I'm going to take Amalia for her very first time.
Hell, I might even fall in love with her for MY very first time.
I know it from the moment I first lay eyes on her seductive curves.
There's only one problem.
That moment happens to be when she is walking down the aisle to marry my hateful half brother Jackson.
I'm his illegitimate half-brother, the black sheep playboy of the family.
I'm used to doing what I want.
And now what I want to do is Amalia.
To have my way with her while she submits to my every command.
But her father has sold her off to Jackson as part of a business deal.
Fulfilling our desires could mean she's disowned and Jackson's wrath could destroy both of us.
He'd better be ready for the fight of his life because I'm going to take what I want, which is Amelia over my knee and then on her own knees for me.
And I know from the look in her sultry eyes that she wants to give me what I want, no matter the cost.
This book is a full-length standalone novel with a guaranteed HEA and no cliffhanger.
His Brother's Wife Reviews
-
I can appreciate the lengths people will go for love; however, the numerous intimate scenes during times of crisis was unrealistic. I can't imagine someone being kidnapped and your only thought is "I could probably ignore this by having sex."
I can also appreciate how the author destigmatizes BDSM by showing its misuse and later the "proper" use, for lack of better terminology.
When thinking about realism within the book, the beginning is just highly unrealistic. I was confused because I thought maybe I missed a book in the meantime that led up to this; however, they are stand-alone novels, so that wasn't the case.
Finally and most importantly, I don't recall a trigger warning, but knowing that the main male character is a sociopath + sex should give you the trigger warning you need prior to reading.
I think this is a solid 2 or 3 star, but it depends on what you hope to get out of it and how far your imagination can run. -
This book makes it official: Michelle Love is the queen of dark romance. So much is packed into this book - so much drama, suspense, love, lust, revenge, sacrifice, whew! And it's all done so very well. The story grabs you from the first page and takes you on the ride of your life. The path to happiness is so fraught with obstacles, in the hands of a lesser author this could be a hot mess but Ms. Love is a talented genius, giving us characters that are so richly nuanced that the reader is emotionally invested right from the start. Yes, it's dark, so if you want light and fluffy you'll need someone to hold your hand as you read this one. But if you like grown-up problems in your grown-up stories, this is one you don't want to miss. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Haha, umm NO! I'm not a fan (or perhaps I'm not in the mood for) reading about grown women being forced into marriage by a father who uses his children as pawns to further his professional or political endeavors. Had I realized that was how this story was going to play, I would not have bothered. Thank goodness for my KU subscription so I didn't waste any money on this. I think Michelle Love is perhaps just not for me. -
A fast paced, steamy and dark story paced with drama, suspense, revenge, sacrifices, lust, intense chemistry, great characters, la well thought out plot, love, and so much more. Michelle Love does a great job of pulling you into the story and holding you captive until the very end.
I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book. -
I think the only way some of these books now-a-day receive anything more then 2 stars is because the reviewers received ARCs (advanced readers copy) and are trying to stay on the author's good side to receive more free books -- or the reviews are fake; and this one is one of those books.

Amalia is being forced to marry Jackson by her father. He needs the money Jackson is offering for her to help out his failing business. At first Amalia said no but then she had to agree. Only by agreeing would her younger sister be allowed to escape her own abusive marriage. Amalia hates Jackson and his possessiveness and is determined not to ever sleep with him.
At the wedding, Ama meets Enda, Jackson's illegitimate half brother and the sparks fly. When she seeks a moment alone, Enda finds her and kisses her. Things get out of hand and she gives him her v-card. Then she retires to her room alone. At first the marriage goes the way she planned even though she has to put a chair under her door to keep her husband out. She and Enda are having an affair.
Jackson isn't your normal jerk. He always gets what he wants and will go to any measure to get it. He forces Ama and abuses her by threatening everyone she loves. When Jackson goes too far, Ama runs to Enda and he takes out of the country. Jackson is furious. If he can't have Ama, he will make sure no on will and he will take extreme steps to get her.
This book is full of extreme feelings and some violence including rape. There are twists and turns and lots of drama. It is a little dark with Jackson but his violence scenes are not described but just mentioned. The love between Enda and Ama is strong and tender. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review. -
I enjoyed this story. It was different than I was expecting. It definitely has a darker vibe to it. Amalia is put in a bad situation but she handles it fairly well. She is pretty much being forced to marry Jackson in order to save her sister from an abusive marriage. Her father and Jackson are the ones forcing the issue so that her father can get paid. She does so, not planning for it to be a real marriage and to leave when the contract is up in two years. Jackson is obsessed with her and planning to get what he wants. Ollivier and Enda, Jackson's brother and half brother, help run some interference for Amalia in the early weeks of the marriage. Enda and Amalia have an immediate connection when they meet during the wedding ceremony/reception. They can't exactly stay away from each and don't with the situation being what it is. Jackson is dangerous and he quickly forces things into a bad situation. The sex is explicit in this book and it deals with the hard topic of rape. The rape scenes are not explicit like the consensual sex scenes are but they are there. There is also quite a bit of violence involved as well. Just a heads up. I enjoyed the way the story was told and the pacing of it. I thought it was well done and it definitely draws you in and keeps you reading to figure out how everything is going to work out. The building of the relationship is mixed really well with the action.

His Brother's Wife grabs a hold of you from the very beginning and keeps you hooked until the end of this great read! Michelle Love gives you amazing characters you can't help but become emotionally invested in as well as a great storyline. Amalia Rai is desperate to save her younger sister from an abusive marriage. Her father knows this and uses that knowledge to force Ama into a marriage to Jackson Gallo. Jackson Gallo is cold and ruthless and used to getting his way. He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants and what he wants is Ama. He is the last man Ama ever pictured marrying. As she is walking down the aisle her eyes meet those of a handsome stranger. The moment Edna Gallo sees Ama walking down the aisle he wants her but unfortunately she is his half brother's intended bride. The chemistry between Edna and Gallo is intense and obvious from the moment they first meet. To escape from her loveless marriage to Jackson Ama begins a steamy affair with Edna. Edna and Ama fall in love but when Jackson finds out about them he vows to destroy Ama and all those she loves. Can the love that Ama and Edna found be enough to overcome Jackson's wrath? I highly recommend you pick up His Wife's Brother to find out. It will take you on a hot, sweet, suspenseful and dark ride! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

His Brother's Wife is fast paced and action packed with so many hot sex scenes in between it's hard to regulate your heart rate! There were elements of the story that were a bit unbelievable (the female lead, Ama, is forced by her father to marry a psychopath in order to broker a business deal between her dad and the betrothed and allow her sister to divorce her abusive husband and (SPOILER ALERT) she's a virgin who has sex with someone other than the psychopath husband at the wedding reception and that person is the psycho husband's half-brother). I did like how strong-willed Ama is and how self-sacrificing she was. The relationship with her and Enda is sweet, intense, and romantic. The side characters were a highlight of the book too - in fact I think that the development of the characters, both the good and evil (Jackson) one(s). I really wanted to know more about them. Despite being a little grizzly for my taste (and the fact that the main characters pretty much used sex as a coping mechanism throughout the book), His Brother's Wife was a real page turner for me and I think lovers of soap operas, telenovelas, and romantic suspense will enjoy it. -
Trigger happy. Abuse, raping, killing, murder and kidnapping.
One man is a psychotic, manipulating, gets off see a women in fear, in pain and dying. He is obsessed with a women and no matter what she thinks or feels he won't let her go unless it's by death. He hired killers and he's killed and his new obsession is Ama. An Indian American talented piano player. Her father sells her by blackmailing Ama into a marriage with Jackon so her baby sister can divorce her abusive husband. Her marriage to her is fake she don't believe it's happening but to her it's only on paper and stick in this marriage for 2 years before a divorce well she didn't know the man she was marrying. Her shame of a wedding she got to meet the mystery half brother Enda, she first saw him and she feel for him. What they did later after her wedding will start her life into a happish life. What she never know what her husband can do, but when Enda sees for him self what's becoming of the women he is falling for he will do anything in his power to save her but at what and who's cost?????
ARC was voluntarily exchange for a honest review -
4.5 stars This was an excellent romance regarding those of wealth and status. This story was very intense at times but all you have to do is watch the news or read the newspaper and you'll see women and others that are brutalized by those that claim to love them. I read other reviews and even in this day and age women and children are traded as objects. Every society has psychopaths that feel they "own" another due to a sick obsession. There were parts that were horrifying and sad. The author wrote an intense suspense that included intrigue, violence and romance. The will to survive even through brutality proves the strength of the human spirit and love. I do NOT just review the complementary books I receive from authors so I can "get more free books". That implies that I don't give an honest opinion, which I always do. This book may cause flashbacks for anyone who has suffered abuse but I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Love in the future whether I receive them as an ARC or purchase them.

First, if you have issues with abuse you may want to pass on this book. However, if you can handle it, this is an excellent read. Michelle Love shows what can happen in an abusive, obsessive relationship. Amalia is forced to marry Jackson by her father. But at her wedding she meets Enda, her new husband's half brother. What ensues is an affair, rape and abuse, running for their lives and repeated murder attempts. Michelle Love shows us seriously strong women in her characters and the equally strong men that love them enough to allow them to stand in their own. I very emotional, heartbreaking and brilliant book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I have a lot problems with this book, the story was all over the place. So many things just didn't make since. First, why is Amalia being forced to marry so guy to save her fathers company and her sister from an abusive marriage? Then she ends up screwing her brother-in-law outside at her wedding reception because they made eye contact while she was walking down the aisle to marry his brother and their was sparks, love at first site kind of thing. Oh did I mention she is a virgin!! The guy she get married to is a murderer, he had his first girl friend stabbed to death because she tried to leave him. Nobody leaves him!!!!. Oh and did mention he truly Hates his brother(the one who screwed his wife on their wedding day) yeah well he hates him. Nothing that they did in this story made sense to me.

OMG! I was not sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but I did not expect it to be this thrilling and exciting!!
Ama is blackmailed into marrying Jackson in order to save her sisters life. Her eyes meet Enda's while walking down the isle and it is live at first sight.
Jackson, as it turns out, is physco, and he is obsessed with Ana. With a fabulous cast of characters, it is exciting, thrilling and suspenseful from beginning to end, the danger is high and the loving is hot
I was so very pleasantly surprised with the twists and the plot of this story, it is a real page turner and gripping read, I highly recommend this book -
Michelle Love always amazes me. This book did surprise me with this very unique storyline. I loved it.
It has drama, action, romance, passion, bad boys and a lot more. I liked very much that the story is very different from most of the new books that are out now. A new fresh topic and story.
There is an amazing chemistry between the two main characters. Amelia is forced into marriage but she falls in love with her husbands younger brother. Not the most pleasant situation.
This book is very well written and I absolutely would recommend it to others.

The first time Edna saw Amalia he knew he wanted her, but the problem was that she was walking down the aisle to marry his half brother. Her father had sold her off to Jackson for some reason and Amalia was very loyal to helping her family. Lots of drama and suspense to keep you page turning. This was a well written book with wonderful characters and a strong story line. No spoiler here, but I'll let you know that there's an HEA and no cliffhanger. I read an arc copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. Great book.

Okay...this was certainly not what I expected. I've come to expect certain things from a Michelle Love novel, but it proved elusive in His Brother's Wife. The storyline is more or less standard fare; the characters developed as you expected; the HEA? Let's just say it was elusive as well until plot resolution. Although the book didn't grab me as so many other Michelle Love books have, I'd still recommend you take s chance on this one. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and am on the fence about it.) 🙄

A dark love story with action, drama, suspense, terror and brutality. Definitely an 18+ novel with scenes that may be triggers for some people.
Lots of strong, successful woman who are matched with strong protective men who will do anything to keep them safe. Add in a psychopath who will go to any length (and has the money to pay for it) to get revenge for slights against him.
The book is full of drama, action, love and just a great story a real thriller that keeps you guessing until the end. Once you start you won't put it down

This is my first book by Michelle Love and I did not regret it at all. It was fantastic.
Not what I expected at all but I was not disappointed in the least. I thoroughly enjoyed this storyline of Michelle's. It was well written with a great plot and a great cast of characters, lots of drama and suspense, danger, violence and romance.
It has so much and so well written. It feels so realistic that you just has to read on.
A must have in the Kindle or on the bookshelf.
Worth reading! -
This book has every element that makes a book GREAT!! There's great friends and family. Not to mention--a sexy, intelligent heroine and a gorgeous, protective hero. Yes...Ama technically cheated on her husband to be with Enda. BUT...it was an arranged marriage to basically a stalker. In addition to all of that, there's kidnappings and murder plots!! I also forgot to mention sexy times galore.
I know I'm rambling...but I loved this book!!!!! It was entertaining, HAWT, and suspenseful.
