After a disagreement with a billionaire, architect Jess Milton is ‘let go’ from her job. However fortune intervenes – an elderly client asks Jess to dog-sit overweight, but loveable dog Brutus in St. Tropez.
Fed up with the mega-rich, Jess is reluctant to visit the playground of billionaires, but an all-expenses-paid trip and the promise of sunshine seals the deal.
Little does Jess know how much time she’ll be spending with the family living in St. Tropez. The sullen, but very good-looking David and his millionaire father are both welcoming but guarded, haunted by their pasts…
Can Jess bring some sunshine back into their lives – and, just maybe, find love in the process?
A heart-warming, funny and emotional journey for fans of Holly Martin, Tilly Tennant and Jenny Oliver.

5☆ Another Must Read!
Once again Trevor has written a Compelling, heart warming Must Read.
He is by far one of my favourite Authors.
You always know that if you pick up one of his books it will be fabulous!
Dreaming of St Tropez is a fun, enthralling, warm, laugh out loud Romance, with a gorgeous location, drama, a dash of mystery and of course a loveable pup!
Poor Jess, she ends up losing her job when a Russian billionaire takes a fancy to her. Quiet rightly so Jess puts him in his place. However the outcome to standing up for herself means she loses her job.
So much for stamping out sexual harassment!
As luck has it Jess gets offered another job.
She is offered a job to look after a client's gorgeous lab Brutus. Yayy I love that Trevor always includes a pup.
Being a dog lover what a fun job!
Jess asks her best friend Hope to join her as they set off to St Tropez to dog sit Brutus. I mean what could possibly go wrong.
I loved Jess, she's strong, kind, has a big heart, loves her job, I admire her strength when she stood up for herself.
But of course for me Brutus was the star of the book. With weight to lose, it was wonderful to see him lose weight and become an energetic, loveable pup.(Not that he wasn't loveable to start with)
It's a vivid rich tale that has absolutely stolen my heart. It's Enchanting in every sense. The setting descriptions are superbly written I was literally transported to St Tropez.
The Characters are relatable, witty and strong.
Trevor always has knack of storytelling with a lot of heart, fun, warmth and always makes you feel good.
Be prepared to fall in love with this gorgeous feel good book.
It really does have a lil of everything.
Sun, sea, romance, laughter, mischief, drama, a pup and a gorgeous location.
Thank you to Canelo for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
My Review is also on my Blog Website:

I'm starting to think I must repeat myself every time I read a T.A. Williams book, between the stunning location, delicious food, great friendship and adorable dog and a gorgeous guy what more could a girl want in a book.
Let's start with the location, St. Tropez in the French Riviera, which is every bit as glamorous as it sounds, a town filled with the rich and famous but also plenty of regular people too, which was a relief to Jess as she isn't too keen to rich people.
Almost from the moment the girls arrive in France, you are bombarded with descriptions of the area, their home for the summer, and also all the French food, from the crumbling flaky pastries for breakfast to the arrange of fruit and veg available locally and meals out in restaurants, you certainly get the gourmet's guide to Williams' St. Tropez.
When Jess loses her job for standing up for herself, she isn't sure what to do but a former client turns into her saviour by offering a few months in the sun, in St. Tropez looking after her dog Brutus, while she goes on a round the world cruise. Jess is allowed to invite her best friend, Hope along, and Hope has been dreaming of visiting St. Tropez for many years. Thankfully they both like jobs and Jess is also asked to try to improve the lives of the men living in the French residence.
David is her client's grandson, and he and his father have been having a difficult time over the past few years, and although I kind of liked the look of some of the other men floating about in St. Tropez, Jess's heart felt something towards one in particular even without being sure why.
Brutus, what a fabulous dog, he as labradors often are one of the stars of the book, starting a an overweight dog that needs to be put on a diet, as the girls look after him more and more, he starts to act more like an active dog with plenty of energy. Regardless throughout he is capable of getting up to hilarious mischief!
I was enthralled from start to finish in this immensely enjoyable story of sun, sea, sand, swimming and St. Tropez.
Thank you to Netgalley and Canelo for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily. -
This is another superb story from this highly talented author. I recommend you go read the book rather than my review, then get ready for a humorous story with great characters, stupendous settings and a plot filled with fun, mystery, suspense and, of course, romance!
So, just in case you’d like to know more . . . .
Jess is a bright, successful architect who, after upsetting a Russian Oligarch by standing up for herself, loses her job. This turns out to be fortuitous as a former elderly client, Mrs Dupont, asks her to take her beloved black Labrador, Brutus, to her son, George, who lives in St Tropez, so he can look after the pampered pooch whilst she is off cruising round the world for three months - though she’d rather Jess stay to look after Brutus as her son is very absent minded. What a great offer - an all expenses paid holiday, a luxury car and somewhere to stay for all the three months if she wants and the option to take a friend with her. Jess and Hope jump at the chance and so their adventure begins!
This is a delightful, laugh out loud romance, especially with the antics of Brutus! George is as absent minded as his Mum had warned but it is his son, David, who catches Jess’s eye. Mind you, he’s the first of many great characters Jess and Hope meet in the area and both will find love and romance in the end. However, along the way there are tragedies to discover, friends to be made, danger to escape from and romance to be found for not just one but three couples in this story.
The settings are so brilliantly portrayed it feels like you’re actually there, though there’s one setting where I’d really not have liked to have been (but I’m not saying any more about that - you’ll need to read it yourself to discover what I mean). There are also some really tasty dishes described that will have your mouth salivating in anticipation. I’d love to know if these restaurants actually exist - I’d love to dine at the one in the cellar and join in the beach party! Through it all Brutus has a starring role and is a great character. I’d love to know what Mrs Dupont thought when she saw him again!
This is a great read that had me enthralled from start to finish. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it - and any other books by this author - to anyone who enjoys fun reads with great characters having adventures and finding romance in beautiful settings.
I requested and was given a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it. -

Architect Jess Milton is showing a Russian billionaire around his soon to become home when he makes one to many sexual remarks about her. Jess tells him in no uncertain terms what she thinks about him and that he can’t ‘buy’ her. The billionaire warns her she will be sorry, and sure enough, the company she works for is letting her go, stating restructuring.
Word of mouth travels fast and it isn’t long until an elderly ex-client gets in touch with Jess offering her an unconventional job. She is off on a cruise around the world that is going to be a few months long and she needs someone to look after her Labrador Brutus. Not only that, but she wants Jess to take Brutus to stay with her son in St. Tropez, France and stay with them to make sure that her son takes good care of her dog.
Jess negotiates that her best friend Hope, who has always wanted to visit the place, can join her too. Soon the two, and Brutus, are heading for a summer in the most gorgeous place filled with scrumptious food, divine wines and of course sexy men.
Dreaming of St-Tropez is another of T.A. Williams beautiful books set in an exotic location. I have visited St. Tropez, once a good few years ago and I can still remember the feel of the place. It is like no other I have ever been too. It is spellbinding and magical and makes you feel like a million dollar, whilst surrounded by those that are actually worth that amount, and more.
T.A. Williams manages to create a feeling of standing right in the heart of the town through his superb, visual writing. The setting was just perfect and had me right back there. The characters too were all pleasantly realistic, which is what makes the book so appealing – that and the eye-catching cover.
This is definitely a book to put on your summer reading list. It is a light-hearted read, but one that is addictive and had me wanting more. I just didn’t want to put it down, in fact I read it in one sitting. -
Jess loses her job after a terrible meeting with a rude client. The billionaire isn't only interested in Jess's skills as an architect and what he asks her to do makes her gag. She sets him straight and seals her fate. Being unemployed doesn't look as daunting as Jess initially thought though. A former client has a proposition for her. She offers Jess a stay at the family home in St. Tropez if Jess will watch her overweight labrador Brutus. It's an offer she can't refuse. Will St. Tropez be as wonderful as she thought it would be?
Jess isn't only in St. Tropez to watch her elderly friend's dog. She's also being asked to keep an eye on her friend's son and grandson who have recently suffered a great loss. After her experiences in London Jess isn't very fond of rich people, but David, the grandson, has a certain appeal. However, he's wounded, withdrawn and rude. Will she be able to get him out of his shell and what is his story? Can Jess make a difference in the lives of the people she's staying with and is there a chance her own heart will heal in the process as well?
Dreaming of St-Tropez is a wonderful romantic story. Jess is a levelheaded woman. She can stand up for herself and knows what she wants and likes. She has a lovely caring personality and doesn't give up if she wants to achieve something. St. Tropez is a dream destination and Jess feels at home straight away, I loved how well she fits in. The sunshine, the meals and the people are lifting her spirits, which is exactly what she needs. I couldn't wait to find out if she'd be able to accomplish her mission. David is an intriguing character. He's clearly troubled and needs to find a new direction in life. I was curious to learn David's secrets and couldn't turn the pages quickly enough to find out more about his enigmatic personality.
T.A. Williams has a great descriptive writing style. I loved the way he makes St. Tropez come to life. He perfectly captures the atmosphere, the taste of the food and the beauty of the surroundings. I like that he combines a gorgeous setting with sunshine, making progress and romance. It's a fabulous mix that works really well. I love it when a story has such a delightful feelgood factor and T.A. Williams makes this feeling complete by adding the most adorable dog. I'm a big fan of books with amazing animals and Brutus is quite a character. He kept putting a big smile on my face, which is exactly what a sunny summer story should do. Dreaming of St-Tropez is a heartwarming book with plenty of charm, true love, drama and entertainment. -
A perfect summer holiday read. That has lots of romance, love and fun in it. It will leave you dreaming of your own holiday to st tropez.
-
It's an absolute pleasure and delight to have indulged in another gorgeous read from the pen (or perhaps computer?) of T. A. Williams.
Jess Milton's friend Hope has a poster of St-Tropez which she looks at longingly and dreams of the day she may finally manage to visit. When Jess stands up to a Russian oligarch not used to hearing the word 'no' he extracts his revenge by getting her fired from her architect's job. Just as she's enjoying her gardening leave, courtesy of a generous payoff, a former client asks her to get in touch, then makes her an offer which she really cannot refuse. In the course of carrying out this favour, she gets to make Hope's dream come true as well. Result!
As always, this author has a flair for setting his novel in an awe-inspiring location and then proceeding to make the reader feel like a local. The information on St-Tropez and the surrounding area would put any tourist information kiosk to shame, and I can't imagine I'm the only person feeling like having an extended stay there by the time I settled into this read.
With an idyllic location, the story is as well-written and flowing as always. A good plot with well rounded characters who feel so real that I would expect to meet them if I ever managed to visit the area. As in all Trevor Williams' books, there is the inclusion of a black labrador, showing all the traits of this wonderful breed and, for me, the icing on the cake of each of this author's novels. A good satisfying read, with all the storylines neatly tied off and a sense of goodwill as you reach the end. Why wouldn't you add this to your reading list? Perfect holiday read and worthy of a full five golden, sunny stars!
My thanks to publishers Canelo for auto-approving my copy via NetGalley. This is my honest, original and unbiased review. -
I love TA Williams books- they always have wonderful characters, superb vividly described settings and a lovely labrador dog .St Tropez has never really been on my radar but now I'd love to go and visit and enjoy the scenery and the trappings of wealth on show.
Jess has agreed to take a dog over to St Tropez and spend a few weeks dog sitting. Her friend has always had a dream about St Tropez- so she eagerly agrees to accompany her. They also plan to get the dog back in shape and reduce his calorie intake!
Their 'holiday home' sounds idyllic and although they are looking after the dog they are keen to help out where they can. The son seems to be quite distant and arrogant- but Jess has more contact with him and little sparks fly between them. She is keen to help both David and his Dad move on after suffering a bereavement.
I could just imagine walking along the coastal path into the town, taking the path that leads directly to the beach and also a peep at the luxury yacht.
I was totally drawn into another world, keen to enjoy everything along with the characters and now can't wait until he releases his next book. The perfet summer read. -
You can always depend on TA Williams books to transport you somewhere. The places he chooses to set his novels are sunny and fun and always interesting. There' romantic comedies and this one involves a rather oversized dog which seems to take over and it's why Jess gets the chance to go to St Tropez. Now, I'm no dog lover but even I would be up for heading out to the gem of the French Riviera and spend time in St Tropez. I have been and it's as lovely as he describes but I'd like to go again and walk Brutus this time!
Fun and carefree this tales are. A lovely book to read when you just want to enjoy a book. relax in the sun and pretend you're actually in the place where it's set. -
What another fantastic read from this author. This was a wonderful read. Whats not to love. Invite to dog sit a black lab, in a guest house in St Tropez. Where do i sign up? This is exactly what Jess and her friend Hope do for the summer. You follow the ups and downs. meeting of new friends. And a touch of romance to add to the mix. Love the writers style of writing. He keeps you entertained. Will be a top summer read

Dreaming of St Tropez is a wonderful read that will put you in the mood to take a sun-drenched holiday. Love comes in many shapes and sizes and it doesn’t always look the way one might expect. Sometimes honesty goes out the window when someone is trying to impress another, but honesty always needs to be part of your communication if you’re going to make things work at the end of the day. Finding love, friendship, and joy in life is a wonderful thing in a tropical place like St Tropez.
Overcoming past troubles both emotionally and physically can take a toll, but over time the joy of life wins when you’re surrounded with people that are caring and supportive. This story was filled with lots of interesting and likable characters mixed with some surprises along the way. From start to finish this was a thoroughly enjoyable novel that I highly recommend. -
I loved this book, and reading it in the sunshine while on holiday only made it better. The usual array of great characters; a sensible heroine and a tortured hero. What more could a reader want? Oh yes, a black Labrador; and this time, the dog is pretty much the star of the show. Great fun!
-
Bought this book from Big W in the sale table and took a chance on buying and read it. I found it to be a great read enjoable in fact. I would recommend it to any one to read.
-
A light summer read, with a predictable story line. I enjoyed the descriptions of the beautiful Mediterranean coast and carefree lifestyle.
-
Can I say my dream is to actually BE a character in one of T.A.'s books?? I've read and reviewed several of his books, and I absolutely love them!! This book is no exception. A delightful setting, a summer rent-free in a guest house with her best friend, new friends, a good looking guy...AND a lovable black Labrador? Yes please! I enjoyed every minute of this book and it's the perfect vacation or beach read. I read the entirety of it on a cross country flight and it helped me imagine I was reading on a nice warm beach instead of stuck in an airplane! I loved Jess as a character, and I also really liked David as a character, mysterious as he was at first. But my favorite character of all--Brutus--the black Lab! Out of all T.A.'s books this is one where I really want to know more about what happens to the characters after the book is over! If you're looking for a light, entertaining, makes you happy beach read--this is the book for you!

After having reviewed an ARC of Dreaming of Florence, also by T.A. Williams, I was eager to review his next book. More detailed review coming soon.
Thanks to T.A Williams and Canelo for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review as well as an opportunity to take part in the blog tour for this title. -
3% into the book I was already checking to see if the author is male, because I wasn't buying any of the female dialogue. When was the last time your best friend, who knows you're not into casual sex, tells you, "What you need is the love of a good man – not just a quick one-night stand?” Thanks, Captain Obvious.
I had higher hopes when they actually made it into St Tropez (15% into the book), but unfortunately the book never really took off for me. I get it was supposed to be a light summer read so I wasn't looking for depth or subtlety, but I didn't care about any of the bland characters or contrived situations. The way the main character thought logically through everything in her head, even when she was in denial and lying to herself, struck me as inauthentic. I also had significant problems with how she thought about her love interest, but I don't want to give away spoilers there.
I finished the book because I got it for free from NetGalley and felt like I should give honest feedback of the whole book. If I had picked this up on my own I wouldn't have made it past 25%. -
3.5/4ish ⭐️
The first half of the book read somewhat ‘proper’. Kind of formal imo. (Maybe I just wasn’t expecting the British flair?!?) However, once Jess + Hope were settled in St Trop and getting on with island life (about 40% in) it seemed to relax and turn a leaf. Blossom so to speak. From then on, I thoroughly enjoyed the read and loved all the characters.
Excited for my next read by this author!
*Thanks, Angelina Coco Cabina, for the bday gift 💝 -
I had a number of TA Williams’ books on my Kindle when I saw people raving about this and the guilt I felt was immense having sen how lovely the author is on social media in terms of sharing content, being supportive to other authors etc (we’re in the same chick lit group). As a result I went straight to Amazon to grab this, a gorgeous read set on the French Reviera (note: phew to my loving it as I’d never read his books before!!).
So this is the story of Jess, who we meet showing around a sexist brute who is a Russian aristocrat. Jess turns kick-ass on him and next thing we know, she’s without a job. I easily settled into the book and was thrilled when her and her friend Hope began to discuss how great it would be to get away somewhere like-say-St. Tropez. Instead they’re dog walking (in all fairness, not something I’d mind, and they don’t either, but, you know, I’ve gotta set the scene and all;)) and trying to figure out what to do. Enter Brutus, a lovable labrador (who supplies many moments of easy going comedy throughout the book) and his owner, who needs someone to help mind the dog. And guess where they need to go? You’ve guessed it! They’re heading to the sun soaked, picturesque St. Tropez!! (Yes, there are moments such as this that are idyllic and make you cock your head to one side, but it really didn’t matter. )
With drama thrown in left right and centre, a who will she end up with that’s done very well, a moody, sullen, millionaire that has plenty of issues to deal with, and oh, yes, special mention for the bodyguard of the piece, I found this book to be beautiful, mesmirising actually in terms of its settings, and yet with an unputdownable quality to it that made me sure I’m going to start moving through T A Williams’ back catalogue quick smart. The perfect summer read that puts you in the most lovely holiday mood.
Rating: 5/5 -
I enjoy T.A. Williams stories of travel, new beginnings and romance. In Dreaming of St. Tropez, we meet Jess Milton, an architect who is let go from her firm after a rude encounter with one of their high profile clients. Out of a job and not sure what to do next, she is offered an opportunity to get away. She is offered a job to look after a client's lab Brutus, in St. Tropez. She and her friend Hope, along with Brutus, head off a bit reluctantly and arrive at the villa. They were a bit unexpected, but have a lovely guesthouse to stay in. As they settle in, Jess becomes friendly with the owner of the villa and his son David. She begins to love the area and the people, but knows that she wants to continue her career as an architect and will need to return home.
This was a beautiful story. Jess was not sure what to do next, but as she begins to unwind, you see a caring, sweet woman who doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She easily makes friends with those she meets and has a lot of integrity. I immediately disliked the man who had her fired from her job. Hope has her own storyline in the book that added to my enjoyment. I love seeing women stand up for themselves. Brutus was an amazing character as well. He was an overweight dog who brought Jess and David together. He loved swimming in the sea and going for walks. A real personality as we know all dogs are. David was the grandson of Jess' client and had undergone his own tragedy. She had hoped that Jess would help bring him out of his self-imposed isolation. This was a sweet and heartwarming story, with some serious issues of sexual harassment, overcoming injuries, standing up for oneself and beginning again. I always love the travel aspect to Trevor's books and this one did not disappoint. This is a compelling, heart warming must read, and in these times of limited travel was a perfect fit. -

If you love the idea in Emily in Paris, you might love this book BUT do not put high hopes because, but wait, - The vibeeee people the vibeeeee ! The vibe in this book is so incredible. Lemme tell you smthg, I was literally IN ST TROPEZ throughout my reading. Honestly, the food, the shops, the beach, they all felt surreal <3 I could literally imagine how bright the place is and everything felt so warm and cozy. Jess, is a British, got offered a simple job at St Tropez which was to babysit a dog of her client. All expenses and accommodations are paid. You can say that she got a long freeee holiday there. So then, she met this guy, he's French and his name is David and boom hihi :D No spoiler please.
I wouldnt say the book is dramatic like Emily in Paris HAHA. This is pretty much lighter and less complicated. But i did enjoy this book a lot, and this book is sooooo underrated ??? It deserves more loveee! I highly recommend this book if you're just in the mood of something light and not that cheezy and not that dramatic. Until next time ! :) -
If you're looking for the perfect holiday read, for the beach or even the back garden, this is it.
Sun, sea, a troubled hero, a lovable dog and an intelligent, kind heroine who lives her life with integrity make this an absorbing read with plenty of laughs, most of them doggy related. Conflict-ridden romance and a second chance at life mean this story is full of poignant moments too.
The story reveals St Tropez as something more than a rich person's playground, with its historic past, unspoilt beauty and intrinsically interesting population. The story has a delightful symmetry when Jess unjustly loses her job only to find a 21st- century fairy godmother provides her with a holiday and a chance to make a difference to two people who life has mistreated.
Believably vivid characters bring this story to life, and there are pockets of excitement amongst the romance and angst to keep you turning the pages.
Full of sunshine, a few clouds and the winds of change this is a lovely, easy to read holiday romance.
I received a copy of this book from Canelo via NetGalley in return for an honest review. -
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review via Netgalley.
This book began for me as a fun, but rather superficial three star read, but about half way, the emotional content upped my final review to four stars.
This is a good, in parts fun, spring/summer read. Great for travel and going on holiday with.
Jess is a good solid character, who won’t put up with being sexually harassed at work. Unfortunately this means getting sacked, but she and her also jobless friend Hope are offered the trip of a lifetime dog sitting their friend’s retriever in St Tropez.
It’s fun, not always believable, as most of us would never have the luck or find the money for such a trip (it’s quite middle class in this way), and St Tropez and the location of the villa sound amazing. The dog, as well as the variety of secondary characters are also good.
I did find both Jess and Hope’s relationships a bit hard to believe, but not enough to spoil the book overall. What made all this less relevant was Jess’s warmth and kindness. Plus I always like a smart heroine.
A lighthearted read. I would be interested in reading other titles by this author also. -
This is another great summer read from T A Williams. I have been looking forward to reading it as I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dreaming of Florence. (You can read my review here.) This one lived up to my expectations. It has a tremendous setting, a great cast of characters, a sparky and intelligent central character and that gorgeous black labrador. The descriptions of St Tropez really make the place come alive, it is so full of the sights, the colours and the sounds of the South of France.
Jess is a thoroughly likeable heroine, without pretension and you really believe that she would fit into the place so quickly. There are some real touches of humour, some of which are the result of that black labrador's exploits whose eyes are always bigger than his tummy in good labrador fashion.
In short: A taste of Summer served up between two delicious slices of French bread.
Thanks to the author for a copy of the book. -
I like a book that grabs me right from the first page and keeps me interested all through the story. This book does just that. The author helps the reader to visualise the places, the characters and 'Bruno' the dog. He is very descriptive at times and I found myself wandering St-Tropez along with Jess Milton, I found myself listening and relating to all that she had to say about the rich Russian, her work, her freinds and her love life.
Jess needs to chill out after losing her job....this is where the story really starts, a chance to get away, relax, have fun, meet new people, who knows....even fall in love!
There is fun, drama and romance in the story and the book is very easy to read. I will be reading more book by T.A. Williams, if this book is anything to go by, then I have a lot to look forward to. -
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I'm giving this book a 3.5 stars. When I picked up this book, I didn't know anything about the author and I hadn't heard of the book. However, I knew I wanted a lighter read that whisked me away to somewhere beautiful. And that's exactly what I got from this book. Overall, I enjoyed the book a lot. It would have been a solid four star rating from me, but I wasn't fond of the paths a few of the minor story lines took in this book, and I didn't love a few of the minor characters either. However, I wanted to feel like I was in a foreign country living life in a beautiful location and from T.A. Williams' writing and descriptions, I definitely got those feelings! I'm definitely interesting in reading some more of his books to see what they have in store!

Oh now here is an author who is quick becoming one where I know I will be transported to a stunning location and get wrapped up in an alternative world providing much needed distraction.
I love reading in the sunshine and although I may not currently be able to visit the stunning coast of St Tropez, this book felt like I was there enjoying the delicious food, stunning scenery and sandy dance floor.
A story that whisked me away from reality and deposited me in the world of Jess and her chance for a summer in St Tropez. Once again this story contained a bit of mystery, a bit of romance, gorgeous food and wonderful views.
What more do you need when looking for some escapism! -
Once again, the author's keen eye for detail immediately transports us to the sunny Mediterranean. When Jess loses her job through no fault of her own, she can hardly imagine that before long she'll be living the high life in St, Tropez. Naturally, she has to take best friend Hope on the journey as it's really her dream. Brutus the dog is an inspired creation and provides some humour along the way. A lovely easy to read style and pure escapism - loved it!
