU, to me. Not that they're horrible books, just not my cup of coffee.

    That being said...

    I loved it. 💙

I loved every character from the moment I met them. Now, it did take me a little longer to get into the plot. But, like I said before, this isn't my normal type of story I go for.

Roxie has got to be THE BEST best friend, ever. The most forgetful, but the best. She's such a strong woman. She has her flaws but who doesn't.

Luca is....hmm...are there words to describe Luca? Yes!!! Absolute, perfect imperfection. He's so dang amazing that his (very few) flaws are rendered useless.

Accidental Fiancé was a big surprise for me. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. The reviews kept popping up and I kept pushing the book aside. I'm glad my curiosity got the best of me.

Luca has connections and he made one big mistake. You really should read this book to find out what those are.

🤓📚💙Reminder: This review is simply the opinion of one woman who reads way more then she should. My 4 star could very well be your 5 star. Don't take my word for it, find out for yourself.

This book was a surprise. There was actually some substance to this romance. The hero was a sweet, wonderful, sexy man--totally swoony book boyfriend material. The heroine was a bit of a spastic mess, I couldn't really like her.

All in all, this was an entertaining, light-hearted read that kept me reading until THE END.

  • Ashley Olson- lovestoread08

I received this as an ARC for an honest review! 5 Stars for light hearted romance. I did my longest workout on the treadmill reading this one! I didn't want to stop reading! I absolutely love Luca! He is everything girls love in guys! Luca was everything Roxie needed in order to let go and move on from her past and to find love again!!!!

  • Laci

    This was a cute read.

  • Eleanor

    Nice. Very much predictable though.

i red this book as part of an arc program. This is another great one from RR, this is about a young woman named Roxie, who is the maid of honor for her childhood best friend and is living in NYC and single. Since Roxie left her small town after her best friend's brother dumped her, she hasn't returned and now with the wedding she is going to see everyone who knows about her being dumped and expected her to fail in New York. When a co-worker suggests getting her brother Greg to go to the wedding with Roxie to pretend to be her boyfriend, she agrees. When Greg wins a bet with his friend Luca, Luca must go with Roxie to the wedding, only Luca wants to be with her for real when he meets her. I loved this book, I really liked the banter between Roxie and Luca. They were really good together and had a lot of heat. This was a really good one I couldn't put down. Another good one!

    A quick, sweet read

Now I'll admit I didn't go into this story thinking I would enjoy it. Boy was I wrong. What started as me curiously reading the sampler due to boredom and having no other plans that night turned into me obsessively reading the story until I couldn't keep myself awake any longer. The characters were both surprisingly relatable for two people having jobs I couldn't dream of having myself. But more than that, their love story hooked me in. I found myself rooting for Luca and wanting Brad to get kicked where it really, really hurts. I do not regret reading this book at all and am excited for my next read by this author.

    Accidental Fiance

Roxie's needing an escort to " pretend" to be her boyfriend, at the wedding of her best friend. Luca a friend of her co- worker, ends up being that person. This story is fun, serious, full of drama, great story, loved it😊.

    Well done sir

This book was a surprisingly good not because you're a man(your about author prompted that 😉) it's just that I have not read any of R. R. Banks and wasn't sure what I was in for however since I'm currently on a kick of fake boyfriend romance reads picked up this book. He story line was easy to follow along with. It follows a broken hearted, work obsessed Roxie who is in need for a fake boyfriend for a week long wedding where her cheating, living, no good ex boyfriend will also be in attendance. Enter stage left is her billionaire savior. It is a fun, quick read, with some really great steamy reads. Well done Mr Banks, well done 😀

    When you lose a bet

He was a billionaire that had from the world. She work for a nonprofit organization.

She was going to her childhood best friend, Thea's, wedding and needed a date, so another friend volunteered her brother, Greg. Greg and his best friend, Lucca, had a bit about who would go. With the help of Lucas friend, Skye, Luca lost.

They were both attracted to each other. As they got to know one another, they just meshed. By the end of the wedding week, they were in love, and not pretending.

Her ex, Brad, found out Luca made a bet and lost. He told Roxy about it, but of course didn't tell her the rest of the story of how Luca actually fell in love with her.

It took Lucca 4 months and the help of Thea to get to be in the same room as Roxie, so he could explain what happened.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. we meet Roxie who works in fundraising only to get a call that shes gonna be late for her bffs dreas fitting...well hell!! after her bff Thea tells her the wedding plans she can't help but feel hurt that the plans they made growing up arent going to happen but she can't fault Thea and Bryce for it. the only downside is that her ex will.be at the wedding with the chick he cheated on her with and to make matters worse hes theas brother. ugh...she doesnt wsnt to go back there alone and have ppl talk. solution...her assistants Teri volunteerd her brother for the job of pretend bf. we meet Luca, who is bffs with Teris bro, learns about the wedding date and makes a bet with Greg...alas Luca lost and is now Roxies date. but its not a total loss bc he thinks shes a knockout. texting back and forth make it comfortable for roxie and Luca until they meet in person and holy moly...sparks fly. once they arrive at their destination Luca csnt believe roxie was right about everyone wanting jn her business and it makes him want to protect her, esp when her ex makes it uncomfortable for her. they both realize they have more in common and roxie csnt help develop feelings when Luca plans a picnic and watch old movies. that leads to more than what they bargained for. will roxies ex leave her alone? will Luca tell roxie his feelings b4 it's too late? will their shamble end up hurting everyone?

Another winner from R.R. Banks! Luca and Roxie will keep you glued to your Kindle. Definitely an HEA! You can't go wrong with any book from this author. He is masterful in his writing and his stories just pull you in and keep you wanting more. Would recommend this book to everyone!!

    Made Me Swoon

R.R. Banks writes a story you want to wrap around you like a blanket and become part of. Roxie has had a bad relationship with a cheating ex who happens to be her best friend’s brother. Agreeing to a special arrangement to attend the wedding with her, Luca discovers he enjoys spending time with Roxie and begins falling for her. Roxie’s ex is in attendance of the wedding festivities and tries to make things difficult in several ways. The chemistry between Roxie and Luca is palpable — she finally decides to give in to the attraction after trying to talk herself out of it.

This story is funny, heart wrenching and very steamy, a signature writing style of Banks. Lots of little lies lead up to some painful truths but they eventually get their HEA. A must read in Banks collection of stories.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review. OMG what a book!!!! It made me laugh, it made me smile, it made me sigh, it made me think, and it made me fall in love all over again with romance. Roxie was a character, she was constantly thinking to much about everything and always had too much on her plate. Thank God she had good friends like Thea and Terri to help her keep it all together. Luca was a modest guy, wealthy, good looking and humble. He adopted his mothers maiden name to go undetected as coming from a wealthy family. He wanted people to accept him for himself and not for his money. This was an excellent read. This was by far the best romantic comedy I have ever read.

  • MaD

Way to go Banks! A great fake fiancé story that will have you in stitches, laughing out loud, crying along with the characters, feeling their anger, confusion, anxiety, sadness, fear, and love. Roxie and Luca's chemistry is instant and easy, like old friends from the start. When the feelings drift into the more serious zone is when things get...sticky. And there is a point I REALLY wanted to throttle Roxie...I mean, come on....with the scenario as it is and everything the guy does for her, ugh! Pot meet kettle!
That being said , I couldn't put it down till the last page was flipped, and then I wanted more LUCA ;). Definitely 1-click it!

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review
