She’s a young college student, set on a scrupulous career as a school teacher.
I’m a doctor with a checkered past.
Binge drinking on weekends, sleeping with women I care nothing for, and seeking summers with women I rent, has been my life.
Until I saw her face on the club’s website.
The Dungeon of Decorum may have found her, but I’d take her as my own.
Fighting men who wanted to use her in ways I found distasteful, I finally won her. She was mine to do with as I wanted. And I wanted all of her!
But she’d only get part of me. It had to be that way. She was my secret.
From our first touch, a spark ignited, neither of us had ever felt before. Our heat was off the charts. I couldn’t stop myself from taking her in ways I’d never planned on.
And I hadn’t planned for what she did. She broke every rule, some I hadn’t even made yet.
Could I face the world with what I’d done? Or would I run, leaving her behind me, safe as long as she wasn’t with me?
Love is temporary, at best. Happily ever after endings are merely fantasies, or so we both thought…
This book is a full-length standalone novel with a guaranteed HEA and no cliffhanger
Doctor's Demands Reviews

I absolutely loved this book.

Michelle Love has quickly became one of my favorite one-click authors and Doctor's Demands was another fabulous, steamy read! Owen Cantrell is a famous plastic surgeon who stars on a reality TV show. To deal with the chaos that brings to his life every summer he goes to a BDSM club called the Dungeon of Decorum and finds a new submissive. Petra Bakari is a college student who desperately needs cash to finish school. A new friend suggests she auctions herself off for the summer. At first, Petra is completely appalled at the idea but soon realizes it may just be the answer to all her problems. Owen has certain kinks that he is ashamed to have exposed for fear it could jeopardize his career. His sole goal for the summer is his own physical release without any emotional entanglements. Petra is a hopeless romantic with a clear set of limits for their relationship. She is warned from the very beginning not to let her heart get involved but soon finds that is easier said than done. I loved watching how both Petra and Owen evolved to get what they both needed. Will their time together be a mere summer fling where they both get what they want? Who's limits will be broken first? I highly suggest you pick up Doctor's Demands! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and one-clicked it asap.

4.5/5 stars
Super steamy and smokin’ hot dom/sub romance.
Owen is a moderately famous plastic surgeon who is on a reality tv show. Petra is a college student who is in desperate need of funds to pay for her last year of her education degree. They cross paths at the Dungeon of Decorum where Owen is looking to bid on his summer play thing and Petra is looking to pay for school by being auctioned off.
Owen has sexual preferences that he’s ashamed of and he feels that if the truth about his kinks were to be released publicly, his career would be ruined. He’s not so much into the impact play and the pain/pleasure experience with his sub, he’s with a woman for one reason alone. He’s not there to chat. He’s not there to fall in love. He doesn’t even want his women to see him. He just wants a physical release. End of story. Until Petra that is…
Petra’s a hopeless romantic who has agreed to be a sub for the summer, but has drawn hard lines on her dos and don’ts. She’s a tough woman who has had to look out for herself and she’s just doing what she needs to in order to get her degree. Everyone warns her to keep her heart out of the arrangement, but she quickly finds out that this is easier said than done.
Will the summer end as Owen expected, with him alone and headed back to his successful practice or will he realize that maybe love isn’t such a horrible thing after all? Will Petra leave with her money and a shattered heart?
They are both pushing their limits, but who will break first?
Very sexy romance with bdsm, brief f/f scene and a steamy m/f love story.
No cheating. No cliffhanger. HEA. Standalone. -
I get no joy from writing negative reviews. I hate it because I know an author put a lot of time and emotional energy into a book but...
For a good portion of this book I was intrigued and enjoying it and it was tracking like a 3.5- 4 star read. I liked the chemistry between the MCs and their playfulness and banter. But then it veered so far off course. It actually felt like the first 1/2- 2/3 or so was written by one author and the last bit was written by someone else, who was not as skilled with dialogue, plot or transitions. The last 1/4 was all over the place! It was disjointed and jumped from scene to scene with flimsy connections. At times it felt like I was reading a different book of about different characters.
But the thing that I found the most bothersome was how off base the BDSM concepts were. Not to mention at times it seemed a bit insulting toward it. The list is long of all the things this book got wrong, but just to name a few- When the 'Dom' who has a reality show and successful practice turns into a blithering idiot when his secret is at risk of being exposed. He panics & runs like a child when faced with it (more than once)! There is actually a scene where they are being chased by paparazzi and he leaps from the car and flees into the woods! Really? And how he is afraid to face his vanilla sex-buddy/ colleague when she shows up to confront him. But his 21 yr old 'sub' who had a couple of weeks of training is the voice of reason and logic (and the only one with any courage) in the relationship.
I also didn't care for how Owen expresses so much shame about his kink and suddenly becomes hung up on 'normal'. He blabbers on about how they are going to have one last kinky go and then they'll walk out of there and be a 'normal' couple, that does 'normal things' with other 'normal couples', like go to brunch. HOW RIDICULOUS!
I did actually enjoy some of this book the last 1/2- 1/3 absolutely ruined it for me. And aside from that there were just plot points throughout that didn't make any sense. For example his need for a mute summer sex slave who is tied, gagged and blindfolded, with no touching or interaction. Yet he's been screwing someone else (with no bondage) weekly for 3 years.
I'm glad to see many people have enjoyed this book and I wish the author great success. But it obviously wasn't for me. -
Petra is a college student in financial difficulties. She has one more year of school to finish before she can get her dream job as a kindergarten teacher. However she is greatly in debt and has no money for that last year. A fellow college student hears about her difficulties and tells her about a way to earn money. She can be auctioned off for the summer to fulfill her buyers sexual demands and earns tons of money. She can list what she will do and not do and there is an emergency number to call if things go bad. Petra is reluctant but desperate. Together with her friend they expand her boundaries so she can get a better price.
Owen is a successful plastic surgeon with his own TV show. He has strong BDSM needs but is afraid to act on them at home. Every summer he buys a woman in a distant city to do whatever he wants. He doesn't want a relationship, just annoymous sex. He doesn't want his sub to see or touch him. When he sees Petra on the auction website, he is immediately drawn to her innocence. He wants to be the one to teach her. He also wants to protect her from others who might have more debasing desires. Luckily he wins the auction.
His time with Petra is different from his previous times. She actually recognizes his voice and knows who he is. She also seems to really enjoy his attentions. Will he be able really have a relationship with her?
This is a light BDSM book with lots of heat. I found it a little awkward at first. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review. -
This was an okay read. I wasn't super impressed with it when I first starting reading it but it did grow on me some. The characters were fairly interesting. The BDSM is fairly light. It does play a major role in the story. Owen is a famous plastic surgeon and plays a role in a reality TV show. He takes 3 months in the summer and "buys" a sub to do what he wants during that time without his identity getting out. He keeps her secluded and will tie her up to minimize the contact between them. He also keeps them blindfolded. He does this so that it is just sex and that's it. Petra is his new sub for the summer and from the beginning things are different. Owen has a hard time handling that and doesn't want things to change but he is just as guilty for the changes. He just doesn't know how to handle them. He wants more contact with Petra and she wants more too but they struggle fighting Owen's guilt that he feels. The sex is explicit and it does play a large role in the story. Like I said, the BDSM is on the light side, nothing hardcore. Sometimes for me, problems that were bigger were fixed just a little too easily without things being/feeling like it actually delved into and fixed what was going on. That's the main reason why I had a bit of a harder time with the characters and why I rated it a 3. It has the potential and it's not a bad story. I enjoyed it.

Headline: I have voluntarily read and reviewed and ARC version of Doctor Demands by Michelle Love.
Voluntarily? That’s an understatement! I was jumping up in down say “oooooh, pick me, pick me!”
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There were parts that were a little to corny of too ideal, if that make sense. It’s crazy to me that I can say there were parts, in my opinion, were too perfect. The way they communicated with each other at times annoyed me a smidge and made me giggle. The giggling did nothing to lessen the swooning though for Owen or my adoration for this book. It was more like a second level of entertainment. The ending was adorable. Usually I would be pushing for an extended epilogue, but this one wrapped up in the perfect way. Not saying I wouldn’t absorb an offered extended epilogue if it became available. Because I would…like a vacuum.
Due to the lite (my opinion) BDSM, I would recommend for readers who like it steamy and sweet who are also considering testing the waters of BDSM romance. Happy reading! -
Patient: Dr. Owen Cantrell
Diagnosis: Cynical outlook on life, lack of faith in love and happy endings
Prescription: One plucky young woman, willing to please but not willing to be a doormat. Take as often as possible every day until symptoms disappear.
Michelle Love has done it again! This is a beautifully written book, charting the love story of Petra and Owen, who meet under a rather strict contractual arrangement because that’s the way Owen has always done it, and he believes that’s the only way he can satisfy his need for feminine company. Petra does absolutely nothing to try to change his mind; she just lets herself be exactly who she is. Surprising to both of them, her loving and accepting attitude is what makes him think he might just possibly be ready for a little bit more than what he’s used to. Of course, problems arise when they try to return to their normal lives, but that is what makes a love story worth reading. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. -
Loved the story of Owen and Petra. The story begins when you meet Petra. She's a young college student who is studying to become a teacher. Along with going to school she has gone into debt for her last year and is looking for a way to continue her schooling.
Petra meets a young woman who says she can help. She tells her of a program that she can join that would put her together with a man for the summer months in exchange for her personal attentiveness. Sex being key.
Then you meet Owen, who is a famous doctor on a show on television. He sees a visual representation of Petra from this programs website and decides he has to have her. Just the thought of her drives him wild and he's never experienced anything like this feeling before.
What ensues is wonderful. Seeing these two come together is totally hot. There is mild BDSM involved but nothing overwhelming. I loved how the characters were written and how passionate each of them were with their life stories.
Love this story from page 1. Must read through the end. Incredible. -
Michelle Love is becoming one of my favourite authors. You always get a good well written book with an amazing storyline.
Dirty hot steamy scenes and romance all together. Lots of chemistry. Dark thoughts that the characters has to push away.
Michelle Love never disappoints.
Owen is hot and sexy and he knows it. He has built so many walls and made so many rules to protect himself that it is difficult to see who he is. But Petra tried to knock these walls down and destroy his rules. Can she do it?
Petra has to find some money to pay for her tuition and that is difficult so she decides to sell herself. Owen is the one who wins her and what then?
This book has lot of chemistry, emotions, a great storyline, lust, panic and a lot more that makes this book unique and catchy.
A real must read for those who are into a bit of BDSM. Dark but not more than it is adventurous and sexy.
I received this as an ARC for my honest review. -
Michelle has written another beautiful book. What I mostly appreciate about her writing is actually the care with which she describes the psychological background of each character. Owen is a successful plastic surgeon, a television star with lots of money and women falling at his feet. On the other hand he has a dark secret that is he is incapable of falling in love because his parents had an unpleasant divorce and he just can't let himself go. For this reason he relies on a BDSM club to find sexual relief without letting any woman in his heart. What he does is, in his opinion, extremely shameful so he keeps hiding the evidence that he is uncomfortable with himself. At this club he will meet Petra, the woman that will finally heal his soul. An amazing book, I admit that while reading the book I was so overwhelmed by the intensity of their feelings that it actually left me speechless.

Brilliant, successful, famous and gorgeous Dr Owen Cantrell is adored by millions of fans. He lives life to the fullest but needs to release some of the pressures built up because of his hectic life. So every summer he hires a submissive to feed his kink and relieve those pressures. Petra Bakari is young, beautiful, smart and drowning in the debt of student loans and needs a lot of money to finish her last year of college so she can become the teacher she's always dreamed of becoming. When she's told about The Dungeon of Decorum's submissive auction she reluctantly agrees to being bought by a Dom because she needs the money. Owen successfully wins Petra and thus begins their journey.
This book is an easy read. Characters are likeable and the story has a few twists and turns. Kept my interest throughout. -
The truth will set you free. Dr. Cantrell is a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon with his own reality television show making him even more famous. However he has some proclivities that need to be addressed to help him deal with the pressures of his life. Every summer he heads out of town to a place that caters to the BDSM crowd and purchases a submissive via an auction. Petra is the young woman that is purchased by Dr. Cantrell. She is at the club to earn some money to pay her way through college and become a teacher along with paying off her other debts. This is a relatively fast read and can be completed in one sitting. The storyline has some twists and turns and the characters are congenial. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Owen and Petra are a match made perfectly. They each have their own problems and those have created different views on how life should be for each of them. When Petra finds herself in a bind trying to pay for her final year in school, she goes along with her friend to auction herself off for the summer, but she definitely gets more than she bargained for. She's expecting some hard core BDSM, but Owen is just looking for someone to come to when he wants, and have her bound and blindfolded so she doesn't know who he is. With his celebrity status, he can't take any chances on someone finding out about his kink. It takes Petra to show him he's not an evil person and he is lovable. The way he reacts when she tells him she loves him is priceless. A lot of guys could take a lesson from him. Great read, can't wait for more. -
I love Michelle Love's books extremely well. This one I only gave 4 stars due to the fact Owen doesn't seem like the alpha dominant male that we are used to but he is still very well developed and has a great personality. However, that being said it is still extremely well written and the flow of the story is very good. I loved Petra's attitude and spunk. She is a fabulous character and has absolutely stolen the story. This may be a bit taboo for some people if you give a chance the plot and story line won't disappoint you. The story line is definitely what has you wanting to know more. I love how it is a little different and in some parts has a little suspense in it. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

This is a light BDSM book that involves college senior Petra who desperately needs money to pay for her senior year. Her roommate introduces her to the Dungeon of Decorum Club. There she meets sexy 34 year old plastic surgeon Owen who is immediately taken with her. He has a checkered past and has 'dark kinky desires' The book is well written and has a story line with lots of surprises
, suspense and chemistry that is off the charts. Michelle Love has another winner on her hands – IMO. Owen buys Petra for a three month summer contract. She has no clue what she's getting into but really has no choice because she desperately needs the money. You'll enjoy this story and you'll be a forever fan of Michelle Love and her books. I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book. -
4.5 stars This was an excellent contemporary BDSM romance. Owen is a plastic surgeon for the rich and famous. He has his own reality show and unfortunately had relations with his co-worker who was also a doctor. Every summer for the past few years Owen leaves his practice and show for the summer off. It's what he does with that summer that brings this story to life. This is not a hard BDSM book. Owen is dissatisfied with his life. Petra has mounting student loans and no money to finish her last year of college until she's introduced to BDSM by a friend. She agrees to be auctioned off for the summer to earn her college money. No one expected what occurred to happen. Ms. Love keeps readers on edge. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review.

I really enjoyed this book. This was my first book I read of Michelle's and it will not be my last. Owen is a successful plastic surgeon who loves BDSM but feels because he is in the lime light people will judge him. Petra is a college student who needs money for tuition asap and when a fellow student tells her about a club that will make her a lot of money she's all in. Owen never thought he would meet someone like Petra, from the moment they meet all rules will be broken. Can Petra finally get Owen to see that he's not damage like he thought he was and will finally find someone too love him just for himself?
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book -
This is steamy, entertaining, amusing and romantic. Owen doesn't believe in love or happily-ever-after so he buys a girl every summer to just have sex with. Petra needs college money so she sells herself. When the two first meet sparks ignite, he can't help being fascinated by her and she can't help help but be drawn to the energy between them. Owen is a real trip, he starts off a little strong, but quickly heads down to weak and panicked. Petra starts off shy and unsure and turns into a strong confident woman. It is a very enjoyable story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my voluntary and honest opinion of it. -
I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. This books starts off like most where a young woman joins an auction at a BDSM club to raise quick cash. Though it starts off like most stories in this situation, it twists and turns a bit due to her Top, rather WHO her top is. Owen isn't as alpha as most Dom's tend to be and Petra comes across a lot stronger considering she plays the submissive role. I enjoyed this book and appreciated all the twists and turns.
-
Another great BDSM story from Michelle Love. I love that Michelle's books have a great story line and are not just about jumping in and out of bed. I also like that she explores the BDSM world and offers insight into the variety of kinks that are available and especially the safety level that is stringent in all BDSM encounters.
A touching story and a HEA that we all crave.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. -
Nice read.
I enjoyed this story. I liked the characters. It was an easy read. I felt like parts were missing though. All the filler stuff that leads up to characters falling in love or being who they are were not really there. So we got to the love and relationship quickly. Not saying that's a bad thing. It just made the story feel like it was missing a foundation. I enjoyed Petra and Owen's story though.
