The Life of Christ: Twenty-Four Paintings Reviews
-
Life story of Jesus is depicted in 24 paintings. Just as simple as that.
But the specialty is that it is painted by an Indian Christian and the paintings are one of the earliest efforts in inculturating Gospel in Indian art form. As a result, Jesus is not depicted in the usual Western style. He is presented as an Indian (more like an Indian sannyasi - sage). For instance look at the cover page if possible. (I could not get any of the paintings in good shape from Google.) That is actually the parable of the lost sheep. See the depiction of Jesus. You will get my point.
