The stories in Hindu myth stem from traditions within Hinduism, drawing on stories from ancient texts, like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Keep in mind that because different versions of Hinduism inspire different people, many different versions of the stories float through the jungle and over the stones of temples and traditions. The stories in this volume are my version, though I’ve stuck as closely to the original myths and legends as imagination allows. At the end of this book, you’ll find a short bibliography for further research and reading.

Really good!!!
I have been wanting to read more about Hinduism and since I will be visiting a Hindu Temple in a few weeks I thought this would be a nice chance to read up on some of the stories.
This is a collection of tales which all have underlying meaning, symbols, and teachings.
Very entertaining. I love that some of them even have a little bit of a love story (I especially love Shiva!!)
I think I got this one free or very low cost.
I would recommend. -
Collection of short stories from hindu mythology. I expected it to be like Norse mythology by Neil Gaiman but it's a bit different. The stories are short and simple with details that I didn't knew or were forgotten. Good collection for everyone who knows or wants to know about Hindu mythology. From origin of the big 3 to Ramayan and to myths of krishna.
There are some differences or variations in the stories from what I learnt but that's acceptable. There's never a true or perfect myth, probably because of translation or oral recitations over generations. Whatsoever it's fun to read and spend time. -
I wouldn't call this a "captivating guide", it's more a retelling of popular myths of main Hindu gods and goddesses.

Book itself was fine but the audio book was a mess, lol. Terrible choice in narrator who horribly butchered so many of the Hindu names.

Kindle Unlimited but got it on a freebie day. This is one of several that deal with Mythology, look at very bottom of the list, counted 8 different ones {with this one}, quite interesting.

It is interested to read a brief pantheon history and facts with Hinduism, the oldest surviving religion. Similarities with the Aesir, Vanir, Rokkatru and sacred cow followings show some insight but also how different things got as the ancient ancestors of the indo aryan moved apart. -

This is a great resource for people interested in an overview of the main myths about the most significant gods and goddesses. The guide is easy to read and entertaining. -
I really enjoyed learning about Hindu Mythology. As the author stated the myths can get quite confusing and I was confused at times. The myths were great tales that held my interest.
