This book surprised me. I don’t usually expect much from list based books but this wasn’t just a list; it included great examples and talked about great things happening in our world as well as things we need to improve. And the examples of activities were definitely kid-friendly and reminded the reader to check with an adult on some items.

I love this. Ideas range from recycling to volunteering to standing up to a bully. Lots of good ideas for caring for yourself and others.

Leave it to Lonely Planet Kids to produce this excellent title which packs a punch from the very first page. Beginning with ways to help at school (tutor, talk to a new kid) and covering environmental and self care, this is one-stop shopping for character-ed programs. Educators will use the ideas here and independent readers will love the list format with punchy graphics.

I liked the design, and it was very well written (though I was a little confused about the use of miles [instead of kilometers] but also crisps [instead of chips]—that is, was this meant for a US audience or an international [UK, Australian] audience?). In general, though, it was a great introduction for children to "small ways" that they can change the world.

I was surprised to at how many different ideas there were in the book. It did talk about alot of things. I like that it had a check list in the back.
