CSI: Dominos (CSI, Graphic Novel 4) Reviews

The TV show that I watch and watched with my eldest daughter who now continued with Crimina Minds which I do enjoy in small dosage and not in the binge way she is able to.

Anyhow CSI Las Vegas comes to comic and the characters all look more glamorous than in the TV show, as if Marg Helgenberg needed to look even better. Grissom looks certainly almost as a superhero. While the art looks look every character has a wee bit the feeling of a model, some of the darkness of the TV show is lost this way.

Anyhow the comic starts with a couple of hitmen striking and the team keeps chasing them through science . The story is alright the art excellent even if everybody looks too glamorous. The story lacks any tension though. Not sure I do like CSI in this medium.

5 volumes now read. Every single murderer is a white male. No minority characters have been introduced as suspects or even in supporting roles. Surprising that CSI is the most racist and sexist comic series ever.

I found this in my school's library and I just had to borrow it. Boy am I glad I did. CSI will forever be one of my favorite TV shows. I absolutely loved the graphics and the story line was cool as always. I must hunt down the other graphic novels, I must!!!!!!

It was ok. I've only seen the show once or twice, but found this book on sale and though I'd give it a try. It reads like an episode, where a small piece of the puzzle is revealed before each commercial break (chapter). The story wasn't amazing...murders committed by crime bosses in Las Vegas has been done to death, pardon the pun. I could see someone who really enjoys the tv show being a fan of this series, but for me it was just alright.

Having read novels based on this series that were really well written I felt that this graphic novel series was really let down by poor research. Just one example is the CSIs examining/moving bodies which is the job of the coroner in the show - maybe they couldn't be bothered with drawing an extra character? But having a CSI make a cheesy pun about a heavy body is stretching too far. The storyline was ok but I won't be rushing to read anymore if these.
