They call him the Anaconda, and I'm pretty sure it isn’t because he likes snakes.

Nick Jenson is my neighbor. My hot, oh-so-sexy, very-well-equipped neighbor that I’d spend hours watching from the safety of my bedroom window.

I saw lots of things I probably shouldn’t have. Sometimes I’d touch myself, imagining it were his hands roaming over my body instead of my own. I had just one mission—to find out if the rumors were true.

Then one day, he caught me watching him.

I was mortified. I was prepared to quit college, move to another country, and live the rest of my life saying, “Nick who?” But, apparently, life had other ideas.

Because Nick? Well, he isn’t just my neighbor … He’s also my father’s best friend. If I thought things were difficult before, they were about to get a whole lot more complicated.

Oh, and those rumors? Holy fuck, were they true …

It's Complicated (Awkward Love, #1) Reviews

    *****FOUR STARS*****
    {ARC Generously Provided by Author}

IT’S COMPLICATED is a super fun and steamy tale of forbidden romance between a young woman and her father’s best friend. There’s very little angst and definitely a case of insta-love between the main characters but still, I enjoyed this guilty pleasure of a read.

From the beginning of the story, I knew that it was going to deliver on the steam but that the plot would be a little silly and predictable and even so, I honestly can’t lie—I thoroughly enjoyed the book and breezed through it pretty quickly. We learn that Anna’s next door neighbor Nick, who also happens to be her father’s best friend, has a penis the size of an anaconda according to the town gossip. Nick’s wife died a few years ago and he’s just recently been dating again. Anna overhears a conversation about Nick’s well-endowed penis while at her University’s library and that night she gets an eyeful of it when she turns into a peeping pervert, watching him undress from her bedroom window. Anna had always thought of Nick as an attractive man but until that night she had never had any dirty fantasies about him. She ends up getting caught peeping later that same week and Nick is a little shocked and horrified to find out that he’s turned on by his beautiful twenty-two-year-old neighbor who used to babysit his kids when she was seventeen.

Nick and Anna start to play sexy games with each other by performing stripteases in front of their bedroom windows knowing that they each are getting a good look at each other's naughty bits. When Anna’s dad asks her to go and help Nick out with his kids so that he can get some alone time, he had no idea that he would be pushing the two in each other’s arms. Things heat up pretty quickly between Nick and Anna and there are many times where the hot sex has nearly fried their brains because they take some crazy risks to be together knowing that Anna’s father will burst a blood vessel in his brain if he were to find out what’s been going on between them.

It’s inevitable that their secret is going to get out because they can’t seem to keep their libidos in check and when Anna and Nick realize that what they feel for each other is more than just physical desire it will only be a matter of time before they have to face the repercussions of their actions. Will their loved ones wind up being accepting of their relationship?

Here are my overall ratings on the book:

    Hero: 4
    Heroine: 4
    Plot: 3.5
    Angst:3
    Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 4.5

”IT’S COMPLICATED” is releasing on December 13th. If you like forbidden romances with the father’s best friend and enjoy guilty pleasure reads, then you may want to give this one a try.

Anna and Nick are destined to have a complicated relationship:
    1. They have 15 years age difference
    2. Nick is a single dad of two adorable children– newly widower
    3. Anna used to babysit their children when they were going out, so the children know her as a nanny
    4. Nick is Anna’s father’s best friend
    5. Anna’s father is not really understanding – although he acts completely immaturely himself
    6. Nick has a big package/anaconda (hmm, yes this is exactly what you imagine it is) and Anna is scared of it
    7. Everyone knows about Nick's anaconda

This is a really interesting combination of things. If you also add to these the Anna’s brainless best friend, the result is a hilarious story.
Lots of goofy moments and mix-ups while they are trying to hide their relationship.
Many hot moments until Anna finally faces anaconda.

I would have liked it more, if the book stopped in the funny side of things and everyone was laughing and were silly.
Unfortunately there was a boat trip (with all the characters taking part) which came across as more angsty and stressful than funny. And there was also a rape attempt that I think it was just too much for a romance-comedy book.

This is a first for me, others I've read by this author I have LOVED but this one just wasn't for me, I just couldn't connect with the story, or the characters and found myself skimming parts and squirming in others where it just came across to unrealistic which made for uncomfortable reading, keep in mind this is just my opinion others have really enjoyed this

descriptionI usually LOVE this author's books but this one was just OK for me. I found the whole penis size and having to get stitches a bit silly. Also, the plot felt underdeveloped (especially the whole stalker thing that just came out of left field). On top of that, I HATED the heroines father and the OTT violent way he acted. There were just a lot of little annoyances overall that added up to making this one just an OK read for me.

    description

That said, I did love both the main characters. There wasn't any angst or OW/OM drama. The sex scenes were fairly hot, and I loved Anna's BFF. So it wasn't all bad. Just not this author's best work (IMO). Still, I am on board and looking forward to seeing what this author has up her sleeve with the next book in this series. This one gets a thumbs up from yours truly.description

I love any kind of taboo romance so when I saw the "He's also my father's best friend" line in the blurb it made me sit up and take notice. I loved that forbidden part of the story thrown in and it took this book from just a hot story to something better with those stolen moments between Anna and Nick when no one was watching.

So let's talk about the snake in the room for a second...Nick's giant dick. This could have easily gotten ridiculous with the "oh no his penis is just so large" thing but it actually never did. There were times it made me chuckle and times that it had me wanting some photo evidence of just how real it was (unashamed perv here). I really liked how it was all handled, no pun intended, and that the author still managed to keep it classy and not over the top.

And through all of the cock rumors Anna and Nick still had an amazing chemistry between them and I really liked getting to see them together. I felt like they just worked together very well and as a couple I adored both of them. I was rooting for their relationship from the beginning while also peaking out my window wondering when my hot and hung neighbor was going to move in.

Bottom line, don't be afraid of the dick and read this book!

Every once in a while we all crave that no apology, laugh out loud, cringe worthy story and It's Complicated gave you enough of that forbidden aspect to leave you wanting a bit more. Falling for your father’s best friend who also happens to be your next door neighbor? I was practically salivating at the unique ways they were going to hook up!!

Being a widower and raising two young kids is not the easiest thing in the world. Getting back out on the dating scene however, is full blown torture and for someone like Nick Jenson, getting a full body exam is better than that. Blessed with having a big *coughs package, finding the right woman who can not only handle his anaconda but his personal life as well, is proving to be difficult. That is until he realizes he has a little admirer and she wants a taste.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After eavesdropping on a very important and cringe worthy conversation regarding her neighbor, Anna makes it a point to see if the rumors about her dad's sexy best friend is true. What better way to find out than to turn into a peeping tom and get the full view herself? But one glance at his anatomy will cause her to have a mini stroke because it can’t possibly be that damn big can it?!!! Unfortunately for her, it is and so the cat and mouse games begin. Wanting something you KNOW you can't have, never looked so good.

This story was silly and humorous in every sense of the word but I enjoyed it for the most part. I giggled inappropriately , snorted at the most outrageous things and cringed my ass off with certain scenes. I now flinch when I hear paper being ripped so thanks for that one! But In all honesty, If you’re looking for a funny laugh out loud forbidden romance, then this is one is most definitely for you and can’t wait to see what this author is going to do with the next book in the series.

3.5 "Ooh, it's so BIG!!" stars

What is it about stories about anacondas that I love so much? Yeah, I’m not talking about the snakes, people!! That anaconda was what drew me to the story but what developed between the characters is what kept me engrossed in this book.

Anna has heard ALL of the rumors. Her next-door neighbor Nick is packing more than salami in his pants. Then Anna witnesses it for herself when she spies him out of her window. But she can’t be thinking like this about Nick of all people, right? He’s not only the widowed single father of two, he’s her father’s best friend. What happens when her interest in him is finally reciprocated?

There wasn’t much plot beyond the lust-driven moments between Nick and Anna and that was fine with me. However, there was an added element of drama/suspense towards the end which I found unnecessary but I’m sure other readers will be entertained by it. Anna was awkward as all get out and Nick was self-confidence personified and somehow they worked. The overall focus was on Nick’s package and I’m glad the author didn’t deviate much from that. While this story wasn’t moving or thought-provoking, it was a win for me due to its simplicity.

“Are you ready?” I ask her.
My heart races. She nods, her expression serious and determined. We sit on my bed in the darkness, staring at each other, waiting for his light to click on. The look on her face is priceless. It’s like we’re waiting on the sidelines for the signal to enter the war zone.
“Ready as I’m going to be,” she replies, taking a deep breath.
“Wait,” I say, holding up my hand. Kayla stares at me in anticipation. “Wine. We need wine.”
I race back down to the kitchen and grab two glasses and carry them back. Kayla has moved off the bed and is going through my dresser. She glances at me and rolls her eyes.
“Hoarder, much? You keep fucking everything,” she mutters. She shakes her head and examines an old movie stub that I had stashed in a drawer. I walk over and snatch it from her.
“This was the only movie my mother ever took me to,” I explain.
“Oh.” She winces. “Shit, sorry.” She hesitates for a moment before sitting back down on the bed. “I thought she left when you were born?”
“She did,” I nod. “She and my dad decided to give things another go when she moved back from London. It lasted about three weeks,” I say, forcing a laugh. “She said it was too much and motherhood wasn’t her thing. So, she went back, and I haven’t seen her since. That was when I was five.”
“Harsh,” she mutters. We’re both distracted by a sudden flash of light. We look over and see the light in Nick’s room is on. My heart races. I turn back to Kayla, who is grinning at me like an idiot.
“You’re about to see something you can’t unsee,” I say with a grin. “You might think you’re ready for this, but trust me, you’re not.”
“Will you stop it?” she grumbles, shoving me off the bed. I laugh as I fall on a heap on the floor. I creep over to the window, Kayla hot on my ass. “Why am I nervous? My stomach is churning,” she says, shaking her head.
“Because this is creepy,” I exclaim. “We’re sitting on my bed, in the dark, waiting for my hot neighbor to get undressed. If we were dudes, we’d be thrown in prison for this,” I add.
“Technically, we’re now crouched beneath your window, but I get your point,” She laughs. “But who cares? If we were dudes, they’d make a movie about this,” she retorts. She strains her neck to look through the window and squeals. “I think he’s coming.”
“Wow, that usually doesn’t happen till after his shower,” I quip, poking my tongue out at her.
I glance over and see that she’s right. Nick enters his room, unbuttoning his shirt as he walks. He shrugs it off, placing it neatly over the end of his bed. I swear I can hear Kayla salivating at the sight of his smooth, tanned chest. Hell, who am I kidding? I’m just as worked up. Maybe more so, because I know what’s coming.
“God, I’m tingling already,” Kayla mutters, a dreamy expression on her face. “Look at that chest,” she sighs. “I heard from my neighbor that Mindy Henderson’s mother ended up in hospital for a week with a split vagina because of his dick.” I snort because she speaks so matter-of-factly. She raises her eyebrows at me. “True story.”
“Bullshit. It was a few stiches, and she was out the same day,” I murmur, craning my neck to get a better view. “Don’t believe everything you hear.”
“They were right about the size of his package, weren’t they?” she points out.
    No. They underestimated it.
Her attention turns back to Nick when she realizes he’s unbuckling his belt. I hold my breath and watch as he slides it free from his lean waist. Next, he unbuttons his pants, lowering the zip slowly and deliberately, like he knows that he’s being watched. I can barely take the anticipation that is building up in my chest as he slides his pants lower…and lower…until…
“Holy shit! Fuck me with a stick! How could any woman handle that?” Kayla growls, shaking her head. “What did you say his wife died of? Cancer, or a big fat cock?”
“Kayla!” I snort, gasping as soda shoots out of my nose. I turn around and sit back down in shock. She did not just say that.
“What?” she asks innocently. “Don’t tell me you weren’t thinking the same thing.” She glances down at me and shakes her head. “Why are you down there and not up here, watching this?” she asks like I’m insane.
“Because your insensitivity knocked me over,” I mutter, cringing as I replayed her words in my head. She grabs my arm, pulling it hard. Reluctantly, I get back up on my knees and peer out the side of the window.
Kayla groans. “This is fucking incredible, Anna. Look, he’s stroking it. God, what I wouldn’t do to feel that thing slide between my legs. I wonder what he tastes like. Though I’d struggle to close my lips around that, I think. Brings new meaning to the phrase, ‘more than a mouthful’, huh?”
“Kayla,” I groan, burying my face in my hands. Tears are streaming down my cheeks, I’m laughing so hard. I look up again, just in time to see him slide his hand along his shaft, before flicking the light off. I sigh, disappointed that he’s done.
“Aww, that’s it? I feel ripped off. Where’s the encore? I think I’m gonna write a letter of complaint.”
“You’re not a paying customer, Kales. Give the guy a break. It must be tiring lugging that thing around all day,” I joke.
I sit back on my heels, still watching him as he moves around to the other side of his bed. Then he walks back over to the window and glances out. My heart stops because I swear his eyes meet mine. It’s only for a second, but long enough for me to completely lose my shit.
“Fuck!” I gasp, my heart thudding in my chest.
“What? Oh!” Kayla cries as I yank her by the hand.
We scramble to the floor as though a bomb had just been detonated, collapsing onto our stomachs. Somehow, my bracelet catches on the curtains, bringing them down with me. My arms flailing, I fight my way out from under what feels like a mountain of netting, gasping. I am so mortified. I can’t even think about what just happened without wanting to pass out.
“Anna, what the fuck?” hisses Kayla. “Are you trying to get us caught?”
My heart pounds as I blink back tears. If that were my intention, then I’m pretty sure I just managed it. What am I going to do? It's obvious that someone was watching, and I know for a fact that he knows exactly which room is mine.
“Fuck,” I curse. I’m panicked and not sure what to do. Do I confront this or just pretend it never happened? Pretending it never happened is looking pretty damn good. Kayla puts her hand on my leg, trying to calm me down.
“It’s okay, Banana,” she says, using her nickname for me. “I’m sure he didn't see us.”
“It's my room, Kayla,” I growl, my cheeks hot with embarrassment. “Who the fuck is he going to think was perving on him? My father?”
Kayla giggles, her eyes sparkling. “That’s putting a kind of fucked-up image in my head.”
“Kayla,” I growl, almost in tears.
She winces and nods, going back to soothing me. I hate that she can still find this funny. She gets to go home, knowing he has no reason to suspect that she was involved. This was a disaster. I was never going to be able to face him again. I might as well pack up and move to another country.
“Calm down, Anna,” Kayla sighs as if I’m being melodramatic. “Maybe you could work this in your favor?”
“Really?” I snap sarcastically. “And how do you propose that?”
I stop listening because nothing she says from this point is going to change the fact that I’m fucked. And without all the benefits of actually being fucked.
“You better go,” I mumble. I rub the sides of my head and try to think of what to do.
“Go?” she laughs. “Why don’t I just go and bang on the guy’s door and announce that we were perving on him? Me leaving right after the fact is a tiny bit obvious.”
    She has a point.
“Fine.” I toss a pillow on the floor and lie down. “You can take my bed.”
“Uh, Anna? Should we put the curtain back up?”
I frown in the darkness. I don’t know what to do. At this point, I don’t think anything is going to make things worse. There is no way out of this mess short of relocating and changing my name. Which suddenly isn’t sounding like such a bad option.
Because the other thing I forgot to mention?
Nick isn’t just my neighbor. He’s also my dad’s best friend.

    Pretty good!

Pretty good older neighbor/fathers best friend romance. The heroine is awkward, and the hero is a widow with a huge... anaconda...

It’s pretty cliche, but if you’re looking for a taboo fathers best friend read that’s more funny than angsty, then this is a good one.

  • Jo - •.★Reading Is My Bliss★.•

Anna has a hot neighbour. His name is Nick and he is a widowed father of two gorgeous kids that Anna has known since they were born. Nick is gossiped about among the single women in town because they nick named him ‘anaconda’ – the guy his hung like a horse!

Fortuitously for Anna, her bedroom window is opposite Nick’s and one night she sees the ‘anaconda’ in the flesh, which then begins her regular perving at him late at night. Oh I should mention that Anna lives with her dad and that Nick is his best friend.

After Anna’s father volunteers her to help Nick out with his kids and household they find themselves spending more time together. The flirtation between them reaches a the point of no return and they find themselves in a passionate ‘affair’ of sorts. Well it’s not really an affair but a kind of ‘forbidden’ relationship. As in, her father would go ballistic at both of them if he found out.

Okay there is an age gap but it’s not too big and the connection they have not just with each other but Anna is fantastic with kids, is pretty incredible. There is definitely the thrill of being caught out that adds to the excitement of this new thing between them. Until they get caught out….

The blurb of this story drew me into the pages and I’m so glad I took a chance on this book. A fantastic weekend read. This is the first in a series of short stand alones from this author.

It’s Complicated by Missy Johnson is the first book in a new series. It's a funny short story with a little dose of drama. The only thing over the top was Nick's package. I wonder how he was able to hide that thing in his pants. Honestly, the story was good and funny. I never tried to take this story very seriously and that worked for me. The age gap wasn't a problem because Nick is in his late 30's and Anna in her early 20's. The age gap could have been so much bigger. It was a good book and I got invested in the characters for some reason. I will read more books by this author. I liked this story and I plan to read more. The romance between the main characters is good and we got to see Nick's kids which was good.

Haven't read (listened) to much age gap romances but this was a good beginning. The romance was entertaining enough to listen to and it was pretty funny. This book wasn't my favourite but I might read more from this author in the future

    ARC Honest Review

Quick fun read, characters were relatable, it was nice to read about an “older” couple for a change instead of all the high school age series. Plus I’m always a sucker for a good inner thought dialog like Anna’s.

  • Jamie Campbell

I hold my breath when he reappears a few minutes later, wearing only a towel casually draped over the lower half of his body. His skin glistens, still slightly wet from the obvious shower, his muscles twitching as he moves. My stomach churns. It’s like I know something big is about to happen, but I’m not sure what. It’s the same feeling you get when your team comes from nowhere at the very last second to score the winning goal. I tense, biting my lip as his fingers unravel the edge of the towel. When he flicks it off and turns around to face the window, I lower my gaze and…
    Oh. My. God.
Holy fucking crap. Sweet motherfucking Jesus.
That is one huge dick. God, I didn’t think they made them that big.

It’s big, Kayla. Trust me. I have enough experience with what comfortably fits inside my vagina to know a big dick when I see one.” I cringe at how that came out like I have an array of items entering my vagina.
Thank God, Dad is out tonight.
“So, are we talking a carrot or a squash?” she teases. “Because I’m guessing that’s where you’re experience lies.”
“If a carrot were fifteen inches long and as thick as my arm, then yes, a carrot would be comparable,” I snap. “Forget I called you,” I mutter, hating the sound of her high-pitched giggle.

Just like every other time, he walks over to the window. Only this time he stands there, deliberately staring directly into my room. My heart thumps as he slowly unbuttons his shirt and peels it from his muscular chest. Holy mother of God. I clasp my hands together, shaking like a leaf.
I have to sit down on the bed to stop myself collapsing. He stands in front of the window, semi-naked, his hands creeping down toward his belt. I can barely breathe as he unbuckles it, and then gently lowers his zip. He shrugs his pants down and kicks them aside.

“Anna, have you seen my—” The door swings open. “Fuck,” Dad growls.
Panicked, I sit upright and glare at him, my eyes wide. “Dad, you can’t just walk in here like that,” I gasped, rushing to cover myself up. “What if I was doing something you weren’t supposed to see?”
“You mean like fucking my best friend?” he roars. Oh, shit. I glance next to me and glare at Nick, who is just waking up. He sees Dan, and his eyes widen. He jumps up.
“Jesus fucking Christ, put some pants on before you injure someone with that thing,” Dad growls, looking away

The hero is a single dad with 2 children. The heroine used to babysit his children when he was married. She was the nanny.

The hero is also her father’s best friend and they have a 15 years age difference.

    Nope, not my cuppa.

This is the first book that I have read of Missy Johnson and I loved it. It was funny it some parts of the book. The characters you love from the start.

Anna is one of the main characters and she is smart, kind, caring and very good-looking. She is 22 years old and lives with her father, her mother is no longer in the picture as she left when she was a baby but came back when she was 5 years old but soon realised that parenthood wasn’t for her. She has never known what its like to have a mother it has just been her and her dad, she has been fine with that until he started to date. She feels like her dad is never there for her. One day when she is the library listening to gossip about her next door neighbour and she is shocked with what she has heard but she wants to find out its true, later that night she finds out the true.

Nick is thirty-eight years old a widower of two children who are 10 and 8 years old. He lost his wife to concerto years ago and hasn’t been on a date since then so when he started to go out on dates it was women who just wanted to have a great time with him and nothing else because Nick is a tall, smart, gorgeous guy who would love to find a person to date.

Anna and Nick become friends and they have a routine with Nicks kids and also at night through each others windows but one night changes everything for the better. Nick can’t stop himself when Anna kisses him and he doesn’t want to because it feels so right. The only thing that is going on in the back of his mind is the fact that she is his best friends daughter. Their relationship is going great until they decide to go away together and her dad invites himself along. You know that will in end badly.

I recommend you read this book as it is funny, exciting and sexy all at the same time. I hope that you like this book as much as I did. Enjoy!

A quick and spicy read from Missy Johnson, releasing on December 13th.

While this isn't my favourite MJ read to date, overall it's not a bad story. My issues (if you want to go as far as calling them that) more so had to deal with what I felt was a lack of any significant plot. Granted, I know it can be extremely difficult to try and fit everything you need into a novella, but I had hoped for something a little more substantial. I think others would do better with this if going in with the mindset of quick, fun and hot.

I've also been on a roll lately reading slow burn, loooong books, so timing could also be an issue on my end.

All in all, a fun, perhaps predictable read, but a good one nonetheless. Anna is a 22 year old college student and Nick is a single dad, 37 years old and living in the house next door. Yes there's an age gap, but both characters are adults and completely able to consent with no issues. And yeah, enjoy the heat level ladies, ;). There is a reason why they call Nick Anaconda.

*An ARC was received in exchange for an honest review.

I have heard amazing things about this author and have an ARC waiting on me for a book in this series, so I had to get my butt in gear.

The story started off good, I really liked Anna and Nick. But as the story went on it just fell off the rails for me. I think that they could have made one or two refernces about penis size, but stitches, really? Seemed a bit silly. Anna father was awful and completely over the top and not in an entertaining way. He was quite immature and just truly unlikable. All in all this story had potential, but just fell short for me, I will be reading the rest of the series and I will definitely read more by this author!

This book was a good quick read that is defiantly a taboo relationship.

Anna is a college student that still lives at home with her dad. However, when at the library she hears two other women talking about her neighbor, Nick Jenson. Well, after hearing them she has to know does he really have an anaconda in his pants. She will soon find out because her bedroom window is right across from his and he gives her a show without even knowing he is doing so. What happens if he catches her and will anything come from being caught?

Missy Johnson really knows how to write taboo relationships because I have read many and this one drew me in from the beginning and had me reading until the very end. She was able to show that no matter what that a relationship between a couple and even best-friends can survive differences. I will say that I cannot wait to see what other books she will be writing for this series.

**I had the pleasure of reading an ARC**

    description
It's Complicated by Missy Johnson was a decent read.

The story is about the taboo relationship between Anna and her next door neighbor Nick who is also her dad's best friend. I love the whole older man/younger woman forbidden storyline but this one felt a little generic. It was a hot sexy read but at times it came off stale and nothing popped out at me.

I did love the foreplay between this couple. A couple of voyeuristic scenes that were sizzling and deepen the sexual chemistry between Anna and Nick. And the sexy times were steamy. Anna's father was over the top at times considering she was of age and had a life of her own.

Even though this book didn't wow me, I would still love to read more from Missy Johnson.

Anna and Nick are neighbors. Nick is a widower with 2 young kids. Anna is a college student, and she is attracted to Nick. They fight the attraction but it becomes futile, and they become involved. The story is sweet and loving with some twists but so worth reading.

It's a complicated story alright! A single dad falling in love with a younger woman who happens to be your best friend's daughter.

But the author was able to uncomplicate things the way she wrote each scene. It's well- written... fast-moving... hilarious, generously provided by our heroine, Anna... and the romantic, sexy scene between Nick and Anna was just oozing with hotness.

It was another fantastic read from Ms. Johnson and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I received an ARC of It's Complicated by Missy Johnson in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say that It's Complicated by Missy Johnson was a great read. I really loved the chemistry between Nick and Anna. I enjoyed their hot moments the most. Both Nick and Anna were well-developed characters. The beginning of their attraction was so funny. Let's just say Anna could be a little clumsy at times which made her an endearing person. Not to mention, she had a terrible habit of saying embarrassing things without much consideration.

Readers, if you're looking for a story that's well-written and fast-paced, then you should certainly give It's Complicated by Missy Johnson a chance. You won't regret it. I thoroughly loved the forbidden aspect of the book. I liked the fact that Nick was older than Anna, that he was Anna's dad best friend and that he lived next door to them, and that he was a single parent. Readers, if you don't have any objections to all the things I mentioned, then that's a clear sign that It's complicated by Missy Johnson is even more perfect for you.

It's Complicated by Missy Johnson gets a four star rating🌟🌟🌟🌟! The fall out to Nick and Anna's relationship was handled perfectly and realistically. I admired how much time and effort Miss. Johnson dished out to capture those intense moments. I loved it a lot.

Nick is a man who is finally trying to get back into the dating scene after his wife died two years ago. He has had a few dates, but the women he has dated are only interested in one thing. He is looking for something more long term so that his two young children can have a mother figure in their lives again.

Anna a young woman studying Architecture in college, lives next door to Nick with her father, Nick’s best friend as well. She hears the rumors about Nick’s package and she wants to know if they are true. Her father pushes her to go over and help him out with the kids daily and help him with his house as well. She isn’t so sure it’s a good idea, but her father tells her she needs to quit studying so much, so she agrees.

When her father finds out that she is helping Nick out more than he was expecting, he gets very angry with them both.

I enjoyed this book and was pulling for Nick and Anna. the characters are likable and fun to get to know. I give this book a 4.5 star rating.

It’s complicated ... it sure is!!!

If your looking for a quick read filled with awkward and humorous moments, then your going to love It’s Complicated.

When your crushing on your fathers best friend, what would you do if you had the chance to take it beyond the crush stage?

Johnson has enabled us to see what can happen when this occurs and she has done a brilliant job.

The main characters are all written beautifully, you are able to get a clear description, and follow the story effortlessly.

And unlike a lot of stories, with similar predicaments, this one has a happy ending.

It’s complicated, is book one of the Awkward Love series. And what makes this series even better is the fact all books will be standalone’s, so you don’t have to wait for the next book for a conclusion, cliffhangers are not a problem either.

I can’t wait for I CAN EXPLAIN, number two in the Awkward Love series which is to released in Jan!!!

New Missy Johnson fan right here!!

Sometimes a low angst, fun and sexy read is just what you need for that quick escape from reality. It's Complicated fits that bill perfectly. This romance has a bit of the taboo of Dad's best friend while Nick isn't old enough to be a silver fox, there is a significant age difference for a little of the older man/younger woman trope as an added bonus. Nick and Anna do have good chemistry and they are both likable characters that you genuinely want to root for. A few things in the story were a little over the top and could've made this one downright hilarious, but it still works for this one and there was some witty dialogue and chuckle worthy moments, making for a lighthearted, leave you with a smile read.
