He makes dirty sound so good. So right.

The moment I heard his velvety voice growl that I’m his ‘Kitty Kat’, I knew I was in trouble.

Derrick ‘The Love Whisperer’ King gives out relationship and sex advice on the radio to everyone, but he’s giving me something a bit more personal. Nobody’s ever talked to me the way he does. Daring, Demanding, Sexy… and oh, so Dirty.

Maybe we started this whole thing a little backward, sex first and getting to know each other after. But I'm starting to let my guard down, my untrusting heart beginning to think that maybe fairy tales do come true. Even for me.

I feel beautiful and hopeful when he worships my body. I feel dirty and naughty when he whispers filthy things in my ear.

But is it real? Can something so naughty really be good for me?

And more importantly, against all odds, can it last… forever?

Dirty Talk is a full-length Romance with a happy ever after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger!

Dirty Talk (Get Dirty, #1) Reviews

While I was reading this book, I was keep wondering why there are not many (any?) romance books about radio DJs. I am sure that there are plenty of women in the world that have fallen in love with a voice without ever seeing the face of the guy.
    I know I have...
When I was a teenager I have fallen in love with a couple of voices from a couple of love radio stations that used to broadcast cheesy love songs. The cheesier the love songs the better. And the cornier the words between songs, the better. I was a goner straight away - especially if the producer had a sexy deep voice.
(By the way, I don't think I will ever get a chance to say this again, so here it is 'Jack Killian, I love you!' Hahaha).

Anyway, so about this book: It is a nice love story with a nice happy ending.
Ok, maybe Katrina and Derrick 'The Love Whisperer' King hit it off a bit too fast.
And maybe the phone sex without really knowing the other guy is a bit too much, a bit too over the top and a bit thoughtless.
And maybe Derrick is forgiven too easily.
And maybe the final solution comes too easily (I would honestly have died, if someone had broadcasted my intimate moments with my special someone and everyone knew exactly who I was).
And maybe the dirty talk is a bit too much nonstop that you may lose the bottom line of this story.

But overall, it is an interesting smutty story and you will enjoy reading it ;)

Out celebrating her recent promotion, Katrina Snow finds out that her boyfriend of one year has been cheating. Derrick King, also known as the Love Whisperer, runs a successful radio show where he dishes out advice about sex and relationships. On this ‘special’ night, the theme is cheating. Kat calls in and Derrick instantly feels a connection with her. He continues the conversation off the air and from one conversation to another, these two embark on an road not yet travelled. Between phone sex, video sex, and actual sex, their initial spark develops into an actual relationship. Despite her reluctance to believe in happy endings, Derrick has been able to knock down every wall she’s ever built. Will their newfound and fragile love survive the tests that are sure to come?

Derrick sounded so hot!! The author did an amazing job bringing this character to life for me. He was incredibly attractive and yet he was old fashioned in his outlook on love. He was waiting for THE ONE!! He was truly a throwback, right? As for Kat, she was very easy to like. With Derrick, she finally found a partner she was comfortable enough to explore with, to own her sexuality, and to finally feel emotions that at one time seemed to be elusive. These two simply worked and their story was fresh and unique… oh and insanely hot!!

Dirty Talk indeed! Whew, I need a cold shower after this hot little number. Lauren Landish did not hold back in this smutty little nugget. It's a quick, fast-paced read that will definitely get you hot under the collar.

Derrick and Kat set my kindle ablaze! Whew, things between the two of them heat up fairly quickly and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Shortly after finding out her boyfriend has been cheating on her, Kat decides to call in to the "love expert" on radio to discuss her situation. Derrick aka, the love expert takes a liking to her immediately. They have some fun on air, but he decides he wants to speak to her again and asks her to call back with an update. When she calls back their conversations heat up pretty quickly!

What I enjoyed: Derrick is so smooth! Super sexy and sensual. I loved his confidence and easy air with Kat. He knows she's not used to the flirty relationship they're engaged in, so he eases her into it.
This one starts out super steamy and then evens out into a more traditional type of wooing. I like that they took a step to try to create a relationship that was meaningful and would stand the test of time.
Both characters are mature and seem to have their business together. There were no games or drama, just two people who know what they want and go for it. That was really a hit with me.

So, if you're into super steamy reads with tons of Dirty Talk I highly recommend you pick this one up soon!

Derrick is called the Love Whisperer on the radio. He’s famous and many people ask him questions during his radio show. One of his listeners is Kat. Kat just discovered that her (soon-to-be-ex-)boyfriend cheated on her and she wants advice from Derrick. There is something about Kat that Derrick likes and he gives her his personal phone number to call when she wants to talk some more. Kat does eventually contact Derrick again and they text a lot afterwards. One day, they decide to meet each other in real life and sparks fly!

The author delivered with Dirty Talk again a hot, sweet, fast paced and romantic story. It’s a great first book of a new (standalone) series. I love the characters and how they met. Derrick is a smart, loving and passionate man. Kat is a sweet, loving, insecure and intelligent woman. Derrick and Kat are a beautiful and solid couple.

    There's too much sex...

The hero is a radio host. In his show, he talks about love, sex and gives advice to people who need it. The heroine's boyfriend cheated on her, she calls the radio station, and that's how they get to know each other. then got attracted and have lots of sex. Then there is some drama and the hero's coworker also causes problem for them.

This could have been a good story. But I don't know what went wrong. It just wasn't entertaining. The author focused too much on the sex that the sex scenes overshadowed the plot.

    My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Solid 4-Stars!

Sweet & easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed! Perfect for summer, vacation or just a break from the heavy stuff.

    PROS:

🔥 - Goes without saying, VERY cute storyline with an interesting conflict makes for a fun read.

🔥 - Derek was not an alpha male which I found fascinating that I enjoyed his character and the author being able to pull it off so well.

🔥 - No judgements were placed after a very "sticky" situation occurred between the two main characters (without giving any spoilers but important to mention).

    CONS:

☠️ - Ok so the ending from about 80% on drags and gets seriously sappy (I am not one for sap or lovie dovie).

☠️ - The sex talk is entertaining & there is chemistry between Kat & Derek BUT it isn't the best or dirtiest. I tend to lean towards dirrrrrty. Therefore, it is hard for the book to live up to the title!!

☠️ - Also around the 80% mark, there are 2 writing errors that should have been easily edited and y'all no I have no patience for that shit.

    BOTTOM LINE:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Need a sweet, easy HEA with no cheating, angst, alpha asshole male character, or dark storylines, then definitely go for it! You won't be disappointed, you might not be blown away but sometimes you just need a little sugar to sweeten the day!

I'm going to kick this review off by letting y'all know it has been a while since I have read erotica of any kind, let alone a very good erotica book. It's not that I don't enjoy them, but they can get repetitive and honestly, I get really shy reading them out in public. I have several reader friends that love Lauren Landish and the cover for Dirty Talk definitely is super hot, so when the opportunity to read it came I couldn't pass it up. I definitely couldn't read it at the salon, but my boyfriend had a great time reading over my shoulder, so that has to count for something.

"Late-night sessions with the Love Whisperer? Lucky me."

As soon as I started reading I knew there was something different about Dirty Talk in comparison to all the previous erotic romances I have read in the past. It's filled with engaging dialogue, just the right amount of details, and characters that feel genuine and relatable. Katrina Snow is a tech-geek, the kind of girl who wants a reliable app and to break into the boys club more than she wants to find a man that puts out all the stops. She's unaware of her beauty, definitely a dirty talker, and not a believer in romance. Derrick is a radio-show host, known as The Love Whisperer, he spends his time giving listeners advice on all things dating and sexual, but personally he believes in fairytale love. What starts as a book about Katrina's boyfriend being a skeezy, cheating jerk soon becomes a fast-paced romance between Kat and Derrick as they engage in a bit of dirty talk after she calls into the show.

"'How about you don't mark it off, and maybe we can do that again?' Derrick asks."

Yes, Dirty Talk is short, it's a very fast read, but it's entertaining and so very sexy. It's the sort of smut that's enjoyable to read though, hitting every girls checklist of what she wishes her partner would do. It had moments that were laugh out loud funny, smut that made me blush, and even some emotional moments that tugged at my heartstrings. My general enjoyment of reading this one is what moved it into four star range, as there are a few grammar issues and plot holes that pulled my attention away while reading.

"This isn't a late-night video chat and booty call."

I can say I am a new fan of Lauren Landish and I will be reading some of her previous releases, as well as looking forward to anything new that may come in the future. A little smut never hurt anybody. ;)

    *sigh*

I’m not sure where to start.

Let’s start with the positive. The story has a lot of promise. I won’t rehash the synopsis, but I liked the premise and the characters were likable enough and they certainly had chemistry. The story was a little predictable, but overall it could be a fun read.

    Now the not so positive.

I’ll start with the fact that the book ends at 39%, the rest is comprised of “bonus content”, which is NOT listed in the description. Had I known this was the case, I wouldn’t have purchased the book. It’s deceiving to open up a book, get started, and think “oh, I have 60% more of the story, this is going to be great!” Only to have it stop.

Next is the editing. There are some serious problems with subject/verb agreement.

    Examples:

“Well, there was a few requirements...”
“Is there any limits you won’t cross with him?”
The meeting continues, and while there’s a few times...

The errors are riddled throughout and it was distracting. I honestly was shocked to see an editor listed because there were so many errors.

Finally, the sex scenes. I got to the point where I was skimming because I was bored. There comes a point where it is perfectly acceptable to fade to black and this book needed it. I read erotica, but at some point this book moved from erotic to ridiculous.

I hate leaving critical reviews but I think it’s only fair that readers know what they’re getting into. I know that multiple sex scenes are a huge selling point for a lot of readers and that is perfectly fine, but if someone is looking for a little more substance, they need to know that this book is not exactly the place to get it.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’ll give her another try, but this book was just not for me.

  • Mariagcri

➳Dirty talking is his forte... acquiring the lady of his dreams became a rollercoaster of a ride that was worth the climax...

➳This is going to be a quick review since the novel itself did not take me a long time to finish. I was asked by the author to review her novel, and I was already planning on reading it tbh so here is my short review...

➳A general idea of what this story is about revolves itself around the facts that one of the main characters (Katherine, aka Kat) gets cheated on because of the evidence of cheating from her ex-boyfriend. She confronts her problems to the main male characters (Derrick) and his responds is one that is instant to protecting her and her emotions. Yes his attraction for her is there and its no news that the spark between them is palpable. However, for my reading eyes, I found their chemistry to be sort of forced... Meaning: both characters were put in the position of wanting to be together, but I found no connection that linked them beyond the aspect of physical interaction.

➳Overall, this was a short novel that can be liked by many who are looking for main characters that are truly dirty talkers, and if you want to get your blood pumping, this story is the ideal novel for you!

Crazy I know right, but just too much sex!

Wow oh wow I can't believe I am saying this , but too much sex in this book! Crazy right!?! With me saying that, you know it's over the top!
I liked both our main characters, I liked the premise of the book and storyline but if they weren't talking about sex, Skype -ing sex, texting it or doing the deed itself then there was little else left! I love my sexy times but I also love a good story. In this book I found myself skipping sexy scenes to get what story there was! So not me!! But that is mainly what this book was talking, sexting, sexing itself! I need more story to equal out the smexy times. 2.5 stars😮

Well... um... that was too smutty for me. Wrong choice, my bad!

I knew the book was titled Dirty Talk, what was I expecting? Still, too much is too much sometimes. Too much dirty talk, too many erotic scenes… well, that was all too much for me and I was bored out of my mind.

    ***

This book contains the mastered form of dirty talk. The hero makes sentences of dirty talk that stretch out into paragraphs. How can one make sentences using 3 or 4 conjunctions in the spur of the moment? They all need stopping, thinking, writing on paper, editing and then reading out loud but our hero constructs these complex sentences of dirty talk all the time. And once shy heroine, turns into as dirty talker as him after they meet and discover their physical attraction.

I am talking about sentences like that: “I want to ………………………………….. like ………………………………….. until you’re ………………………………….. with .............................. and then, I will ………………………………….. so that…………………………………… and then you would .............................. over .............................. when I …………………………………..with it”

See? They were mostly like those complex sentences you need to memorize well to utter so easily or you need to read them from paper. What I am trying to say is that they barely sounded natural to me.

    ***

Somewhere in a chapter, we are told that they have already exchanged “I love you”s.. I was like, WTF? Couldn’t you write one romantic paragraph where the dialogue was about their feelings?

From then on, they say “I love you” to each other many more times but isn’t it the first one that counts? Isn't it the most important one? How it is said, who says it first etc?? How can you just say, we have exchanged “I love you”s already?!!!

    ***

Well, in short, this book is as smutty as a smutty novel goes; so you can pick it up if you ever need one. The characters are likable, at least.

    ***

    Writing: Dual point of view

Length: The novel is 210 pages and when it ends, another one begins. So when you buy the book and see it is 532 pages, don't think it is one book, there is another (Motorhead).

If you like a dirty talking man then I cannot recommend this book more. This book draws you in from the start and I for one couldn’t out it down.

Kat is out celebrating her new promotion with her best friend when she discovers that he boyfriend of a year has been cheating on her. In her heart of hearts she knows that she needs to dump Kevin but calls in to “The Love Whisperer” who just confirms that she is doing the right thing. They connect straight away and Derrick gives her his personal number to call if she needs to talk anymore. Kat follows his advice and calls to update him and that’s when things heat up.

Derrick is a popular DJ and his love show is taking off and getting bigger every day. He’s flirty and there is something about Kat that draws him in from the start and he feels that there is something special there. Derrick believes in love but he can tell that Kat has been hurt by men before and he knows he will have to go slowly to get her to open up to the possibility that this is going somewhere. But as always there is always someone hanging in the background to make things difficult.

This is one hot little number that’s fast paced and will get you hot under the collar.

  • Cami

    3.5 Kitty Kat Stars!

I thought the storyline was a great idea and the characters were likable and it was a super sexy book but I felt like it just wasn’t executed well.

Parts were really good but parts were hokey and cliché. It is hard to explain how it made me feel. I LOVE a sexy book especially with dirty talk but I do NOT like a book that is crude and there were parts of this that bordered that line. Someone’s review that I read said “I read erotica, but at some point this book moved from erotic to ridiculous.” That explains it in a nutshell.

I will admit I ended up skimming sections of the book because they were a bit ho hum and just not very interesting and didn’t really seemed to have much to do with the story. I tend to call that stuff filler and I don’t like it. At around 75 to 80% it got real exciting and what I thought was going to happened ended up being different and the reason for it was also different then I thought….SOOOOOO, what I am trying to say is I thought it was going to be very predictable but it was a little surprising.

All & all just an OK book.

  • Karma Queen

I thought the story was heading for an HEA early (at 40%) but it turns out this edition includes a bonus book
Motorhead. I'll add that one separately.

I enjoyed this story about a satellite radio talk show host who has a way with words and is a true romantic at heart with a naughty side. The Love Whisperer Derrick King gives common sense advice on sex, love, and relationships. Katrina "Kat" calls in for advice and Derrick is intrigued enough to give her his personal number off-air and invites her to call him for a follow-up. Their chemistry is electric over the phone and it is even more intense when they meet in person. This is a fun, sexy read with plenty of dirty talk.

  • tinyteaplots

Well, this started off with a bang, but petered out to a fizzle.
    The good:
    • I liked the characters. They were fun and relatable.
    • The premise was solid.
    • I swear I could hear Derrick talking to me.
    The not so good:
    • This is not a full length story. It ends at 40%. This would have been nice to know ahead of time.
    • All that dirty talk was fantastic in the beginning, but it started to get repetitive.
    • Literally every conversation between the two main characters was steeped in dirty talk. It made the story less believable to me. It also lost some sexy points because it got stale.

But it was fun, so whatevs.

  • Amanda Grooms

This was a freebie, and not a bad one. I wasn’t counting on three books in one, but anywho. This book had an interesting set up, with the radio show host and the fact that he had a show about love and sex. I enjoyed this book, though I could see the coming conflict a mile away. Kat’s ex was a dick, and I’m not sure how she could have dated a guy that phony for as long as she did.... gross. We’ve all said that at least once though, am I right? In comparison, Derrick was everything right, and it was nice to see K and D get the HEA they deserved

  • Cee

I adore books that feature a couple who fall in love (or start to) without seeing each other first. Their relationship here builds over the radio and eventually through the phone. This book is dirty, in the best way. Definitely don't read this book around other people. So much dirty talk, wow. I am actually interested to see how the audiobook would be.
Great book and I will be reading more by this author in the future.

  • Siobhan

Lauren Landish is an author to have grabbed my attention on many occasions. For a very long time I have been meaning to pick up one of the author’s books, yet I always found myself picking up something else instead. I’m not sure why this is, but having finally read a Lauren Landish book I’m annoyed with myself. I had so much fun with this one, and will certainly be picking up more of the author’s work in the future. My only question is why it took me so long to do so in the first place – it really was a ridiculous choice to avoid her work for so long.

From the very first page I was pulled into this book, desperate for more. In fact, by the end of chapter two I was completely lost to the story. I would have finished this book in a single sitting, except a couple of chapters in real life came knocking and I had to put my reading on hold. Nevertheless, I was more than happy to recognise my addition to the story. As if to prove my addiction, as soon as I was able to pick the book back up I finished it in a single sitting.

The story was highly entertaining, keeping me gripped from the start. There was humour, drama, and deep emotion throughout – all things that pull me in with any good romance book. Not to mention, it was perfectly steamy. With the title Dirty Talk I was a wee bit tentative – I feared it was setting expectations in my mind that would not be reached for both the dirty talk and the sexual scenes – but I was not disappointed. In fact, I enjoyed the dirty talk more than I enjoyed the actual act – more than confirming the title is certainly a reflection of what you can expect.

I think, for me, there was only really one issue with this book. While I did enjoy the characters, and felt they played off each other well, I did not feel the chemistry in the way I had hoped to. The interactions were a lot of fun, I loved the way the story came together, but I never fell in love with the ship in the way I wanted to. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was, but I feel as though it was a bit forced. The story was a lot of fun, but they were not characters I could imagine together in any other situation. When I’m really feeling the chemistry between characters I can imagine them in any situation and still imagine their happily ever after – with this one, it felt far too situational. It could just be me, but such was my feeling towards the characters as an actual couple.

Overall, though, I had a lot of fun with this one. I was addicted to this story, and there is no doubt of me reading more Lauren Landish in the future. In fact, I need to read more soon!

Get ready for your kindle to melt, because Derrick and Kitty Kat are FIRE

Wow. What a dirty-talk book, in the most delicious way! I am mad at myself for barely reading a Lauren Landish book!

Kat is a tech/nerd and is proud of it. Shes great at her job and wants to keep moving forward and up with it. She’s been in a relationship with Kevin for a while and hasn’t been touched by him in a long time. One day, her friend Elise is showing her an adult website and notices that Kevin’s private area is in full display, and the woman he’s with is not her. So she ends it, basically determined to never date again since the perfect man and happily-ever-afters don’t exist. Her previous relationships haven’t been the greatest either (she’s been cheated on one too many times now).

Enter the Love Whisperer, aka Derrick. Derrick is a radio host and talks about adult topics. When Kat discovers Kevin’s infidelity, she calls in and vents to Derrick. He gives her advice and has her stay on the line after she gets off the air. They talk afterwards and he gives her his real number. He tells her to call him after she breaks up with Kevin so he can check in with her. But, when she does, things get hot and heavy quickly.

I’ve never had my eyes bug out as fast as they did when I read how dirty their conversations got. I was glad I was in my room, alone, because I was blushing! I devoured EVERY. SINGLE. WORD! 🔥😅😋🥵. It was so good! No wonder Kat wondered if men like Derrick really existed cause, dayummmm, was he good! She gave back just as much but he listened to her needs and felt what was good for her and continued it. Woah- so good! This book is named Dirty Talk for a reason!

The problem is that Kat doesn’t believe in love like she used to. Whereas Derrick is a man that wants serious relationships only. They need to communicate and talk through their problems. On top of that, we have Derrick’s co-host who keeps putting pressure on Derrick to take his job seriously.

Such a good book! I’m definitely going to reread this one and one-click the rest of the series. Amazing!

Dirty Talk by Lauren Landish is naughty and full of emotional hotness that will leave you wanting talking dirty to your significant other behind closed doors. A short, fast paced book that is great for a weekend read. This contemporary romance had no drama, no angst, just pure climaxing fun!

Katrina ‘Kat’ Snow is a techy female who doesn’t believe in romance, thanks to being cheated on by her boyfriend and past hurt. Her intimate barriers that she has concocted are so high it would take a passionate and caring man to resurrect those walls. Derrick King, also known as the Love Whisperer on the talk radio, gives his listeners advice on dating and sex. He believes in the happily ever after romance and when a special caller calls in, he feels a connection to her. When Kat calls in regarding her predicament on her love life, they exchange numbers and after bouts of texting and other forms of communication, a dirty talking relationship commences.

An insta-love-connection arises when Kat and Derrick finally meet up. It’s special and endearing. Even though Kat is an intelligent female in her career, she is insecure in a way, but sweet all around. With Derrick’s help, her emotional walls start to crumble, can she trust this enticing man to incorporate love back into her life? Together they are a beautiful couple. Ms. Landish delivered emotional characters that might just have you connecting with them on some level.

This is an entertaining and sexy book by Ms. Landish. A story you might not want to read in public as how dirty it can be for the mere chance someone will look over your shoulder. If you need a new book with an intense heat element, then look no further than Dirty Talk!

It was rather meh. Until the psycho Susannah incident, the book was lacking. I understand it was called Dirty Talk, but more could have been put into the characters relationship development outside of words and sex. We're just told they are in love, literally only a few pages after Derrick is questioning if furthering their relationship is worth it.
And authors, 'my dirty sl*t' is not endearing.

    In realtà 3,5 stelle
