Mesa Duvall is the youngest of the Duvall brothers and runs a successful underground club for vampires and other creatures of the underworld. His family knew him as the one that followed all the rules. However, Mesa is breaking one major one that could get him killed.
Zontae Duvall is the most feared demon in the Underworld and next in line to rule. He helps run the family’s legal businesses, but his main business is slinging blood and other serums to the vampires and demons in the Underworld. His urge to suck the soul out of your body, or something even worse, is usually controlled by a serum. But something is changing, and his dark urges may no longer be under control.
Selene and Samara Kenney are cousins but were more like sisters to each other. Their home life is dangerous, thanks to Selene’s mom. After escaping their home, the girls are on a mission to find answers to Samara’s mysterious past and her parents’ deaths. Enter the Duvall brothers who turn their world upside down. Will these four be able to deal with the challenges, danger, and dark secrets revealed? Or will it tear them apart? When the Kenney girls meet the Duvall brothers, nothing will ever be the same, and their lives will change forever.

Whew! This read was everything! Suspenseful, drama, and pure dopeness. I love Zontae, Mesa, Selene, & Samara. I knew Jazz & Jade were going to be trifling and up to no good. I can't wait until they get handled. I knew the mother was deceitful but to betray your own sons is downright cold-blooded. Luke Harper is a nutcase and forced his sons into his madness. I am loving Nichelle and that ending solidified it. On to part 2!!

I am one of those quirky readers that love, love, a multitude of genres and 2 of my favorites are meshed together in this beautiful creation!! When the 2 main male characters were introduced in the original series, D-City Chronicles I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were special and definitely deserved their own spin-off. Zontae personifies every attribute of an alpha male. He is the strongest and the most powerful demon/vampire in the underworld. He quite literally possesses the power to suck the very life-force out of someone and yet he controls his darker urges by utilizing a serum keeping what some others of his kind consider to be beneath them safe from harm. Zontae captured me from the beginning not only did he have every physical strength and appealing characteristic that a woman looks for, his heart as much he tried to hide it was made of pure gold. Nothing made this more evident than his initial encounter with his destined mate, Samara. He felt her fear and recognized that she was unaware of all of the other elements that existed outside of the human realm. While their sexual attraction towards one another was off the charts, he recognized the need to truly get to know the woman that he was destined to be with forever. He didn't allow the prejudices of his mother or the evil from his soon-to-be ex to color or change his opinion about the hidden jewel that he found in Samara. Mesa, his brother found himself in an untenable situation much like his older brother. While Zontae attempted to make the most of the situation that he found himself in prior to meeting Samara, Mesa had absolutely no bones about letting his intended know that she was used goods and nothing that he remotely found appealing. He was basically going along with his mother's wishes but was absolutely disgusted with her choice in a mate for him. What he was unaware of was that Samara's cousin, Selene was his true mate and that he unknowingly started the mating process with her. When you see Selena and Mesa come together you recognize that in them is a great love that will grow and become the envy of everyone they encounter. The girls find themselves in a very difficult situation but when they come into contact with Zontae and Mesa you know that things are about to be all good for the 4 of them. This book is one that I've read twice already and I know that I will be cracking it open again. Every time I re-read this one I find some new tidbit of information that I missed before. Whether it was a smart-alec comment from Mesa, a certain look from Zontae, a powerful emotion from Selene or a bewildered expression from Samara I knew each time just like the layers of your favorite chocolate cake each tidbit was going to make the story better and better. Now as I stated before I'm an AVID paranormal fan. What I have not found in this genre very often are writers who possess the ability to merge the elements of an urban story and the elements of paranormal and seamlessly create a tale that will have the reader mesmerized from beginning to end. Ms. Jackson did just that. She created this other world and took the time to explain, reveal, and pull us all in one new discovery at a time. I love love loved it!!! Ms. Jackson is a reader's dream. She possesses the ability to both satisfy our literary hunger and yet leave us starving and thirsting for more. I harassed and basically turned into a first-degree stalker about this book. It is refreshing to read something that you've eagerly anticipated and know that at the end of it all you will want more and more. Kudos Ms. Jackson. I can't wait to read what you have for us next but what I do know that whatever it is it will be quickly downloaded on my kindle for me to immerse myself into your world of wonderful characters once again!!!

It seems that both of my sons must be enchanted by some type of spell these bitches have placed on them! Jazz and Jade have served the Underworld for years with their loyalty and grace. Even with being mistreated by my sons, they donated the refreshments for the ceremony tonight; free B-Packs for everyone. Now, the waitresses passed them out a minute ago, so go ahead and pop one for these beautiful ladies on stage,” Queen Esha announced. Mesa looked over at me and said, “I thought you said someone took all the B-Packs. How did Jazz and Jade get that many of them anyways unless...” -
Ahhhhh-amazing
I've never read an urban vampire story but I was familiar with D_City Chronicles and couldn't wait to sink my claws into this tale. This book was everything. I enjoyed Mesa, and Lord knows Zontae but when Salema and Samara got powers and then a shift in the underworld, Lord I could put this book down. These girls have a rare bloodline and I'm not sure the underworld is ready. I know it's a supernatural thriller but this read like a banging urban fiction. That ending had tossing my kindle and wanting more. I just didn't want this book to end. -

My heart was beating out of chest reading this. These paranormal books are giving me life. Ms Jackson u wrote the heck out of this book. Zontae and Mesa are both book baes. Serenity and Samara are Phoenix. I love tge story behind Phoenix. This trio is going to cause havoc on all guilty parties. Their mother is fraud and cant wait til she gets whats coming to her. Luke and his daughters need to die a horrible death. Zae is going to find a way to fix everything hopefully. Please dont make us wait long for part2 -
what a way to begin a series
This is how you begin a series! Started off with murder and a mystery then a whole hidden Underworld with royals and the way they make money. Then the villains are brought in and the way they are moving is real shady. Matings and coronations. An unexplained death and sabotage. Powers that were dormant are now awakening. Betrayals at the deepest level. Revelations and those rising from the ashes.
This book is packed with so much and it’s so good! Long live the king!

It's about to go down
Samara and Selene are about to give Jazz, Jade and queen Esha a run for their money. Queen Esha is on some other stuff for real for doing what she did to her sons. Zontae and Mesa have met their matches in Samara and Selene. Part 2 is going to be crazy with the way part 1 ended. Paranormal isn't usually my go to genre, but I'll be on the look out for the next 1. -
Who gonna rule the UnderWorld
Wowser.......now this was a great book and can't wait to read the rest of this series!!!! I LOVE both brothers and how the protect each other as well as the girls. Can't wait till the girls come into their full power and is able to control their Phoenix!! Also need to find out if Dane and Devin survived and what's gonna happen to Queen Esha, Luke, Jade, and Jazz!!! Need book 2 ASAP!!! -

This author never disappoints! She is a newer published author on the scene her first series had me drooling bit this book is on a whole other level.
Paranormal is my favorite genre and I was scared to read it at first because it's her first novel in this genre. If she stops writing paranormal I'm going to stalk her as this book was superb. She has quickly solidified her spot on my favorites list her work gets better and better. -

This was my first read from this author and I was not disappointed! I love paranormal but I don’t like vampire paranormal lol BUT this completely changed my mind. The story just flowed and I love all the main characters even Zoom so I hope he makes it. I loved the comedy as well. This book had me from the very first page and I can’t wait till part 2!! Zontae got that d!ck that would make you need a wheelchair for 2 weeks! Mesa is funny AF taking bout old girl on Uncle Fester lab table 😂😂😂 that killed me. This book was amazing. I didn’t want it to end. I knew I was gonna love Mesa and Zontae, but maannnn now I’m in love with both of them. Selene and Samara are perfect for them. I can’t believe the lies and betrayal that took place. That ending was bananas!!! I need part 2 like I need air!! -
Moth to a flame
I used to read paranormal books all the time. Then I stopped. This book has just revived my love. This book was sensational. It was not only modern but filled with, treachery, jealousy, betrayal, & love. I was glued to the pages. I was drawn in like a moth to a flame. That ending was out of this world. I can barely wait for part 2 -
Zontae is Bae!!
I found my book bae for the new year lol!! This is a page turner! I couldn’t put it down....I read it in one sitting. Background of the book and the history that is given pull you in, if not keep reading and Zontae’s eyes will!! I can’t wait for the second installment!! I need that ASAP!! -

EFFIN AMAZING!!
I normally don’t read this type of book but BABY!! This book had me hooked from beginning to end. I could not put it down. The ending has my head spinning wanting more. I can’t believe Queen Esha but I knew she was vindictive. I want to know what happened to Devin, Dane & Ruby. I can’t wait to read part 2. -

Omg...I can't wait for part 2. I can't wait to see what's in store for the D-city Underworld crew. I'm happy that Zontae and Mesa were able to find out who were the snakes in theor camp. Also intrigued to see how they react when they find out about their mate's bloodline. -

Okay so I’m ready for book 2! I’m usually hesitant when it comes to paranormals bc not everyone can write them but Annitia did a great job. This is my first read by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. Zontae is baeee 😍😍. I had s feeling the mom, Jade, and Jazz were snakes and that they were connected to the Harpers smh. I’m so ready for part two!! -

This book was good even tho it seemed a bit rushed...I knew Jade and Jazz were some grimy chicks and Queen Esha being the mastermind of it all. I enjoyed the book because it was a page turner but I feel like something is missing from the backstory of Lene and Mara I hope the next book answers all my questions -

Mesa and Zoom are FUNNY as HELL😂 I don’t wanna ruin it for those who haven’t read it but let me tell you this, this shows you it’s always the ones you least expect . That wicked Queen witch !😡 -

The story is the dumb from being to end.i hope all things work out the the bothers, it sad there mom is wack and twisted, I love the girls that cousins from them because they were in some terrible trouble dealing wit those others dudes. I can't wait to see what happens in book two. -
The Underworld
I have never been into the paranormal genre of books but you have changed that for me .The story was captivating, mesmerizing with hood what a mixture. Vampire and incubus sec can I get two cases of that whew off the chain. I am now a fan of this genre of books thanks to you. As with all of your books I am truly a #1 fan
