He was a bigger-than-life person and the owner of a very successful Mercedes Benz dealership in Seattle, but did he have secrets? And who would want Johnny dead?

Murder in Whistler (Northwest Mystery #2) Reviews

All they were planning was a short vacation to visit DeeDee's sister in Whistler. The sister's hadn't seen each other in a while and they missed each other. Plus, Roz seemed to be holding something back--DeeDee figured she had a better chance on finding out what this secret was if she saw Roz in person. She only hoped that there was no trouble!

They arrived in Whistler only to be told that they could not stay at Roz's house. No problem--Roz had gotten them a room at nearby golf club. Even better-the room was upgraded to a suite when they got there!

Jake and Roz's boyfriend head out to play golf the next day--DeeDee and Roz would spend the day shopping and eating. As they walked to the starting tee they noticed something lying in the grass--it was Johnny Roberts--and he was very much dead.

Turns out that Johnny Roberts was a former neighbor of DeeDee--and she was very close to his wife. Thus begins the mystery--who killed Johnny Roberts and why?

I definitely enjoyed reading Murder in Whistler-it kept me reading and guessing until the murderer is revealed near the end! I was kind of hoping it wouldn't be who it was---but then---no clues from me!!

It's exciting to read about a car dealership. Until you find out the owner of the dealership had his share of enemies. One of these haters doesn't mind fooling around with poison. The poison used is one we've heard a lot about on the news in the past. This brings reality to the book.

"Murder in Whistler" by Dianne Harman also is thought provoking. There is so much a widow or widower must do before allowing themselves to grieve. Thank God for the friends who enter our lives at the perfect time. This time I must mention the dog friends in the e book. There are Balto and Yukon. One dog belongs to DeeDee and the other dog belongs to Jake. Whistler is a place popping not only with beauty but with murder.

This was an enjoyable book to read. Dianne Harman always does a great job writing good clean mysteries and then even includes recipes at the end of the book. As with other books written by this author there is a dog involved with the story. This is a murder mystery and I would never want to spoil the fun of reading by giving the end details but this takes place while the main character is on a trip with her new boyfriend. There is a murder at the golf course and the victim was the past neighbor of the main character. There are several suspects so you will need to read the book to learn who actually committed the murder.

    MURDER IN WHISTLER
DeeDee Wilson and Jake Rodgers head north to British Columbia to visit her sister Roz but like in all Dianne Harmans novels murder is usually afoot. This time the victim is Dee Dees former neighbor Johnny. A lot of suspects are on the list this time and they all have reasons to want him dead but are they good enough to want the guy dead?
As always Ms. Harmon thrills her readers with a good whodunit, great characters, hateful badasses and lots of great food.(check out the cool recipes at the end of each story.) I give MURDER IN WHISTLER 5 golden golf clubs for a well told tale.

Murder in Whistler: A Northwest Cozy Mystery (Northwest Cozy Mystery Series Book 2), my fifteenth read/listen from author Dianne Harman and my second read in her Northwest Cozy Mystery Series. Well-written and developed, a joy to read/listen to. I received an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Charlie Glaize's narration adds to an excellent book's enjoyment. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author, in fact I just put Murder on Bainbridge Island: A Northwest Cozy Mystery (Northwest Cozy Mystery Series Book 1) on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

This was a really good cozy mystery! Jake and DeeDee make a fun couple. DeeDee and Jake are on vacation to visit DeeDee’s sister Roz. But then an old friend and neighbor of DeeDee’s loses her husband when he dies. Is there a chance that he was actually murdered? DeeDee and Jake are doing some secret investigating to find out the truth. There is more than one person who could have been the murderer. So they are going to have their work cut out for them. But there’s also some humor along the way.

A solid 4 stars for this book. Much improved from the first one in the series in my opinion. I am reading the set of books 1-3 back to back to back, and they flow together nicely.

The author has a definite style that I hope continues through the series. The prologue details the murder, and early chapters introduce characters who wanted the victim dead.

i got this set from Kindle Lending Library.. On to book 3!

    The Perfect Cozy Mystery

Where ever DeeDee goes, there is bound to be some action. Whether she stumbles up on it, or hears about it. Deedee will put on her investigator hat and start gathering details. Not bad for a caterer. With the help of her investigator friend Jake, the two of them can almost crack any case. I love all the characters in this series! It’s a nice read for a rainy day!

    Who killed Johnny?

Dee Dee, Jake and Balto go to Whistler to attend a wedding and to see Roz, Dee Lee's sister. While there the murder of her neighbor, Johnny happens at the golf course. With a multitude of suspects, Dee Dee and Jake help to investigate Johnny's murder. Lots of roads to go through to get to the suspect that did the evil deed.

DeeDee and Jake have taken a much-needed vacation and to spend time with Roz and Clark. There are at least four suspects and we get to see why each one wants to kill Johnny. I really like this style of writing, it adds depth and dimension to the storyline and the characters. I think Ms Harman is a great writer and I look forward to reading more of her books!!

    Amazing

This is one murder mystery that had me stumped. As Dee Dee and Jack get involved in finding out who killed her friend, Cassies husband, there are several suspects. I was amazed when the murderer was found. Very good read.

    Murder in whistler

Another fantastic story by Dianne Harman. Have read all of her books and have loved all of them... this book, like the others have great characters, storylines and characters. A wonderful series!

Sigh, I just finished Dianne Harman's latest book and wish I had more on my TBR pile.
I love her cozy mysteries with her red herrings, twists and turns.
    This book met my expectations.
Thanks again for a nice read on a lazy rainy afternoon.

A new series from this author

If you have read the other series by this author, Cedar Bay, you will recognize this new series. Basically the same characters, the same plots, all the same, just in a different place. A nice story still. I'm just bored by these two series.

  • Linda Walters

Dianne Harman never fails to enthrall me. The main person I thought guilty was not guilty of murder, but my second choice was. Dianne kept me interested in the story til the very end. I can't wait to get started on her next book. I am already engrossed in it.

  • JMM Adams

    Another exciting mystery.

I would recommend the Cozy Mystery books to anyone that’s likes a clean, exciting read. I love Balto being involved in the crime solving. I’m a dog person, and love books with dogs in them.

  • Cheryl

The main characters are DeeDee and her boyfriend Jake. They get caught up in the death of an old friend of DeeDee's. Jake is a PI and that makes it a little easier to find things out. But can they figure it out before it's too late ?
