The Maverick's Bridal Bargain (Montana Mavericks #61) Reviews

Terrific book. Viv is a wedding planner working for the boss from hell. The book opens as she has a meeting with Lydia and Zach (The Maverick's Bride-to-Order) to work on their wedding plans. She's just beginning to hear about a problem with choosing a best man when one of the candidates interrupts the meeting. Cole is the middle of the five brothers and is somewhat overprotective of his brothers. In this case, he had driven all the way from their ranch to where the meeting was, just because he had noticed that Zach's tire pressure was low and hadn't been able to reach him by phone.

I liked both Cole and Viv. Cole is a good guy who has always had a large protective streak, even as a kid. There were any number of stories about how he can't keep from stepping in when he thinks someone needs help. He is also carrying a pretty big load of guilty feelings because he blames himself for his mother's death. Viv is a woman who sometimes wonders about her work as a wedding planner. Her parents have always had a rocky relationship (married and divorced three times - to each other) which sometimes affects the way she looks at her couples. I really liked her attitude when she worked with the couples, as she did her best to provide what they wanted without forcing other things on them. This puts her at odds with her boss on a regular basis.

Cole and Viv struck sparks off each other from the moment they met. It was fun to see how distracted they'd get when they were near each other. As the plans went forward for Zach and Lydia's wedding, I loved watching Cole go from suspicious of Viv and her suggestions to respecting what she was able to do. I had to laugh at his amazement every time she was able to get people to cooperate with her vision or keep them from going overboard on something. When Cole witnessed the abuse that Viv had to take from Estelle, he just had to find a way to help. Hiring Viv to plan a wedding for him was his way of getting Estelle off her back. I couldn't help but laugh, because he had no idea what he was getting into. Between his brother's wedding and his fake one, Cole and Viv found themselves spending a lot of time together. With that time, the attraction between them continued to grow. Beyond the attraction, there was also a deeper connection. I liked the way that Viv came to understand what made Cole the way he was. Cole also understood the effect that her parents' relationship had on her ability to believe in happily-ever-after.

With as close as they were growing, it was only a matter of time before their deception blew up in their faces. I ached for Viv when it happened and really wanted her to sic Cole on Estelle. But she wasn't sure of his feelings for her, and her fears wouldn't let her be another of his rescues. Meanwhile, Cole thought that she was giving him the brush-off as he tried to figure out what his feelings for her were. I loved the discussion he had with his dad, giving him lots to think about when it came to his feelings for Viv. The ending was sweet and romantic, and I loved the way things worked out for them. There was a satisfying little twist in the epilogue that I really liked.

One wedding down, another on the way? With a jaunt into the Montana Mavericks series, Christy Jeffries brings us an impassioned story about a heartbroken family looking for a bright side to concentrate on. The main characters are easy to like and the story line catches our attention quickly with a heartfelt story.

Wedding planner Vivienne Shuster loves getting to make a couple's wedding day a memory they will have forever, so getting to help plan Lydia & Zach's wedding at Rust Creek Falls is a highlight for her. Too bad her snarky boss won't get off her back about bringing in more business ... what's a girl to do?

Rancher Cole Dalton is thrilled to see how special Vivienne is making his brother's big day and he can't help but enjoy the time he gets to spend with her during the planning. When he finds out the precarious position her job is in, he throws some more business her way ... to plan his own wedding ... but who's the bride-to-be?

I won a copy of this book from the author, I was not required to give a favorable review. This is a lovely story of how family can change how people see love and marriage. Cole was going to help support his brother Zach and his financee Lydia and planning their wedding. The wedding planner Vivienne has not problem helping happy couple have the perfect day she doesn't think she will ever marry, she has seen her parents divorce, get remarried, have vow renewals more that she can believe. Cole thinks that all the hoopla is just to expensive until he see how much Vivienne is trying to make things easier and not always the most expensive way like her boss wants. With the threat of Vivienne getting fired he decides to plan a fake wedding for himself. But what turns out them keeping a distance and his rescue need they find that they are falling for each other. I loved this story from the beginning to the finish.

Vivienne Shuster has to come up with more clients for the wedding planning business she's practically running on her own, even though she doesn't own it. She'd rather plan events than try to sell her services, and when the planning for the upcoming wedding of Cole Dalton's brother is going well, she finds herself caught. To help her out, Cole decides to sign a contract for a wedding so that her boss won't fire her.

But Cole has no intention of getting married. He simply wants to help her out, just as he's always done for his family members, particularly after the death of his mother in a fire that burned down their ranch house.

But when the wedding for Cole's brother comes off without a hitch, Vivienne's boss sees her kissing Cole and fires her. Now what is she going to do? And what about that contract Cole signed? Is he now going to have to find a bride--someone other than Vivienne--to go through with what he never intended to continue?

Absolutely adorable title from Christy Jeffries, an author who never disappoints. The characters are all endearing and wonderful (except for a certain heroine's boss, but she's at least amusing in how much one dislikes her,) and the plot never seemed to drag or fall into boring stereotypes. The male lead, Cole, stands out as former military and yet still gentle, kind, and equitable in his treatment of everyone, including our heroine, the immensely adorable Viv. I loved Cole's whole family and I hope I get to read books starring his brothers sooner rather than later!

Also, there's an incredibly adorable Guinea Pig named Lord Nibbles and I love him.

Have enjoyed reading about the Daltons. The fact it is set in Montana, in an area that is well known to me helps. It puts me in that area and I can see the landscape. Then you add in love, what could be better?
What could possibly go wrong with a family of men, with one getting married. The closeness of the family comes through. Christy Jeffries will make you feel like you are there. As you experience planning a wedding, and all that goes with it.

I don't normally go for cowboy stories so I probably wouldn't have picked it off the shelf but I got this as a free gift and I'm glad I did read it. The writing is excellent and the character back stories were built up to the point that it seemed totally believable that Cole would hire Vivienne as a wedding planner just to help her out. Would recommend a read (especially if you like cowboys...then you'll love it).

The sparks fly between Cole and his "wedding planner". Why is he planning a wedding? No one even knew he was dating.
