  Since I’m going to the Globe theatre next week I thought it a good idea to get a bit of insight into the history of the Globe.
  
  Although it was insightful, it was very brief and a lot of important information was absent. That important information was replaced with some pretty unnecessary blabbering about one specific play. And that play was Henry V. I mean at one point the author was giving the reader a walk through the actual plot of the play, which had absolutely nothing to do with the main focus of the chapter. I felt like the author was trying to fill the pages.
  
  Nevertheless the illustrations were actually quite beautiful and fitting and gave the whole "essay" more of a modern twist if you know what I mean.
  
  Let’s just say, as I briefly mentioned before, it felt like I was reading an essay. And nothing more.

  After visiting the Globe last summer, I stumbled upon this book at a used bookstore. Curious to learn more about the original Globe, I picked it up and dived in. It was very interesting to learn about the theater culture in the days of Shakespeare. It's a short book, full of lively pictures. Although it didn't completely satisfy all of my curiosity, it was a lovely overview.
