Sapphire (Pet) Faye never thought her life would change when she had a chance encounter with a distinguished older man. Hayden King made her crave his attention and strive to fill his every whims. They had it really good until a Stranger came into their lives and shook up the dynamics.
This book caught my attention by several factors - the cover, the blurb and the subject matter. I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. She was a fucking girl. She wasn’t even a woman yet. And I was going to make her into one, whatever the hell it took.
Pet was young and at time it really showed. She was needy and eager to please. But she could also be assertive when she wanted to be and she grew emotionally by the end of the book.“I don’t fuck for hours, I fuck for nights. And you, I’m going to fuck for a lifetime.”
King might appear as a controlling dominant. While he was all that, he was also very accommodating. And I like how I can really see how much he cared for her.I’d never had that before, never with Sapphire or any other girl. But now it was so fucking obvious what I wanted. I wanted to claim her, all of her.
Stranger was the wild card in the story. His casual, no-fuck-given personality drew me in. But behind the bad boy facade, he had substance.
Throughout my reading, I kept having theories of what's happening. In the end my suspicions were confirmed but it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. I like how the questions were dancing between the lines of intriguing and frustrating. And it felt so beautiful, like everything was finally right in my world, and that was exactly where I belonged. Between two men who could never see eye-to-eye on fucking anything, unless they were both buried balls-deep inside me.
The sex scenes were scorching. It didn't matter if it's solo, duo or trio, they're all satisfaction guaranteed haha!I wanted to fix her, but it felt like I never could.
Pet is a story of three individuals earning the love they deserve. It would appeal to readers who like erotica with emotional depth.

a dark, fucked up read...yet insightful and overwhelming in its deepest core
I m still in the process of deciding on what level it reached me...It was different, that's for sure...
And I had mixed feelings about the whole fucked up shit right up until the very ending...that'ss when it all clicked...and now i'm having difficult time to put all the mixed pieces into a whole mozaic! Damn...what a turmoil...
This is a story of a twisted obsession and dark, unexplainable need to prevail, to conquer and claim BUT at the same time it's a painful struggle of one man's obssessive dominant nature to save the lost and horribly broken young girl.
And in the process, he falls with her to the point of no return.
His methods are sometimes cruel and almost vile, but the lines of pain and pleasure are blurred and darkened with undulated need - him to control and her to feel loved, no matter the circumstances, no matter the unconventional settings of their interactions - they fall deep, they fall into the abyss of the most darkened human nature, where no one really knows the "hows" and the "whys" of their conection...
it's theirs and theirs alone...
until the final break-up, the final act of tearing one's existence of everything - emotionally, physically, mentally - only to be revived again.
The moment Hayden Seth King saw barely 18 years old Sapphire, her big blue eyes, her angelic long blonde hair, her submissive yet totaly scared and broken nature peeking behind the defiant young revolt, he knew she would be his - Pet.
The way he broke her, then mended her again and again sometimes bordered with insanity and was not always within reason, and his actions were not conventional in the least, and he never gave her any explanation but only hints as everything he does has it's reasons...
The age gap betwen them is huge and somehow for me, this time, didn't have "red alarm" going off while reading about it. It was weird and yet the way the author explained and presented it, bringing out layer by layer of that mysterious, dark man.
His mission was, as one will find out in the end, to indulge in the last breath of love he was not meant to feel and to give this young broken woman a chance to heal from the horrid abuse she went through as a child, he orchestrated the game that might seem heartless and cruel from the outside but he had the higher gameplan set for her, to prepare her to move on, to live as much as possible on her own as healed, with someone else, someone he chose for her cause in the aftermath, all he did was set her FREE."Thank you, my King."
Inspite some issues I had with the follow up in the storyline, meaning I didn't feel the "connection" at first, nor at second glance but I kept going cause I was induced into this dark haze of actions these characters did and I was intrigued by the mysterious, dangerous yet potent mist lingering around the main anti-hero, and then the ending happened and I realized that Hayden Seth King will in fact be engrained in my memory for quite some time. -
Maybe its a bad case of a book hangover but I just can not do this ;-((
Time for me to move on, maybe I'll be back maybe I won't -
Sorry, I can't read another insta-lust virgin book where panties incinerate bc the H deigned to glance at the h

Sapphire Faye is newly eighteen and struggling to keep her life in check. Upon agreeing to take her roommate’s catering shift, she meets the older and domineering Hayden King, who cancels all the background noise in her mind. A bit reckless in her behavior, Sapphire craves what he can provide. While King’s intentions were simple, his actions were quite the opposite. With his demanding nature, King trains Sapphire to be his Pet and she responds in every way.
“You’re gonna make yourself come,” he told me. “And then I’ll decide if you deserve my cock.”
The dynamic that ensues between King and Pet is tumultuous, compassionate, erotic and perplexing. Though King and Pet aren’t naïve about their age differences, it actually becomes a non-issue as their circumstances are at the forefront. Extremely protective of Pet, King will do anything in his power to maintain her happiness and safety. While King might seem overbearing, he has his reasons for his methods.
“You’re not going to break me, Pet,” he promised me. “I don’t fuck for hours, I fuck for nights. And you, I’m going to fuck for a lifetime.”
The dynamic between King and Pet is sexually potent with minimal boundaries, as their predilections are erotic and scorching hot. With King, he is intense in his expectations and Pet is the perfect submissive, especially when she is bratty. It might be best to follow King’s rule about no panties when reading this one!
“You…” He kneeled down next to me, one hand pulling my head back so far I gagged, and the other spooning his cum into my mouth. “You’re fucking unbelievable…”
All seems to be going accordingly until Stranger enters their lives. Opposite of King, Stranger is younger and doesn’t necessarily to conform to society’s norms and he has his own dominant personality. At first, Stranger’s role in the bedroom isn’t clear but King knows what Pet needs.
“I was up behind her, and I couldn’t keep away any longer. Not with his dirty hands all over my girl and her cheeks splitting open every time she slammed down on his cock. I needed to be inside her. I needed to show Pet who she belonged to.”
In the beginning of this story, my feelings toward Pet were not positive yet as the footings of the plot began to solidify, more about her is unraveled and I began to empathize and like her. With King, he immediately intrigued me and that quest only intensified, as I wanted to know more about him at every moment. Stranger was equally perplexing as he added angst to the plot. Though I surmised the direction, it didn’t detract from the emotional landscape or the overall satisfaction.
This is my first book by Isabella Starling and what I learned is that she isn’t afraid to take her characters on their own path, which allows for dimension and deep emotions. While there are plenty of erotically charged moments (fans self), be prepared to also feel an array of reactions as the narrative takes a few twists. I highly recommend Pet!

I am not sure how I can describe this book.
This is definitely a dark romance, but it is not really about a relationship between three people.
It is not a fluffy smut read.
King would have been happy if he had Sapphire aka Pet for himself, but he knew that it couldn't work.
Stranger wants Sapphire and only her to take her away. If he is patient, he may succeed.
Sapphire really wants King, but she also wants Stranger occasionally. It won't be easy when she is left with just one of them.
Everything is a bit vague in the beginning of the story. Tons of sex and only a few explanations later.
There is also a letter in the end that will make things more clear. Some readers may even cry a bit in the end. I did not. I thought the whole thing was too emotional but at the same time too sappy.
There is a happy ending -at least for the two out of the three characters. -
I need to cleanse myself in holy water after this lmao. Very hot and kinky but also with a great plot!

I...I don’t know how to explain how this book affected me.
It’s like it got into my head and implanted all of Saphire’s insecurities and needs there. I felt, at several times throughout this week, so deeply empty inside my heart and I couldn’t figure out why...it was this book.
I kept waiting for something awful to happen and it was because I knew something sad was going to happen between Saphire and King but it just hadn’t yet.
I can count on one hand the number of books that have done this to me.
SAPHIRE
Ooft, this poor girl.
I found myself feeling way too much for her. It was like I could feel exactly what she was feeling and god, it was terrible.
She’s had such an awful thing to overcome and she felt that she had to do it on her own.
She’s a mix of mouthy and outgoing and then shy and insecure.
She’s desperately seeking something to mean something to her in this life. Anything to just give her some hope.
She meets King one night and he was everything she never knew she needed..and way, way more.
“How old were you?” Her eyes zeroed in on mine and my heart beat a single time. “I was five,” she said. “And six. And seven. He stopped after that. He said I was…” She choked back a sob and I stared at her, a fucking broken mess of a girl that I wanted to avenge. “He said after that, I was too bad,” she went on. “And he couldn’t help me anymore. I was too dirty.” I lay on top of her and she sighed with relief when she felt my weight sink against her.
KING
I really didn’t like this man for at least the first third of the book. And even after I stopped wanting to hit his sack with a slingshot, I could not wrap my head around how or why he did the things he did.
He filled me with anxiety that followed me around in my own everyday life, lol.
He is incredibly sexy and domineering. He has some epic skills in the bedroom and even when I hated him I wanted to have angry sex with him.
But he is so fucked up, intense and complicated.
I just can’t even…
“You’re never going to break me, Pet,” he promised me. “I don’t fuck for hours, I fuck for nights. And you, I’m going to fuck for a lifetime.”
SEX SCENES
The sex was hot and intense and I had to turn off my kindle and grab my wee clit sucking machine to take care of myself before I could focus on anything else a few times, lol.
The pain. The fucking blinding, white-hot pain that built and built and built and then exploded until I saw black. “Please,” I cried out. “Please, oh my God, please!” “Come for me,” he ordered, and I did, and it hurt better than anything he’d ever done to me. “Fuck, good girl…” I could only whimper. I felt him getting bigger, so big it felt like he was ripping me apart. “Pull out,” I begged him. “Pull out, don’t come.” “No,” he growled, his voice so angry it scared me. “I’m not protected,” I said, whimpering again. He fucked me harder, punctuating every thrust with a word. “I. Don’t. Give. A. Fuck. Pet!” He broke me with a searing kiss, and I screamed my release into his mouth. He was fucking insane. And maybe so was I. He hitched my hips, pushed a pillow under my ass and it made him go in deeper. It was strangely cathartic. No more words, no more thoughts, no more feelings. No way to express what he was doing to me. No chance for me to go back from this. “Pet,” he hissed, his balls slapping off my ass. “Spread your whore legs.” I did. “Beg for it,” he grunted. “Please.” My voice was so soft, even though I wanted to scream.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This book...my god, this book got to me for some reason and I can not put my finger on exactly how.
I need to read something fluffy now, lol. Lighthearted and fluffy.
5 Stars.

WHAT THE FUCK
Okay im kinda mindblown rn lol
I cant believe i cried so badly (like a mountain of tissues) and i devoured the entire book like a mad woman
I loved loved loved King and ofc
HOWEVER i believe that its what makes the entire plot even impactful! King's and Sapphire's relationship were basically toxic af but their chemistry and sex were so goddamn hot.. in comes Stranger and he wanted Sapphire to be his only.
I rmb i had chills while reading it and i was expecting something to be happening. Definitely not what i expected but i do like this a lot. The character growth here was really good, you could see Sapphire becoming stronger, instead of the girl she was in the past (or rather with King). Initially i hated Felix lol and thought that he was the extra one, but things changed as the story progresses.
Nevertheless i love this book, its honestly raw and dark that took me by surprise. Definite 5 stars!! But oh god the last sentence in the epilogue, made me cried again lol -
4.25 stars!
This is the story of Pet and King, a girl and a man.
First of all, I’d like to note that everyone should take the warnings seriously. This book is dark in its way and definitely not for everyone.
This story really surprised me on so many different levels. It looks like an older man-younger woman romance but it’s so much more. The plot had surprises and twists that I didn’t see coming. There was passion, tension, mystery and pain (literally and metaphorically). The story is said by multiple POV’s and it’s perfectly done.
Pet is a girl that is a bit lost. She suffered in her life. Once she met King, she discovered emotions that she didn’t know that were existing or that were possible. I like her in a way. She is playful and immature but her heart is at the right place.
King is a real man. He knows what he wants and what he needs and he goes for it. I don’t know if I like him or not. He is too intense for me. But like Pet, his heart is at the right place too, in a twisted way.
Stranger is not my cup of tea. I couldn’t connect with him like Pet did but I liked his ways. He is also a real man!
The connection among the heroes was unique. Their relationship isn’t something that I’d love to have but it made sense for them. There was passion, lust, pain, even love. I honestly believe that this is the beauty of a book, to read about something that you wouldn’t like for yourself but you are convinced that it was perfect for the heroes.
Although the personalities and the feelings of the characters in the book were well developed and explained, there were information missing that I’d like to know. Like I didn’t understand what the job of King was except that he was rich or what his background was. Small details that they weren’t important for the actual story but it would have painted it better in my opinion.
The end of the book was beautiful! I even cried! I actually cried! So, how could I be upset with a book when it gave me so many emotions and feelings?

“I felt so small when he touched me, like I was a doll he was playing with. I loved the feeling. And I craved more of it.”
This quote pretty much sums up the odd relationship between Hayden Seth King, Sapphire Rose Faye and Felix (The Stranger) have throughout the book. Sapphire AKA "Pet" is a eighteen year old with a troubled past that is slowly revealed in layers as the book progresses. No more than two chapters in and you just KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that Sapphire is emotionally disturbed. No eighteen-year old “virgin” acts the way she does and I wasn’t buying what she was selling. However, if you love books that present a strong Lolita Complex this book will hold your interest as the majority of the book focuses on King and Pet. The third person comes into play much later into the story.
King is a wealthy older man in his forties who has a lifestyle that indulges his every whims and fantasies. He meets Sapphire when she fills in for her roommate as a waitress for an Art Gala event to wealthy clientele. Once the initial introductions are out of the way she repeatedly begs for sex from him, who at this point is a complete stranger. The book continues from then on to indulge Sapphire's sexual appetite by not providing any significant ramifications for her poor decision making skills.
This book is at its core pure erotic escapism. Let me make this clear, this girl is taken care of like a rich man’s pet. There is no handsome forty-year old-ish multibillionaire who dishes out extensive pain and humiliation to naivee virgins they just met. While at the same time sheltering them in a penthouse and providing them with the best food, clothes and entertainment money can buy. Money alone makes the sexual fantasy element of this book so far removed from reality it failed to make me feel this book was in a dark category. This book would have went South real fast if she was doing all this sexual activity with a broke S.O.B but a rich S.O.B puts a gold band-aid over the strange kink fetish play that is written in every other page.
“It was like I finally discovered what had been missing in my life. This…need to have someone so in control over me. It was so sexy. I would’ve submitted to everything he said, but I loved pushing him, too. If nothing else, just for those punishments he doled out with a stern hand.”
In my opinion, Sapphire can’t express how she wants to be treated. She seems to crave to experience her sexuality fully and completely in a controlled environment with a dominant master who makes her feel safe, so she can lose control and NOT be held accountable. Sapphire seems to have no sense of self and uses her sexual experiences to project her feelings of being desirable based on her ability to please someone as a “Good Girl.” While reading this I noticed that regardless of who she ends up with at any given time, she sexually submits every time as long as her partner is aggressively dominant with her. Sapphire pushes people away hoping they prove how much they want her. She seeks attention relentlessly even at the cost of her own well-being. She is a spoiled brat that doesn’t understand how much worse her life can be the moment she gives up control to a stranger. Instead she seems to think her utter salvation lies in exploring her darkest sexual fantasies and being treated like a two-cent whore.
I didn’t really connect with any of the characters in this book especially Sapphire. She acted like she was a defenseless victim left for dead in this big bad world. But in reality she had loving parents and friends that she had no problem dumping in the trash. I give this book two stars for the sex scenes but the story was seriously lacking for me. I highly suggest you read this book for the shock factor. You’ll either love it or hate it as it is a book that brings out strong emotions. -
Title: Pet
Author: Isabella Starling
5+ smashing stars
This book broke me in so many pieces that I'm still rubbing my eyes of those tears that just can't seem to stop leaking from the corners. I wish they would stop so I can make some sort of half assed attempt to pretend that Pet didn't touch me in ways I never expected. Let ,e start my review with this author's dedication at the end. Why? Because no matter how many times I'll pick up a book, I never know what to expect and when I'm this affected, I'm always curious to know what the were thinking as they wrote their book.
Isabella Starling didn't let us wait too long to find out since as much as she apologizes for breaking our hearts, she admits it broke hers but that the story HaD to be told. And what a story it is.
5 hot and sweaty dreams
Who is Pet? She's 18 and a few months, hiding from a terrible secret and until she met King, she was always afraid of something. Through King, she's pushed to heightened boundaries, learns to fully submit and to finally come into her own. King is a man used to getting what he wants and makes no qualms to being selfish, only he never expected that Pet would become his world and he'd want to protect her from her own demons. And Stranger? He's the man that Pet feels drawn to in ways neither can explain. E's a mystery but the small girl makes him feel things he can't describe. Their destiny is intertwined from the very beginning and if you could guess how before the author tells you - my hats off to you.
I'll always say it: when I come across an amazing book, words always fail to truly express how it touched me, I fell in love with this book: with Pet's bratty ways and book hoarding habits. With King's need to protect this girl. And with Stranger's strong feelings for her. I fell in love with the unexpectedness of the storyline, but most of all, I fell in love with how it made me feel. I wish I could say this was my favourite from Isabella Starling (because it is), but every time I do, she always comes up with something better and no less powerful.

[image error]I went into this book thinking it would be for lack of a better a word; easy. Easy to read, easy to forget and wouldn't require much from me.
I couldn't have been more wrong. This book worked it's way past my moat and over the walls and defeated the guard to get to my heart. And then it tore that little piece of heart it had just acquired to absolute pieces.
I'm seriously thinking of starting a list of books I will have to go out and buy in physical form (I'm a kindler) and do my own version of a Joey Tribbiani and stick in the freezer. This book would be on that list.
It's gonna take me a little to get over this one. I read it like a week ago and am just now writing the review even though I knew what I was gonna write.
My only complain is that we didn't get to hear much about Stranger's headspace. It was implied it wasn't a hundred percent perfect but we never heard more about it. I would have liked too. This was an amazing read! It's very well written and the plot was fantastic! King and Pet made for a very toxic couple but you couldn't help but love the two of them together. The chemistry between them was fucking HOT! It's been a while since I've read a bondage book and this was over-the-top delciously good. I loved the twisted friendship Pet and Angel (Maria) developed. I don't know why but that was one of my favorite things about the book. This is a book that I would re-read and I highly recommend it to my readers. Excellent job, Isabella!
2.5 stars
I almost DNF four times and now I am happy I didn't give up on this story. I had a feeling that story was wrote by different people. And for sure I haven't expected this ending!!!This book left me confused, frustrated and yes, even angry.
I enjoyed the story just fine, right up until Stranger came into the picture. From that point onwards, the story just went downhill for me. And don't even get me started on the ending which is a big fuckup. I felt let down and even somewhat cheated because I spent time invested on Pet and King only to have my head (and feelings!) screwed in every direction.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Pet and King make sense. They don't. They are two very destructive individuals and to say that I like them together is a lie. If I were to be honest with myself, nothing in this story makes sense, but it doesn't mean that it cannot be real.
And that is what Pet and King are about. They are real. Their problems are real and by saying that, I am in no way condoning any of their actions.
I don't even like Pet to be honest. She's a brat and in many ways, I think she took advantage of King and King allows that, even encourages it, because the man has nothing to lose. But each of them has something to like, especially King. But Stranger is just a nuisance and I hate him to the end.O.k. I really enjoyed this overall. I listed it as a favorite because I would like to read some other books from this author even though I felt like the beginning was a little jumbled. I found myself going what???? and having to reread things. This could be a case where it is me not you, but when I was reading the beginning I kept thinking to myself this must not have had an editor, but I was wrong. What I'm trying to say is that even though I had those little moments it was good enough to continue and I'm so glad I did. Once I was into, the writing seemed to flow and the story, wow the story.. I didn't see it coming. And to top it off, this book was hot.
This is definitely more than what it seems.4.75 stars
Isabella Starling definitely knows how to stir your emotion with Pet. It’s riveting, heartbreaking, and the scorching scene between King, Pet and Stranger are definitely stimulating. It was a well-written plot and the characters are flawed but the author was able to do justice in developing them. Overall, I did enjoy my first book from Ms. Starling and I know this won't be my last. Highly recommended if you're into ménage à trois, erotic, dark romance you'll like this book as much as I did.This. THIS is how you write dark erotica. Or romance. Or anything. Don't hold back. Just don't hold back and give me all your talent.
Well, that was just an emotional mess that I'm not even going to attempt to process 🥲.
No, but honestly, what the hell just happened? Like I did not sign up for this- it's currently 12:30 am and I'm crying- GIRL WHAT JUST HAPPENED. Not me thinking that this would be a quick, simple and spicy book to read just for fun 🤡✋.
I don't even know how to describe what I just read- but in all of its messed-up glory, I kind of really liked it?
No, but that ending tho 😭.You can see the full review here -
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... ~SonalSo I said this earlier, this book fucking wrecked me.
There is so much to say, but I don't want to give too much away.
First let me gush on this cover for a moment. It's magnificent I love the pinks and blues amazing.
Alright let's get into the story, this book is about three fucked up people, looking for something. It starts out with our two MCs King and Sapphire.
Sapphire is asked to cover for her friend and she really needs the money. She's working at this gallery where she is hanging out hor d'evours. She bumps into this drunk man who turns out to be a real creeper. He of course is trying to hit on Sapphire, wants her to go in the back for a little somethin somethin. she's not having it.
Enter King, he saves her from this douche and then ignores her. This is a BDSM book guys and gals so there is a method to King's madness okay.
I think that is all I am really going to say, You meet F at some point. But I wont tell you where and I am sure as heck not going to tell you why. Just bring your hankie or tissues to this party. It get's dark, it get's fucked up, and then it gets worse.
There are triggers in this book, so please be aware of that as well. Safe, Sane, consensual are pretty much thrown out the window and Sapphire likes a lot of dark things done.
I am going to be buying this paperback because really I need it on my shelves. There are not enough words to describe the emotions that went through me while reading this book. I have read every book that Isabella has wrote I love every one of them, but this one oh my god. Pet, just takes your breath away.
Pet (the person) is someone you want to be while going through this book. Even through everything she goes through, the pain the love, the emotions you WANT to be her.
King, you want to be in his hands, with everything he does to Pet, it is okay because you know he is doing it out some kind of twisted love for her and in the end, you love him for it.
Stranger, wants to be the savior in all that he thinks is messed up. But he realizes that sometimes life is messed up and so are people and you have to flow with it.
This book will take you to places that might make you uncomfortable sometimes, I found it to be incredibly beautifully told. There was not a part of this book that I did not enjoy. I could not put it down even while my tears were falling. Thank you, Isabella, for telling this story!!Sapphire, aka Pet, met King when she was covering a waitressing shift for a friend. King was the ultimate asshole Dom, super controlling and everything Pet craved. How she went from virgin to complete sex toy is a mystery at first, but we learn later about some pretty messed up things in her past that may have contributed. I kept thinking King would lighten up as he started to fall for Pet, as happens in so many other books, but he remained his asshole self until the bitter end.
Enter Stranger... I was confused about Stranger--didn't understand why King would allow it the first time or subsequent times, especially given his reaction to the initial meeting. But it all came together at the end. Truly this was a three star read for me given that Pet annoyed me for a lot of the book, but I like to add a star whenever an author surprises me, and Isabella Starling managed to do so.

Amazon AUDark, Twisted and Amazing
I had to wait 24 hours to write this review. I absolutely loved this book and the story. The book is Dark, Twisted and amazing,
King Is dark, dominant and can come across as a complete Jerk ( to put it nicely) but you can tell he cares for pet.
Pet is 18 years of age, trouble past. The chemistry is off the charts, and they fit well together, I very much feel in love with hem and felt invested in their story
The stranger was a shock to me, it man his bad-boy attitude was hot as hell.Twists and turns
I think Pet is the best of all I've read from this author. The characters were interesting and their dynamic kept me engaged. The kink was well done.
It's not a typical menage story, but I liked that. It was unique.
I think trying to share any part of the story will detract from its mystery and twists, because it was well done and had me guessing in a few spots.
I *really* do not see how this is dark, though. Kinky, yes. Dark, no.Stunned speechless....just wow!
Sexy, Thrilling, Steamy
Emotional, madden, unnerving
Wishful, heartbroken, STUN
The beginning hooks you
The middle breaks you
The end heals you...
I am in awe with this novel...
Read with open mind, it has many layers...
Steamy yes, emotional yes, unexpected yes...
Arc copyWow my king
No words again not expecting this book to be so powerful and my god dirty absolutely loved Loved loved it!!!!
