It seems like this book just couldn't decide what it wanted to be. It had a lot of modern slang, crude humor, and things that were a bit out of place for the world that this was set in. If you are going to do a fantasy book, commit to it. Do some world building. Create a system of government that makes sense. Where does food come from? How are textiles made? Who rules? Create a culture to give depth to a book.
This book could have been set just about anywhere. There was very little personality to where they lived.
Also the map was a mess but y'all know how I am about maps. They have to be logical and the rivers did not make any sense whatsoever.
This book could have been good if it had just taken a specific direction and stayed on that path. Instead, it flip flopped between being mundane and fantasy. -
My, what big wolves you have, my dear. I never could have imagined that the “red” in Little Red Riding Hood could stand for Hot! Hot! Hot! That is exactly what happened in Mila Young’s HUNTED!
Scarlett is a healer. When evil is threatening the wolf shifter packs of the forest, she becomes the last hope to heal a dying alpha, one of three who all have an intense attraction to Scarlett. It will take all of her healing talents and her magic to save the shifters, but it will take only her heart to tell her she has found her perfect mates. Mates? Is it possible she has fallen for the sensual and sexual magnetism of three men?
How can a human female find love and lust among shifters? How can Scarlett be so sexually charged when the very existence of the shifters is in danger? Mila Young knows and she has shared this fresh and fabulously delicious tale in a grown up version of Little Red Riding Hood. Sexy, sassy and even humorous at times, this tale will warm up any cold, winter night!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Mila Young! This is my honest review.

This was so cringeworthy and awful and I don't know how I finished it. I think it's only because I didn't have another book already lined up that I did. It's supposed to be a fairy-tale retelling, but there's no world-building, no character growth, no romance. Just sex for the sake of mating, no bond or reason behind it except for an animal drive. And it was kind of gross. This is one series of stand-alone retellings that I will not be continuing.
-
Okay story but the writing left a lot to be desired.
The flirtation, and 'dirty talk' some were a little cringy. -
This was a cute if somewhat cheesy RH (loose) retelling over Little Red Riding Hood. This was a super short read so a lot of the scenes particularly the relationship and getting to know each other was sped up. I’d definitely classify this as instalust, though for one of her mates, he’s more wary and scared of her and her humanness so he fights the bond. I like how she owned an herbal shop and her magical gifts were kinda cool and Hensley life saving since she could enhance herbs particularly lifesaving ones. There was some foreshadowing in the book but even without I did find it a bit predictable. And the cheese factor was high I won’t lie. I read via audio and some of the dialogue was a bit cringey. It was pretty lighthearted and while over the top I found it fun. The end sort of alludes to what I’m assuming will Ben the next book with her bff. I’m looking forward to it, her friend B is nothing like the demure, book smart/shy Belle we are used to.

Mediocrity strikes again
This was definitely in need of an editor with missing words, incorrect words and mixed up character names. There is almost no actual character development beyond Scarlet and Dagen, who are described in a paragraph each rather than through actual storytelling. There is no romance, no relationships beyond the whole mate drive and sex. The premise was interesting enough, and had it been handled better, this could have been a rather interesting story. It's a shame that it wasn't. I will not read the other books in this series and wouldn't recommend this one. -
Okay so I enjoyed it, but I didn’t like it ..
Is that logical?… I don’t think it is.
The book was fully focused on spice and not so much on world-building or character development. The plot was meh. But if you want some spice and moments where you think wait whut.. I guess it is an okay book to read (don’t advise the audiobook tho (the woman doing man voices isn’t my steamy dream lets just say). -
This is the first book of the Haven Realm series, and this first book is a reverse harem crossed with a fairytale retelling story. I am fairly new to the reverse harem genre, and I like them, but I’m not a huge, huge fan. Same with the fairytale retelling genre. After reading this book, however, I think I may change my mind! Not only was the book well-written, it had an interesting plot, was hard to put down, and had very interesting characters. I think this was the best reverse harem book I’ve read up to now. Of course, the ones I’ve read before were great, but this one was just better. Smooth is the best word I can come up with to describe this book. I am amazed at how much I loved it from start to finish, and I cannot wait to see what the author comes up with in the next installment. Each book is going to be a standalone in the same universe, and I am so glad there is going to be more! If you like the reverse harem genre, you really, really need to read this book; it was great! Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.

I really enjoyed this take on the classic story of red riding hood! Mila Young has written a fantastic book, and it is hard to believe that this is her debut book! This is book is well written and is an exciting story that keeps the reader captivated throughout the whole book! I love Scarlet’s character she is strong, sassy, honest and caring. There were a number of LOL moments between Scarlet Nero, Oryn and Dagen but also some real sorrow and hardship! Scarlet’s moments with all three of her guys are special and Mila Young does a great job portraying their relationships. It is hard to pick favourites out of her guys, but for me I think Oryn is a little ahead as my favourite.
Another great thing about this book is the supporting cast and I cannot wait to read Bee’s story in Cursed! Fantastic new RH series that has a very interesting take on some classic fairytales. Highly recommended!! -

A must read.
If u like your fairytale retold with that wicked twist this is the book for you. Scarlett a seemly innocent human with just a little magic finds herself running headlong into the den territory to escape the clutches of the priestess only to be attacked and saved by wolves. But what happens from there I won't give away ! The characters are lovable . The story dragged you in and won't let you go. Personally I absolutely loved it and can't wait to read more. -
“Having a soft heart in a cruel world meant you had courage, not weakness.”
This could have been interesting but my expectations were dashed. Maybe that was my problem, maybe I shouldn’t have had expectations. Yet, with a blurb like this:
“Scarlet must use her wits and magic to survive and unravel the strange affliction now affecting the wolves.”
I expected a strong female protagonist that’s smart and can handle her own against a load of alpha men. Truth is on the surface Scarlett is smart and capable, she runs her own business and can escape thrilling chases by jumping off cliffs.
On the other side of it once she meets her ‘Alphas’ sex becomes a solution to everything and in an effort to create a real and deep relationship it becomes the opposite. In my eyes she just seems to lose who she is, even her bonding with Nero and the others with food doesn’t feel substantial. Especially as two of her men were calling her by the wrong version of her name for a lot of the book- why?
She was never fully fleshed out to begin with and it doesn’t help that the villain and plot are predictable but I just have this feeling that if this idea was worked through more it would have been a really awesome book. Otherwise this book just wasn’t for me.
Hopefully the next one, a hardened street thief Aladdin tale provides a stronger set of characters and, well, general book.
But I don’t recommend this one. -
The description makes it sound a little different than it ends up going. The world-building is semi-basic, but that doesn't deter from the story. The main character is a fun and bubbly sort - I liked her inner strength but her genuine sweeteness - when she accidentally ends up over the property line while escaping for her life (and wolfbane!) The romance interest was just so-so, it seemed force and the sex scenes were way too unrealistic, numerous, too many, and the dialogue with some of it = shudders. It's more of a RH Erotica than a romance or UF, which isn't something I care for. The writing style is fine but the pacing stops due to repetitiveness and overdone, emotionless "romance".

4 Stars / 4 Steam Fans
Hunted is a retelling and reimagining of Red Riding Hood with witches and shifters. The relationship is between one female and three alpha male wolves.

This started off very rocky for me, got better but too late to win my love...
This started off very rocky for me, got better but too late to win my love...
I started out open to what ever came but was quickly turned off by Scarlets bestie ( that for me feels soo tired at times it feels cliche) you know that bff that can be the heroines best female friend or I’d a gay is usually gay( had a book recently where her bestie was a straight guy) ( loved seeing that!!!! Not something you normally see) sadly the story to go w/it wasn’t that great ) anyway, the bestie who has NO filter soo to speak , mind usually in the gutter 9/10’s of the time, who seems to live to embarrass said friend and pushing into odd situations where you wonder if common sense and said friend have ever met ?
Their heart is usually in the right place but their head ? You often where it is...
Anyway, Bee Scarlets bff rubbed wrong from the get go,do e might find characters like her “fun” but I just wasn’t in the mood for her,soo I’ll be honest I skimmed most of the 1st chapter but then I was on it as Scarlet went into the forest looking for herbs ( btw for a realm not our own it felt soo much like a contemporary romance from their language and ideas and mannerisms) even a star rating system on local businesses) anyway she she gos looking for her herbs she sees the hugely evil beyotch in charge of her area m well being evil and e do up running for her life...
She runs from wolves that have been made sick, ends up in the river and running from more til finally she ends up trapped and captured by the 3 H’s who will later become her makes and injures one with some wolfsbane she was collecting for Bee before he’s taken to a cabin by them ...
Now I was fine and all with her til some time after she awakens in the cabin, after she awakens she goes thru a period where she’s this crazed kinda nympho who acts very inappropriately at times and for a while all the book seems to be is about sex and there’s where it really love me... any connection was broken when Nero ( one of the wolves) acts kinda d baggish with her and all she can think is wanting to jump his bones,he takes her to try and help the wolf she injured and she’s still soo supposedly aroused from Nero she can’t seem to help but be obsessed w/this other guys “ junk” and even when she’s putting things on him to try and get the wolfsbane out his system she keeps finding excuses to touch and examine his “package “ even though it HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRYING TO HEAL HIM....
Her being kinda pervy with him started to turn me off then when she’s back with Nero and after calmly discussing the best ways to make a good soup ( really?) she mates with him, knowing it’s for life, checks on the other guy again , still kinda pervy I believe and ends acting rather TSTL and chasing off after Oryn another H, and after almost getting herself and him killed by the sick wolves age later mates him in a cave where they spend the night...
Now after she is rejected ( rather brutally) by Dagen the 3rd wolf , ( whoever after taking two wolf shifters in two days as mates what we’re told is only a 19 year old girl is very horny and eager to add #3 to her new mix) things finally cool down some and despite or maybe because of it Scarlet finally starts to calm down and get some sense and stops acting like a crazed nympho in heat...
Then it feels like more of a real story again and not just a lame mindless sex fest.....
Sadly it had killed my real interest by then, while I love a good sex scene or 2 or 3 in a book, I want a build up to it not rushed like this was and the h soo seemingly mindless all she wants is sex and sex now w/no real thoughts given... especially after bare,y knowing the male less than a few hours ..
Anyway after that it’s then about saving the other wolves and getting past, their hurts and healing from the past that while a touch more depth in to the motives and such behind the EVIL priestess would have been great, you know besides she. Is. Evil! And must die!
It finished a 100% stronger than it started...
The ideas and the concept was really good in my humble opinion but sighs, the crazed Scarlet gotta have it ! Phase where she seemed to just be this pervy mindless sex nympho killed what could have been a wonderful 4 Star book for me..
But I’m grateful they are KU soo when the mood strikes I will try again , because as many reviews ave said about MANY RH’s, “a good RH is hard to find “ , while true about soo many things I’ve found it especially true w/RH’s.... -
Now that’s sexy 5 MAGICAL HANDS
Enjoying the show? The best sight in the world. You’re so beautifully delicious. Little lamb, I will devour you and you’ll beg for more. Is that a threat or promise? Holy shiitake mushrooms!! Talk about one Freakin’ hell-arious book and one ABSO-HAVEN-LUTELY magical start to the series! Take one prude healer, two best friends, three HOT Wolves, add in a bushel of humor & hilarious quips, a scoop of potential & real danger, a triple pack of lust, a pinch of betrayal, secrets, surprises and lots of magical deliciousness, blend perfectly together and then you have a hint at what to expect in this book! Of course that still doesn't do it justice!! Between the thoughts & conversations between Scarlet and Bee at the start, I was laughing so hard I had tears! Then there is the jaw-dropping shock, fright & surprises in the Forest that had me all tensed up! Oh! And how can I NOT mention the smokin' hot, Hot, HOT Wolves that melted my panties! This book has all of my favorite aspects, features, parts & pieces that I love, Love, LOVE from Fairy Tales, HOT Wolf Shifter stories and naughty romance books in general, that I found myself so enchanted right from the very beginning, I didn't - COULDN'T! - stop reading until I reached the exceptionally Happy Furever After ending! YUP! I read this in one sitting! With her tremendously enriched & captivating storytelling, Mila Young has completely blown me away with her debut release! I wholeheartedly love & adore absolutely everything about this book! -
This is the first book that I have read by this author as well as the first book in the Haven Realm series. I have just recently become a huge fan of the reverse harem genre and this book made everything smooth sailing for the relationships. I also liked how it was not a straight jump into the sack like some of the books have been lately. This is the first RH that I have read though that has been written in a fairytale retelling and I can not wait to see what the author does with the rest of the "realms" that are spoken of throughout the book. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book

DNF 58%
I liked this book, despite DNFing it. There were some parts of this story that I really enjoyed and other parts that just fell flat for me. After a while I got to the point where I just didn’t care anymore what was happening to the characters or the story and it was becoming a chore to pick back up again so I just decided to stop. I can see how other people enjoyed this book but I’m just gonna have to back away for now. -
When Scarlet is held by 3 alpha wolves everything she’s been led to believe about shifters as well as her life is thrown into doubt.
A fun and enjoyable read with the red riding hood fairytale vibe. -
What can I say there were good moments and poor moments. In places this was cheesy and I feel the end was a little rushed. The take on the fairy tale was good. I enjoyed the fight at the end and how it turns out she's half shifter herself.
-
Note: I read this book through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I loved the plot, though it felt a bit rushed. I think the characters could have been more developed. The steamy scenes were pretty good!
Biggest complaint is that it needs to be proofread. There were many wrong words like using dear for the animal deer & misspellings like instalment. Good news, I was able to ignore the editing mistakes and enjoy the story. -
Swoon
Love this retelling! And how she was able to save the poisoned wolves and find a way to be with all her guys. -
Kindle Unlimited.
Nope. -
Great shifter read. Liked the world building. Plenty of action in and out of the sheets. Lovely ending.

Interesting read. It wasn't as saucy as I thought it could be but it was still good.
Would I read again?: Yes
Would I read this author again?: Yes -
This book is really good. I love that each of the books are standalone so you get the whole story in one book with no cliff-hangers and a happily ever after. Plus in book 2 we get to hear about Bee’s story which I’m super excited about because I love me some dirty minded chicks 😀 I would definitely recommend this book series as it has all the needed elements. Lovable characters, action, swoon, and a hell of a lot of steam.

*Reread Review* - 3 stars!
My last review is lacking for sure. While these are really short books and things are kind of rushed through, there is definitely something to be said about not dragging things out. There was no time to be bored by any means. Yes the world and characters lack a little in the depth category but honestly, Kudos to the author for being able to convey everything quick fast and in a hurry. The scenes are super easy to picture, the characters are super easy to love, and the author is able to convey chemistry really well even in the short amount of time we get. I will say everything is a "bit" convenient but when are fairy tales not, honestly.
This is an RH retelling of Red Riding Hood, starring Scarlet and 3 delicious wolves. Scarlet, while out on a trip to gather herbs for a friend, gets caught up in some serious plotting by the "evil queen." While running for her life, she stumbles onto a pack of wolves made feral and injures one of the wolves attempting to help her. Now its up to Scarlet to save the wolf as well as uncover what has made the wolves go feral in the first place.. and in doing so Scarlet exposes a whole new side of herself.
The book was short, entertaining, and a little cheesy. But I like my cheese every now and then lol. Looking forward to Bee's story though. Sounds interesting.
*Old Review*
2.5 stars. The storyline was good but felt a little rushed. I like the retelling of fairy tales it’s always fun to see a different perspective.
