The Second World War was one of the most traumatic events in human history. Across the world, existing conflicts became connected, entangling nations in a vast web of violence. It was fought on land, sea, and air, touching every inhabited continent. Over 55 million people died, some of them combatants, some civilians caught up in the violence, and some murdered by their own governments.
It was the war that unleashed the Holocaust and the atomic bomb upon the world. But it was also a war that featured acts of courage and self-sacrifice on every side.
Some of the topics covered in this book include:
The Rising Tide From Poland to the Fall of France Britain’s Darkest Hour Barbarossa Unleashed Early Operations in Africa and the Mediterranean A Day Which Will Live in Infamy Germany’s Eastern Offensives Guadalcanal and the War in Asia Operation Torch and the Taking of North Africa The Tide Turns in Eastern Europe Advancing on Japan The Invasion of Italy From D-Day to the Bulge The Fall of Germany The Fall of Japan And a Great Deal More that You don't Want to Miss out on! very detailed WWII book England, US, Germany, France, Russia

Big Task
When libraries are written on personalities, battles and outcomes of WW2, it’s a big task to provide a reasonably comprehensive, extremely short history. This does a nice job of giving the reader an introduction to WW2 in a book readable in under two hours. It will disappoint the enthusiast, but would be a great introduction for the high schooler or person looking to get a basic understanding of the lead up through post war issues. A good introduction. -
Kindle Unlimited but most get on freebie days, but yes read all of these one way or another.

If you are expecting a detailed explanation of the events that transpired during World War 2, you would do better looking elsewhere. If, however, you want a short 2-hour read summarising these events, you have come to the right place. It is a surprisingly easy read and presented without any bias to either of the sides involved in the conflict. Just the facts are presented.

Another very well written and interesting look at history. WWII was the worst of the worst and this overview is well done. Highly recommend.

Read this book in two sessions. It’s a very brief account of the key events of the war. Well written.

Wow what a book amazing
-
An excellent book or as the title says, a guide. The book is written for those knowing a little but not a lot about the Second World War. It is an easy read. It is not a scholarly book on the war, but it does endeavor giving the reader the big picture of what led to the war and it does an exceptional job outlining the major battles in the European and Pacific Theaters.

Captivating compendious yet incomplete
Missing emphasis on lot of important landmarks be it Normandy etc.
Otherwise a great book for a novice who is wanting to know at the macro level the nadir of modern human civilization
