But I fell in love.

***I received a complimentary ARC of this book in exchange for honest feedback.***

OK I didn't love this one which is odd because I love a good Billionaire and the nanny romance!!! I read the other reviews and it must be a case of "it's me not the book". It happens. As a mom it's hard to read stories with children in them, I tend to judge. In this story there were just too many situations that wouldn't happen, especially with a two year old!. I just couldn't get into it. I'm tired of 20 year old virgins meeting the H and all of a sudden they can't have sex fast enough. It all felt a bit too rushed to me, just a little to predictable. I'm sure it's just me.

I found this book a little bit different from the books I have recently read from Michelle Love. It is a very sweet story but the ending seems quite predictable. Gannon is a billionaire who ends up with a 2 year old son. Since he is inexperienced in this field he hires his best friend’s sister as a nanny and when they meet they both realize that they are doomed. The attraction is inevitable and although they try to struggle this feeling, they both fall in love. Both characters are very much alike; Deep inside Gannon wants a family and a companion, while Brooke is the perfect girl for a long lasting relationship.

I got this book in exchange for my honest review. I was so on the edge of my seat the entire time. Such a great read and I can't wait to see what else comes next in the series or at least I hope there will be more.

where do i even begin 😭
I usually don’t bother writing actual reviews like this because I just never feel compelled to, but this really had me itching to just complain about it. So sorry to anyone who may be reading this if it's messy and bad. I don't even know why I started reading this. Straight romance novels with photographs as covers is something I don't like and never bother with. But this was free on ibooks, so I was like, okay, why not. It's super easy to blow through because the writing is so simple. And wow, it was… definitely a book.
I even annotated it, which I don't even really like doing, because of how frustrating it was.

Firstly, the plot is just so… bland. It's this romance between Gannon and Brooke that I'm not interested in at all. Then, there’s a ten chapter long conflict which is so completely underwhelming and boring. Cassandra being the mastermind behind all of it wasn’t surprising at all and if i hadn’t completely forgotten about her as soon as she wasn’t in any scenes, i would’ve been able to guess it was her. Not to mention she was god awful at it. Just laying out all this incriminating information to Brooke’s sister, who is A TOTAL STRANGER to Cassandra. Please.
Something I had thought of while reading was what if in some insane ploy to get Brooke away from Gannon, Brooke's family are the people threatening him and his night club? yeah, it wouldn’t have really made any sense, but it would’ve been so much more interesting than the generic baby mama wants baby daddy’s money so baby daddy needs to die. like it would’ve been insane but i would’ve been so much more invested.
Also, I don't know why, but on ibooks and goodreads they’re marketed as “holiday romances” when there’s nearly zero mention of the holidays at all. They mention thanksgiving once because Brooke's birthday is around then and she invites Gannon and Braiden. Then, like, the last two chapters are during Brooke's birthday, which is just a couple days away from Thanksgiving. So why would you call it a holiday romance?
Anyway, that’s all I really have to say about the plot. there’s nothing really else to say.

I wanna get Gannon out of the way because holy shit, he fucking sucks. It became very clear to me from the moment he met Brooke that he’s misogynistic and only views women he’s attracted to as sex objects. I can’t even begin to express my level of discomfort when I had to read his explicit sexual fantasy about her and him jerking off to her all from simply looking at her for less than five minutes. Maybe I just don’t get it because I'm not a 30 year old cishet guy, but you were specifically ordered by Brooke's brother, Brad, to not think of her in that way. You seriously had one job and you immediately failed.
Another obvious telling of his misogyny is when Jasmine shows up, one of his ex flings. She is written to be the complete opposite of brooke. She's “slutty” while Brooke is a sweet little pure innocent virgin. Jasmine wears tons of makeup and has chest/butt implants while Brooke doesn’t wear makeup and has natural “assets” (as Gannon calls them). And of course, jasmine has dark hair and dark eyes, as opposed to Brooke's blonde hair and blue eyes. This entire chapter is, I guess, supposed to show how Gannon changed and isn’t artificial and shallow anymore, looking for a real connection with Brooke while realizing what he had with Jasmine wasn’t anything he wanted in life. But the language he uses is so fucking gross, I had to do a double take. he’s constantly comparing her to brooke, he’s viewing her as a sexual object, even mentioning how it’s so weird that his “body didn’t have an urge for hers”. Because for some reason, Gannon is some insane horny beast that can’t ever keep it in check. I guess it’s supposed to be hot??
He also calls Jasmine a “big phony fake woman” which made me want to beat him with a baseball bat. At that point, I didn't even care that Jasmine wanted to just get into a relationship with him for his money, because frankly, he doesn’t deserve any better than that. He didn’t at the beginning of the book and he didn’t at the end. Even then, he doesn’t even really display any signs of growth because he just used Jasmine as some weird way of manipulating Brooke to see if she’d have a jealous reaction I GUESS??? Like at this point just keep being a manwhore and never settle down and never experience true love and happiness because you don’t deserve it.
Also, just another thing, I know this is a billionaire romance, but good lord do I hate rich people.
Gannon's personality is somehow insufferable and bland at the same time. The only things I know about him are: he’s been rich his whole life, he’s in love with Brooke, he has a child, and he used to have sex a lot with different people. There's nothing else to him. He doesn’t have any normal interests, he doesn’t even have a favorite animal when they go to the zoo. (unless he did and i missed it ummm…) anyway, there is nothing there. I could excuse a lack of actual personalities if it was just a book mainly about smut, but it isn’t.

Brooke is fine? Sometimes. She doesn’t really have a personality besides being in love with Gannon and Braiden and loving children. I don't even think what she actually majors in is even mentioned. The only thing they say is how she wants to work with children and how she’s going to college for that. but work with them in what way? it would’ve been more interesting to dive into at least a little bit more of that, giving her some depth.
The way the people treat her in this book is extremely uncomfortable. I don't care that she’s 20 and a virgin. That's her business and is ultimately not that serious. BUT, the people in her life, specifically Brad and Gannon (men), treat her like this innocent little pure virgin angel who is incapable of taking care of herself.
Brad is an actual lunatic about even the possibility of Brooke and Gannon being together in any capacity. He doesn’t care that Brooke is a grown woman who is perfectly capable of making her own decisions. I understand wanting to protect your little siblings, but you have to let them grow and make mistakes on their own. He's so adamant about Brooke not doing anything with Gannon while failing to realize that kind of shit will just make her more gravitated towards him.
and it’s not just Brad. Apparently, her entire family is crazy about her life. According to Brooke, they’ve done crazy stunts before to sabotage relationships Brooke has had under the guise of “protecting her”. like ????? It's seriously so unsettling how people act like Brooke is some pure wonder to the world and can’t make any of her own life decisions because how could she know what she’s doing? She's a sweet little naive angel. Well fuck that and fuck you.
I don’t think she should’ve gotten with Gannon (I’m a hater) but like… that’s her life. You can’t just control it forever because she’s a woman.

Also, I don't like their age gap. It's only a decade, but she’s only 20 and he’s 30. He has insanely more life experience than her. not to mention he gets off on her being young and innocent and “virgin-like”. like she isn’t even through with college yet. it’s just weird to me.

I guess the next things I’ll talk about are the sex scenes because wow there are a few and wow they are pretty awful 😭
There's absolutely no buildup to any of these scenes, so there’s no tension that I usually see in other romance novels with sex scenes. It’s always just straight into it.
Another, more pressing issue with them is how fucking uncomfortable they are. I’ve read Wattpad fanfics with better smut. It’s very cut and dry and there aren’t a lot of descriptions on anything other than the actions I guess? And, of course, you can’t forget the god awful dialogue during them. It feels so unnatural and so forced.
Then there’s the whole Brooke being a virgin aspect. The first time they do anything sexual together, they go all in, so why the next day when they’re doing it again, during a Brooke POV, she keeps mentioning how much of a virgin her body is. Like no, you aren’t a virgin anymore. You guys literally had sex yesterday.
Speaking of their first time, which was Brooke’s first time ever, it felt too perfect to me? Like I don’t know, I’m just not buying that her first time was this magical, euphoric, Heaven-like experience.
Then there’s one where she asks if they should have a safe word because obviously she’s asking, she’s inexperienced. and he rolls his eyes and says that isn’t necessary because they aren’t doing anything crazy. and then like a few sentences later she’s like commenting on how what he was doing hurt 💀
I expect there to be terrible smut, but then there’s a chapter where they do it in Braiden's playroom while he’s sleeping in it. Like I really don’t care if voyeurism is their kink or some weird shit. Don’t fucking do that shit while your TWO YEAR OLD SON IS ASLEEP IN THE SAME ROOM. Like oh my fucking god, what the fuck is wrong with you people.
She mentions that it’s because they had gone through so much together that he needs that reassurance that she’s whole and safe and it’s like fine, if that’s really the reason you wanna fuck, go for it, don’t let me stop you, BUT DON’T DO IT IN THE SAME ROOM AS YOUR SLEEPING CHILD. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care. I wanted to throw up during that shit.

I want to talk about the last few chapters while Brooke, Braiden, and Gannon are visiting Brooke’s family for Thanksgiving.
During the entire book, Brooke’s family had been so adamant about her and Gannon not ever dating, let alone simple touching. But then, magically, Brooke’s family is totally on board with them being together, along with him proposing. You never get to read about Brooke’s family’s attitude changing, so when was it supposed to happen? Did Gannon talk to them beforehand? Did Brooke’s sister, Brianna, tell everyone there may be a thing between the two so they got used to it? I kind of doubt that one, though, because Brad would’ve definitely gone insane over it.
I wish there were more details on it. I feel like there’s a lot missing in between the conflict being over and the last two little happy chapters.

Some random things I just want to mention.

Brooke constantly mentioning Gannon’s blue eyes is so fucking annoying. Like we get it, the motherfucker has blue eyes.
Braiden never made sense to me. He’s this always happy kid, only ever really showing negative emotions when he first leaves Cassandra’s care and when their house gets shot up. Other than that, he’s always happy, smiling, and laughing. Maybe I just don’t understand child psychology, but he got over the trauma he most definitely endured with Cassandra seemingly very quickly. Maybe I just don’t get it, but I don’t buy that he’s just so cheery and perfect all the time. Like, I’m not trying to hate on a two year old or anything. I’m just saying I don’t understand how Brooke or Gannon never have any problems with him aside from some of his developmental delays from the neglect he endured with his bio mom.
Speaking of his bio mom, seriously nothing made me more irritated than Brooke talking about how, “no matter how evil she is, she’s still Braiden’s mother”, or whatever the fuck she said. Like… no. Sure, she’s “technically” Braiden’s mom, but she isn’t actually his mom. She hasn’t done anything motherly towards him, let alone anything a caregiver should do. It’s very clear early on that Brooke is Braiden’s mother, which is only reinforced by him calling her “ma” at the end of the book. Personally, blood means nothing to me. Your family is who actually treats you as such. She also judges Gannon for never wanting Cassandra to ever be able to be in Braiden’s life as if Cassandra didn’t send Braiden a death threat and neglect him for two years before handing him off to Gannon. AND SHE HANDED HIM OFF WITH ULTERIOR MOTIVES. THAT SHE WAS PLANNING FOR A YEAR. Also her saying she can’t be happy that Cassandra’s evil ass got arrested because “Braiden will remember it”... no the fuck he will not 💀 he is TWO years old. For someone studying child development, you’d think she’d know that.
The proposal was so fucking lame and boring and bland and bleh. I had a running joke with myself that Brooke sometimes acted like Gannon’s mother and him mentioning that Brooke and his mom shared the same middle name only reinforced that joke in my brain.

I can’t believe a shitty romance novel made me write a shitty 2,000+ words review 😭
Also, I don’t understand who this is appealing to. I guess straight women? If I was a woman and saw Gannon I’d run for the hills. It’d be like seeing a demon.

  • Alberta

DNF after 28%. Too corny and too dramatic.

  • Tynna

The story was ridiculous. I don't care how rich you are, cops and agents don't let civilians run the show. And the villain willing to kill people but not doing their research enough to be aware of who's related to whom? And the family reactions to h having a life? Good lord, the whole story was over-the-top.
I'm so sick of manwhores getting virgin girls; it's just disgusting. 🤢 He has this whole inner monologue about how he doesn't know if he should pursue her because he doesn't know if he could give up being a manwhore. Wtf? He brings another woman home for dinner and to possibly sleep with, but then he tells h that he only did it to get her to admit her feelings for him and that he didn't really want the ow. Umm...that's not what you were thinking earlier when you planned this clusterf*ck. I never for a second believed that H loved h.
I couldn't tell you my thoughts on h because I honestly don't even remember; she's that memorable. And I read this yesterday.

Gannon Forester is doing business with two billionaire friends, who are scheduled, to have a video conference with him. The building of the billionaire club is, not moving fast enough, either. He is so used, to instant gratification that time is, not moving fast enough. At thirty he is already wishing his life away.

He had met them at a prestigious nightclub in, Vegas one night a few months ago. They met at, Hakkasan, a nightclub for the extremely wealthy. Blowing a hundred grand, at the place is easy. And it is there, they hatch a plan, to build a nightclub comparable, to that one. Hakkasan is in the top ten of high-status nightclubs around the world. The men all three from LA want the same thing there but far better in every way, August Harlow and Nixon Slaughter had his back, and he theirs.

After, the conference call with the guys about the club he hears, Janine, arguing with a woman, “No, you may not go looking for Mr. Forester, Miss!” Now, nobody bulldozes, Janine, but when this woman starts name-calling he had to go check on his loyal employee. Gannon asks who she is, “Cassandra Harrington. Surely you remember me.”

He had no clue. He moved the discussion to his office where she manhandled the child as if he were a sack of potatoes. Her saying the little boy Braiden Michael, two is his and she is tired of caring for him. She told him either he took him or she was taking him to social services. The sweet boy didn't deserve this so he said, he needed a paternity test. So, she said she would wait a week before she did anything. He is the father, now he needs a nanny. He is talking to his best friend a college buddy who is back in the country, Brad who says he knows someone.

She does the same. Their meet-cute is the sparks that fly the minute their hands touch, the lingering glances, and the terms of endearment. But, when a threat on their lives brings fear home to roost they all must come to terms with their truths.

Love the characters, the fast pace action, and the emotion that pulls you in. I really dislike the cover. Take about dark and overly photoshopped or something. Good thing the blurb and title lured me in.

I received an Advanced Copy to supply a honest review of the author's work.

From the very beginning Gannon has a surprise of a lifetime. A woman comes in his office and almost literary throws a kid at him and starts to leave saying "here, this is your's". Gannon was thrown off big time. Besides other things of bad luck happens to this hottie, Gannon gets confirmation that the boy is his. The minute he finds that out, his heart melts. But how does he take care of this child.
In comes Brooke, her brother is his best friend, and she ends up being the little boy's sitter.
Besides getting threats from her brother to Gannon, and the warning from Brooke saying her family will kill her, the undeniable happens. They fall for each other. This is where the book actually gives it hope. Love writes these characters with so much heart on their sleeves, you actually feel for them.
Besides her description of how undeniable adorable the little boy is, you also need a fan for all the hot and sexy parts of the two main characters going to bed. Numerous times. Which is perfectly fine with me. Sometimes even my toes curled imagining the descriptions Love authors.
Throughout the whole book, it was back and forth from both Brooke and Gannon how can they keep their love be kept a secret, yet second guessing everything. I didn't have a problem with it. In fact it kept on wanting me to keep reading more and more.
Me being a sucker for unique ways of ending the story and you just don't know how the author is going to do it, I was in love with how she ended it.
You always wish that a Billionaire would be in your life. And this one had a heart of gold being written so well. Wishing I could go home to one myself but only in my mind like how all authors wish you will finish a book written with such emotion. Always daydreaming for your Gannon.

    Bewitching Gannon 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Another awesome story from Michelle Love!!!! Gannon and Brooke are the perfect counter part for each other making them an exciting and fun couple. Gannon has no time for a serious relationship with being CEO of his father's company since his death, and building an exclusive nightclub with his two friends and partners. That all changes when a woman he doesn't recognize drops the bombshell about his two year old son he didn't know existed and she no longer wants him to boot. After DNA testing for the proof he desperately needs help, enter his best friends baby sister. Brooke is ten years his junior and in her second year of college specializing in Child Care Development. The only stipulation is DO NOT touch said innocent sister....ever. RIGHT!!!!! The chemistry between Gannon and Brooke is undeniable and they can only fight it sooo long. After their relationship turns very intimate and must be kept a secrete, a threat is made against Gannon's son and he will do whatever it takes to protect the two most important people in the world to him. How will Gannon get to the bottom of the threats, protect Brooke and Braiden to keep them in his life and not loose his best friend??? Loved it!!! Brooke might be innocent but she will definitely rule the roost and give Gannon his what for. A must read and the bonus stories will keep you just as bewitched as much as Gannon and Brooke. Can't wait to see what Michelle will come up with next.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
    Thank you Michelle Love

What do you do when you’re a billionaire and you find out you have a two year old son? That’s what happened to Gannon. He has to find a nanny/babysitter for his son because he knows nothing about taking care of a child, so his best friend recommends his little sister who’s a college student, only he has a rule that comes with the recommendation, don’t touch her or flirt with her or you’ll pay with your life.
Brad is Gannon’s best friend and his sister Brooke has accepted the position to be a live in sitter for Gannon’s son. Brad explains to his sister the rule about no touching and flirting to her also.
Things are going great, Gannon and Brooke are getting along and Braiden is opening up and learning to make sounds, they’re both concerned that he’s not saying words and trying to talk. They can only think that it’s from his mother’s negligence.
Gannon is starting to look at Brooke with passion in his eyes and she is feeling the affection. She tells him what she wants but also explains to him that she is still a virgin, and he’s shocked.
Brooke is worried about what her overprotective family will say about how she feels about Gannon because of the 10 year age difference, but Gannon doesn’t care, he has claimed her as his and he will do what he has to do to keep her and protect her and his son.
I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it to read. Very well written.

The Forbidden Sitter is a riveting romance novel. As I read the book and saw how Michelle Love wrote each chapter via the protagonists _ Gannon Forester (hero) and Brooke Madilyn Moore (heroine) _ in a first person point of view (pov), I remember Treasure Island, I read so many years ago.

The title of the book is appropriate. It starts with the inciting incident of a boy, Braiden, begotten out of wedlock, whose mother, Cassandra, brings him back to his father, Gannon Forester who is ignorant of the result of his past affair. Via DNA, Gannon becomes convinced that Braiden is his biological son and needs a babysitter to take care of the child. Brad, Gannon's friend, introduces his sister, Brooke as a baby sitter to Gannon, a womanizer, and warns him not to defile her.

Michael Love explores cliffhanger, suspense, tension, internal and external conflict, in making the reader curious and eager to know what happens.

Some questions are begging for answers. Why does Cassandra bring her son to his father and threaten to discard the lad if Gannon refuses to accept him? Where does the intimacy Gannon and Brooke have lead them to when Brooke is babysitting?

The plot of the book is good and hardly is any plot hole noticable. There are themes of love, jealousy, arson, betrayal and greed.

I recommend the book to lovers of romance genre.

  • (Grace) Kentucky Bohemian

Well, Gannon Forrester is certainly a book boyfriend that’s easy to love. With a reputation as a shallow playboy, his life changes in an instant when a woman who is not even vaguely familiar to him walks into his office with a quiet two year-old boy in tow, announcing that the child is his. Gannon doesn’t even have experience in relationships with women. He knows nothing about being a father. But his best friend Brad steps in with what seems to be the perfect solution, his sister Brooke. The only caveat: Gannon has to promise to keep his lusty playboy hands off her, or he’ll face Brad’s wrath and lose the best person for his young son.

Since this is a romance, it’s no surprise that Gannon and Brooke find themselves attracted to each other. But it’s the skill of the author that turns the obvious into the sublime. Their passion is sweet, spicy, and undeniable. Amazingly, Gannon’s son Braiden plays a unique role throughout their romance. This story has an excellent balance of fiery heat, suspense, and powerful interactions among engaging characters.

This well-paced and beautifully written story does contain some mature language, and definitely has steamy love scenes. If that’s an issue, then reader beware… otherwise, enjoy this great read!

OH WOW!!! What a story: Gannon and Brooke. Brooke was a twenty year old college student studying Child Development. Gannon was a thirty year old playboy billionaire until a woman he cannot remember tells him that the two year old boy is his son. DNA testing done Braiden was indeed Gannon's son. The mother Cassandra threatened that if he does not take the boy she will take him to Social Services. Gannon takes Braiden. He does not know what to do he needs a live in full time sitter or nanny. Brad, Gannon's best friend, told him his sister was looking for a situation where she could use what she had learned in college and would be ideal to sit for Gannon. Only Brad was leery that Gannon would put the moves on his baby sister. Brad made Gannon swear he would not touch her. Brad introduces Brooke to Gannon and there was automatic attraction. Brooke took the job. Now Cassandra gave up full custody of Braiden to Gannon she said she wanted nothing to do with him. HMMMM sounds fishy. This book had my attention from page one till the end and it was filled with love and romance and danger. An excellent read.
I voluntarily received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from Ebook Itch Romance.

From the title I was able to pretty much know the story before reading the first page the book was ok it was in line with another book with the same storyline I did like the add-in of the villain and how that story played out. As normal with these stories the main female character was young she could not even drink at the start of the book and she instantly falls in love with the boy and the father it was unbelievable but really what I was expecting I keep reading these hoping they would up the age on some of the female leads they are always under 25 it seems while the majority o the readers are more likely in their 30s. I liked it enough that I read it and may look at other books by this author it was not as good as some of these stories can be but it also was not a book of me mumbling what is wrong with this story and adding comment something that can happen when I read these stories. So it is worth a read.

Very exciting, suspenseful, fun, and hot and steamy. One of his past trysts comes to him with a little boy she says is his and if he does not agree to take him will give him away. He takes him and ends up with his friend's little sister to live in and look after the boy. They end up fooling around and in the meantime a lot of trouble comes from his business. Also her brother has warned him to keep his hands off of his sister. It gets really exciting and I highly recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
