Gritty, real, and down to earth, Rickie Trujillo pulls no punches. Although not for everyone, it is well written, and an unapologetic look at life as a Hispanic teen in an urban center. Gangs are part of everyday life, and breaking out of the cycle of violence is harder than most would believe.

I looked into this book because he used to help and teach my mother. He even met my dad who he didn approve. I Loved This BOOK!!!! It gave a great inside of how life was for many in that tie frame. Still happens to this day. Nicholas Bradley if you see this please email me it would be great to meet my mothers hero.
