That's what Calliope Crown's old high school classmates want to know.
Now it's five years later and Calliope's gone from fat to fit in a year-long transformation with a world-renowned self-help guru. When funds she's always counted on fall through, she moves to ritzy Boca Raton to work for her snobby aunt's beachside bakery and face the same temptation that put her in the body she so desperately wants to forget. Calliope may be armed with a new identity, but old self-images don't die fast, and true self-esteem isn't something you can buy online with a credit card, even though her guru would suggest otherwise with the prices of his webinar course and weekly regimen.
Enter one cute and dedicated handyman and Calliope begins to see the world in a new light. Connecting with him, as well as new friends and Internet followers may just prove that life's detours can sometimes reveal our truest identities in the most unexpected of ways.

Have you ever had a problem with the way you look? Too fat? Too skinny?” Too tall or short? Frizzy hair? Straight hair? Freckles? We could go on and on, but you get the picture, right?
In Author P.K. Hrezo’s latest novel, RADICAL NEW ME a novel, Callie Crown was overweight in her teen years. She was called names, one especially that crushed her. Now she’s twenty-three, and she’s changed. Yes, she’s lost weight, a lot of weight, thanks to a program called “Rouby’s Roadmap to a Radical New You.” We follow Callie’s progress through You Tube Videos she makes. Her family is having financial problems, so she puts off attending college and goes to work for her Aunt Delilah at, you guessed it, Delilah’s Cupcakery, where they make cupcakes, this job for a girl on a diet.
Life gets even more complicated for Callie when she meets a guy, well, I don’t want to give away Callie’s life, but it gets quite exciting.
So when you’re in the mood for a fun read with a romance, friendship, and plans that go astray, pick up a copy of RADICAL NEW ME a novel. I think you’ll be glad you did. The author has written a story that many people can relate to. Can you?

Radical New Me is an elegant and enticing story about a young woman who fears that she is neither of those things. Former chubby teen Caliope Crown has embarked on a personal journey of transformation, with the (expensive) help of a famous lifestyle guru, and is now facing her oh-so-tasty demons by taking a summer job at her snooty aunt's cupcake bakery in Florida. Not only that, she is also sharing her journey online in a series of videos she posts as a masked avenger of fat, fatigue and failure.
PK Hrezo has crafted a charming tale in which our plucky heroine stays the course, despite the occasional speed bump, remaining true to her ideals and her goals, and ultimately finding acceptance and love - both within and without. I'm tempted to call this book a Radical departure from PK's previous SF and fantasy novels, but in its own way it is just as magical! -
I loved this book so much. Calliope Crown has just learned that her father will lose everything in a malpractice case. She can't continue going to college for summer school and, instead, will go to work at her aunt's cupcake bakery. The only problem with this is that Calliope, formerly known as Callie Cow, has been on a weight loss journey and is incredibly attracted to buttercream frosting.
The story talks about the summer, the relationship with her aunt, and Callie's growth through her experience. Through the use of her YouTube channel and the love of a certain handyman, she realizes that she's more than the name Callie Cow that was bestowed upon her in high school.
Awesome story, great characters, highly recommend. :-) -
Radical New Me, by P.K. Hrezo, is a well written romantic comedy. This story is unique, but absolutely amazing. I loved how the author wrote this story with the blog entries that the main character shares on her journey through the story. Her transformation from start to finish is remarkable. Truly loved this story and its a must read.

Quirky, funny, and hard hitting truthful. I loved every word and it made me rethink issues long past and which never change. I almost didn't read this book. I saw the first few words and prejudged self help book which I didn't want to read. But after the first chapter I was hooked. If you have or have ever had an issue of self esteem than read this book.
I received this book for a fair and honest review. -
I received an eARC of this book. It was a fun, fast read with a protagonist who deals with something we all do at one time or another~ self-doubt, even in the face of success. Loved Calliope's voice and journey, and the cupcake descriptions had me drooling for sweets :)
