Kindle Scout Winner Kelly Collins welcomes you back to Aspen Cove, the tiny Colorado town where fresh starts, hope, and true love live…

Katie Middleton knows what it’s like to stare death in the face. Growing up with a serious heart defect stopped her from really living. Now that she has a new heart, she’s determined not to miss out on anything wonderful ever again. Escaping her overprotective parents and opening a bakery in Aspen Cove, Katie starts crossing items off her bucket list as quickly as she can. The one item that she’s not sure she’ll ever check off however, is falling in love. That is until Bowie Bishop appears before her.

When a car accident took his high school sweetheart, Bowie Bishop was sure he’d never love again. He disappeared from Aspen Cove to join the Army (it’s army, yes? Not marines?), then spent nearly ten years in active combat risking his life to save others. Now that an injury has forced him to retire, he finds himself in the last place he wants to be—back home. He’s determined to take off as soon as he can, but when a cute, sassy little blonde catches his eye, he’s not so sure he’ll be able to leave Aspen Cove.

Just when Katie knows for sure that her heart will only ever beat for Bowie, she discovers a secret from her past that will shake the foundation of their new relationship to the core. Will the truth tear them apart or will they find salvation in each other’s arms?

    Favorite Quotes:

Sage liked her coffee laced with electricity, whereas Katie chose the heart-healthy option of decaffeinated.

She’d always considered herself a patient person, but her mom could try a saint on Sunday.

I’m okay. In fact, I’m finer than frog hair split seven ways.

Dalton’s no bad boy. He’s like Bambi with testosterone.

“I’ve been to war multiple times. I can’t imagine this is worse or different.” She wanted to tell him he was being silly, but his description was spot on. With seven kids to watch, there was no doubt there would be battles won and lost over the next three hours… Jill ran toward Bowie and threw herself into his arms. Big crocodile tears ran down her cheeks. “David tore off my Barbie’s head.” She lifted a decapitated doll to his face. Bowie’s lost expression told her this was worse than war.

    My Review:

I adore Kelly Collins’s sweet and steamy stories. Her writing is always a pleasurable read for me with a good balance of emotive storytelling, humor, steam, and insightful observations. One Hundred Heartbeats was written with my favorite dual POV with deeply endearing and lovable characters. The storylines were interesting, relevant, realistic, and artfully detailed for all the senses. I smiled, smirked, my through and sighed contentedly at the sweet HEA. I will be eagerly awaiting book three of this entertaining and heartwarming series.

When i read the blurp i am imagining a sweet slow pace story. In the background of tiny breezy town.

But i found the story is just meh. The characters are horrible. Bowen, is a lost man who pity himself of losing his sweetheart in car accident. He keep moping and show the world how pathetic he is. The heroine, Katie is a doormat. She has heart condition which limits her childhood. Now she is wanting her prince charming.

When Bowen told her he can not love her, she gives herself to him and willing to settle for less. Thats when i stop the audio book.

    2 stars.

    Cosy romance

I love Kelly Collins she writes absolutely Beautiful cosy romances
When Katie meets Bowie she's smitten but he can't allow himself to fall in love again. After his girlfriend died he hasn't been able to say goodbye. The best he can offer Katie is now and only temporarily.
This is a beautiful cosy romance and a quick read. It follows on as a sequel and it's especially nice to pick up in Aspen Cove with Katie Sage and Cannon.
    A warm hearted book with a he's.
Be warned there is spice but you can scroll as this book is definitely worth reading.
All the characters feel real and like your closest friends. I love how the author makes you feel part of their world.

I had started to fall in love with Katie in the previous book. And now we get to find out more about why she was one of the recipients of one of Bea’s bequests. Bowie started this book as a little bit of a mystery to us. We’d seen a much younger him through his brother’s eyes. Here, we get the opportunity to see the man that tragedy had shaped. The connection between Katie and Bowie is apparent from the very beginning. I loved watching the pair of them fall in love; learn how to let go of the pain, disappointments, and secrets of their pasts in order to build a future on their own terms. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

I am loving this series so far! As I write this, I've already started the third book. When I read the synopsis originally for the first book, I wasn't completely sure what I was getting. But the fact that this series revolves strongly around a small town reeled me in. I adore small town romances. There is so much more to this town. Aspen Cove's residents are amazing, secondary characters; some of them will have their own books which I can't wait to read. Can you tell I'm excited?

    Katie and Bowie.
Katie is new to Aspen Cove. Bowie has been gone for close to ten years, serving in the military. A terrible tragedy, which broke his heart, sent him running. His return is only temporary. While Aspen Cove is home, the town holds too many dark memories. A past he hasn't been able to let go of for nearly a decade. Katie has had a rough life growing up as a child who was mostly sick and as an adult smothered under the protectiveness of both her parents. One of the many aspects I admired about Katie was her determination. Due to her past, she decided to live in the present and go for the things she wanted. One of those things was a broken, disheartened ex-military soldier who found it difficult to fight off his attraction and the strong connection he had to Katie. I won't give any details away but I will tell you emotions run high. And the second half of the book brings a good amount of angst. There are some secrets to be revealed and you'll be on the edge of your seat waiting for that moment, and the result of what that brings.

So, while Katie and Bowie have many hurdles to jump; their love for each other is strong. This book has an amazing happily-ever-after! I recommend you try out this series. It has all the feels, amazing secondary characters, plenty of steam, and the writing talent to engage and endear you to every page.

This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. :)

Another Fabulous Romance in Aspen Cove! A Great Audible Listen🎧

    One Hundred Heartbeats
An Aspen Cove Romance, Book 2
    By: Kelly Collins
    Narrated by: Logan McAllister

It is great to be back in Aspen Cove for another fabulous story in Kelly Collins’ series. I loved the first book, which was Sage and Cannon’s story. We met Katie Middleton in their story, both she and Sage were newcomers to town, they met on their first day there and bonded. Both were left property by Bea, Sage inherited Bea’s Inn and Katie her bakery. The inheritance was a mystery to Katie but she does learn the connection. Bea was a mastermind and her plan to put life back in to the town she loved is falling in to place. Katie took advantage of her inheritance to start a new life for herself, after learning her circumstances you can not help but admire her strength, bravery and determination to succeed. Bowie is Cannon’s brother, after a heartbreak and devastating loss it was too painful for him to stay in Aspen Cove. He joined the Army and stayed away for 10 years, only to return after an injury cuts his career short. He and Katie clicked right away, he was upfront with her, letting her know he was a broken person unable and can not commit to a relationship or fall in love ever again. Bowie needed to let go of his past and allow someone in, someone who could help mend his broken heart. I thought these two were perfect for each other. I love how their story played out, there was drama, a bit of angst, some mystery, some fun moments and loving ones as well. It was great to learn why Bea chose her, it was a nice twist. Kelly Collins, thank you for another great story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Logan Mcallister continues to bring these characters and their stories to life. He is a terrific narrator and voice performer, he gives each character their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. You can hear the emotions of the character and the drama of the story in his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

We first met Katie Middleton in One Hundred Reasons. We also heard about Bowie Bishop and his loss when his fiancee and mom died in a car accident. He then left Aspen Cove to serve as a Ranger.

When Katie & Bowie meet Aspen Cove will never be the same. It was a pleasure to hear their story. Logan McAllister did a fantastic job bringing these two very strong people to life.

I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.

    A sweet read

As a transplant recipient myself, I feel Kelly Collins capture d the protagonist's desire for normality very well and provided a more unusual storyline for a love story. A nice, gentle read.

  • Christine Frieseke-Miller

Katie and Bowie were both characters in the first book that intrigued me. I knew that their story was going to pull at my heartstrings. Ms. Collins does such a great job painting the emotions that both of these characters are going through. My heart broke for both of them as they discover the one thing that could tear them apart. I loved watching Bowie learn to live again. Katie was a breath of fresh air and truly lived each day to the fullest with her new leash on life. Ms. Collins has painted a small town where the characters are so real with flaws just like the rest of us. The story is real and heartfelt and it was a good read.

Katie Middleton has received the deed to a bakery in Aspen Cove, Colorado and although she is not really a baker she looks forward to living on her own and trying to get by on her own. She has been sheltered all of her life due to being sick and now she craves freedom and a chance to truly live.

Bowie Bishop is a former Ranger who was injured while serving in Afghanistan. He left Aspen Cove after the death of his fiance, Brandy, and his mother but knows he needs to come home and help his father and brother out. He believes that he is not capable of loving again and is afraid to enter into another relationship as he can't go through the loss again.

When Katie and Bowie meet sparks fly and both are attracted to the other but the two have different versions of living. Katie wants to be able to accomplish the little things before it's too late and Bowie believes he is too broken to live his life.

Will Katie be able to convince Bowie that he deserves a chance to live life to the fullest?

This was such a great book on overcoming loss to live life but there are varying degrees to which you believe you should.

Katie had been sheltered due to getting sick and she wanted to live her life to the fullest and take advantage of every moment she came across. She knew the value of life and she didn't want to waste it or have any regrets.

Bowie suffered a huge loss with the death of Brandy and his mom and he believed that he was broken because of it and didn't deserve to love anyone else. He was waiting for life to pass him by and he wasn't interested in truly living or loving again.

Katie showed Bowie how to live again and part of me wondered if there would be some links between everything. I wasn't surprised but I was definitely worried about what was going to happen with everyone! The ending was definitely scary for me as I was freaking about what could happen to Katie!

Such a great story and I look forward to more from the author!

This book follows on from One Hundred Reasons, continuing the Aspen Cove series with Bea’s bequests and letters written on pink paper. Katie inherits a bakery but has no idea who Bea is or why she has been chosen. She just knows that the gift of the bakery has been her salvation and her ticket to independence. For the first time in many years she is free to live life on her own terms without the fearful, hovering presence of her mother. Katie has a bucket list but unlike most people, her list is made up of wishes that most people take for granted, including falling in love. When Bowie rolls into town on his Harley after leaving the combat zone, she finds in him a kindred spirit. Both of them have their scars and both feel out of place in a huge crowd of people. When the reason for Bea’s bequest to Katie becomes apparent, the ground beneath their relationship shifts and they are both left feeling shaken and unsettled. It takes the wise and caring community to bring them to their senses. This book is a well written romance, with humour, deep emotions and laugh out loud moments. I also shed some tears. Katie is a survivor and she faces life head on, whilst Bowie finds healing and restoration in returning home. A delightful romance that left me feeling warm and content. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

  • Joyce Martinez

Wow just wow! I loved the first book but this one captured my heart. Bowie felt so much pain and closed off his heart. I was intrigued in book one how Katie played a role on Bea’s pink envelopes. I hope what I thought was the connection was and it so glad that my wish was fulfilled. One heart and two loves is what makes this book a five star read for me. Her wishing wall has inspired me to put one up at work. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

I have finished reading One Hundred Heartbeats twice and so far it is my favorite Aspen Cove book by Kelly Collins. This story revolves around Katie Middleton. Bea left Katie her bakery and Katie has lived a very sheltered life and was overjoyed to try this adventure. She is the type of person that looks at life positively, a glass half full person. Bowie Bishop is returning to Aspen Cove and he's not happy about it. The town holds so many sad memories for him that he just doesn't know how to bear returning home. One Hundred Heartbeats stands alone, however I highly recommend reading One Hundred Reasons first because the characters appear throughout both books in this series and as a reader you may become confused as to what everyone's relationship is to each other. I am not going to give away the plot of this book other that to tell you that it's about living life to it's fullest and having a second chance at love. If you are a fan of Susan Mallery, Catherine Bybee or RaeAnne Thayne, you are going to love the Aspen Cove series! I am a reader that is a sucker for a HEA and One Hundred Heartbeats has moments of fun, angst, lust and love. I cannot recommend this enough. I received a review copy and this is my freely given, honest opinion.

Another fabulous, heart-warming story in the Aspen Cove Series. Aspen Cove is the perfect small town: it has wonderful people, beautiful scenery, quite a few amenities, and isn't far from a bigger city. Country living with big city convenience.

Katie needed a place away from her smothering parents and Bea provided her with the perfect opportunity. It took a lot of courage to leave Texas and move to Aspen Cove. Bowie needed someone to challenge him, to prove life is still worth living. Katie gave him a reason to share his heart again. Their road was rocky, with some twists and turns, and I rooted for them to find their HEA. They both deserved happiness.

Aspen Cove is chock full of interesting, quirky, realistic characters that I can't wait to get to know better. I am really looking forward to meeting more residents as the series unfolds.

If you are looking for a well-written story with developed characters; with heart and soul; a real page-turner; then I suggest you read One Hundred Heartbeats. This story is a standalone but you will get more enjoyment if you read One Hundred Reasons first. The first story introduces the reader to so many aspects of Aspen Cove. Knowing these things will make the second book more meaningful.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and here is my honest review.

Another wonderful story by Kelly Collins, I have loved every one of her books and have read quite a few.

Katie and Bowie are two people with pasts they want to leave behind. Katie was sick as a young girl and needed a new heart, she wanted to get away from her parents who wouldn't leave her side. She is left a bakery from someone she doesn't know, so she "runs"away from home to start a new life. Bowie grew up in Aspen Cove where the bakery is and fell in love, unfortunately his fiancee was killed in a car crash, he then joined the Rangers but was given leave after he had been injured too many times.
Bowie doesn't want to go back to his home town but visits his family, Katie doesn't want her family to know where she is and wants to stay. When she meets Bowie at his welcome home dinner she has other pans for him, and would like to try and persuade him to stay.
Whilst there backgrounds are very different, there is a surprising twist to the story that makes them more linked that they thought.
Without giving any spoilers away, this a wonderful love story and I can only encourage anyone who loves Kelly's books or if you are looking for a new author to read then look no further.

  • Juliana Ignácio

Kelly Collins is one of my favorite authors, and her stories never disappoint.
In this second book in the Aspen Cove series, we have the story of Katie and Bowie.
Katie had already appeared in the first book in the series, and her going to Aspen Cove was a mystery as to why Bea chose her as the owner of the bakery.
After suffering the loss of his great love and his mother in the same accident, Bowie joins the army and leaves Aspen Cove. But when he was hurt and returns to his city, will he be able to move on despite all the good and bad memories the city gives him?
When Katie and Bowie meet, the attraction between them is almost instantaneous, but both are afraid to open their hearts.
When secrets are revealed, will they be able to overcome and move on?
This story is wonderful and the characters are fantastic! I loved to see the other characters, like Ben, Cannon and Sage.
I'm anxious for the next book in this series, which has already become one of my favorites.
    I highly recommend the reading.

  • Ann-Maree Howarth

This is another great book by one of my favorite authors that I just could not put down. This is book 2 of the Series of “Aspen Cove” it is a stand-alone but I would recommend reading them in order as there is so much to learn and fall in love with each character of this sweet town you won't want to miss anything along the way. This story had so much depth to it, the layers just kept bring you more enjoyment and entertainment while you fall in love even more with the characters and the town. I received an ARC copy of this book and have voluntarily written an honest review. This series gets even better with each book as you start to feel part of the community of Aspen Cove and the need to learn more fill you with anticipation for the next book.

DNF. what a miserable book and what shallow characters they were. This read like a YA book to me with the heroine acting and talking like a 15 year old. Her actions toward her parents sounded like a 15 year old too as did her "flirtatiousness". The bakery she inherited felt like an afterthought. Or a stage prop. Or something. And focus on her silly silly bucket list made me want to throw my kindle across the room, but I settled for not finishing the book. The sitting on a lap behind a steering wheel on a bench seat had me scratching my head too. Do trucks even have bench seats as an option anymore? And they must both be really skinny to fit behind a steering wheel. I think the book was supposed to show all kinds of damaged people thriving by the end, but they just sounded like whiners.

    One Hundred Heartbeats

Given another chance at life, donor heart, Katie was given a gift of a bakery in Colo. She is unknown to as why she was blessed with this, but feels it is a gift none- the- less. New start, new beginnings, new friends, just what she needs. Bowie is back, after being wounded in the service, and having left Aspen Cove years earlier, due to losing the love of his life. He as well is trying to start over, just no idea where to begin. Great story, amazing! Loved it❤️

  • Chanel

3.25 Stars. This story would make a perfect Hallmark movie. It was overly sweet with just enough emotion for a tear or two. The trouble was the romantic plot was too predictable, just like those made for TV movies.
The main characters were complete opposites— the bad boy Harley riding Ranger meets the rich southern Beauty Queen. (Though, Bowie wasn’t much of a “bad boy”.) Sparks flew between Bowie and Katie. I enjoyed the rom-com aspects of their relationship. My rating reflects the couple inconsistencies I found in the storyline.

  • Shari Tomlinson

Great follow up to an amazing series

Another great read. I love all of the characters of Aspen Cove. Bowie returns home after years serving in the Army, still heartbroken, he meets Katie. Katie left Dallas for Aspen Cove to finally live her own life. The little twists and surprises made this an exceptional read for me. I would love to give more than 5 stars. I am looking forward to more on this series.
