  The Greatest Love Story Ever Told is not a book to read. You must listen to this one, trust me.
  
  I loved this book, and I loved listening to it, but I'm not sure if I'd enjoy reading it. It is literally an impromptu conversation between two blissfully married people, maybe with some rough guidelines of what to talk about, but it is all just off the cuff.
  
  I'm pretty obsessed with Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, both as people and as a couple, and this book only made me like them more. I'm, how should I put this... very, very attracted to smart people, especially people who use vocabulary correctly and read voraciously, so I found myself squealing out loud while listening to this book. Say "polymath" again, Nick Offerman, just whisper it in my ear.
  
  The audio was a joy to listen to, but, yeah, I didn't learn all that much about them as people that I didn't already know, but that was just fine with me. I didn't want to stop listening, which is all I could ask for in an audiobook.

  I’m sure I miss mentioning something.....but that’s it in a nutshell....
  It’s the nuts themselves that are awesome and amazing. Megan and Nick are both adorable, inspiring, smart, creative, and outlandish.
  
  Their love is expressed with pure gratitude and respect for one another.
  
  I thought they were both terrific human beings.
  I came away with a lot of respect for this lovable couple.

  Imma keep this one short and sweet.
  
  First off, if you are allergic to books of noise then you best remove this from your TBR right now because it only works in audio format. The whole charm of listening to a couple who has been together nearly two decades is that they talk over each other and finish each other’s sentences and interject and add color to what the other is discussing.
  
  I will also say if you are like me and #teamronswanson all the way, this might not end up being great for you either. Despite being a woman of a certain age who has been around for Will and Grace to be shoved in my face not once but twice, I have watched maybe two episodes. Maybe. Maybe only one. And I can’t remember anything about it. I appreciate the Karen character and have seen plenty of clips. It’s obvious Megan Mullally is funny, but the only way I know that firsthand is from when she guest starred on Parks and Rec. The Greatest Love Story Ever Told is Mullally heavy and I didn’t find her nearly as charming as she finds herself. The fact that Offerman is so willing to let her drive the train probably is what makes him the perfect husband. However, for an Offerman fan it leaves the narrative a little lacking. I think I’ll give his solo stuff a listen and see if that works better or if I’m simply a superfan of the fictional version and not of the real human himself. I know that’s the case with the couple together so they will forever remain Ron and Tammy . . . .

  Loved this silly, fun book! If you’re a fan of Parks and Rec or Will and Grace this worth the read. It was a lot of fun to learn more about these two wonderful people. I listened to the audiobook of this as well as read through parts of the physical book. I think the audiobook is the way to go with this one because of the book’s dialogue format and because you get a bonus chapter not included in the physical book. That being said, be sure to at least look through the photographs that are included in the physical book because they are certainly epic. Highly recommend!

  Confession time: I don't watch, and have never watched, Will & Grace or Parks and Rec. I'm not sure why, exactly, because I thought I liked Megan Mullally and I DO enjoy Amy Poehler. Anyway, I thought I'd give this audio book a go and it ended up being just okay.
  
  Someone who watches these shows or has a real fangirl thing going on for Nick Offerman and/or Megan M. might get more out of this book than I did. Megan and Nick talk about their pasts, how they met, their careers, how they manage to keep things fresh, and how they like to do jigsaw puzzles and listen to audiobooks while they do so.
  
  To be honest, this book reminded me why I don't read romances and why I love horror. These two are cute, but after only a little while, they became too cute for me and I would have loved to see them, (or in this case, hear them), die horrible and painful deaths. Well, not really, but they were just too....sappy. I don't like sappy.
  
  So there you have it. I thought this book was okay, but if you're a big Megan Mullally or Nick Offerman fan you're likely to get a lot more out of this too cute, sickeningly sweet book.

  This is my favorite celebrity couple. Not only are they funny as hell, they’re total bibliophiles.
  
  If you like audiobooks, I’d recommend listening vs. print (I’ve read both formats). It’s an oral history, so it’s literally #Mullally and #Offerman speaking dialogue, much of it delightful back-and-forth banter as they guide us through a brief history of their upbringings, relationships, and careers. Their narration is a real treat.
  
  Ideally, one should devour this on audio whilst piecing together their book cover puzzle (a B&N Exclusive). Full circle, my friends.

  I could coo about this couple all day long. Nick Offerman - amazing. Megan Mullally - amazing. Together - f**king incredible. I've loved them ever since Parks and Recreation and after reading this am obsessed with them even more. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to how they met and the work they have done together and the journey they have taken together. Both sweet and funny, a highly recommended read!

  I decided to listen to this book because of the funny, attractive cover, and the title, which I assumed, written and narrated by two comedians, would at least indicate the book would be somewhat snarkily ironic. And funnier than it turned out to be. Nope, not really so funny or edgy! It's sweet, written about their relationship (and probably improvised in the audio version a bit, so I recommend that way to experience it if you are planning to put it on your tbr list), but that wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. And full disclosure: I have not yet seen Nick Offernan in Parks and Recreation, but am crazy about Megan Mullaly's work as Karen from Will & Grace. I was looking for a little break from some more serious books, and picked this, hoping for something funny, but what I was not expecting was a love story, c'mon, that's not what comedians do!
  
  Nick has a nice voice and is kind of comically stuffy (he uses words like matriculate and provender and so on all the time), but the main contribution he makes here is that he is crazy in love with Megan, and says only nice things about her all the way through. I guess it fits the title, then, he'd defend himself here, but I say, you're a comedian, Nick, we came here for the laughs, not the cuddles. And he's dead serious in advice about how to find a partner--just do what you love and it will happen! And he's so appreciative of his completely norrmal rural family life from Minnoka, IL! Can I hear just one more earnest, lovely thing about yr Mum and Da who raised you right?! Nick and Megan let us know how the two of them make it work! Puzzles and tv and making sure they see each other as much as possible! Great! I'm happy for ya! But a little boring, I have to say. Readers Digest level insights, pleasantly delivered. Nice, but. . .
  
  To be fair, Megan is funny to listen to, way funnier than Nick, and worth listening to about her dysfunctional family, but she, too, makes it look easy and won't make fun of Nick as much as I want her to. And I just didn't want to hear about how happy they are now that they are rich and famous (I know, they try to downplay this, but still. . . the best parts here are the early pre-fame struggles that we can at least smile about).
  
  Because it is written and narrated in different cities as they are constantly on tour all the time, it feels fragmented and kind of random: Now let's talk about religion! About our age differences! Fashion! I thought it was a mild diversion, maybe worth hearing because of Megan, and they try to be midly crude from time to time, which could go either way, I know, but those were some of my favorite moments cuz i was hoping for more edgy. But it's nice! It's okay!

Their book is the story of their relationship--telling the story of how they met, from each's first impressions of one another and ranging across their courtship, wedding, work, and romance. The book covers such topics as family, past romances, religion, theater, and more.
  
  I love both Megan and Nick immensely, so I was extremely excited when I saw they had a book coming out. My library copy arrived a day after publication, so I hadn't even had a chance to read many reviews. I didn't realize that most of the book is in interview/oral history-type format, so when you read the actual book, it just flips between Megan and Nick chatting back and forth. This takes a little getting used to and while I'm not a big audiobook fan (personal preference, my brain wanders too much), I think this is one that would be *fantastic* in audio form. I'm stalking our public library, waiting for them to get an audio copy for my wife. There are a few chapters that are written out, and I enjoyed those a bit more.
  
  "To my way of thinking, it's an illustration of a relationship that the reader might find surprisingly normal. When all you have by which to judge a relationship are some grippingly cute Instagram videos, it might not occur to one that there's a lot of banal real life." ~Nick
  
  So mostly, this book is just Nick and Megan talking. Because it's Nick and Megan, it's still pretty darn enjoyable. They cover certain topics in various chapters, so it can get a bit repetitive in places (we learn multiple times that Nick's family is salt of the earth and Megan's was, well, not). Still, it's fascinating to learn how the two met, a bit about their various careers (not as much as I would have liked--there are no funny Will and Grace or Parks and Recs anecdotes here), and a lot about their pasts.
  
  The best part is that the book makes you smile--it's clearly apparent how much Nick and Megan love each other. I enjoyed learning more about both of them and how they spend their life together. Megan shares a fun Meryl Streep story, I loved her even more because apparently she's a hermit who loves to read (ME TOO MEGAN LET'S BE FRIENDS), and they are a couple who likes to hang out and do puzzles with their dogs. Life goals at its best.

  Overall, this is fun book about two fun and interesting people. If you're an audiobook fan--even a little bit--I bet you'd enjoy it more in that format. If you like Megan or Nick, you'll find something to enjoy in this one. If you're looking for a chronological history with lots of tidbits about their careers, this isn't that book. But if you want some insight into Megan and Nick as people, this is a worthwhile read. 3.5+ stars.

  Unfortunately, this book reads like the longest interview in People magazine EVER. Did someone just turn on a tape recorder, the two of them proceeded to periodically talk, and someone transcribed all the tapes? I don't even think they were necessarily "trying" to be funny - I suppose that they are probably just naturally pretty funny. It's too bad, but the formatting killed it for me.

  Was this around 6 hours of (mostly) pretty useless information? Well...yes, it was BUT:
  
  1) I like celebrity books as audio books because they are so relaxing and mostly entertaining. Since this book is written like a conversation, it often feels like you're sitting on the sofa with Nick and Megan while they tell you funny anecdotes about their lives.
  2) I liked listening to Nick Offerman and Megan Mulally because they are funny and they actually seem like decent people.
  3) They seem so in love, listening to them banter, giggle at each other's jokes, and reminisce about their life together warmed my heart.

  This book was not really much about anything. It was a random assortment of ideas, where both authors give their perspectives. It was a delightful back and forth between two love birds, but I didn't get a sense of the love. It felt more like a good publicity stunt than a great writing attempt. It's marketed as their love story, but it didn't really hit on what makes their love the greatest. It's about how they met, how they didn't bang right away and then about their successful careers. There's a two week rule in there, and well... I think that's it. I am a huge Offerman fan and couldn't pass this one up. However, I wish I did.

  Ron Swanson and Tammy Two (as I think of them) have a really great marriage. They are devoted to each other, and they are hilariously funny. This is a fun series of conversations between them mixed in with some short essays, about their childhoods, their thoughts on marriage, how they met, how they keep it fresh. Also their dogs. And jigsaw puzzles. If you like them, you'll like this. If you don't know who they are or that they are married, prolly not the book for you. Fun photographs throughout, including some of their finest post puzzle photoshoots.

  If you're reading this book in print, it would probably be best if you checked out the audiobook from the library so you can listen to it, as well. I feel you'll lose a lot if you just read this long transcription of an overblown interview that's not an interview. Listening to the two of them doing the narrating is definitely the way to go.
  I did check out the physical copy so I could look at the pictures. And the reading does not 100% follow the book. For instance, in the print copy, there's a a part about barking dogs after the first set of pictures but they don't read that part in the audiobook. However! The audiobook has a bonus chapter that the print edition does not.
  So just get both and follow along as they read to you.
  
  Overall, I like how much these two famousy people seem to really like each other. That's #goals right there. Mullally talks more than Offerman and that caused a problem in the image processing part of my brain because I only know Offerman from his books and his role in "Parks and Recreation" but in my memory, Mullally has been Karen, Tammy the evil librarian, and Linda's sister Gayle and those characters kept coming through in her voices. Mostly, it was Tammy but there was a lot of Karen, too, which is fine because those are both still Mullally but then every so often,
  this character started speaking and it was a little like getting whiplash. Especially when she said the word "Business"...as in Mr. Business.
  Maybe I should stop watching so much TV.
  
  But...I also started getting bored because while this would have been a fun interview on some show, it began to get repetitive as an audiobook and by the end, I can't say I know that much more about these two people who just talked to me about themselves for several hours, although, I do greatly appreciate that Mullally is a Carol Burnett fan and that she hates the term "My bad" as a faux apology and also does not like 69-ing. Me too on all counts, Megan. Me, Too! I am hugely disappointed that these two are voracious readers and audiobook listeners but don't seem to have active Goodreads accounts (as themselves. Maybe they're out there under other accounts?) so I can see what they've enjoyed reading because, really, that's what I cared most about in this book.
  
  My takeaway: This is cute and entertaining but possibly too long and repetitive. The pictures inside are fun, as is the cover. Should be actively listened-to as an audiobook while reading along with the print copy.

  A super fun audiobook. I was interested in this couple thanks to Parks & Recreation I.e. Tammy Two and Ron Swanson. I really liked listening to this, though I wish I could have seen the pictures in the one chapter devoted to them. But, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman described them hilariously. I think the audio version of this is the way to go because Nick and Megan make the book read so well. It's like listening to a podcast about their relationship. Lots of laughing and endearing tones.
  
  Their relationship is so awesome and honestly one I would aspire for. They love to read and do puzzles for god's sake! That is relationship GOALS. They listen to audiobooks together (super cute), they make each other laugh, and have dogs. Their "Love Story" is a beautiful one.

  First and foremost, I am a fan of both Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaly. I always thought they were a funny couple but they worked well together. This book just seals the fact that they are a great couple. It's a book written by them and told mostly through a transcription of them discussing certain topics about their life, apart and together. It does take a some pages to get used to but then you feel like you're part of one long intense interview.
  It's really apparent how much they love each other and that it's as if they were made for each other. It doesn't matter their age difference (over a decade) because they just work. It was a great insight to how each of them grew up, how they met, and how long it took them to get together. They do sometimes bounce around within the chapter because they get distracted (thus 4.5 stars and not 5) but it's really quite entertaining. They include pictures taken for the book as well as personal pictures from their childhood. I think my favorite was discovering their love of puzzles and them sharing pictures of puzzles they finished. They evolution of what they did in those pictures made me laugh. I enjoyed reading about their anecdotes and their history. I will say that you need to be fans of these two actors because they have a certain kind of humor that could be considered crass to a more conservative person. Then again, most people who read this book would be used to their sense of humor.

  So I feel like this was a waste of my time. And I think the problem is that I don't actual like comedian memoirs. But for some reason I keep reading them. I appreciate that they're read by their authors, but I guess I just think they'll be way more exciting than they are. And then this book was just a conversation between Nick and Megan, which worked as an audiobook (except Megan's giggle is super annoying), but I do not think it would work as an actual book.
  
  Also there was this weird chapter where they explained how they're not religious people, and suggested that Christians are the problem with current American politics, so that's an interesting view to me.
  
  Isn't it so annoying when you just spend so much time looking forward & wanting to like something, and then you just don't. People, please just don't let me read more celebrity memoirs. Save me from myself.

  3.5 stars. Nick and Megan are talking back and forth in an interview-flirt-ramble session. I think the audiobook of this would have been great, rather than dialogue prefaced with "N" or "M" for the respective speaker. I enjoyed their witty back and forth, in topics ranging from how they met, to dealing with autographs, to puzzles and dogs. The end of the book has some great photos of the large puzzles they do, and then try to recreate the scene in the puzzle. Good, not great, but I bet the audio would be great!

  Okay. This book was so freaking cute. This is definitely one that would be amazing to listen to on audiobook as well, because most of the chapters are a dialogue between Megan and Nick. But the layout and pictures in this were amazing, so I'm glad I read the physical book first. These two are so funny, but they also opened up about the not so fun moments in life and how they shaped them. And I love how they are ultimately just two introverts who want to stay home and read, listen to music and do puzzles. Same. I really want them to do another tour together. They just sound so fun.

  I’ve been a fan of Megan Mullally (mostly from Will & Grace) for years. I’m not as familiar with Nick Offerman because I didn’t watch Parks and Rec but I did see him in the second season of Fargo. Anyway, they are an interesting couple and this is an entertaining book filled with pictures and stories. It would probably be more fun to listen to but I’ve never gotten into audio books and picked this one up at the library.
  
  If you are a fan of either of them, this is the book for you!

  This was a fun audiobook! I loved hearing their chemistry and their story, even as just a minor fan of both (I think they are great but don't have an incredible interest in them).
  
  3 things about this audiobook (2 I loved, 1 I didn't).
  1. LOVED the conversational tone. It is just a normal couple having a conversation about their lives together and it felt so normal. I felt like they were telling me the story of their relationship over many cups of mediocre coffee.
  2. LOVED the humor. These two are hilarious! I cannot imagine being at a dinner with them or something, I would not be able to keep my cool. Their banter is unique and only possible after many years of being with one another. They're like the hip version of an old married couple.
  3. Didn't love the (very few and very far in between) references to their sex life. This is a personal thing for me, but I could've definitely gone without this.
  
  This book would be a perfect listen for a road trip with your significant other once you are burned out on listening to true crime podcasts that give you anxiety once the sun goes down and the winding roads start to look a little ominous. Absolutely recommend it.

  If you enjoy Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, this will be a fun listen. They are a funny couple. This is an autobiography of sorts of their relationship and marriage. As odd as they are, they are a pretty normal couple who obviously adore each other and have fun taking pictures, working puzzles, and singing. They discuss several topics from their family, dating, religion, sex, and puzzles. If you get the book version, whether a physical or e-reader version, you’ll get to see a bunch of fun pictures. In the audio version, they will describe the pictures for you in detail. I listened to the audio while following along on my Kindle.
