Weird Tales January 1925 Reviews

Easily the best issue yet of Weird Tales, with a line-up that points to the great years ahead. Lovecraft, Seabury Quinn, Arthur Burks, Graye La Spina, and an early work by Frank Belknap Long, "The Ocean Leech,"that drips and spurts with psychosexual frenzy. Interesting editorial by Farnsworth Wright too that tries to define the magazine's philosophy, essentially weird but "clean" and not too grisly, though a couple of the tales here probably cross any line of good taste. One can see in this issue, not only the shape of what Weird Tales is becoming but the boundaries forming around a genre. For the first time since I started this project, I can hardly wait to see what next issue brings.
