As heard by kids everywhere on the Echo Dot Kids Edition, the Classroom 13 books are a hilarious new chapter book series-perfect for reluctant readers and fans of Roald Dahl, Captain Underpants, and Sideways Stories from Wayside School.

The Happy and Heinous Halloween of Classroom 13 is the fifth title in a series about the students of a very unlucky classroom. The easy-to-read chapters are full of humor, action, secret codes, and fun-and will prompt hours of conversation among friends, families, and classmates. The final chapter encourages young readers to write their own chapter and send it in to the author, Honest Lee.

It's Halloween in the 13th Classroom-what could go wrong? Well, for starters, all of the students could magically turn into their COSTUMES!

You might think this was hilarious, but it was horrible. With tricky transformations come wild werewolves, voracious vampires, zany zombies, and other moody monsters. As the students of Classroom 13 are about to learn, Halloween's treats are sometimes tricks.

Classroom 13 is finally getting its revenge in this halloweentastic hilarious book!

Now I got to wait for a bit longer as I am all through the books I got. I just LOVE this series so much and I am happy I discovered it. I am glad I picked up those two Dutch translated books of this series.

Remember how in each of the books the Classroom swore to have his revenge? Well, in this one that happens! In a wonderful and delightful way that had me laughing. How does he get his revenge? Well, it is time for Halloween in the world of Classroom 13 and everyone is dressed up (oh Emma, why did you have to go as that?), there is candy on the desk of their teacher. Yum yum... and then, POOF you are your costume, which has many people probably wishing for a better costume. I mean a hotdog? A toilet roll? I think that some people will be thinking more carefully about their costume next Halloween. I would recommend it, just in case this happens again. :P

I loved that while we did get to see everyone's POV we also saw what happened in the classroom itself and we saw two characters who had to save the day. It made the story come more together and made it feel together than the other books. Don't get me wrong, I loved how it was done in the other stories, and in those we at times also saw what happened elsewhere, it is just great fun to give each character a chance to shine. But in this one it just fits better to also have two characters stand out. Someone has to save the day.

The chaos in the classroom was just fabulous and I had a lot of fun seeing the kids change into their costumes. Someone who dressed as a wolf really became a wolf, someone dressed as a cowboy became a cowboy inclusive the accent and the excellent lasso skills.

I loved the ending and what happened there. That is a perfect plan, and I am delighted to see how Classroom 13 reacted and what happened next. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series and seeing that person again.

Again the illustrations are just fabulous and tons of fun. They make everything even more fun and even sillier.

All in all, recommended. Perfect for Halloween so I am looking forward to doing a re-read of this book then.

Classroom 13 has always been a little bizarre. The classroom has a mind of its own.
Out of jealousy for not being invited to the Halloween Costume Party, the classroom puts out a bowl of cursed candy.
When the teacher Miss Linda turns into Red Riding Hood, things begin to get weird.
From Pirates to Ninjas, Witches to Slime, Toilet Paper to Hot Dogs, Zombies to Werewolves, Princesses to Vampires, the entire class begins to become their costumes.
Told in rapid-fire chapters, showcasing each students' costume/transformation, filled with a lot of action and humor, this book is perfect for fans of Sideways Stories at Wayside School and even the Graphic Novel fans (Captain Underpants and Big Nate). Will the students ever figure out how to change back their cowboy and baby dressed classmates or will they forever have a pumpkin as a principal?

The end of the book is also special, allowing the reader to write their own chapter and how to submit it to the author. Nice touch!

The Classroom wants revenge! The Classroom! This turned into another hilarious read with such misfortune for the teacher and kids of Classroom 13.
Girls turning into trees, and cowBOY, ninja, snotty princess, and a two-headed horse.
Some of the boys turned into a baby, a snotty prince, Dracula/bat, pirate, ghost and a HOT DOG, yep a Hot dog!
These were just some of the character changes in the book. They eventually made it back to their selves once they realized they had hurt the Classroom's feelings and apologized. It was a great read, especially with Halloween around the corner, maybe this will give some of my Book Club kids some fun ideas for costumes!
