Flicka needs to hide.

She’s on the run from her cheating, soon-to-be ex-husband Prince Pierre and his Secret Service, and she doesn’t have a passport, credit cards, or money. She needs to get to Paris to talk to her lawyers about divorcing that bastard.

The only thing standing between her and the cheating prince is Dieter Schwarz, her bodyguard, her protector, and her ex-lover. He’s six feet, four inches of sarcasm, black humor, and rock-hard muscle. A former Swiss mercenary, now he owns and operates Rogue Security—a band of former special operations soldiers, SEALs, hackers, and spies—which will take any dirty covert operation for the right price.

But her ex’s Secret Service is tracking her, and even Dieter and the Rogues might not be able to keep her safe from her ex.

And once again, she’s falling in love with Dieter, which might be the most dangerous thing of all.

How can a princess survive in a world without kingdoms?

    AUDIOBOOK 🎧

Well, the ARC landed in my e-reader on my birthday, of all days, I couldn't have asked for a better day for it's arrival!! Thank you 💕 I waited for my purchased copy to arrive, today 8th May, to start & complete a re-read & write my review 😃

Book 2 'In Shining Armor', takes us back to Dieter's Hotel room. It's the morning after Flicka escaped from Pierre, to Dieter's room & safety. It goes into more detail, explaining how he gets Flicka away from Montreux, Switzerland to Paris, France!!

It also goes into more depth about their friendship from when she was a child, as she continued to grow up & then into the year long relationship Dieter & Flicka had in London 2 years prior. This was fascinating & I think imperative for us readers!! It explained an awful lot that many of us 'super fans' weren't sure about. Of course it's written by Blair so we're still left with a billion more questions unanswered 🙄😂 I have to say about this part, they were smoking hot together!!!🔥🔥 Excellent job Blair, keep getting inspiration where ever you find it 😉😉😂

When the story came back to the 'present' it was full of tension & the constant potential for disaster & danger at any moment was palpable!! Fingernails were bitten to stubs 😳

I'm trying not to include spoilers as I HATE them in reviews but it's SO hard!!! There's was so much information included or teased. Ok some we may have guessed at, other bits we thought were possibilities but this is the most Wiley Author I know & I don't trust ANYTHING until I've read it in the book & that Series is fully complete 😂😂 She's a demon for putting twists in her story's & as this is a Fairy Tale I'm anticipating bigger twists than ever 😆 I mean she flat out fibbed (a nice way of saying lied/wriggled out of/dissembled etc) for FOUR years about the storyline for book 1 😳 😂 #Genius 💖

This installment of Runaway Billionaire's, In Shining Armor, Flicka #2 is, in a word, BRILLIANT!!! We get to learn so much more about Dieter & his past. His fears & his love for two beautiful blondes 💕 We also see Flicka being as vulnerable as she is capable of right now. Her training as a Royal, that deep seated strength, is what's holding her together at the moment, well that and her burning fury!!!
I think certain people need to run & hide once our beautiful Princess gets through this awful time. Once she's pulled herself together she is going to burn Pierre's world to the ground!!! 🌎🔥 That's my hope anyway!!

Another unmissable read, thank you 🙏💕 Especially for the 'wandering shlong' 😉😂

Flicka needs to get to Paris to file for her divorce as soon as possible. After being violated by her husband Pierre, the Prince of Monaco, she doesn't want to have anything to do with him anymore. Flicka escaped from him and his secret service officers and ran to the only person she trusts with her life, Dieter. Dieter is her shield and would do anything to keep her safe. Flicka did what she thought was right when she married Pierre, but she couldn't have been more wrong. Will Flicka make it to Paris, so she can consult her lawyers?

Flicka is in great danger now that she's on the run. Pierre will stop at nothing to get her back to Monaco. To keep his rights to the throne he needs to produce a legal heir. He desperately needs Flicka and tries to force her to agree. Flicka has grown up surrounded by wealth and is accustomed to the best money can buy. She was raised by her brother, who protected her as well as he could. She has no idea how the world works for normal people and she has to adjust quickly. She has no passport, clothes or money, because she left it all when she fled from her hotel room. Dieter and his employers of Rogue Security need to come up with a plan to get her under the radar for as long as possible. Can Dieter keep Flicka safe long enough to get the divorce finalized?

In Shining Armor is the second book in the Runaway Princess series. Flicka is a sensitive, beautiful young woman who made choices for all the wrong reasons and therefore she needs help. She has known Dieter since she was just a child. Flicka seems helpless from time to time, but she has proven to have more strength than I initially gave her credit for. I loved to read more about her and I connected with her straight away when I read Once Upon a Time. That didn't change when reading In Shining Armor, which is something I enjoyed a lot. Flicka is used to have privileges and can get a bit uncertain when she has to travel like everyone else. Many regular things are unknown to her, but the way she handles every new challenge is admirable. I am rooting for her to stay safe, so she can let true love in.

Blair Babylon's writing style kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading In Shining Armor. The book is filled with descriptions of life as a royal, the good and the bad. I loved that it also shows how vulnerable people at court really are. They'll need around the clock protection to remain safe wherever they go. Even when they're in the safety of their own homes, bodyguards are always around. It must be suffocating to live like this, but Flicka and her brother accept it as part of their lives. Flicka and her brother always stand together and are very close. I love to read books about strong family bonds that come to life incredibly well. They give me a warm feeling, because I share the same with my family. In Shining Armor is a fast-paced story filled with danger, intriguing royal families and secrets that are meant to stay hidden, but come to the surface anyway. I fell in love with the Runaway Princess series ever since I read the first book, Once Upon a Time, and am eagerly waiting to read more about Flicka's adventures.

In Shining Armor is an exquisite, no holds barred fabulous sequel to Once Upon a Time. This story will lead you on a journey of epic proportions. You will find a soul deep courage that will help you crawl out of the blackest pit, reunite with the fiercest and purest love, and fight for brightest hope that you can ever imagine. No one can deny that this story will have ripple effects into the lives of many, and I hope that you hold onto the good, pure, and real things in this life. Those are the only things that make life worth living.

Flicka has found herself in a dangerous and devastating situation. This was something she never saw coming and could never have imagined. Can she find a way to escape the hell she finds herself in, or will she walk into another heart breaking situation that will leave shattered and broken for life? Dieter is pulled back into a world that he thought he left behind. Unfortunately, fate sometimes sees fit to give us what we want, but in the most torturous of ways. Can Dieter keep Flicka safe from the one man who threatens to break and destroy his only true love? When push comes to shove, people find themselves doing things they never would ever considered under normal circumstances. Unfortunately keeping everyone guessing may the only thing that stays Flicka alive.

Flicka and Dieter have been on my mind for the longest time, and now that I see their story unfolds before me, I am in heavenly awe. There is so much for these two need to work out, but if they listen with an open and loving heart, they might just find their perfect happily ever after. Watching Flicka grow into a gorgeous, determined, and feisty woman gave me a new respect for her, and likewise watching Dieter grow into a more mature man gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation of this complex man that I have fallen hard for. These two fit so perfectly together that it brought tears to my eyes a few times.

Blair Babylon is really outdoing herself with this series. It is so different and yet still holds her trademark touch and huge heart. No one can write these stories better then Blair, and no one can make me feel so deeply and so thoroughly. Her books are truly the pinnacle of romantic suspense, and her talent is nothing less than a true and accomplished master. What a brilliant and spectacular masterpiece that you don’t want to miss!

4.5 star Review In Shining Armour: Billionaires In Disguise: Flicka (Runaway Princess #2) by Blair Babylon

    AUDIO REVIEW:
This is the second book in the series and if you have not read or listened to Once Upon A Time, then you need to STOP and listen. The story continues and we get more of a back story of the history of Flicka von Hannover and Dieter Schwarz. Again narrated by Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers, they did a good job with their narration and their voices are easy to listen too.
There are twists and turns within this story and the deceit by Flicka’s husband Prince Pierre Grimaldi comes to light, although this gives Flicka and Dieter the opportunity to re connect on a deeply personal level.
This book ends in a cliff hanger, so you have been warned. I cannot wait to listen to the next book. There is so much more to all of these characters and I cannot wait to discover the secrets that Dieter has spent his life hiding.

Will Pierre’s secret service find them before they can escape and drag Flicka back to her evil ex? Or will Dieter be able to keep her safe?

I really need a break from so much stuff but I can't give up on books. I can't and that's a fact. I think that reading is what makes me sane and I can't stop even if I wanted to.
Blair Babylon is one of the many responsibles for this addiction of mine and I make sure to thank her for that.
Her writing is hot and wild, full of meaning and feelings with a touch of drama into the plot. Each book is special and I always want more.
In Shining Armor is her latest release and it's the second book from the Runaway Princess Bride series and I need to tell you something. This book is not a standalone therefor you should read Once Upon a Time first and then go from there.
This book continues to tell the stories of Flicka and Dieter.
So, like you already know Flicka is trying to escape her cheating soon to be ex husband and with Dieter's help she hopes to achieve it. She's in great danger because no one can predict what that man can do.
This book also focus on their pasts, how they meet and how they got together.
But how can I say more about this book without spoil? I can't. I really can't.
This book is way more intense than the first one. The danger is lurking in every corner and that made this reading even more exciting.
The plot is amazing, very well written, super engaging and stunning. Each chapter made me more nervous than the latest and I was beyond happy.
The level of suspense is through the roof and I almost got insane, almost.
Oh Blair this series is getting better by the minute and I'm loving every second of it. It's a different writing from what you gave me in the past but it also amazing and I can't wait for book 3.
Will it take to long to arrive? Please say no... Please.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Let me give you some idea about how excited I was about this book. I got it on my kindle at 6.45am. I read it on the train to work, during lunch, and whilst on the train on the way home. I then absorbed the rest of this story whilst sat on my sofa.

Sometimes, work just gets in the way of more important things. Things such as reading books like this.

If, like me, you have been eagerly awaiting the telling of Flicka's tale, this book is as essential as breathing.

    Overselling? Not to my mind.

There is more to this than a simple telling of a tale. There is a tenderness, an empathy, a gentleness to the details given that will break your heart for these two, just a little.

I'm sure there are difficult times ahead. But when has Blair ever failed to deliver the goods?

She knocked it out of the park with this. Shouldn't every Princess have her own Frog Prince?

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Audio Review: In Shining Armor: Billionaires in Disguise: Flicka (Runaway Princess Bride, #2) by Blair Babylon, Narrated by Jason Clarke & Lucy Rivers

Escape in a story forever keeps you guessing. Babylon keeps emotions on edge with an unpredictable story of love, hate and heartache. In Shining Armor continues it's intriguingly suspenseful tangle with danger even as your falling in love. Flicka and Dieter walk a precarious line between life and that death that pulls you along for the ride. A suspenseful seduction that will keep a heart racing all the way through.

  • Dawn Myers

I really enjoyed this book, in my opinion this was definitely better than Once Upon a Time. In Shining Armor filled in a lot of backstory on Flicka and Dieter. With Dieter there is still secrets about him I'm sure will come to light in future stories. Blair Babylon kept me on the edge of my seat wondering when Pierre was coming to get Flicka. I believe there is a lot of action to come, I personally can't wait to see where Flicka and Dieter's story goes.

  • Elizabeth Connor

Sometimes when you get to the end of a book it's not a cliffhanger, but it sure as hell feels like one. This is one of those books. I feel wrung out and weak. The love, the depth of emotion shared between Dieter and Flicka is tangible and intense. The history they share is fascinating. It almost seems inevitable that they would fall in love.

At one point Dieter and Flicka have a conversation about men assaulting women, and the excuses that women make to learn to live with this. They discuss how women will hold their keys in their fists to create a weapon, or watch shadows to see if anyone is walking behind them, or check the backseat of the car to make sure no one's hiding there. You're supposed to leave if any guy shows aggressive tendencies toward you. You must always be aware of your surroundings. And if something does happen, they blame you for not doing all of these things the right way. Dieter explains this is magical thinking. Its purpose is to help women deal with the fact that this could happen to them by blaming the victim for allowing it to happen to her. It helps to bury the fear, but it does nothing to stop men from assaulting women. In this time of the me-too movement, this was the perfect way to encapsulate exactly what has been going on.

Some of the descriptors were so visceral as to draw me back to that time when I was young and felt emotions so intensely. There's nothing quite like those life and death feelings that we experience as teens and young adults. There's a purity to first love that simply cannot be matched. Some of the quotes in the book capture this feeling perfectly. At the risk of overdoing it I'm going to share some of my favorites.

That kiss was his life flashing before his eyes as he lay dying, the moments of passion and nights lying in her arms. It was fire and life and the sweetness of desire as his lips caressed hers.

The stars above the Earth shifted in the dark sky. The air was thinner as he gasped, forgetting how to breathe.

Her whole body craved him like she been missing sunshine her whole life.

….her body felt like her soul had broken free and was floating near the ceiling.

She had thought she had a years-old teenage crush on Dieter Schwarz, her bodyguard, her older brother's best friend.
She’d thought she could handle it, that she'd have a youthful fling and fondly remember him. The affair would probably even satisfy her crush, and then she'd be ready for the rest of her life.
    Oh, God.
She couldn't bear to move. She couldn't think about leaving the next morning for class.
She was trying to memorize his soft breath on her shoulder and his skin on hers.
He gathered her closer, tucking her head under his chin, even in his sleep.
Her head lay on his chest.
His heartbeat under her ear, a solid pulse of life.
She'd been dying for this moment her whole life.

Now, I am dying for the conclusion of this story!

P.S. - Believe it or not, I think the very end of the book may have been the most impactful for me. In a note from Blair Babylon, she covers the statistics involved in rape and the variety of reactions that women can have to this violation. Since 1 in 6 women are raped during their lifetime it's particularly touching that Blair manages to assure the reader that everyone's reaction is valid. Truly, the last part of this book, the part that is real, the part where the author reaches out and offers help to the reader, was the part that brought me to tears.

Edited 3/15/21 to add my comments on the audiobook.
    Overall – 5
    Performance – 5
    Story – 5

This is a great series; I’m loving the audiobooks!

Lucy Rivers and Jason Clarke continue to do a fantastic job performing the books in this series. I can’t wait to listen to the next one!

In Shining Armor is book two of the Runaway Princess series and it picks up where book one left off, the aftermath of Flicka's encounter with her horrible, soon-to-be ex-husband. She awakens hurting all over and it takes her a bit to remember what happened. While Blair Babylon does a pretty good job of recapping some of the things from Once Upon a Time you really need to read it first.

Dieter is working to arrange things so that they can get out of the country; no small feat since Flicka doesn't have her passport. We also learn a bit more about Dieter in this one; he's not exactly who he says he is.

Dieter would die to protect Flicka but it still hurts him to be lying to his best friend, Wulf, who is also Flick's brother. He must lie because there is too much danger for Flicka if others know where she is; her ex-husband has said he will kill her if she won't come back and live with him in Monaco.

This book is an adventure ride as well as a continuation of the love story between Flicka and Dieter. How they get out of the country, and then how they nearly don't elude the bad guys, kept me on the edge of my seat during much of the story.

This is another wonderful story by Blair Babylon and I can't wait for the next part to come out next month. The teaser for In A Faraway Land found at the end of In Shining Armor was the worst kind of teaser and made me want the next book even more than I already did.

As I said in my review of book one, I'm not a fan of cliffhangers. However, Blair Babylon's writing is brilliant and she has never failed to publish the conclusion to a series once it has started. She also doesn't take what should be one book and chop it into parts. Book one was over 300 pages long and this one is over 200.

I have no doubt that book three will be just as satisfying as the first two. This is one of those series that I can't wait to know the end and yet I know I won't want it to end. It's a good thing that Blair already has several other stories planned out.

While I received an advanced copy of this book so that I could leave a review on release day, I also purchased a copy and my review was not influenced by the author.

I cannot get enough of these characters and the complications that are their lives. They become more human with each story this author tells, and become more reachable with each line she writes. This is no less the case with Flicka and Dieter. She has finally escaped the clutches of the Prince who would keep her locked away in his fortress to bear his heirs at whatever cost with the help of her bodyguard and ex-lover, mercenary Dieter Schwarz. But, getting to a place where she is able to divorce and be safe from the man who showed his true colors after they took their final vows is no easy task. Dieter uses every weapon in his arsenal to aid in her rescue because it is not only his duty to his best friend, her brother Wulf, but his feelings for her have never subsided.

This is the third book in the Runaway Princess series, and in this one we learn what brought these two unlikely allies together in the first place, how they met and what brought them to a place where she would marry someone else and he would walk away from the one who captured his heart. As this installment draws to a close, it leaves us in a precarious position of knowing there are secrets yet to be revealed and that those secrets could mean the end to more than just Flicka's freedom. They could put both of them in a danger for which neither of them is prepared.

These characters couldn't be more different and more alike. The author has knowledge of history and details of European government that would take the average American serious amounts of time to weed through. The important details of not just European government but the histories is the backbone to the reasoning for every step forward these characters take. She takes us on a wicked, steamy and frightening ride that leaves us out of breath, wishing it hadn't ended yet, and waiting in line, ready to get back on. I absolutely preordered the next volume in the series, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

    Sir Deiter!

I was sooooo happy when this pre-ordered book popped up for me just after midnight last night. I started reading it immediately & just finished it this morning! I just LOVE Blair Babylon's sexy, exciting & amazing books, I think I've read every one of them. So good!

Flicka was someone I wanted to get to know since 1st read about her in another book, especially since she was the elusive Wulfram's little sister. She had to be interesting, right? Deiter, stalwart bodyguard, was another character that seemed to have more to his story than met the eye. Them together, then not together...both seemingly brokenhearted from love lost, well, just give me more please!!! Deiter, the protector is just SO DARN HOT. He would do anything to save her from her abusive, betrayer of a husband, who's true colors came out in the last book. So when she makes her escape, she runs to him.

This book shows them on the run from Pierre, the loser husband who only wants to keep Flicka around to give him a legitimate heir (he has plenty of illegitimate ones)& so he doesn't lose the coveted title he gained from marrying her. There are so many people trying to capture her, kidnap her, whatever it takes to return her to her husband.

We also see hints of Deiter's mysterious past being revealed, juicy bit by bit. Flicka is smart & knows him well so she is also piecing together his past. He takes such risks to keep her safe & one of his choices toward the end of this installment is about to bite them both in their butts!

I CANNOT wait to see how this all works out in the next & I think last of the Flicka books in the Billionaires in Disguise series.

As I've said in a previous review, do yourself a HUGE literary favor, find out the reading order of BB's books. Read EVERY ONE even if it takes a long time & your house is covered in layers of dust afterwards! It will be so worth it.

    In Shining Armor- RECOMMEND!👸💕

So I just dropped my current read to dive into this book, Yes this has been eagerly awaited after finishing book 1 the reader was left with a massive plot twist that left you gasping…what will happen now.
I have started this review at the beginning.. I forgot my phone and I am literally clock watching to when I can go home to pick up where I left off (chapter 2) Chapter 1 (Frogy fairytale – actually while I am discussing chapter headings, I do love how Ms Babylon titles her chapters they intrigue and some make you laugh out loud, another author that does this well is Rick Riordan (Yep totally different genres, but very similar in the set up of titles for chapters) anyway, back to the chapter…well let me say that this #bedtimestory which is a hint of what will eventually be revealed was awesome. I wanted to carryon reading all night but my hubby stole my device and forced me to go to bed (I’ve been ill with a bad cough and not had any sleep for about 4 days so far and I looked like death warmed up, and yes he was right – I needed sleep, dam it!)
So I finished reading this installment of Flicka’s story and boy was I praying it's not long till the third part… Goodness I couldn’t put it down (my dinner break lasted as long as I could manage)
So because I do not want to give anything away I will just end with this…
Once upon a time, I found the author Blair Babylon, and she hooked me on every book she graces us with, Flickers story is turning out to be a top favourite for the year, she has always been a favourite character in the books that I have read before. I will recommend the book to all who listen, so Grab your copy now and get sucked into this fantastic fictional world of Royalty

*** This review is my honest opinion, I have not received any compensation for reviewing it, it's just my thoughts after reading and I hope you found my thoughts useful***

This is certainly (especially amongst fans) one hotly anticipated second book in the Billionaires In Disguise spin-off series, Runaway Princess.
As in the past and as this book began, I initially found it difficult to connect with Flicka as a character. By the time I had reached the 15-20% mark, Blair was turning my emotions on their head and I began to connect with Flicka. Was this due to her experiences with Pierre, of course but more importantly it was due to Flickas vulnerability as a fellow woman and the emotional content within the storyline.
Blair seamlessly blends In Shining Armour into the BID timeline as well as covering the history between Dieter and Flicka. This was a massive turning point for me, allowing me to truly fall under their spell as a couple. By Regrets and Recriminations my heart was breaking for Dieter. I often wondered why Dieter had stayed with Wulf for so long, knowing the Von Hanover's moved within the same social circles. As certain past characters began making appearances I was screaming "yes!" at my Kindle. (not mentioning names, you'll have to read it to get them)

Dieter or Raphael, a story within a story. Where will Blair take us next? Will Flicka ever be free of Pierre? Will they survive to have a future together? BUT AS ALWAYS...expect the unexpected in any book by Blair, In Shining Armour is by no means an exception!

Blair Babylon is the only author who has been able to keep me emotionally and mentally engaged in every character and storyline from the very first book in the Billionaires In Disguise Series, back in 2013. At times having to put my kindle down and breathe through the emotions and most importantly, stock up on chocolate! I have never pre-ordered a series so fast in my life. Book 3, In A Faraway Land cannot come fast enough.

  • Brenda S

And here we are left hanging again. I hate that the story of Flicka and Dieter is broken into small chunks and not immediately available, I'm just not a patient person and waiting a month between instalments is killing me.
Having said that, this piece of the story is important to understand the relationships between Flicka and Pierre and Dieter. We see that Pierre is an even bigger jerk than what we first thought in previous stories. He is a selfish arse who really only cares about the crown and not the lives of all the others he affects with his decisions/actions. After being abused by Pierre, Flicka flees to the one person she can always trust and thankfully Dieter is always ready to protect her. I really hope at some point Pierre gets what he truly deserves (not the crown and not death; he needs to suffer.. a lot).
A little bit of Dieter's past has now been revealed and we can only guess that his background will cause a lot more problems for the couple. I hope that Flicka forgives him soon and that they can work on forging a real relationship and work together to fight all their external enemies verses each other. As well, it will be interesting to see how the relationship between Wulf and Dieter will change as the various secrets are revealed. Hopefully these two remain tight.

In Shining Armor Book 2 of The Runaway Princess Bride part of the Billionaires in Disguise: Flicka series of books by Blair Babylon authoress extraordinaire.

I have read every one of Blair's books and I now anticipate biting off the rest of my fingernails with the final installment. Examples from Rae and Wulf's story, Lizzy's, and my previous and perhaps my still favorite, Alexandre/Xan/Alex and Georgie's. All had intense terrifying sit at the edge of your seat dramatic endings before the final HEA's. I suspect Flicka's/Dieter's will also have a hair-raising climax before we get our HEA. By-the-way, I think most of the reviewers have it wrong: Dieter is not the one in Shining Armor, Flicka is. In fact throughout these two first books she frequently refers to putting on her 'shining armor'. There is probably not a book that Blair will ever write that I will not read and love and then re-read several times. THANK YOU, Blair for finding a more aristocratic featured face for Alexandre, finally. The story describes him having blond hair, yet except for the first iteration of the novels, none have had blonde hair nor looked even remotely aristocratic. The pictures of Dieter are perfect! now to the story.
I rated this second book FIVE STARS! Would that I could give it more. You picked up this book right where the last book left off. Well-done. You thoroughly researched Swiss, French, Monaco, and the US laws concerning pre-nuptial agreements and marriage dissolutions, how closely the French work with Monaco. Lines of accession to the throne in Monaco versus Protestant countries. Other obscure laws concerning mercenaries were also included. The writing placed me right there within the action - somewhat harrowing, at times.

I will remember this second book best for filling in the long history of building romance between Dieter and Flicka. We find out a bit more of Dieter's past. Can't wait for the rest to come out in the conclusion (with a HEA, please). I know many are hoping that Dieter takes Pierre behind the woodshed, but I think that Wulf, being a prince could/should deal most effectively with Pierre.

Some of the more important issues and actions were: the reconnection between Dieter and Flicka, Flicka not having a passport and having to use Dieter's ex-wife's. See the steam coming out of Flicka's ears? Getting away from Pierre and his large contingent of henchmen. I doubt that we've seen the last of Pierre. The flashbacks that filled in so many details in Flicka's past, and Dieter's too. Dieter takes on more of a lover's role in this book.

If you want a book that will grab you from the first page to the last sigh, get this series! On to the conclusion. I hope I have any nails left to bite. I purchase my Blair Babylon stories. MUST SUPPORT THE AUTHORS I ADORE! 5 Stars all the way!

The quest to know it all in the life of the Runaway Princess Bride continues with her knight in shining armor. We get to know a lot more about Dieter in this book, which is wonderful. Because he's every bit the amazing warrior knight we knew him to be, and so much more. But with every tantalizingly sweet new nugget we learn about him comes a haunting skeleton from his past.

While the first book had an almost rom-com feel to it at times, this one has a slightly darker quality. But then, hey. We went from Princess marrying the most eligible bachelor Prince in the most spectacular wedding during book one to Princess running not only for her life, but cut off from the only family she has or her "storybook handsome Prince" husband will murder them as well. That's fairly dark...

But while this portion of the tale might not include as much humor, there is still plenty of sizzle as well as moments of joy. We learn about Dieter and Flicka's affair and their year together in London. Holy hot wings, my kindle nearly spontaneously combusted! Those two deserved an Emmy for acting normally in public when they were that smokin' behind closed doors! Dieter must have the absolute best poker face ever.

As with the previous book in this series, the reader will find sexy steam heat, adult language and adult situations. Sensitive readers may find possible triggers regarding rape and kidnapping. Mostly though, the reader will find an undeniably outstanding story of love, romance, trust, family, loyalty, protection, honor, and hope.

Shining Armor is the second Flicka's story in the Runaway Princess and the perfect follow-up to the first book. The storyline is totally engaging and addictive, with captivating characters. I was enthralled from the very start to the end, riveted by suspense, danger, intrigue, passion, and unexpected revelations. The premise was intriguing, Flicka, trying to get her life back while running from cheating Prince Pierre, who will not make it easy for her. Loved Dieter; he is an ideal hero, handsome, confident, loyal, intelligent, capable, and fiercely protective of Flicka.

All in all, this was a fantastic listen, dialogue, emotional struggles, the character's reactions to the situations, and their chemistry were wholly authentic. The narration was utterly superb; Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers embodied the characters, breathing life into them and the story. They are genuinely talented narrators with very appealing voices. I'm definitely recommending this audiobook; it was so worth the listen.

A Review of In Shining Armor: Runaway Billionaires - Flicka, Book 2 by Blair Babylon

    Flicka's story continues - 5+++++ Stars

I ABSO-freaking-LUTELY LOVE the cover for this book. I can't say enough about Blair Babylon and her writing style. I love everything I read by this author and I am totally engrossed in Flicka's story right now. There are sooooo many things I wish I could tell you, but I don't want to spoil it for others. But I am already looking forward to the next book in this story. I'm hoping to actually see more of Rae in that one. AND I love the fact that I think I know one of the deep secrets that Ms. Babylon has been keeping in regards to this story. This storyline holds a special place in my heart simply for the main situation that is dealt with and how it affects those involved. Make sure you pick this one up as soon as you can. It is definitely going on my top ten favorite books of this year.

Runaway Princess… Book two of five

The story picks up where book one left off as Dieter scrambles to make plans to get Flicka to Paris. I enjoyed his confrontation with Pierre the morning after Flicka fled. If looks could kill, Pierre would have been incinerated on the spot! We get some insightful backstory for both characters, bridging Flicka’s childhood and teenage years, along with the role Dieter played as her protector, friend and later their time together as lovers. Dieter’s mysterious past surfaces, setting off a chain reaction which will no doubt bring additional danger to his door. This is a well written, suspenseful story with well-defined and likeable characters. There’s plenty of sarcastic humour, drama, angst, subterfuge and mystery, along with several very steamy encounters. I’m enjoying this gripping tale and looking forward to the next adventure: ‘In A Faraway Land’.

Holy mackerel! Such action and suspense. I am waiting on pins and needles for the next one.

Flicka suffers at the hands of her husband and is on the run! She is amazing - she has put all her being into hiding and finding a way to get her divorce.

Deiter is beside himself that she was hurt by Pierre. I feel sorry for Pierre...should Deiter ever encounter him again. Dieter is keeping Flicka safe and doing all he can to get her to where she needs to be to get her divorce.

Throughout it all, Flick and Dieter are like they have not suffered away from each other for two years. They are so good for each other.

There is more action to come for sure! There are more and more people becoming embroiled in this story. Blair is an incredible author and I love reading her stories.
