The Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas 2009 Reviews

(03/09) I enjoyed this book more this time because my visit this time requires more of the information that the book contained. I may check it out again before our trip to read through it some more, as I didn't have time to look at all of it this time.

I am revisiting the section on Las Vegas Shows. We are going for our anniversary in July and are going to see a show for the first time (after how many visits to Vegas?!). So I want to be sure and pick the right show. It will definitely be one of the Cirque du Soleil shows.

We are staying in Vegas for 1 night on our way to CA in Feb, so I just wanted some info on lodging and buffets. I thought it would be good to try a new buffet (we always eat at the same one). Although there was information on buffets, and they ranked their top 10, there was limited info on crowds, costs, included foods, etc. So while there was a table and chart for almost everything in the book, there wasn't one for the buffets, which I found disappointing. There were a few good tips on lodging and I'll check them out.
For someone not as familiar with Vegas, though, there's a lot of good information. Also, if we were going to Vegas as a destination vacation, I would have read a lot more of the book about entertainment, etc. -
There are better guide books than this; but the section in this one that gives tips on playing blackjack makes it worth a look
