Her Broken Billionaire Boss (Clean Billionaire Romance #3) Reviews

Eh no this was disappointing indeed. Nothing about the romance or characters where swoon worthy at all and the plot didn't save it whatsoever.

    Booooooo! Most useless billionaire ever!!

Obviously, I don't go into this books expecting any great literary achievements. But this book lacks the fun, fake-couple tropes of book #1 and the...well, whatever it was that made me decide book #2 wasn't totally awful.

Nothing in this book hits the right note.

Liam Thomas is a football player/billionaire. How did he achieve billionaire status? "Lucky investments." Right. I am highly doubtful that he's actually a billionaire or a football player. Someone give me the much more interesting story where he's conning the heroine with both. Because this dude's great hang-up is that he doesn't want to play pro-football anymore but doesn't want to tell his sister that so he clings to his wheelchair. Like, my dude. If he actually was a football player (or any professional athlete) contracts and doctors and coaches and other people would be making that decision about if he ever plays again. But let's just yada yada over that...

Then we've got Sara Lynch, a hospice nurse who decides to give herself a break and work for the mysterious man on the cliff. She does zero research on her prospective patient and lands the job by being...sassy? And what is the job you ask? Really, I have no clue, since a huge plot point is that she wasn't hired to cook or pick up dry cleaning.
But no one was hired to cook and can we return to the part where he's supposedly a billionaire but doesn't have any staff?

Anyway, Liam doesn't want her around so he decides to really scare off. And he does so by...getting onions on his burger and eating really messily? Asking her to drop off non-existent dry cleaning?
I mean, this dude sucks at planning anything. He must seriously have been lucky when he made his money. But the worst part is when it WORKS and she throws a fit because he wants her to make him dinner.

That drama goes on way too long but obviously can't last forever so Sara proceeds to do random things like nearly fall off cliffs. Then Liam fails to do any cool billionaire stuff, like, I don't know, getting her a private hospital room that people can't barge into.

Because * cue drama * Sara's great secret is that her mom is a con-artist! She's conned 5 men! AND * gasp * Sara's ex was abusive and for reasons never explained thinks that if he works with her mom, they'll get money out of Sara. Or Liam? The whole evil plan is super glazed over. But not the evilness of Sara's Mom. Oh no, she'll literally choke her daughter in public and no one will bat an eyelash.

Heck, Liam will witness all this and just whine because he's so helpless.

Multiple plot points get dropped randomly. Liam physically goes shopping (like, at a mall?) with Sara instead of paying someone to design her a dress. Useless billionaire.

    And that's basically it.

This book is excellent. A well written romance about a billionaire football player who gets hurt and the injury is almost career ending and then more things happen in his his life within a years time. I love how this guy is so dog on stubborn and malicious because he doesn't want a nurse and how a romance comes about. Also how his sister helps him out. I just loved this book. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Love it and because it's clean I recommend it very highly to everyone. Some people could learn something from this too. I know what you're probably thinking. How can a romance story teach you something? Well in this book you can learn a lot or a little. That depends on you.
But what I picked out of this story is:
    * Even if you have a Mom or Dad or both and they've treated you terrible most kids will protect their parents before seeing them go to jail.
*For every crime someone does there are consequences. In other words, if you do the crime you do the time.
*Sometimes a live in nurse will lead to a good romance but not always.
    * If you plan to keep a secret don't tell anyone and be a good actor.
I could go on and on but that would give what the book is about away and what is the fun in that. Please read this book. Bree Livingston is a great author and has become one my favorite authors.
Also, this is a 1st edition of this book.

I'm having a tough time with this one. I really wanted to love it but I just didn't. Parts of the story had me rolling my eyes. Some things were so far fetched that I almost put it down. I even asked some book friends their opinion on things that were happening and they agreed. It just wasn't believable.

Liam is made to look like a coward on a few occasions and that didn't sit right with me at all. He's supposed to be the hero. No man would let certain things fly when it comes to a woman they're developing feelings for. That just doesn't happen. At times I felt like the roles were reversed. The heroine was doing things the hero would do and vice versa. It just didn't work for me.

Loved this book. I love that is clean, action packed , easy to read , a page turner and I hated to put the book down. Will read again and it's become one of my favorite books. I highly recommend this book and author.

    Super cute

I like some of the author's other books better than this one but it's still worth reading. It's full of swoonworthy kisses and two people being vulnerable and making sacrifices for each other.

I pulled this novel to read Super Bowl Sunday. And it was much better than the slow game between the Rams and Patriots.

Liam Thomas is a pro football player recovering from a hip injury. After a year, he is healed physically, but refuses to give up his wheelchair till he decides if he is going back in the game. His sister who raised him after their parents deaths has been living with him, but she is about to get married and needs to hire a live-in nurse while she is on her honeymoon. Liam is determined to be alone, and fighting all the applicants.

Sara Lynch is a RN who works as a live-in nurse. She was inspired by the nurses who cared for her father. Her father was the only person she felt love from. He died when she was eight, and her mother took her in -- just because her father left money for her care. Sara's mother is a drunk and con artist. She has emotionally abused Sara all her life. Sara also had a boyfriend, who became abusive after winning a $20 million lottery. Sara put a restraining order against him.

Liam has met his match with Sara. She has sassy comebacks for his abuse. She also has a gift of reading what her clients are feeling. Sara gives Liam the space he desires, but remains nearby if he needs her. Liam is attracted to her, but after dating only models doesn't believe in forever love. Yet, he keeps seeing Sara as someone he can't let go.

A sweet romance with Momma drama. Liam has to put a plan in action to win Sara's heart and make her see that she can be loved.

Her Broken Billionaire Boss (4 1/2 stars)

I just love Sara and Liam! Her ability to read situations and her intuition are such wonderful traits for a heroine! I loved the banter that she and Liam have at the beginning of the book.

Sometimes in romances, the main characters don’t really share their feelings and it goes on for far too long. Not so with this story! They were both reluctant to say the “L” word, but they showed each other by their actions (and kisses!).

Her protecting him at any cost was an amazing twist on the damsel-in-distress trope.

This is actually is one of my favorite stories period! (And I devour sweet romances like they are chocolate!)

*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special

While the story was a cute read, there were some really awful things that happened to Sara. I read this in one sitting but it was painful at times.
Sara was really sweet and can read people really well, except for those people who are out to do her harm. She throws caution to the wind and finds herself being strangled a few times. Unreal! I mean, wow, really?!
I liked Liam okay. He was grumpy and took it out on everyone, not really an attractive quality. But hurt people hurt people. While I'm not excusing his behavior, he does quickly come to terms with what he wants and is relentless at working to achieve it. He is a bit thick at times though.
I guess the two of them make the perfect couple. No clue how, but that's fiction for you!
    HEA, clean read.

    Least favorite.

This is for sure my least favorite of this book series. There were a few editing errors, but what I really don’t like about it is that he’s a coward. I, as a female, would never stand by and watch someone I don’t even like get hurt by someone else, let alone someone I supposedly love! At least he recognized what a coward he was. However, if you can overlook that, it is a good story, and as always well written. I’d recommend a better editor.

    Can Broken Heal Broken?

Liam is broken in ways that even he doesn't realize. But Sara is broken too.
After a football injury over a year ago, Liam is still in a wheelchair. His sister has been caring for him, but now she's getting married and going on her honeymoon. Frightened that he'll injure himself again while she's gone, she insists on hiring a nurse.
Sara is not bothered by his tantrums. After her mother and her former boyfriend, she can handle anything.

This was my second time reading this book and I really enjoyed it. Liam is a pain in the neck in the beginning, but Sara is a strong woman and doesn't put up with any of it. I love how she's able to roll with the punches and her witty comebacks. As their relationship develops there are some definite ups and downs, but they figure it out and there is a beautiful HEA.

  • Tara Higgins

    Bree does it again

I loved the twist and turns of this book. Oh and the mother was the worst villain I’ve seen. Poor Sara I’m happy she found her HEA. One side note is the book cover should depict the image of Liam better. He was supposed to be a huge football player with long red hair and a beard.

    True love

Loved reading Liam and Sara's story. True love has a way of finding you & is so much greater. Loved how they got to know each other & fall in love. Fell in love either characters! Plus the model in the cover helped!😊

  • Gale

    Good read

I enjoyed the book but found that in some places I wished the two of them would just talk to one another instead of being inside their own heads. They were sweet characters, though, and enjoyed the story. Good read.

  • Sue Stinnett

    Falling For His Nurse

Sweet romance between a nurse and injured football player. She had no life because of her mother and is willing to do anything to protect the man she loves from her.

  • Tamera Westhoff

    Sweet Romance

Sara is absolutely amazing, even though she has been abused so much! Liam is a pretty great guy for the most part too! Sweet story although I really would have been okay with only one trip to the hospital!

  • Suzie

    Her Broken Billionaire Boss

I loved this book. Characters were loveable. Horrible mom and ex-boyfriend were miserable and hateful. Every part of the story called to me. And, the ex-football player billionaire was a cool guy. Just plain fun to read.

    Amazing Romance

    Love

Love comes with a price tag? Or is that what only one thinks? One plays a part the other turns a blind eye... Good book wanted a little more but loved the humor

  • PLP

    Very sweet!

A joy to read. And no sex but lots of kissing! A quick read. This heroine deserved the best and she got it!
