This learning experience is designed for Bible studies, discussion groups, elder teams, pastoral staff, or any other small group of Christians who desire to engage questions of faith, sexuality and gender with both grace and truth.

A quick read I found several years ago, but just picked up. A great discussion starter on faith and how that relates to LGBTQ+ individuals (not much found here about gender). This is meant to be read and discussed with a group as there are very in depth discussion questions at the end of each chapter.

As someone who leans heavily on the Grace of God to get through each day, I'm thankful for a book that reminds Christians to gift grace to anyone and everyone in love. And as for the truth, I will continue to wrestle with God's good Word.

Magnificent. The best resource I have come across for Christians on the topic of faith, gender and sexuality. Of course, this is an incredibly fragile topic, but Sprinkle navigates this both graciously, and truthfully as the title implies. I appreciate that he clearly states his opinion on matters of faith, gender, and sexuality while also leaving room for discussion around common points of contention. Sprinkle comes with thorough experience and research in this field, but also with gracious sensitively. Must read for Christians- I look forward to reading Grace//Truth 2.0.

I appreciated Preston’s commentary on the intersection of faith and the LGBT+ individuals. It is imago dei-centric, and reminds us as believers of the line we easily cross into hypocrisy. It also has some profound Biblical exposition, laying a foundation for SOME conversations Christians can encounter when discussing sexuality. However, I have a four instead of five star rating because I think that for a 2017 release, it functions as a very basic primer, with content that is easily available through many online resources. I haven’t read 2.0 yet, but I think it could have been in one volume, and led to a greater appreciation for purchasing a book as a resource for this subject matter. Good writing though, with a nice mix of biblical commentary, real life examples, and accessible analogies/visualizations.

First, I am always grateful for layouts and font size that are human-brain friendly. This one was perfect. I appreciate short chapters that I can easily finish on a lunch break. And I love lots of space in the pages... it really helps me process the info better. Thank you for that!
Secondly, and much more important, the content, and the way the content was delivered, was really, really helpful. I'm a pastor who is consistently feeling like "Help! Nobody prepared me for this!" I felt challenged and encouraged throughout the whole read. There were times I knew I was being corrected yet I felt honored in the midst of the correction. There were also times I felt validated, but in a way that didn't tempt me to be self-righteous. Above all, it helped me to process how to sincerely love people more. That's always a good thing :)
    Looking forward to reading 2.0!

Great biblical wisdom paired with the love of Jesus

As a youth pastor and Pastor's wife I want to be fully equipped to stand for my convictions, however the more I dig deep and read the teachings of Jesus through His word the deeper my love for others ( all others) grows. This book is a great promoter of both hard core truth and deep felt love. I look forward to diving into 2.0

I thoroughly enjoyed this book as well as the 2.0 version in a small group discussion format with my church. I'm eager to learn more about different perspectives and have more conversations with real people to learn and grow as this is worth talking about in the church.

While I may not agree on all of Dr. Sprinkle’s points his heart is right where it needs to be and he backs up his research with facts and with love. Greatly recommended.
