BACK The first half of this book is a concise autobiography detailing my personal experience with depression (perhaps as a result of both environment and genetics). Also included in this book are songs (piano, lyrics, and vocals on audio CD) I wrote during the darkest times. The second half of the book includes the nine "secrets" that I discovered-perhaps to which I owe my life. Although outwardly I've experienced many adverse circumstances in my life, none have compared to the painful thoughts and feelings (depression) that I felt on the inside. These bad thoughts and feelings were so severe that it seemed that there were only two possible outcomes for the escape by ending my life or escape by finding a cure. In order to find relief, I tried everything that I helping others, prayer, counseling, medication, exercise, and everything else you can imagine. For pretty much my whole life, just about every single day seemed like a marathon. I wasn't sure I was going to make it, although-I was living a relatively normal life on the outside. However, at age 26 as a result of an injury, I began experiencing very severe health problems. It wasn't until I hit absolute rock-bottom physically and emotionally that I began discovering the "cure": resources that helped me to become not only non-suicidally depressed-but actually happy. Since this time I haven't just been happy. I've had better thoughts and feelings (more happiness) than I've ever had in my entire life. If you struggle with depression, I can say with certainty that this book will help you. In fact, I look forward to hearing from you personally regarding how this book has changed you. Knowing that I have helped others overcome the same thing that almost overtook me is one of the most rewarding things in my life.
