M K Naik's scholarship of Indian English literature is immense and he has once again displayed it in this precise, to the point and very well-written book on Indian English poetry. His classification of chapters and analysis of the poets and their poetry have been superb in this book. However, like his book on Indian English literature in general, the book is short in length and it does leave out many issues - however, at the same time, the book has raises many issues that Bruce King's book has left out... so, the book is somewhere in between...
