Winterland Daddies (Second Chance Ranch #1) Reviews
-
Misunderstandings, jealously and a case of assumed betrayal drove Merry away from the only home she knew. Blake and Slade knew they had completely messed up with Merry but didn't know how to fix it. Both wanted her and would have to learn to work together to get her back. Nan, the owner of Second Chance Ranch, is sure she will return to the annual Christmas party that she throws every year for all the kids she took in when they were young. While it's clear that Merry needs BOTH of her Daddies, Blake and Slade will have to learn to work together to ensure that Merry will stay with them. Can they do it? Will Merry find the love of both of her Daddies and want to stay?
This was a quick read but packed with emotion! I love the characters and how the guys learned that to keep her, they would have to change their ideas on menage. Rayanna always writes such awesome stories and I really enjoy each book she writes and eagerly look forward to the next one! -
Just disappointing. Really. I am a silent Goodreads member and rarely (never actually) write any reviews on any of the books I read. But I found this book so offensive that I needed an outlet for that.
I like the author and enjoy her style in general. That's why I never thought I would dislike this book this much. I am a bookworm and someone who is in the lifestyle. Maybe that's why I was so offended by some of the things that happened in the book.
I had high expectations. Who doesn't love/want/need two Daddies, right? But that's not what you have in this book. You have a sweet, considerate, somewhat dominant man in Slade. He is the "Daddy" in the book. But as I said he is not a Daddy, not really. He was one of the few saving graces in the book (if there are any). And we have a jerk, overbearing guy, Blake. He is the so-called "Dom" in the story. He is the one that offends me, to be honest. And here's the reason why:
"I watched in awe, as the belt landed ten times in a minute, as Merry lay there writhing under his ministrations. After the last one landed, Slade dropped the belt on the floor and gathered her into his arms for a cuddle. I watched with disinterest. For me, aftercare ran more along the lines of allowing her to kneel at my feet or suck my cock while I grabbed her hair by the handful. That was precisely why Slade had his say first. Sometimes, a more tender brand of aftercare was called for."
Really?! That's aftercare? NOT OKAY
He is NOT a Dom! And that's what I find offensive. That's not what a Dom is. He is a jerk! he "watches with disinterest" when Slade takes care of Merry after a session because his brand of aftercare is "allowing" his sub to kneel at his feet "or suck his cock". So many things wrong with that statement that I don't even know where to begin. Instead, I am just going to stay silent and fume...
After reading the passage above I just had to force myself to continue reading.
Nan was an OK character I guess. Merry was more like an angsty teen rather than a proper heroine. As I said the only saving grace was Slade. -
JUST WOW WOW WOW. Winterland Daddies captured me from the very start to the very last page. The storyline has some very strong life-lessons, however the characters are so down to earth and darn loveable that you don’t really realize you’re reading the life lessons until you finish that particular section. At which point you’re brain just goes holy cow how true is that.
Ms. Jamison is a new author to me but her writing style, at least in this book, is simply amazing. I literally loved how her learning points were wrapped up in a delightfully erotic Christmastime storyline that I feel sure will capture your heart as it did mine.
Nan, has run a horse ranch for years. She also used this ranch as a way to take in troubled kids and give them a loving home and a place to belong and get that “2nd Chance”. Most of her kids, as she calls them, left the ranch once they were able but Merry, Blake and Slade stayed on. The three grew to have feeling for each other but in different forms. Merry, not being able to choose between Blake and Slade, and of course being her own worst enemy, chose to run away rather than stay and work it out. Now, 5 years later, the guys have matured and want nothing more than Merry home, as does Nan. So they devise a plan to find her and bring her home for Christmas.
But what happens when they find her? Will she come home for Christmas? If so, can Slade and Blake convince Merry to forgive them and show her how much she is loved? Can they convince her to stay and help the kids on the ranch and be their woman? This definitely is a story of love and acceptance, but it’s also stemmed from a Dom/Sub/Daddy lifestyle. There are some very romantic scenes and some might hot ones too. If you enjoy this genre then I Highly Recommend Winterland Daddies. 5 Stars for a great storyline along with a hearty 2 thumbs up. -
Nan has spent decades running the Second Chance Ranch. She wants to make sure that the foster kids she took in had as much of a chance of success as possible. Blake and Slade are two of the boys she took in and they just never left. They now do all the day to day work on the ranch and make sure that everything works the way that it should. They are also Dom-ly types. Slade is a Daddy and Blake is all Dom.
Merry was the last foster child that Nan took in. Five years ago, she was a sub to both Slade and Blake. Each of them gave her something that she needed. The problem is that neither man knew that the other one was in a relationship with Merry. When they found out, they got into a fight and told Merry she had to choose. Instead of choosing, Merry fled. Now Nan wants Merry to come home for Christmas, but she isn't going. Or is she?
This is an interesting story. I liked seeing the forgiveness that goes into any kind of relationship, let alone a relationship that had a big fracture in it like the one between these 3. The boys had learned to share in the time she had been gone, but it still took work to make it all right. It also shows that just because you love someone and you are in a dynamic that you like doesn't mean that you are going to get everything right, which is what happened here. Lots of mistakes were made, on all parts, and the real work that has to go into any relationship shows up in this story. There's an HEA, but it doesn't come out of nowhere, it's worked for and earned. -
This book has it all. Nan and her husband decided to give second chances
to kids mostly teens that had been troubled in their past. They used horses
as forms of therapy to give their life a new kind of future. Meredith comes
to the ranch as one of the youngest to be taken in. She has an encounter with
Slade and Blake and couldn't stand to make a decision so she left. So Slade goes
to Arizona to bring back Meredith (Merry) to Second Chance Ranch. This story
has so many more twists and turns and an outcome you won't see it coming.
You won't want to put it down until you read the whole novel. -
This is the story of how Blake, Spencer, and Merry messed everything up and then how they worked to put it back together again. Merry is high-maintenance and needs really needs both the heavy hand of a dom and the gentleness of a "daddy". We see that Merry is harder on herself that anybody else and their loving discipline actually helps her move on. I love the strength of Nan to help bring her "babies" back together. It is also honest about both men having moments of doubt or jealousy but working to overcome those moments because of their love for Merry. Merry has a lot of potential and I was glad to see her start to understand her own worth.

This was such a heartwarming but also sexy book. Ms. Jamison knows how to balance the emotional conflicts and internal motivations of the characters and all the sizzling hot scenes you could want. I loved this story and the characters. Merry wants her men but doesn't think she deserves them. Blade and Slayde want Merry and will share her, but how do they convince her? Their struggles are real. Their connections are believable. The story draws you in. That is what makes this a great book and Ms. Jamison an incredible writer. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It seems strange to describe a menage romance with two hot, dominate cowboys as sweet, but here the description totally fits. The story is the perfect blend of spicy menage romance and sweet Christmas story. The characters are all well developed and likeable and the setting is perfect. I fell in love with Nan from the first page, then slowly fell for all the characters. This is the my first book from this author and I definitely look forward to reading more from her in the future.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. -
I picked up a copy of Winterland Daddies on a whim. Sometimes I try out different genres just for the fun of it. Well this is one of those times that the book wasn't right for the reader. The author had described everything in the blurb but it just wasn't a good fit. I cannot give it higher than a three star rating because I was bored with the story and glad when I finished it. However if you are into a sex filled menage Daddy/Dom story set in rural Texas then this is the right book for you even if it was the wrong book for me. It's an easy read and told from multiple point of views.

Hurried
This book had good bones and for a quick read that's sometimes all you need. But there is so much buildup to scenes (in and out of the bedroom) that are then passed over and it's the next day or days later.
Spoilers...
The ending for a huge example... We didn't really get to see the guys reactions not to mention Nan's who deserves to have that moment.
Like Merry, maybe the author should learn she has a lot more to offer. -
At Second Chance Ranch it is all about getting that second chance. And Christmas is the perfect time for trying for the second time. Five years ago Merry ran because she was forced to make a choice between Slade and Blake . Now things are different, but will she take the chance?
It is a beautiful, funny, romantic, sweet and sexy holiday story. Perfect for Christmas -
A little sugar and spice.
I thought the build up of the characters was good, it wasn't to drawn out and gave you enough back information to get you moving forward. Once you were moving forward you won't want to stop until you know her decision. Nan is a great and I would love to see a book that she goes back and tells her story in detail. Just a thought. Just a great read -
This was a good book the story line was strong. I just wish there had been less of the problems between the main characters. This is the first Rayanna Jamison and I will be watching her. I do encourage you to give this one a chance it is worth your time and effort. I will be reading more of Rayanna Jamison's books, I believe she has lots of potential.

I enjoyed reading this holiday romance about three people who ended up in the same foster home. Misunderstandings, spankings and menage all made this an interesting story and kept me turning the pages.

Absolutely loved this book and looking forward to more by this author. Love the variety of genres, BDSM, age play, and romance. The characters are emotional and full of turmoil. Eventually, through patience, trust, cooperation and love they find true commitment and happiness. Please read.

Slade and Blake want Merry back, and they've been trying to do that for 5yrs. Once she's back home on the ranch, there is so much healing that goes on. Lucky Merry to have a Dom and a Daddy. -
WOW!! So Good!!

Okay, so honestly I don't really know how I feel about this one. There are things about it I really love, but... also there wasn't much emotional payoff either. I think the characters were interesting, but honestly I like some of the side characters more than the female lead... -
This is a good ménage, daddy, Dom story. I’m not a fan of daddy Dom stories but this was a good read.

Too many spankings, not enough sex.
Unnecessary apologies from the Heroes.
Frakin' annoying heroine.
This book was just not for me.
