BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K – ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
This book goes through an alphabet of animal sounds and passes through a variety of habitats from farms, to artic, to forest, to jungle and more. The author had a to get a bit creative and use some verbs to make the rhymes work like : Jump, kiss, utter, and vroom. The colors and are bright, the creatures are happy and active.
This is a very energetic and fun book to read with a pre-k child. They would have enjoy trying to identify the wide variety animals and even some of the places. The cover is appealing and it’s a loud way to learn the alphabet.

I enjoyed this one! By not limiting himself to single uses of each letter, the author made this much more enjoyable than many alphabet stories. Personally, I really appreciated the giant "L" made by the alligator...or is is a crocodile? I can't ever tell. The rhythm bounced along nicely until that poor "x," which, sadly, failed miserably. I can't blame the author, really. There's not much that can happen with "x." Still, it did sour the book a little, moving it from a 4 to a 3.

If you make the noise and actions the kids love it.

A joyful noise, for me.

Reading this alphabet board book I could just see the participation of little readers reading along with the story and the sounds the various animals make.
-
Great way to talk about animals is to practice their sounds. Daphne loves the sounds. Particularly the elephant.

We got this book for our baby shower. This is one that I have already read to Fiona multiple times! It goes through the alphabet by using animal sounds. An added bonus is that the pictures are beautiful.
