  Another childhood memory book. A family friend would read me that one, which I requested over and over again. Bless her patience with me hahaha
  
  It's the story of a little boy who's at home alone while his parents are either away or busy, and he catches a glimpse of a gross monster who's making a mess by setting pranks and playing messy games in their home. Initially the boy wants to keep it from making said mess after the monster catches him and befriends him, and then the story gets kind of weird (don't worry it's perfectly fine for children lol).
  
  That story used to frighten me but it was also incredibly silly. It's neither very good nor compelling, but the art was striking and the sequences were gripping and I remember I couldn't help but want to tell the main character to run or hide no matter how many times it was read to me.
  
  I can no longer find it, and yet, I still vividly remember it. It was a good story for a child my age, despite not remembering how old that was.
