Desperate to cut all ties from the last four tragic years of her life, Patricia Adams changes her name and her appearance. She returns to Pepper Creek with her fourteen-year-old son, Luke, to clear her name and to follow through on a dream to run Shylah, her deceased parents' cattle station.

Established at Shylah, Luke befriends the new local police officer. When he fails to return home on time from school, she arrives face to face with an old flame, Sergeant Justin Cooper.

Justin also has a motive for returning to Pepper Creek; to run his parents' cattle property and to undertake his last assignment. As a detective sergeant familiar with crime investigation, he is assigned to uncover the truth about a fatal car accident fourteen years ago.

Patricia is informed that Shylah is legally tied to the Cooper property and she cannot stand her ground without exposing her identity.

Will she discover what she once lost, simmering under the camouflage of distorted truth?

Will Justin find what his soul yearns, or is it a childhood illusion, lingering in the ashes of his burned memories?

Pepper Creek is another fantastic book from Suzanne Brandyn. Patricia Adams thought by returned to Pepper Creek with her son Luke to run Shylah her family's cattle station. However, her peaceful life started to come unravelled when her son Luke befriended the local police Detective Sergeant Justin Cooper who is investigating Patricia's parent's death. Readers of Pepper Creek will continue to follow the twist and turns in Justin investigations and see if Justin and Patricia would fall in love.

I enjoy reading Pepper Creek. I love the way Suzanne Brandyn portrays her characters. I love the way Suzanne Brandyn always adds a twist which ensures that her readers are glued to their chairs until the last page is read. Also, I enjoy the way Suzanne Brandyn describes living in a rural community. I like way Suzanne Brandyn portrays family violence in Pepper Creek highlighting the consequence that it causes for all suffers. Reading Pepper Creek highlighted to me that everyone has a chance to find love.

Readers of Pepper Creek will learn about police corruptions in a rural community. Also, readers of Pepper Creek will learn that revenge does not pay and the consequence it courses for others. Readers of Pepper Creek will also have a laugh with the sub section in Patricia's parent's will and how Justin and Patricia had to fulfil it.

    I recommend this book.

Patricia Adams is not who she appears to be. No one, not even her fourteen-year-old son knows who she really is, and why she is living a lie. She knows it's risky to go back to the small town of Pepper Creek where she grew up, but she has plans that revolve around being able to find out the truth about the incident that changed her life forever.

She is shocked to find that her ex-lover and childhood sweetheart has also come back to town, and she tries to stay away from him because he, of all people, is most likely to see through her disguise and recognize her. It's not easy to keep to yourself in a small town, though.

The characters are well-developed, and I found myself rooting for all of them. An uplifting story that will leave you wanting to read more from this author.

    EXCELLENT
A remarkable story of love, and how far a woman would go to protect her family. I loved the characters and related to the heroine as well as the hero. Ms Brandyn drew me into another great world of suspense and romance with a twist that was worth waiting for.

As with all of this authors novels, I could visualise the scenery and the characters. Well done. I couldn't stop reading as I was dying to find out what would happen.

Another wonderfully written book by Suzanne Brandyn. It's well worth the read. Looking forward to her next one.

Intriguing plot... it has romance, betrayal, a bit of mystery and a lot of obstacles to conquer!!
I don’t think I could be so forgiving like Ellie was... in my opinion a guy that leaves his fiancé behind, being that the last time he saw her she was being arrested and only comes back four years later to look for her, only to find out that she was found guilty and went to “prison” for something she didn’t even do... don’t deserve any forgiveness!
Even so, the book has something addictive about it... you can’t put it down!!!

A really enjoyable romantic suspense. Loved the two main characters and their history. Could understand Patricia's actions to protect her family and loved how the story played out.
