There is something I do not like about this author's writing style. Everything was so abrupt, the character development was poor and overall this book fell flat for me. I read another book by her and had the same thoughts. I was surprised she has written so many books, this being one of the newer ones. Where the older ones even worse?

2.5 🌟🌟The premise of this book caught my interest. The lead female (Scarlet) is strong, independent, and professional (she’s a veterinarian in cattle country). Luke (the lead male) is super successful in the tech world, but has lots of family issues and hang ups about his past. Luke and Scarlet were high school sweethearts but Luke broke it off thinking he (or his family) wasn’t good enough for her. Same thing basically happens years later when he returns to Royal.

I really have enjoyed working my way through all the Texas Cattleman Club books. It’s like a soap opera I can’t get enough of. But this one fell a little flat. The characters kept saying the same thing over and over to each other. It was a short book, but it still seemed to drag on; unfortunately.

I always like to comment on the cover art of these books. I love how Scarlet is depicted with a pixie cut and Luke looks like a wealthy rancher. I wish they were just embracing without trying to kiss - it just seems ackward.

Once again a child’s parents cause a negative view of a child’s adult life. Scarlett is a spitfire . I love her. Finally Luke wakes up and realizes he can’t live without his high school sweetheart. Getting closer to figure out the Will scandal.

Good book, but very predictable. Some unexpected events that I really enjoyed.
The Imposter series is dragging for me at this point!

Started out promising, but became very mechanical by the end! :(

Luke has returned to Royal to take care of his families farm and to get the farm in his name so his father can do no further damage. He is also in to see his dad who is in an assisted living facility due to cirrosis of the liver. When Luke gets to his family farm he sees very sick animals so he goes to the neighbor, Scarlett, whom he had loved when he was younger. she is the town vet..she tells him to go but when he tells her about the animals she is ready to help..their touches even from the beginning are electric..Than thy hook up and get back together and things are great...but she doesn't want to fall in love with him again...Can she guard her heart? Than her ex comes back and stir up trouble and Luke runs but before he does he kisses her as if his life depends on it..Will he realize that he loves her and her little boy Carl...will she run to Luke? While all this is going on there is my investigation to see if they can find the money that the fake Will aka Rich stole from TCC using some of Luke's products...Another great story in this series
