His Beautiful Revenge Reviews

Bad doesn't even begin to cover it.
Terrible editing, with non existing chapters, back and forth between characters, plots and timelines to a hero or two who are slightly less than honourable paired with two psychopathic exes, this book was a living landmine.
Main hero, Giacomo, ACTUALLY cheats on his fiancee or GF or whatever. Heroine, Norah, however has broken it off before sleeping with him. However this hero, who doesn't feel an ounce of feeling for his GF, is not breaking up with her because he's scared of a scene, is looking for evidence of HER cheating as a reason to dump her, goes ahead and have sex with h before breaking up. He does break up with the GF that same night, and tells the GF that he has been faithful until he was sure it was over between them, but in all honesty, is that acceptable?
Second hero of the story, Orlando, is married to his wife Carmel for a while, their love story is painted as the one comparable to romeo and juliet's or at least Edward the eighth. THIS guy falls "head over heels" in love with Zulika, the second heroine, within about 3 months of Carmel's death! Falls in her bed well before a year has passed. And this guy was passionately in love with his wife! ARE. YOU. FUCKING. KIDDING. ME?
He's "suitably" mortified in front of the hero, and hero tells him it's ok, HOWEVER, hero also admits, that if HE was in the situation, and if everything was reversed, and Norah, love of his life died, THIS SHIT HERE, would not happen, he'd probably die with her! This is coming from a guy who have been looking up at Orlando and Carmel's love story for inspiration, but was never a commitment guy before. He hasn't committed (he was faithful, up to a certain point, but no marriage in the horizon) to his GF of five years, and he knows that his fiancee of six months is irreplaceable, yet Orlando's love of his life is replaced within less than a year!
Now don't get me wrong, please. If this was real life, I'd believe it. Zulika had cancer and everything, so emotions would heighten and it would be rushed, Orlando lost his love once, he clearly would want to hold on to Zulika, who sounded like not just an awesome woman, but also a decent human being.
HOWEVER, this is a romance novel, I want undying love, I want Orlando and Carmel's love to be untouched! Even though Zulika might not be second best, I still want something better for her!
And now I come to the Exes. I understand Norah's one. He wanted Norah as his possession, he was a rapist and abuser, he also really liked the attention of a stronger woman, thus the cheating with OW bitch! The OW however, I had no patience for! And seriously! How many times did the author need to almost kill Norah? Killing Carmel was apparently not enough! I lost count of the number of time Norah was attacked. It was just a mess at the end! I just didn't care about the ending after 7%, book ends at 12!
Now the editing. Microsoft Word spell check does better spelling and grammar check than whoever edited book!
This was one long paragraph from start to finish, no spaces between paragraph and no chapter headings. It jumped abruptly from Norah to Zulika to Orlando to Giacomo to the exes to absolute random third person! I didn't know who was with who for a while, all of a sudden A is in love with B, C is not there anymore, D is randomly hooking up E and now they're declaring undying love. Gunshots. Blood. HEA! -

Le sigh... I made it through. There was SO MUCH GOING ON. Like, at all times. The massive amount of sex scenes almost made up for it, especially since the author has a knack for injecting a lot of sweet emotion and love in to the sex scenes (which is not all that common), but the whole book was like a telenovela or soap opera hopped up on Ritalin and meth. There were multiple couples (all having sex at one point or another), rape, physical abuse, kidnapping, assassins, a mob boss...All crammed in to one story. And Norah (the protagonist), so much happened to poor Norah! And Orlando (a secondary male character)... ugh! Now, I was engaged enough in the story to finish it - I sort of couldn't put it down after I invested some time in it, I just had to know how it all played out. It reminded me of the tagline they use for Shonda Rhimes' shows, something about them being "twisty turny" I think. So yeah. It was ok. I mean, I finished it. So, 2 out of 5 wine glasses? -
First off, I was really looking forward to this book. The synopsis doesn't even scratch the surface of this book.
What can I say about it? I have never read a book quite like this. Back in my day, I'm really not that old...I watched soap operas. This book was a soap opera in written form. We had the cheating partners, sex, evil villians, sex, life shattering events, sex, revenge, and even more...yes, sex.
Just like a soap opera, you had short snippets of a scene, and when it starts to get good or you may get a revelation, cut to next scene, leaving you with a mini cliffhanger. His Beautiful Revenge was a mishmash of small scenes, with a boat load of sex thrown in. I have met bunnies that had less sex. It was rather impressive.
I will say that I couldn't put it down. I'm not sure if it was the story that kept me up or if it was the possibility that maybe it will start to gel together. Ms. Love did keep me engaged, but I just couldn't get past that I read about two weeks of soap operas in one book setting. It was crammed full of drama, deception and sex. I could swear that the villains twirled their mustaches and I heard the dom dom doooom music at some of the scene ends.
Either Ms. Love is onto something new, fresh and brilliant with this creative new style of writing, or it is a hot mess. The jury is still out. -
Story had the potential to be a good one but the formatting ruined it. There were so many concurrent storylines and they all melted together because there were no new chapters, no paragraphs, no divisions of any kind. You're reading about one character and then suddenly, in the next sentence in the middle of a line it's a whole different scene. The book was like reading one long run on sentence.
Additionally, the titled book is only 15% of the whole book. There's an "extended epilogue" that I couldn't consider bringing myself to read and I have no idea what else.
It's too bad his is such a godawful mess because the basic premise was an interesting one. And Norah and Giacomo were intriguing characters. But too many other things got thrown in so there were two different stories going on at the same time and then other ridiculous situations in order for the author to force the situations she wanted to create. Zulu doesn't tell her best friend who is her only family that she has cancer bc Norah has too much going on?! Twice?!?!?! And really this city must have the most incompetent police force anywhere. Carmel reports her stalker, thing happens and she gets murdered. Lucian repeatedly violates an order of protection and nothing happens. No one thinks Tara is a suspect in what happens to Norah after she went out of her way to get her fired from every account she had (which ps, ridiculous! Like Giacomo wouldn't have more sway than a model?!)
Save yourself the time...unfortunately the book isn't worth it. -
This was an interesting read. It was different than what I had been expecting originally. The characters were okay. I liked Norah a lot, Giacomo was okay. I liked Zulika and Orlando as well. This story really follows both couples though Zulika and Orlando do not get together for half the book. Norah and Giacomo both have significant others when the story starts and they are cheating on them with each other. Giacomo figures out what is going on and has Tara followed to get more information and proof. He then sees Norah and checks out her work, which is really good and so decides to hire her but not tell her about their connection. Tara and Lucien end up being dumped (can't say anything else beyond that without a spoiler really) and they are both pissed about it. They can't let it go and so end up going after both of them. There's some action, some intrigue that will keep you reading to find out how everything will work out. I had a bit of a harder time connecting to the characters for whatever reason within the story. The sex is explicit. The story is a little twisted and it takes a few turns that I wasn't exactly expecting. It was an okay read though.

***I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review***Norah Reddy was dating Lucian who was having an affair with Tara who happened to be dating the billionaire Giacomo Conti. Tara and Jack as his friends called him had been together for over five years. But, because he had never mentioned marriage, Tara cheated with Lucian to make him jealous. When his best friend Carmel saw Tara and Lucian together she informed Jack. Giacomo decided to check out Lucian's girlfriend for revenge, but after watching on several occasions at her bookstore, he became intrigued by her. He offered her a job to work with him and they fell in love. He never told her about Lucian and Tara. She had a feeling that Lucian was unfaithful and she no longer loved him. He came home drunk one night and raped her. She was done with him and reported him to the police. He was arrested and Tara went his bail. She told him she had plans for Carmel and Norah. This is an excellent read. There are danger and romance in abundance.

There were some good plot twists and suspenseful moments that had me on the edge of my seat. There were a couple of moments that had me nervous during the actual story. However, I really didn't see any of the chemistry I expected between the characters in the story. Yes, it was filled with the sexual exploits I expected for and erotic read. But they were so fast...just a few sentences and it was over. I really wanted more feelings, more energy. I thought the best emotional expression was when Giacomo almost lost Norah. I just wanted to read more passion in the steamy scenes. In fact, other than the exceptional expression of crazy by the characters who needed that crazy to show, Giacomo was the most emotional. I liked his character. And I liked Orlando's daughter. She was intelligent and well written. The plot was good and the story developed. I just wanted to feel more from these characters and between them.
-
What a roller coaster of emotions this book evoked one minute I am laughing, then sobbing, then wanting to beat some one up, then in absolute fear and lastly sighing at the love that Jack has for Norah.
It is hard to imagine that there really are people out there who stalk their ex-lovers new woman/man but we hear about it in the news often enough. It is even more frightening to imagine that there are people, male or female, who are so full of themselves and so selfish that they are prepared to go to any lengths, including murder and paying someone to remove those who they feel are standing in the way.
This book was a wonderful mixture of the good, the bad and the ugly. Best thing is that love prevailed and we get the HEA we are waiting for.

Norah is stuck in a dying relationship. Her boyfriend seldom pays her any attention and she almost believes he has been cheating on her. Instead she concentrates on her two businesses, a bookstore and her own publicity company. Her suspicions are correct, her boyfriend is having an affair with a famous model, Tara. Tara's boyfriend, Giacomo is also suspicious of her and has her followed until he has proof of her affair with Lucian. Giacomo decides to investigate the other man's girlfriend and discovers that Norah is smart and beautiful. He decides to hire Norah to work on some publicity projects at his business.
The plot in this book is very twisted with lots of love triangles or squares. I really enjoyed this complex books and Norah and Giacoma are much better together. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review. -
This is a steamy, twisted tale that stops just shy of being a dark thriller, with jealousy at the center.
Giacomo Conti has finally found the perfect reason to leave his current girlfriend, Tara. Too bad he forgot the old saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Unable to stomach her ex-lover's new-found happiness without her, she sets out to wreak havoc in his life.
Ms. Love made her villains bad enough that you hated them, and her other main characters sweet enough that you loved them almost at first sight. Having the story being told from multiple viewpoints was a good idea. You had a chance to be in almost everyone's head. The story moves at a rather quick pace, but is intriguing, so you are sucked into reading it to the end.

A book full of suspense and action. The author has done a great job with this thrilling story. Firstly all the characters were perfectly fitted together. The entire story whirls around this beautiful woman and her billionaire boyfriend. A predestined encounter that will lead to dangerous situations and cause the reader to remain speechless. I admit that at a certain point I felt sorry for Tara, Giacomo’s ex girlfriend because her continuous rage and determination consumed her poor soul. She was no longer acting like a human being and all her glamour and beauty faded as her hatred consumed her. On the other hand I also enjoyed all the sexy and steamy scenes that Michelle has gifted the reader so I really suggest everyone to grab a copy of this enthralling book.

**I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Readers Copy of this book**
Michelle Love is a favorite of mine and I can always depend on a steamy, sexy, fun, fast read from her. However, this book had A LOT going on. It became difficult to keep everyone, their relationships, and their storylines straight. This did these characters a disservice. Giacomo and Norah deserved their own story, as did Orlando and Zulika. I get that their stories were intertwined, but maybe releasing the book as a duo would have been a better option. There were certainly some issues editing the book and occasion whiplash from the change in scenes. I liked the plot, certainly had twists, but little TOO MUCH!! Still a decent read, just be prepared. -
Enjoyed!
There is a lot going on in this book but once I got into the flow of the book and invested into the characters I started to really enjoy the story. I really liked the main characters Giacomo and Norah. There relationship started with Insta lust that quickly moved to love. Giacomo was such a sweet and caring H. He was also extremely sexy. This story also has amazing side characters in Orlando, Carmel and Zulika. Their stories bring so much more to the book. Lucian and Tara were a couple of depraved villains who would have done anything to get what they wanted. This story was filled with love, friendship, angst, drama, suspense and lots of steamy sex! Definitely worth the read! -
This book is like OMG! It has so many twists and turns in it that it will blow your mind. I loved this story. I couldn't put it down until I reached then just to find out how it ends. I love how it tells you so many sides of the story and gives the point of view from so many characters. It was done so you don't get lost and you not wonder who is doing the thinking or talking. I loved the characters in it as well. They have so much personality that it feels like it is jumping off the page at you. The chemistry is extraordinary in it and so hot. This is a must read and if you like drama, suspense, action, and of course hot romance then you won't want to miss reading it. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

Awesome contemporary billionaire romance with intrigue and suspense. Norah is in a dysfunctional relationship with her boyfriend, Lucian. She realizes she needs to back away because Lucian is cheating on her. Giacomo is billionaire who is also in a bad relationship with a supermodel, Tara. When Giacomo hires Norah and realizes she is the type of woman he wants and needs so he drops Tara. Tara plots revenge against everyone she has a problem with. Ms. Love keeps the twists and turns going throughout the story so the reader has no idea of what happens next. The book is full of suspense, intrigue and romances. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author in the future.

This is the first book I have read of Michelle Love's and I will definitley be reading more. This story starts as revenge but actually turns into a budding romance full of passion and love. This book is filled with heartbreak, terror, love, passion, sorrow and ultimately, victory. It truly has it all. And, through the telling of Nora and Giacomos love story, you actually get to read about a second love story, all in one book! Great read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

#iamnotaquitter. So I really wanted to like this book because the story line had some great potential...........nope didn't happen. First there were no chapters in this book which I could have lived with. What I couldn't get past was the change of character pov in the middle of a paragraph. It wasn't so bad in the beginning of the book, POVs were at least broke up by paragraph but by the end they just would start in middle of a sentence almost. I had to reread just to know who was talking. Last, when lines like "I wish I could lay with you properly" start appearing.......I can't. You cannot not throw biblical terms in an erotic book. At that point I was done, but apparently not because I read the whole book. Rant done.....this one goes on the DNR shelf......do not recommend.

I'm not even sure what I just read.
Normally if I don't like a book I don't review it and just move on. I could not do that in this case. I had to say something. The formatting of this book is horrendous. There are NO chapters. Half the time you are not even sure which character you are actually reading about. Its jumps from paragraph to paragraph. Then all of a sudden you see a heading such as "4 months later" and huge chunks of time are gone with no explanation as to what happened during that time. I'll be honest and say I didn't finish the story but I tried. I really did. The storyline has potential but it makes no sense at all with the way it's written and formatted. -
This is a dark, twisted, suspenseful story with jealousy all around, and also includes murder and mystery with mafia ties.
Giacomo has a girlfriend, Tara, but after suspicions, he confirms she is cheating on him with Lucian. Once he discovers this he wants to know more about Norah, Lucian's girlfriend. After meeting Norah, he soon realizes she is perfect for him and his business. However, Tara decides if he isn't with her and happy then he cannot be with anyone. Will Giacomo and Norah have their HEA? Will Tara get in the way and kill Norah?
I was hooked until the end and still want to read more about Zulika.

Norah is dating Lucian, the brother to her best friend Zuleika, and has been for five years. She comes to the conclusion the relationship is done when she suspects he's cheating on her. After a scary situation, Norah breaks up with him. Giacomo is a tech millionaire who is dating Tara, a supermodel, and suspects she's cheating on him. After finding out she's cheating on him with Lucian, Norah's boyfriend, he breaks up with her. Michelle love has given us a fated romance but before the ever elusive HEA, we have a murder with the mystery of who done it, and all the twists and turns of a revengeful character. This was a great read.
-
This was a drama-filled book, hard to read at times because of some of the darker themes, but it was very well written and a captivating read. Giacomo and Norah had a lot to overcome on their road to happiness, but they relied on their steadfast love for the strength to stay the course regardless of the obstacles. Michelle Love really knows how to weave together an intricate story with lots of twists and surprises and a very solid love story with a HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

copy received for honest review
This is a fast paced story with a lot going on. It could at times be too much going on. Lying, cheating, murder and more secrets. In the beginning Jack and Norah both are in dead end relationships. the exes were poison. The beginning of the relationship between the two is a little messy. Jack was not honest and Norah went through a lot and the end of her relationship with Lucian. They somehow survive all the things thrown there way and make it ti happiness. with all the action and drama, it was entertaining and will keep the reader engaged.
