I’ve been watching Carlotta Tomassi for months, biding my time to pluck her out of her sheltered life. The mafia kingpin’s daughter is not going to be a sweet little thing much longer. Not if I have anything to do with it.
Soon, she will be kidnapped. Taken. Captive. Carlotta’s transformation from sweet little lamb to broken sinner will begin in the cell I built for her. Barely legal and enchanting in her innocent beauty, she will be my prized possession.
I can’t wait for her to open her eyes and realize she’s now my property. The fear. The anticipation. The pain. I will take it all. And the first words I’ll tell her will seal her fate.
It's time to confess, little sinner.
And Father does not forgive.
Confess is a full-length novel with a dirty priest straight out of your fantasies... or nightmares.
This is a captive dark mafia romance.

Ya, this book just wasn't very good. The plot was all over the place. There was virtually NO backstory so for 70% of the book you just had Amadeo being over the top cruel and ridiculous to Carlotta for some "horrible" deed her father supposedly did, but is never really fully explained. This made it impossible to connect to these characters in any way. Not to mention Carlotta was a whiney doormat, and Valentino was a prop. So yea...just not a great book.

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Multiple
Rating:
For years Father Amadeo Dacosta waited for the right time to have his vengeance on his nemesis. He thought Carlotta Tomassi was finally ready to serve her purpose as a lesson for her father’s sin. But neither of them realize that not everything was as it seemed.God wouldn’t have allowed my mother to leave me so soon. God wouldn’t allow this horrible man to keep me here in such horrifying conditions. God would never hurt me like this
Amadeo was nothing close to heavenly. His past shaped who he became to be - a ruthless, vindictive man. Carlotta was young, innocent and naive. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by a character that added balance to the two main characters."I confess," she admits. "I confess... I fell in love with a monster..."
I enjoyed the dark elements of the story with revenge and torture. However, I had a problem connecting with any of the characters. I felt like the characters and the storyline jumped all over the place without a proper anchor. Additionally, there were distracting inconsistencies. However, I’m sure it will be fixed in the final copy.
Confess is a story of vengeance and sacrifice. It is a dark romance with elements of suspense.

Father Amadeo Dacosta waited years to exact his revenge and Carlotta Tomassi is his target. With a darkened soul, Amadeo’s plan is to break his captive in mind and body. As the situation begins to get complicated, much more is sacrificed than originally planned.
“If I were a better man, I’d stop. I’d apologize. I’d let her go. But my morality is fucking gone. I want this. I want her.”
What I liked about this story was how Amadeo pushed boundaries and how he was conflicted at times. However, there were many different plot points that just didn’t mesh. Most importantly, the narrative lacked a foundation which lessened the impact for the path of its characters and their connection.
While this book was a miss for me, I remain excited that Isabella Starling has returned and look forward to reading more of her dark and emotionally charged books.

Fails to meet my expectations. Review to come...

Not a romance even if I love the dark ones.
-
I'm confused by this book. So there'll be no rating. I've been on and off reading it for months now

Wow ! What a dark intense and riveting read ! This is the kind of story that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The story had a whopping twist and a love triangle going on between two brothers who were polar opposites one of them dark and one of them light and a captive that feels a spark toward both of them.
Father Amadeo was so dark and dominate ,depraved and scary as hell.We loved how he constantly was at war with his emotions as it almost made him seem human.
Valentino was a character that wore his heart on his sleeve craving the same women who belonged to his brother and one he longed for but, thinks he can never have.
Carlotta was a bit of a hellcat and fighter had spine and had gumption and one some would consider broken but, neither her captor nor father were truly able to break her.
A compelling read that was edgy and dark and one not for the faint of heart.I will say that I found Carlotta age a little distributing but, when she turned eighteen all would have been loss to seek revenge for the wrongs done to the Dacosta family so her age then made sense.
This was one read that had your emotions all over that place .The story also had you guessing constantly what the final outcome would be .I would say that Carlotta surprised me yet again toward the ending of the book and her actions all the more surprising as I could not see that scenario ever happening but, she must have had her reasons but, we can only guess what they could be.
You have to enjoy a story where you want to hate the characters but just can't, no matter how depraved and dark and sinister your still drawn to them and their darkness and just hoping a praying that someone or something will heal what is broken within them.
This author and her dark reads are always intense reads and have always had compelling characters and she knows just how mix the forbidden and taboo and make it all work and this read was just that !
Recommend read to those who love the forbidden and love dark romance reads that are somewhat taboo but, this story is not for those who have triggers and are faint of heart but, a page turner for those who can handle the content a book like this has. -
Umm no
This was suppose to be dark but no I've read way worse I was more blown away by the obvious errors for example she used the word read when it should have been red and she typed book instead of back I mean I can understand oopsies that are kind of close in spelling but when you're describing the color of someone's face and you type read instead of red there's no excuse for that...also the whole story line was F'ed up Amadeo kidnapped the girl who just turned 18 because her father murdered his pregnant wife..who also turns out the pregnant wife was also the kidnapped girls mom she ran away after giving birth to her and ran to amadeo and he got her knocked up so the girls father had her killed so I'm sorry the whole story was twisted Amadeo knocked up his wife's daughter and then she ended up marrying his brother cause he dies helping rescue her from her father totally twisted. -
Confess
A dark captive story with a tortured sadistic priest and his brother who is also a priest. This has a "sins of the father" theme to it. -
They say that often the children pay for the sins of the father. That's true in Carlotta's case. Her father is why what happened, happened.
Amadeo. Oh my God's this man. He is something fierce. His brother Valentino isn't too much different in that aspect, but also his complete opposite. Where Amadeo is rough, cruel and wants to cause pain when it comes to Carlotta, Valentino is softer, sweet to her (most of the time) and wants to save her from the world in general, but mostly his own brother and her father.
You think you're getting one sexy as sin priest in this book. Nope. You get two of them. This is not a mange though. A bit of a love triangle till some things get sorted. Some really not good things happen in this book and may cause triggers for some readers, but you won't regret it if you stick with it. Their love is deep, real, and true. Something no one could deny.
Even after what she's been through Carlotta is a fighter. Maybe more so because of it. I absolutely feel for the girl at times, but she pulls it together and comes out all the better. She's the perfect female character for these two brothers.
Isabella is back with a vengeance people. Loved this so hard. -
This book put me through so many emotions. I love Isabella's writing. Her style, the words, everything, it's amazing. This book is dark so make sure you know that before you read it. Great job Isabella.

Woah... And Isabella is back!
First off, I want to start by saying that this book isn't going to be for everyone. This book contains some pretty graphic scenes and topics and it is not for the faint of heart, and with that being said... I also want to say how freaking happy I am that Isabella Starling is back and she is back with one hell of a story.
In Confess, we have Father Amadeo Dacosta... He was intense, to say the least, he's a priest that has a tortured past, a past that now defines him, Father Amadeo Dacosta wants revenge and he is on a mission to make the people who hurt him and made him suffer years ago.
Then add in Carlotta Tomassi. She's one that is going to pay for her fathers' sins and his crimes. She is the daughter of Massimo Tomassi, who is a big crime leader. Carlotta is clueless about what her father has done, but she is the one that is being made to pay. Father Amadeo breaks her down, makes her weaker, and this girl is strong. So strong... and once she finds out what sins and pain and hurt her father had caused against Amadeo, she wanted to help him...
Then add in Valentino, Father Amadeo's brother and although he shares a lot of the same personality trait as his brother, he isn't as hard and mean and hateful, although he does help his brother kidnap Carlotta, but when it came to her, he was softer, sweeter and actually wants to try and save her from the mafia world she was living in.
And that's where I'm gonna stop. This book was something else.. I've read Isabella before and I love her work. I love how her brain works, how dark she can turn a story, and how flawlessly she does it, and this new book by her that was her leg up back into the dark romance genre was extraordinary, but I expected nothing less. She won my heart over a year ago and this is proof that this author still has it.
It was flawlessly written, the connection between the characters throughout the book was perfect and it had me losing myself into this plot. I couldn't get enough and that ending? Brillant! I can't wait to see what else she's got up her sleeve!
6/5 Stars! -
First off - this book will not be for everyone. It has kidnapping, a touch of torturous BDSM, dubious consent, mafia action, and bloodshed. It is a TRUE, erotically dark romance. One that will have you on the edge of your seat, reading until the heart-warming end (there is a happily ever after)
This is my first read by Isabella and I will say it won’t be my last. She introduced me to a whole different level of writing with this book and impressed me greatly.
Father Amadeo Dacosta is a priest with a tortured past and he is determined to make those that caused him all the pain suffer greatly. Enter Carlotta Tomassi, the daughter of Massimo Tomassi - who is the crime leader of the Malbourne area.
Father Amadeo, with the help of his little brother Valentino, kidnaps Carlotta. Father Amadeo is determined to make her pay for the sins and crimes her father committed against him. Carlotta is a strong woman, finding out the pain her father caused towards Father Amadeo, she ends up wanting to help him.
There are so many twists, turns, and heartbreaks in this story, to end on such a good and heart warming end. I will definitely be reading more of Iasabella’s works. Like I said before, though, these masterpieces are not for the faint of heart or ones that take offense to what I listed out at the beginning. So, I say in ending - Forgive me Father, for I have sinned.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. -
I have missed you so much, Isabella! Confess is everything and more. What every you expect from this book, put it on the back burner and jump right in because this book is going to blow them all away.
Father Amadeo is a man that has nothing to lose. He has been planing his revenge for eighteen years, and it is time to put it into action. There is NOTHING sweet about what he needs to do, and the poor girl that is going to take all the rath is Carlotta Tomassi.
Carlotta Tomassi is a seventeen-year-old girl 24 hrs from turning eighteen. She has little to do with her father's mafia life and treated like a princess.
Carlotta is kidnapped and tortured for being the mafia king's daughter. While all this is going on, we learn a lot about why Father Amadeo is doing this. When Carlotta returns to her father, she defends Father Amadeo, which pi**es her father off even more.
Beware, this is a dark read; it is not for everyone. Confess is a book I will reread! -
At first, I could not understand Amedeo’s action but the table has turned and my heart just melted for this book.
I thought this book was full of smutty scenes but I was wrong. There was no unnecessary love scene which is good. Sometimes, I lost interest if a book has a lot of unnecessary scenes. -
WOW! Isabella that book was emotionally raw and left me feeling flayed open at the end.
Amadeo is a character I hated from the beginning but fell in love with him half way through.
Carlotta broke my heart as her tale took many twists and turns and at times it devastated me.
Valentino I loved from the very beginning. He is so nurturing and kind in a very selfless way.
This story made my night. I loved the ending so much it made me smile. -
5 DARK TWISTED STARS!! OMG.....this book had me holding on for dear life, from the first word until the end. Amadeo, Valentino and Carlotta will take you on a dark, twisted ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This author is phenomenal with her words and sucks you into the story. I highly recommend this book.
-
I love, love, love Isabella's book. This book was dark, twisted, taboo, disturbing, panty melting, intense, edge of your seat and so yummy. I had to finish it once I started because it's THAT good. It's everything I thought it would be and more. I highly recommend this book if you love dark reads. Thank you for another awesome read Isabella!

One word – AWE-FUCKING-SOME!
'Confess' blowed my mind!
First of all, I must write that this book is not for everyone. The mafia, the priest and the young girl as a tender card makes this story brutal, dark and a full of tortures. It is a real dark romance, so if you don't like books in this type 'Confess' is not for you.
But... if you are a little, curious devil Father Amadeo will listen to your sins and absolutes you.
Maybe in the big bed.
Carlotta Tomassi is a mafia girl. Her father is a chief of everything and he has his men everywhere.
The girl can't do anything without control, especially as she will be sell on the auction with her virginity, when she will end eighteen years old.
But Carlotta wants fun, like all young ladies and she goes outside with her best friend Serafina. Of course illegal, but she doesn't care about this.
One evening in the club, where the girls were Carlotta met Amadeo. He drew her attention and in the end she finished this night with him.
This is the begininng to the long revenge story.
This story has so many twists, brutal and happy moments and suprises. I really like Amadeo or should I call him Father Amadeo. He had a motive for his revenge and he done everything to made this real. In the end, he is a really good men. So don't judge him.
The idea of this book is incredible. When we see mafia, we like it. When we see taboo, we like it, but when we see priest? We are shocked or disheartened, but I must write this – don't be scary. This book will change your mind about everything.
I really like 'Confess'. Is a standalone position with a closed history. Meet Carlotta and Amadeo and see if these two have a happy ending. -
Oh My ###! I don't even know where to begin... This book was absolutely fantastic! Oh, my Heart! speaking of HEART, This book is not for the faint of heart. If you're not ready to clutch those pearls... On one hand, I definitely need to go pray and on the other, I need a strong drink! I discovered this author earlier this year through a different pen name and I've been obsessed with her characters. But Confess is on a whole different level. I love all the dark and twisted and this book just overflooded my system! Isa's ability to make you fall in love with the devil is just exhilarating. Amedeo will hold a piece of me forever! He has completely shattered my soul. Forgive me, Father, for I was not ready for you. Carlotta is in the middle of so many secrets, she has no idea what's in store for her. I loved her, She was strong and true. I don't want to give anything away, this book needs to be read! Amedeo's story needs to be told. I loved the ending! My heart was shattered and I feel like I've been put through the wringer, but it couldn't have been more perfect. This is a Hauntingly Beautiful Read! Hands down a top favorite this year! WOW!!! This will just blow your mind!! Just a word of warning- this book may not be for everyone. The Story of Father Amadeo Dacaosta and his prey/obsession- Carlotta Tomassi.
If you are familiar with this Ms. Starling's work you'll know what to expect and if not, you are going to get a read that is raw, dark, steamy, intense, dirty, twisted, emotional, and will push the boundaries of what you are comfortable with- all within the confines of the story and boy is it hot. THIS is a deliciously true dark romance and how I enjoyed every moment of it and I am very happy that Isabella Starling is back!!!
Get ready for a twisted rollercoaster ride that will have you wondering what just happened. Father Amadeo is ready to punish somone for the sins a Mafia Boss Tomassi committed and that falls to his very innocent daughter Carlotta. She's the pawn in the war that Amadeo is waging. He plans on some serious revenge.
Father Amadeo, Carlotta, and Valentino are 3 people bound together which involves
kidnapping, questionable consent, dark moments, and BDSM. This book has all the feels, steam, heartbreak, pain, passion, dark love, betrayal, fear, want, desire, forbidden love, and yes- romance that makes this a perfect dark romance read. The ending is just beautiful and fits perfectly.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********* -
4.5⭐️
I read this in one sitting and I really enjoyed it. I was speeding through the pages like no other.
I loved Fr. Amadeo even though he was an asshole. Ugh. But those are my weakness. And he was a proper asshole. He was really out here making me hate him. Job well done. I loved Carlotta, but I wish she didn't give in to him so fast, you know? When she tried holding in her tears to not give him a reaction, I was like girl hold em in. But then she would start crying and I was like ugh. I get it though, I get it. But Valentino, he was my favorite because that man used his head. He really saved the book for me.
Here's my thing.....Amadeo really didn't have to do all that. LMAOOOO He was so extra and for what? For why? I mean I know why, but like WHY?! If you know, you know.
*************SPOILER********************
The twist had me like....Wait....so....Amadeo's wife is Carlotta's mother? So he was torturing his wife's oldest daughter? The book also doesn't tell us if he knows that Carlotta is his wife's daughter. I don't know, that part really fell flat for me.
**************End of Spoiler***************
I really enjoyed this book and it didn't scar me like Priest did so that's a plus. -
Just finished Confess and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Yes it was dark and raw and gritty, there was plenty of violence but wow it was a little mixed up at times but still an addictive read for me, I needed to know what the out come would be.
I was completely invested in these characters. Amadeo was a despicable character to begin with, not very likeable at all. He mainly liked to inflict pain and ridicule his sinner. It took a long time before my heart broke for him.
Valentina was very likeable. He was a kind and selfless guy, trying to do the best for every one.
And Carlotta, she was caught for something she had nothing to do with. Her tale was full of cruelty and abuse.
I liked the conclusion of this twisted book. The ending was just what it needed to bring on a grin and close with a smile. -
Isabella Starling leads you willingly into the dark! Debra @Janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
Confess is so well written that you are immersed in the darkness without caring. It is beautiful as well as tragic. Its characters are not all bad nor are they all good. The flaws are accepted by the reader due to the way life has treated them. It is a love story but not in the typical way a love story is told. I was captivated with it from the very first page. I was lucky enough to be able to read the majority of it in one sitting. Thankful was I that I did.
I cried, I flinched and I screamed for our characters and all they had to go through to get to the end. There are some unexpected moments and there is lots of pain. There is so much feeling inside this story. Prepare yourself for those feelings to shake you up!
Confess by Isabella Starling is original and you really don’t want to miss out on reading it. -
Confess by Isabella Starling
5 Stars
Spectacular erotica very dark romance with many twists and turns with heartbreaks.
"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."
“He cared for you more than he cared for himself.”
"I was worried I’d feel clumsy and unattractive, but he makes my pregnant body feel amazing, calming my mind with sweet, muttered comments that make my spirits soar."
“I want to spend my life discovering every inch of you,” he mutters against my skin. “And claiming you for myself, day after day after day.”
This story is not for everyone but everyone needs to take a risk and give something a chance. I am very happy I got to read it and I loved it! It kept my interest from the cover to the very last word!! -
I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book. It was extremely dark from the very beginning, but if you like that and I do it was definitely a great read. Father Amadeo has several deep, dark secrets and he wants to seek his revenge on Tomassi and the best way to get to him is through his daughter, which he does eventually. This is a very surprising book with twist and turns you never see coming involving a lot of people, but in the end love will prevail, but it won’t be what you expect. Definitely a great book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. -
Warning, this book might shock to your core. This story is dark, twisted and will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Father Amedeo is dark, cruel and even sadistic in his intention for revenge towards the Massimo Tomassi the local mafia kingpin. The victim of his intentions is Carlotta, Massimo's daughter an innocent young woman. She is strong, smart and very oblivious to what her father did to Amedeo . The darkness that surrounds Amedeo is intense and Carlotta wants to help him in his quest for revenge. An intense, dark story from Isabella Starling.

Isabella is back and she brings it...fiercely!!! This one checked all my dark fantasies and ones I never dreamt of. These characters will have you on your knees begging for more.
The suspense, family drama, darkness, se*, mafia and religious mind twists blend together for a story that's hard to describe but man does it tingle in the best, darkest ways possible.
Fans who like their boundaries pushed are going to want to jump into this one and let it consume you. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review. -
The range of emotions I experienced reading this book was amazing. I was angry, I was appalled, disgusted, amazed, sad and happy. It is undoubtedly dark and at times disturbing and once you start reading you can’t put it down and make sure you have tissues ready, the ending is so sad and so happy that if you are like me you will cry through at least the last three chapters. An incredible story.
