How could one wild quickie with a hot guy change everything so fast?

All Rae wanted was to open a clinic for autistic kids. To do a little good in this world. To help some kids who were trapped in darkness and fear.

But a statistics class tripped her up. She is losing her scholarship, which means that she’s leaving college to go back to her poverty-stricken hometown. It’s too late for grants. Too late for loans. No job exists that can pay for college tuition. She’s finished, and she has to go back to her family and their repressive beliefs that she thought she was better than she ought to be for trying to go to college, anyway.

She has three weeks of freedom left. Her friends tell her that there is a job that could help her, the place where they work, where she might be able to make enough cash for tuition because they do.

So they take her to an upscale party to meet the guy who runs it, and they tell her all about their boss: his cold, calculating gaze, how he can see through anyone, how no one even knows his real name, and how he might be a psychopath.

But Rae doesn’t meet their mysterious boss. She meets The Blond Hottie who tells her that his name is Wulf. He’s even taller than Rae, probably six feet-four, with a strong jaw and dark sapphire blue eyes, and an athlete’s build.

If you had three weeks of college freedom left before you went home to your fundamentalist family, what would you do?

Rae shoves The Blond Hottie up against a wall in dark bedroom, and then all Hell does break loose. How can one quickie change everything so fast?

Free is good. No one hates free. And no one hates Wulf von Hannover and Rae Stone, the unlikeliest couple to ever like each other. A lot of readers say that this is their favorite book of mine, which makes sense because there are so many twists, turns, and deep, abiding love in this book.

    1.5 stars

I hate to rate a freebie so low, but this was all over the place 🤯

(also, it's not really a freebie if it ends on a sort of cliffhanger that makes you buy the complimentary "epilogue" book, is it?)

Thoughts at random (because I really can't spend any more of my time on this):

💭 so the heroine is a 21-year-old American girl from a small town near the Mexico-US border, who basically grew up in some kind of ultra-christian cult thingy and somehow managed to get out of there to study in college

💭 oh, and her mission in life is to finish her psychology degree to open a clinic for children with autism so she can "change the world" and "break these poor children out of the chains of their minds" (almost direct quote) - and don't get me wrong, it's a serious topic, but the way this was thrown around at random times in the sole purpose of giving this girl depth...kinda gross, tbh

💭 and just to add on to that, this dream of hers is brought on because one of her little cousins is autistic and anytime Daniel (the cousin) is mentioned, we are told of his suffering, but do you know how many times Rae actually helps or even interacts with Daniel? zero, nada, zilch.

💭 because Rae flanks statistics class at her college, she will lose her scholarship...so her two friends bring her to their work party to get her an audition with "The Dom" (which, contrary to what our innocent little lamb of a heroine thinks, is not an abbreviation to "Dominic" 🙃😂)

💭 Rae has fun at the party, waltzes with a handsome blond stranger, has a deep, meaningful conversation with him (not) and then proceeds to drag him to one of the bedrooms and fuck him against the wall - which is the highlight of this book, tbh, it's all downhill from there

💭 long story short - handsome stranger aka The Dom aka our hero, who is the owner of the Devilhouse, a BDSM/sex club, offers Rae a job - she hesitates for 5 minutes because her christian-culty upbringing kicks in and it's SIN Y'ALL, but then she decides she needs money more

💭 not that she ever actually starts working there, because after Dom/our hero deems her a "natural-born Domme", she needs to have..ehm, "training" sessions with him to get her ready to do actual work; she does exactly one session with a real client and gets busted by one of her cult-christian cousins in the second one when the cousins turns out to be the client...and that's basically the end of all potential angst/exploration of her Domme alter-ego so...*snoozes*

💭 what we get next is some 50-shades level of BDSM between Rae and the Dom, only slightly better researched, I guess

💭 also, how the hell is she a "natural-born Domme" when she's dominated by...The Dom in like 95% of their interactions, pleaseee

💭 now, onto the Dom...who is he? Lemme tell you:

    - he's a "kinky"(thinks he is) playboy sex-club owner
    - he's a billionaire
    - he's hedge-fund manager/investment banker/mathematical genius with eidetic memory
    - he's secretly a German prince (prince of Hanover); but he's also Swiss...and also British?
    - he's military-trained sniper
    - he's a billionaire BUT a good one, because he uses his business savvy to LITERALLY prevent war, you guys don't understand! (I know I don't, lol)
    - he's a responsible father figure to his 9-years younger sister (again, you don't understand how hard it was! to bring up his sister as a single parent! since he was 15! and he was richer than 99% of the population with his own household and an army of servants to help him out...)
    - William and Harry are his cousins and he lived with them in London for a while, because, you know, he wasn't special enough with all of the above
    - oh, his actual name is Wulf!

💭 and THAT guy falls hopelessly in love with our Rae...who deems herself "redneck hick" or something, and actually acts like one most of the time, tbh

💭 when it comes to the plot...it's all over the place, same as characterization and everything else - we get rape attempt in chapter 1 (for which Rae gets subtly victim-blamed), then there's BDSM club stuff, then an assassination attempt here and there, death of a close relative, cousin trying to sell Rae to a drug cartel/human trafficking gang, Rae escaping them across the desert while Wulf, his paramilitary security team and his own superior sniper skills hunt after the said gang

then there's a royal wedding in Paris, one more assassination attempt...seriously, I didn't know that having a useless, honorary royal title was so dangerous! these poor royls have it HARD

💭 in between all of this there's some relationship angst between Wulf and Rae, because Wulf decides to leave US once Rae finds out his identity because "it's no longer safe" and basically he endangers Rae's life just by being near her...but then 5 seconds later he decides to be with her after all, because "he's the only once who can keep her safe"

💭 besides, Rae is not scared, guys! she can take care of herself! she's a born texan who can wield a gun since she was 3 years old and living in the town near Mexican border? It TAUGHT HER LIFE, like her family ranch was crawling with drug lords, crime and [insert more offensive stereotypes] so when Wulf expresses his concern, she's like "pfff, what's an assassination attempt or two compared to the life I've had"

    😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

there's some more senseless angst from Rae, but honestly...I don't even know where to start, I'm just gonna say that she changed her mind every other chapter, and it was annoying AF

Anyway...sorry for the chaotic review, I TRIED, but the gist of it is - it was bad, I didn't like it.

Not for anyone offended by the sex industry or domination

When Rae needs to raise money for finishing college her bfs introduce her to Wild, the Dom and she enters into a world of dominatrix.
Wildly insane thinking that college girls would do this I didn't like that it was nearly:180 pages of soft porn.
I'm not a prude but every paragraph on every page was about dominatrix behaviour or sex.
Perhaps this just wasn't the right book for me.
Lacking in character development and a defined story line.

5 Stars for the first half (a screw up against the wall) / 3 Stars for the second half (a taser gun to the nuts).

This was a great little find, and very enjoyable! I loved a lot of it, and then some of it fell just a little bit flat for me. I was glad all 9 episodes were in this package, which made the read seamless.

Rae (Reagan) is a 21 year old country girl, studying away from her bible-bashing family. She's under the watchful eye of her cousin and roommate, Hester, so must appear to be the good girl at all times. But she's a bit of a minx, and when her psychology scholarship is under threat due to her failing a class, she takes on work at a BDSM club with her friends called The Devilhouse. Of course, Rae doesn't know what the club is when she agrees to go along, but it soon becomes obvious! She's dazzled by the club's owner, the extremely elusive and evasive Wulf, and they begin an explosive working relationship. But things fall apart when word gets back to her family.....

I loved Wulf and Rae. Wulf was just prefection, and Rae had a good mix of naivety and street smarts (most of the time!). I thoroughly enjoyed Rae's induction to the world of BDSM, and as I don't read much about Dommes, I found it very interesting. The sex scenes were sooo hot and very plentiful.

Although she was sometimes indecisive throughout the story, I got it. She was basically brainwashed all her life by her extremist family, and was faced with many ultimatums from them, so no wonder she was confused. She was mostly strong and I enjoyed her psychological take on just about everything!

What I didn't enjoy was out the story completely branched away from the Devilhouse storyline. It was kind of non-existent throughout the second half, which was a pity. I get that Wulf was wealthy, etc., and that dynamic had to be explored, but the author took this part of the story to the extreme, and I didn't enjoy the whole theme (give me a self-made billionaire any day!). If it was left at that, it would've been somewhat OK, but the wedding - puke!!! And although the second half meandered, the ending wrapped up too quickly, with a 'reveal' most people could spot a mile away. But not Rae, apparently.

Anyway, Lizzy's series is next, which I'm looking forward to, and hopefully it will dip in and out with titbits about Wulf and Rae.

This was in the bundle - Red Hot Obsessions. The actual book is 651 pages. I learned as I got to - not the end of the book, but all that was in the bundle, that most bundles only accept so many pages per book. The GREAT thing is that the author added a link where the reader could get the rest of the book for free. This is really going above and beyond by the author.
Rae is a college student. Her scholarship was needed to pay for school and to get her out of her small town, suffocating, fundamentalist village. She planned to graduate, and start a clinic to help children with autism. But she is failing a class and will lose her funding. Classes start in 3 weeks and she can't get a grant or a loan in that time frame. She has lost her dream, and probably her freedom. 2 friends from her dorm tell her they earn plenty of money at a club and they will take her and introduce her if she is sure. They explain that they perform sexual favors; mostly blow jobs for pay. At the club she is strongly attracted to a man. Believing her life as she knows it is over, she goes into a bedroom with him and is very sexually aggressive as she backs him up to the door. Later she is invited back to the club and offered a job as a Dominatrix. Her lover from the club is the owner and he believes she can do the job. He undertakes her training. After a trip home on break where she is publicly shunned and then attacked, what can she do, but be a Dominatrix, continue her studies, and save her money for her dream clinic. She swears she will never go home again. She is popular at the club, but her boss finds he wants her more than he should. Can he keep business and pleasure separate where Rae is concerned? Rae needs her dream to keep her sane. Her shunning and attack by several of the young men of her village has shaken her more than she believed it would. Her cousin was her roommate at school. The cousin doesn't believe the attack was right, but she has to agree with the shunning and moves out. Her friends from the club and she are at totally different places in life, and where they work at the club. Rae is out of place everywhere but with her boss, but while she wants more from him, she is realistic and puts her efforts in her education and her dream clinic. How will it all end? Especially when she learns her boss is selling the club.

    Didn't finish

I got two thirds of the way but it was so long and I struggled to get that far.
I didn't like Rae. She came across too dumb and how wasn't she reacting with jealousy or something to Wulf liking being with women, plural! How could she not realise the books he bought her weren't just old and second hand but more likely rare or first editions. This didn't read like sweet, cute innocence to me. I'm guessing that must've been the authors intent. I found her annoying. She wouldn't be that innocent and that self assured in the bedroom to be a domme with him from first meeting him.
And he was secretive and not wanting anyone to know who he was. He was trying to hide and blend in to normality yet drive around with an SUV entourage.
Nope, sorry but not one for me.

  • E.G. Manetti

Written as a serial, the books have some issues with pacing and repetitiveness, along with the occasional typo. That said, it is a fun riff on Cinderella/FSoG, with a repressive family in place of mean stepmother and sisters. Part of what makes it work is the creative setting -- Wulf runs a a high-class, BDSM whorehouse and does not apologize. Rae is the expected mix of sexual innocence and sharp mind, but has a definite personality and doesn't spend much time wallowing in angst. 3.5 stars round to 4 because most of the sexy bits are hot, and Ms. Babylon unashamedly pushes the envelope with a billionaire prince.

  • Traslan

It is refreshing when an author knows her stuff regarding bdsm.
This book was a really nice surprise!
    I would change the title.

Well written with a made up story based on real history and fictious characters added to real ones, the research was thouroughly done and remarkably patched up into an imaginary world! This series starts in a contemporary, very sexy settings to pass by a highly conservative religious closed society and to finally end up in royal, europeean aristocracy grounds! Very creative, full of plots and twists you will never get bored! The sizzling chemistry between Rae and Wulf will also help in making you loose your breath!!! The struggle between them will make you want to scream as it does become a little frustrating towards the end, but the story is so good and they are so meltingly hot that you just go with the flow and smile! I loved it and will recommend it to contemporary romance readers and even historical romance ones!!! My only wish was that the end needed more or at least for me who is such a romantic, to have a litlle glimpse of after! And especially their reactions to the baby conundrum! Does that end means a sequel? I trully hope so as i will never tire to read about Rae and Wulf!!!

    REVIEW

I have enjoyed this box set and getting to know more about Wulf and Rae. Rae is a country girl who is going to college but is down on her luck when her scholarship is taken away. Her friends Georgie and Lizzy hook her up with the Doms place. When Rae first goes to the club, she doesn't meet the boss or does she? Rae is a dominant and she proves it by pushing a sexy blonde haired guy up against the wall and rocks his world.

When Rae finds out that, the Dom and her Wulf are one in the same everything changes for this couple. So many past secrets threaten to tear them apart. And one night of no protection may end it all.

Again I enjoyed every single story in this set and I would suggest this set so you get to know this couple.

I was gifted this book for my honest review.

I would give this 20 stars if I could !! Blair Babylon has a way of taking you on a roller coaster ride , that you want to get in again, and again. Over and over again ! Whenever I re-read these books of Blair ,'s , I feel as though these people that she has brought to life, are Actually a Part of mine .........I think that's the beauty of Blair Babylon 's stories, that she can take her own pen , ( or computer 😁) ,and say what U would say --- if you were to meet a Billionaire In Disguise, or a Rock Star in Disguise . .....In RAE's case , she just wants to live her dream , and after some roadblocks along the way ,( I have had Soo many of those, haven't you ?) She gets some help from her friends ( who are Beyond mere comic relief :) and this ,BLONDE HOTTIE steps into her life , and , not only enriches it, but he gives her something she has been searching for all along .....Acceptance. And Joy. And wonder of wonders -- love ! With a Whole lotta Lust thrown in !! A Whole lotta steamy, sexy ,gotta-have-it-now , rip my clothes off sexiness .....And who doesn't love that ??

Once I found Blair Babylon and her several series, I WAS HOOKED. I could hardly do another thing all evening except read her stories.

Rae and Wulfric, what a pair of lovers. The only thing I found a bit strange was that several of the couples are all near or over 6'!

Thrilling adventures, Hot frequent explicit sex, Romance, all the fairy tale romance a grownup girl could want, and a HEA.

Blair Babylon is my new favorite author... at least for this year.

BLAIR.... write MORE! Especially like Alexandre and Georgianna. My favorite of your series. I just bought my granddaughter a violin and all the trimmings for Christmas (we all play the piano and various other instruments)

Good storyline, but needs to be edited as it's missing words, and some words are out of order.

read this a while ago and decided to revisit it. i love wulf and rae together, but wasn’t sure what to rate this book because of how… all over the place(?) this was. it felt like the second half kind of strayed away from the original plot points

  • Kait

Wasn’t a fan of this.. which is surprising because I normally love books with BDSM. Probably should’ve marked DNF when I lost interest half way in.

Billionaires in Disguise: Rae is a stunningly brilliant and deeply passionate testament to the overwhelming power and beautiful vulnerability of finding love when you least expect it. There is something so amazing when love comes into your life like a uncontrollable whirlwind that steals your breath away and disintegrates the impenetrable walls surrounding your heart. Nothing and no one can stand in its way when its time has come. It may be an unwelcomed guest at times, but it soothes and seduces you with scorching heat, gentle touches, and all-consuming contentment. There is truly nothing quite like it.

Rae is in trouble. She is losing her precious college scholarship due to failing an impossibly hard statistics class. Her beautiful dreams of opening a clinic for autistic kids are crumbling around her. The only thing left for her to do is to go home and surrender to the hollow and lifeless future that is callously staring back at her. Everyone told her that she was nothing, and maybe they were right. However, her friends Georgie and Lizzy convince her that she has one last chance left to pursue her dream. What and who they introduce her to will literally change her life forever. What she needs now is the courage and the strength to move forward one step at a time. Will Rae be able to walk into an unknown and unfamiliar future, or will she let her fear send her back home resigned to her miserable fate?

I stared reading Blair’s books with Georgie’s story which I immediately feel in love with. Then, I recently read Lizzy’s which tore my heart to shreds while it swept me into a spectacular whirlwind romance. Now, I am finally reading Rae’s story, and I am left utterly speechless with a heart full of too many fantastic emotions to name or feel at once. Rae’s journey has captured my heart in a very different and very real way that will forever leave its awe-inspiring mark on me. The characters were truly incredible and totally unforgettable, and the emotions are so real, I swear they jump right off the page and sear themselves into your very soul. You can’t run away because your heart has a strong and unbreakable connection to this epic storyline. What an unbelievable rush!

Blair Babylon is an epicly phenomenal author! I know I have said this many times, but it is so completely and honestly true. There is nothing that this author can write that will not touch you in a major way. Her stories reach into your heart, your mind, and your soul, and they ingrain themselves so deeply that you do not walk away the same. These words will mold and reshape you in ways that you never imagined, and I hope that you will give this author’s books a chance. I guarantee you that you will walk away with a new appreciate for the extraordinary literary gifts that she pours from her heart and soul.

AWESOME! When I first started reading this book I thought it was going to be your regular BDSM book and I thought, what kind of spin could possibly be put on this kind of relationship. Don’t get me wrong, I am the first person to admit that I love a good submissive/dominant relationship. I think it’s hot but I was still waiting for a new refreshing spin on the BDSM novels, and this was it for me. So of course you still had the typical kind of damsel in distress and then that sexy as hell man coming to save her. Well the twist is something that you wouldn’t expect. These whole 9 episodes in this pack are about Rae, a college student determined to be different than her standard home town people. She wants to graduate from college and make a difference with helping autistic kids but her goals for her are fading because of a prick college professor and her grade she is earning statistics. Rae knows that he scholarship is fading and she needs to find a job to help her pay for school or she has to go back home to her controlling, non-understanding parents. She lives in a dorm with 4 people, one is her cousin who prays all the time, and two are friends that work at a BDSM club called Devilhouse. Rae’s entire life changes in one night and she wonders if she has the guts to work in a club like this but all she keeps thinking about is the autistic children and helping them. Her goal is to impress The Domme of the club and hopefully she gets offered a job. Rae has a bit of a dominatrix side to her which shows her authoritative and strong side especially when she has her mind set on something she wants. Wulf is the Dom/Owner of the Devilhouse and is sexy as hell and possibly has his eyes set on Rae but is it just his normal messing around with the girls at the club like he is known for. Wulf also has a secret, and when I mean secret, it’s a big secret. No, it’s nothing that you might be thinking, like he is married or he is gay. I mean huge, I was in complete shock when I found out. That is one of the things that I loved most about this novel, everything that I thought was completely wrong and it kept me intrigued the entire time. This book doesn’t have a cliffhanger but it does make you wonder about the characters a few years down the road. HHHMMMMM…… Well hello what are you waiting for go and order the series and read it. I applaud Blair Babylon and can’t want to read more of her work. Great Job!

  • Kathryn

I was going to give this a four star rating but the ending made me think that I hadn't downloaded the book correctly. Where was the HEA? I thought that it was a "Complete Series" (book). Apparently this author likes to write those serial cliffhangers which are a major pet peeve of mine. When an author does this to me I never buy the rest of their books, so I'm not going to "see" the final chapter in this couples relationship.
The book had a lot of dropped words and typos. I liked the general idea of the story and the way the author used history and possibly "real" characters but the relationship between the H & h just didn't feel like it could actually happen. I suppose that it's possible that a genius level person with an eidetic memory could fall in love with a fundamentalist Christian raised in a church that is almost a cult but I doubt it very much. The h acted more like a teenager than a 21 year old woman. She had led a very sheltered life in a little town on the US-Mexico border and the fact that she was going to college just didn't seem plausible at all. And the H, well he's an international man of mystery and could have found someone with a little more savvy that still didn't know his background story. I was going to recommend this to a few people but now I'm not. I'm giving it two stars because it was a nice long story and kept me engaged until the two "epilogues".

What’s better then a complete Omnibus?!?

This book is a combination of the entire Wulf and Rae story from beginning to end (it’s it really the end - I don’t think so). Rae is an innocent college student who is in danger of loosing her scholarship and therefore her freedom from her deeply religious family who believe that a woman’s place is in the home making babies and taking care of their husbands. Rae dreams of much more than that and was able to attend college to get her Pyschology degree so she can eventually help children like her cousin who has severe autism.

When Rae learns she is going to fail a class and that will result in her loosing her scholarship, her friends and roommates, Lizzy and Georgie, help her out by introducing her to their boss - The Dom.

The Dom runs a place called the Devilhouse - where you can do all sorts of things Rae’s family wouldn’t approve of her doing. She meets The Dom but doesn’t realize who he is and then both their worlds are turned upside down.

Youll be hooked after the first few chapters as this book takes you on an amazing adventure and as we realize who the man is behind the shiny shell named The Dom.

After you finish this amazing long and exciting book, go on to read Lizzy and Georgie’s stories as they are just as exciting!

  • Lori

Rae is your typical college girl. She's in that mode of partying, and self discovery. There is just one problem. She's failing Stats, and in turn, her scholarship. She just a few short weeks left before she has to return home to her super religious family. That is until her suite mates introduce her to the Dom.

I really, really liked this serial. The stories are interesting and fast paced. There is plenty to keep the story moving forward. The characters are likable, like, really, really likable.

Blair Babylon knows what she is doing. This is some of the best erotic romance I have read, hands down. It's got a little bit of everything, for everyone.

This is not just another BDSM millionaire erotica, there is a lot more to this series than that. But even if it were just that I don't think I would have minded because the story was so well written, infused with sex, humor and drama, that I would gladly read it over and over again.
If you love romantic erotica, then this is a serial for you. Each episode is short enough to read in an afternoon, but has enough meat to the story to leave you satisfied until you can pick it up again.

Fantastic read!!! At first book one started out kind of slow for me. I am so glad I kept reading because I absolutely loved it. When I saw it was a atory about BDSM I thought here goes another book thats going to be similar to what I have read. Boy was I wrong.

I really enjoyed the journey of this series. It is well written with unexpected twists and turns. I loved that this series was more about the relationship between the characters and not just about the SEX (although there was plenty of that and it was really good and very descriptive)
It's more than just erotica--it’s a love story where you least expect it and you find yourself rooting for them.
I would definitely recommend this series.

I loved this book but wanted more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was much longer than books I usually read but that was probably because it was originally released as a serial.

Rae and Wulf's story was full of twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat nearly the entire time. The story has a HFN (Happy For Now) but if I had one criticism of the book it would be that I wanted more of their story. After all of the details of their journey to the HEA/HFN I would have liked to have just a little bit more. I understand from things that I've read from the author that Rae and Wulf will make appearances in other books so I plan to read them. I'm interested in reading more about the secondary characters from this book anyway so it won't be a hardship to read those stories. :-)

This book was included in the Red Hot Obsessions anthology which I purchased.

I loved this book, so much so that I had trouble putting it down to do the everyday things that I should have been doing.
Rae is a girl who was bought up in a very strict, religious household. Taught to believe that she should not go to college to further her education. Even though her family are against it, Rae still goes to college with the dreams of being able to learn enough to help autistic children.
Her dream nearly falls apart when she loses her scholarship and she has no other way to pay for her education, that is until her friends Lizzy and George let her in on the secret of how they pay for their education.
Rae meets The Dom and gets a job at The Devilhouse as a Dominatrix, the only problem is that she knows nothing about being a Domme so The Dom takes her under his wing and teaches her the art of being a Dominatrix.
So begins the story of Rae and Wulf.

The Devilhouse Books: Rae, Episodes 1-9 Omnibus Edition

I started out with the first volume, which was free, and absolutely loved it. So, I went and got the full box set (with all 9 episodes) and started reading that. I loved that this series was more about the relationship between Rae and Wulf and not just all about the SEX (although there was plenty of that and it was really good)!

I am so looking forward to reading the new series about Lizzy and hope that we will see more of Rae and Wulf along the way. There are still so many things that are left undone for me, but I still give it 5 stars. It was AMAZING!

I liked this "episode" story. It was a little different with an interesting twist. It is well written with light BDSM, if you can really go that far. Some of the story was a little far fetched, but what story isn't. What makes a better than average romance (although alot of sex), is that the writer does such a good job with her writing style, her word choices, and giving enough background for most of the characters, that I wasn't sitting there going, seriously, are you kidding me, or some other similar thought. I liked the main characters and the supporting characters. I loved the fact that Rae was not beat down by her background or family, but had depth to her.
