Even with eternity on his side, can he save her?

Jackson's life is about to change. Again. In 1906, the San Francisco earthquake took everything from him. It took, but it also gave. He soon found he had the ability to...stop time, to freeze the world around him. That, and after eighty years of roaming the world, he hasn't aged a day.

He lives the good life among tiny mortals. Stealing, bribing, stumbling his way into making a living. All this can be forgiven, he figures, as long as he keeps two rules. Two absolute and non-negotiable rules.

Now Jackson learns he is not the only one with these strange and wonderful powers. Now Jackson must make a choice, a choice that will change everything. The choice is: which rule will he break?

I got this as a e book from the author. It is my first book by this author. I enjoyed reading it. It had a good story to it. It was a quick read so I read it in one day. I hope to read more books by this author.

Short read, less than an hour.

A man with the ability to stop time, and never age. Is it a blessing or a curse. If you could do it what would you do. Jackson has two rules, family first, and thou shall not kill. Almost 80 years after the event that changed him he is asked to break his rules and murder a man or his grand niece dies. What will he do.

I received a copy of this book from a free offer from the author. This is a honest review.

A story about a man who can stop time, never sleeps and never ages. He lives the good life by stealing, accidently finding ways to make a living, and doing whatever he has to. Then he meets a man who has these same abilites but this man is stronger. Jackson's life changes and not for the better. This story is well thought out and well written. It kept my attention.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.

    A short read

I like that the story is short it moves nicely. Jackson has an ability to freeze time and thinks he's the only one in the whole world who can do that and doesn't age. Soon hell meet his match, that is, another one with abilities stronger and better than his. If he wants to keep living and his family too...he'll have to do what this stranger wants...bow before him and call him as God... even kill for him.

It begins with a fascinating premise; that a man who survived the major earthquake has acquired the ability to freeze time for a bit and also have no need for sleep yet appear unchanged in appearance and have super strength as well. But now he becomes employed by a sadistic man with control issues, more diverse powers, and the desire for an unwilling assassin. Excellent!

Carritos the Assassin is a short story in the Temporal series. For being so short, it was very good. There is a lot of action and drama for just a few short pages. This is the first story I've read in the series but after reading it, I think the others are worth a look. Good read.

For those who want to know: This one is a clean read (yea!). Kudos to the author!

    Interesting!

Before I could really get into this book, it was over! I would love to read a second part to truly understand what is going on! Before I refer this book to others, I will have to know more about the story.

This is an exceptionally well-written and throughly entertaining story. I highly recommend it.

    Creepy story!

I found this quite an interesting yet creepy story about someone who found himself in a precarious, deadly situation, so good!

  • Lynn

The tale of how a good person becomes a bad one with one easy stroke! An amazing terrorizing story about a man having powers that can totally freeze the World while he does his own choosing.

  • Tina Helzer

This was an interesting book. About a boy who survives a quake and then things change for him. He lives his life until he meets someone who has special powers like his who forces him to be something he has never been before. In the end that is what changes and finishes his life.

  • Lou Ann

    Really almost a 3.

I didn't really like this book at all. Too much arrogance and testosterone for me. The thief has the humanity to keep his sister's family safe and is very proud that he's never killed anyone.
