8 books into the series, we finally find out who killed Mackenzie's father and why. All I can say is, "Really? Hmm." I expected more. I do love Mackenzie. I mean, obviously I have stuck around for 8 books. I plan to finish the series. I just hope that there is a return to the previous pattern of the series.

I do wish they would get a clue about choosing a proper narrator for the audiobooks. I love a British accent, but Mack is from Nebraska. I was delighted to find that there was a new narrator this time around, but my hopes were dashed. This narrator is even more puzzling. I can't exactly peg the accent. Shades of Britain and Ireland, but certainly not Nebraska. She has an odd way of dragging out her vowels and speaking in a lilting, sing songy voice. She makes the word fact sound like
f#$%. I'm sure her voice is perfect for the bodice rippers and fantasy novels she typically narrates, but as a tough, young FBI agent, she falls flat.

I have guessed at the dates I read this. I read so many of them back to beck and never once thought about putting it on Goodreads. I read them when I go to bed.

I thought the books are great but I stopped saying the same thing about each book. I think anyone who likes murder mystery books will like all of Blake Pierce's books

3...FINALLY!!! The conclusion to Mac's dad's case!! Yet, the relationship drama was what held back the story this time around...well, and the narration, horrible! I really enjoy Mac, though...And this case did come together nicely. But still feels like tv drama...

This is the book we have been waiting for, where we find out who killed Mac's dad. I have to admit that I'm very underwhelmed after finding out who and why, it was so mundane.

As much as I like Mac and Ellington together I feel like they shouldn't work together. There have been times both of them got pissy over little stuff, that doesn't bode well for their relationship.

Mac's mom and sister are both a hot mess. I can see why she doesn't really talk to either of them. I do wonder if that will change now. I also wonder how much Mac will change now that she knows the truth. It will make the next book interesting in a different way.

Mackenzie finally gets a chance to look into her father's smarter a little bit closer. Of course, it helps that the Killer is now back active. I wasn't A big fan of everything lining up and neatly time together with a bow. Of course Mackenzie goes off on her own and manages to solve everything that left. Everyone else boggled. Curious to see where the author goes now that the mystery has been solved.

This is a fantastic series by an extremely talented author. I have read all of this series from #1 and am now reading #9. This one, #8, is especially fascinating and has some twists that will really surprise you. Highly recommend this series. If you start with #1 you won't be able to stop until you find ALL of the series.

These books are incredibly addictive and as you can see from my reading list, I am reading them at the rate of knots. I have been devouring this series and every other series this author has written. What I will note, is that the books seem to be getting shorter at the same price point and the editing leaves a lot to be desired. However, the stories just bring me back for more and more and more.

Are you kidding me. Finally the solving of "the case that made Mackenzie White", her father's murder, and this is the best the author could come up with?

I love listening to Blake pierce books when I drive too and from work, but the the reader changed and I am so upset because I now cannot even get into the book. I prefer Elaine Wise. :(
